The capital of Equestria was once again crowded with many ponies, they were not crowded in the castle but the Gifted Unicorn School, which was the oldest school that still opening nowadays. The school was opened by Princess Twilight for the unicorns to study magic. Although it wasn't the only school located in Canterlot, Gifted Unicorn School was still one of the most attractive schools in this overpopulated city.

This Unicorn school wasn't famous because it was founded by the kingdom ruler, but because this place educated many talented unicorns. After graduated, they had done many great things to serve their beloved country and some even became the princess's most trusted advisors.

Founded in Harmony Era, going through hundreds of years, the school had changed a lot in appearance. The classes were expanded and built to allowed teachers to educate more unicorns in a class. There were also more areas for the children to learn more about the other topics. The school also put in realistic and library classes for the students to research more.

Every year the school opened, it always crowded with many unicorn foals along with their parents, waiting for their test. This school year also had the same rule, many unicorns filly crowded in the hallway, many of them nervously waited for their turns to come.

"Number 23, please come in," Said one of the teachers as the door opened, reviewing a unicorn with deep purple fur and gray mane covered by a white line around the edge. "You are Shady Moon, right?"

"Yes, it's me, ma'am," said the unicorn politely.

"Ok, come here. Your test is hatching this egg." said one of the examiner.

"Yes, ma'am" replied Shady, who tried to use her magic. Despite her tries, she was just able to call out some sparks, looking at the teachers' faces, she began feeling nervous. The teachers still looked at her, they seem lost their patient and would mark her fail, an unexpected event happened. A rainbow appeared made her lost control of her magic which became wild and blasted randomly. They hit the examiners and turned them into objects, the room was filled with chaos until a deep black Alicorn teleported into the room and put a hoof on the young unicorn shoulder, and whispered to her.

"It's ok, now. Just calm down, everything will be ok" said Nightmare Moon to the unicorn as the magic stopped, turning the ponies back to their original forms.

The unicorn slowly landed on the ground and blinked her eyes a few times to see the Moon princess stood in front of her. Looking around the room, she noticed the mess she made in her test, she folded her ears, readying for her fail. But it wasn't like she expected, the princess's words made her surprised.

"You did a good job on your test, which had shown your talent on magic. Do you want to be my personal student?" asked the Night princess in a gentle voice.

"Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes" the deep purple unicorn shouted as she jumped around her, which reminded her about the little sister she had.

"Ok, may I know your name, please?" asked Nightmare Moon politely. "And can I meet your parents? I want to ask them about their permission for you to stay here."

"My name is Shady Moon, and about my parents, they weren't here, I came here myself because they were so busy with their works."

"What a wonderful name" Praised Nightmare when she heard the unicorn name " I feel sorry about your family, you can stay here with me if you want, we can spend time with each other, studying about magic and many more."

"I accept, Princess" chirped the deep purple unicorn.

--------------------_______________ 2 days after the test _______________------------------

The princesses had discussed the newest student, Twilight agreed to give her a room for her own and even gave her permission to access the Canterlot achieve like her other personal students. But unlike them, she didn’t care about the study, instead, the unicorn spent most of her time playing or talking with the ponies in the castle. Due to her sister's words, Shady was lack of family affection, so that was why she let the unicorn did what she wanted as long as it didn’t bother the servants, it was ok because she was adapting to this new environment.

The first school day of the year started yesterday and Shady was led into the chosen class, which was prepared for talented unicorns who got good marks while doing the test. The unicorn seems very active and sociable in this whole new class. ‘It’s going to be a good start for her.’ Thought Nightmare Moon when she saw her in astronomy class, which Twilight specially made for her. But it also meant that Twilight’s classes would be lessened than usual, which was a good thing for Twilight after years of either teaching and ruling alone.

In the past, there weren’t many ponies interested in her beautiful night sky, but right now, standing around her were many unicorn fillies, asking her many questions. They seem interested in this subject, as they confessed, the fillies were more active at night than in the morning, because that was when they could freely play after school although it didn’t mean that they didn’t enjoy Twilight’s classes. The younger Alicorn was very happy to help them if they had any problem with the new teachers.

Shady had made some friends in the class, and she was happy about it, they created “the astronomy researcher group” for those who wanted to know more about the subject, the unicorns even convinced her to open an extra class after school for everypony going there to watch and study about her night sky. To the Night princess, it was the most wonderful idea for her to show this new kingdom that how beautiful her night was. But what she didn’t know that was the beginning of an evil plan, which was made to overthrow the rulers.
