Chapter 3

Celestia t, one of the gods of Fate. Stood before Cadence, an elegant woman, with long green hair, like a freshly cut lawn. Emerald green eyes. Her fingers wrapping around a clip board as she looked down at it. She was checking off on a list.

“Celestia, whats going on? Why did you call me over here?” Cadence asked as she moved towards the other goddess, Celestia wasn’t her favorite goddess, She was such a tight ass. If something was meant to happen, you would be damn sure she would do everything in her power to make sure that it would happen. At any cost. Normally Cadence wouldn’t even have to deal with Fate at least on a personal basis. They sent her a list of those who were meant to die, and she just took the souls and delivered them to where they needed to be, Boom the end.

Though this caused Cadence to wonder, Why was Celestia calling her?

“Come on Cadence this is important, though congratulation on the pregnancy.” She looked towards towards Cadence’s stomach.

“Thank you, Hopefully the little one will be healthy,” She smiled gently as she rubbed her stomach trying to put some emphases on it.

“I’m sure you will though this is important and I don’t have much time.” Celestia moved faster a kick him her step as they headed off towards the back room. The weaves of Fate. The room was filled with a large loom, anchient and older then time, Considered even older then the gods themselves that roamed spinning its threads till it had created the first Fate. Or how some gods theorized. Though this mystery was something none of them could answer. It was like a chicken and an Egg, which came first the Egg or the chicken. Cadence wasn’t sure about that, though she didn’t question it.

Celestia shut the door behind her, as she looked towards Cadence, a light clicking on the door as she took a deep breath.

“Cadence, you’re husbands going to die…” There was a long sigh as she closed her eyes rubbing the bridge of her noise.

“I know that Celestia, I’m the god of Death, Mortals are destined to die.” She sighed as she felt a twinge of sadness at the thought if she could she’d let Shining live forever but thats not how it works. Then the fact mortals who do live forever, manage to go mad. She remembered when Artemis did that with young girls, her hunters as she called them. Young maidens who would live as long as they abstain from love and men. Artemis was nearly driven to madness when she watched the girls slaughtering themselves, cause they couldn’t handle living past a few hundred years. The human mind just can’t handle living beyond their time.

“I know that but I mean is, your husband is going to be murdered,” Celestia reached over grabbing the threads and revealing it. There Cadence was shocked seeing what looked like a static image of Shining dead blood all over the place.

“How? Who’s going to kill him? I mean when will it happen?” Cadence asked

“I don’t know the threads are mixed and confused. Like something is effecting them. But I’m giving the event will happen in the next few months maybe after your child is born.”

“Why are you even telling me this?”

“Cause I owe you a favor, and beside. Someones fucking with the looms and I intend to figure out who did it. Beside He wasn’t destined to die for a long time and lets just call it even.” Celestia turned away as she started examining the threads preparing for whatever events be in store.

“Is there anything else you can tell me. Just some heads up beside, ‘Oh your husbands gonna die sometime around the time our kids going to be born?’”

Cadence was finding herself more annoyed by the whole situation.

“If I could tell you anything I would, but you know how the rules are, I can’t reveal everything. I’m only doing this so I could seal a favor you did for me, you’re dismissed.”

It was there Cadence was pushed off and out the door again, a long sigh as she shook her head.

“Thanks for the help real good work Celestia.” Though the Goddess couldn’t help but think that she was a bit more of a cunt when it came to things. Cadence stood there and let out a sigh as she began heading out from the office of Fate. Infact she decided that she would head home later. She would pick up a few names to reap, and then Figure out what she could do to save Shining Fremont’s life.

Shining took a deep breath as the last box, was put away from the U-haul, as he turned around.

“Thanks for the help guy’s I appreciate it.” Shining said rubbing the back of his head,

“It’s no Problem, you’ve always helped us in our time of need, why shouldn’t we help you for something like this?” His dad said a big toothy grin. Sure a few teeth were missing and a few broken but it was a charming smile. Shining smirked more,

“Hey it’s no problem, and beside I’m sure you’ll be around to spoil the little one.”

“Oh you know your mother will but we’re here for you, just to make sure. If it becomes too much just call us and we’ll watch the little fella’s.” He patted his back.

“No problem, but beside that. I know Mom would have fun. Especially sending them at us after the hell I gave you guy’s.”

“Oh don’t you know it, we’re gonna turbo charge them with sugar.” Nightlight chuckled patting him on the back.

“Thanks, I’ll take care of the U-Haul if you want.”

“Nah I got it Shining, beside you’re mother can drive the Charger for me, you know how she is, always wanting to drive it. Even when I tell her not to she just wants to run off with that beast.”

They shared a tender laugh, while Shining would hand him the key’s the the U-haul.

“Well just try not to break the over do it.”

“Oh Come on Son I’ve got it.”

“Yeah, and if a Frog grew wings it wouldn’t bump its ass.”Nightlight laughed at his sons smart ass remark.

“Whatever you say, though we better get going otherwise you’re mom’s going to forget all about me and force me to walk home.”

“Well you better get going old man otherwise she’ll drive off.” Shining chuckled unaware of the events that would unfoil. Nightlight nodded taking the key’s and headed off. The moon shining brightly. Shining stood there alone for about a minute before he noticed Pinkie head sticking out the closet door.

“Are they gone?” Pinkie asked clearly looking unhinged, and ready to bounce out at any second. The way her eyes twitched emphasized it.

“Yes their gone you can come out now.” Shining said as the Gremlin jumped with joy bouncing out of the closet, as she ran around looking over the boxes. As she started taking a few that were Marked G, and running them down into the basement. Shining sighed slightly.

“I swear we’ve got a gremlin in the basement, I thought that was for trolls.” He snorted at the obviously bad joke as he moved over picking a few boxes up. He wondered when Cadence would come back home. A light sigh as he worried about her. Sure she was a goddess, but in a way she was his Goddess. As He moved over and put a few of the boxes off to the side. Shining began putting their bed up.

“Hmm you seem worry, Shiningny is it about the kittens?” Bast said slowly walking over to him, remaining the orange tabby though slowly transforming into a more anthro creature. Bast didn’t bother turning fully into a human cat hybrid and met it halfway.

“A bit, I admit I’m rather nervous. I mean, Demigod Children. I swear it— How can I say this.”

“Freaking the fuck out.”

“Basically, I mean seriously has anyone ever dealt with Raising Demigod children.” Shining muttered rubbing his temple. Bast moved in and slowly tubbing his shoulders. Her tail swishing back and forth rubbing his ear as she was reapplying his scent.

“I mean children of Zeus were able to handle themselves, at least till Hera finds them.”

“Yeah, though I mean what if I fuck up and screw them up. I’m not the best person in the world. Oh god, what if one of them turns insane.” He shuddered as he thought of what the worst thing he could do.

“You’ll be fine beside you have Cadence, and Me to help watch them kittens, also I’m sure Pinkie would be the wild Aunt.” Shining couldn’t help but give her a dirty look as Shining thought of the horror of if Pinkie had to watch his kid. What madness, that would bring on an eldric horror that would horrify Lovecraft himself.

“Good point. Though what I’m saying boy, is this. Just relax, you’ll be a fine father. Especially if you’re anything like you are in bed.” She winked at him as her tail slowly wrapped around his leg really getting him closer. Shining shuddered feeling her breast pressing against his back.

“Heh, are you just trying to get another worship session from me Bast.” Shining chuckled. While turning around. The cat face looking at him Big cute and adorable, As it slowly morphed around looking more human then feline.

“Can you blame me, boy. Being worshipped feels good. The way it feels to be filled with want and need. I gain some unintentionally, though thats not enough but someone worshiping me directly is the best feeling in the world.” The Cat goddess breathing was getting heavy as she bit her lips more. That was when the door opened and Shining looked over seeing Cadence a light huff as she looked over at the two of them.

“Cadence, its great to see you.” He moved away from Bast and walked straight towards Cadence. He reached over embrassing the goddess, with a hefty smile. Cadence sighed gently.

“Shining I think I need to head to bed I’ve had a rough day.” She moved away clearly not effectionate at the moment, which caused Shining more worry.

“Do you wanna talk about it?” He muttered reaching over to rub her side though Cadence moved away.

“Not really, just some information and all. It’s Bast, night you should spend some time with her.” She headed to the kitchen as she started making a peanut butter sandwich Shining watched her walk off for a minute while looking back towards Bast. It was her night but the fact was something was wrong with Cadence, and the ping of guilt rolled over him. He looked over towards Bast for a moment. The Cat Goddess, let out a sigh as she moved in and gave him a long passionate kiss. Shining felt her tongue moving against his slightly rough against his.

“You can make it up for me later tonight.” She muttered swatting his ass for a second while Shining nodded and moved off towards his and Cadence’s room.

Cadence was sitting in the fully set up bed, the covers not on yet but she just got nice and comfortable as she began chewing on her sandwhich.

“Hey there,” Shining said while sticking his head in from the hallway. Cadence waved with a long sigh as she was eating away, Shining walked inside giving a warm smile following in,

“Just wanted to check on you Babe,”

“Yeah, though shouldn’t you be with Bast, she’s been waiting for her turn for a while.” Cadence sighed as she looked over towards the wall,

“We decided to take a rain-check, beside I couldn’t leave you alone while you’re upset.”

“You didn’t have to do that.” Cadence muttered depressed as she took another bite.

“I know but I wanted to beside I’m here for you. So whats got you troubled?” Shining muttered a smile on his face, that almost made Cadence wanna scream, or cry… Maybe both. She felt very hormonal.

“It’s…” She stopped there for a second, she wasn’t sure what to say, tell him that he might be destined to die, and that there was nothing she could do about it. Try and save him but would ultimatly fail. That he might not have a life with their child. Though she thought more about it and remembered what else had happened the people she reaped.

“I had to reap a child, he was so small, his mother wasn’t able to take care of him— Maybe she didn’t want to but I saw this child in bed sick— He just laid there crying wanting his mother to hold him but she was sitting on the couch doing nothing just zoned out without a care in the world. While it screamed for help. I reaped it letting my cold hands wave over releasing it from his little suffering. I’ve had to reap children, it happens but— it hurt so much, it made me think. Will I be a bad mother? Will I just lay there while my child is sick not being able to do anything… Will I be the one who has to reap my own baby if they die?” she suddenly found herself crying hard her hand’s in her face as she felt herself breaking down. But Shining he slowly moved in rubbing her shoulder.

“It’s alright, you won’t be a bad mother, beside you’ll have me and I won’t let anything happen to you or the Baby, I promise you.” He reached over wrapping his arms around her embracing the goddess, as she continued to cry. She was a goddess, a powerful being with the power over death and the desire of mortals. But right now, she felt so weak and powerless. She was thankful for Shining, and in many ways he found her, more then the idea of her finding him. Thought the words he’ll be there almost made her want to scream.

They would be that way for a few hours, till Cadence found herself falling asleep in his arms, and falling deeply into a dreamless sleep, a world where the gods rested. Free from their duties, and hidden from even the likes of mans prayers.

Shining would sit there for a moment watching her finally fall asleep, and let out a sigh of relief, and he would pull himself up and begin heading out of the room. Cadence was comfortable and asleep in bed. Now he had to go and check on Bast.

Bast was sitting in the livingroom, filing her nails as she leaned back on the couch. Clearly more human at this point yet still having cat like features as she tapped her foot. Shining could notice Pinkie walking out with a box in her hand as she was heading towards her room.
