Family bond between changeling and pony

The royal sisters sat in their dining area, memorize their time together. Since the elder princess return, the sisters had spent their time together to help Nightmare got back to the new modern life in Canterlot.

"Sister, you can't just stay here with me all day, you still got your work, not normal work, but a country to rule. You can't just waste your time like that" Argued the Moon princess to Twilight.

"But sister, I am the one who knows you the best, if not me who can do this? You just back here for a while and now you ask me to leave you alone, in a completely new world for you."

"But, little star. You still have Equestria, you can't just put it aside like that, even if it affects your work."

"Ok, sister. I'll leave but that doesn't mean I'll let you alone, your niece will be here soon enough" Exiting the room, the younger sister turned to the guards "I'll leave you to take care of her. Also, inform my daughter and her friends come here to keep my sister company, I'll be back soon to check on her."

"Yes, your highness" Replied the guards as one of them went to inform the changeling.

------------------______________Canterlot Castle-5 days after Nightmare Moon’s return______________-----------------

The castle used to have a bleak atmosphere, which saddened the Sun princess for years, without her sister, she had to handle both her sister’s and her own duties. But thank her daughter and her friends, her Moony was back to her again. They could be just like before, share their memory, take care of each other.

Everything was fine since Nightmare Moon return, everypony seems to welcome her back to Equestria, some even came to Twilight's court to ask some questions about the elder Alicorn. The only problem was Nightmare hadn’t forgiven herself for what she had done. Although with the younger sister’s and her daughter’s help, she still couldn’t forgive herself. The elder Princess hated herself because she nearly hurt her sister, who she promised to love and protect with all power, which she felt herself didn’t fulfill the duty as big sister. She regretted that her hasty actions had ruined their relationship, which left a scar on her little sister's heart for over a thousand years.

But luckily, she had forgiven her for left her little behind. Instead of avoided her, Twilight wanted to be with her again. The younger sister helped her with all her heart, only to help her adapt to the community and modern daily life. The Sun princess even sent her adopted daughter and her students to accompany her, talking, playing and even studying with her. The young changeling even told her about her daily life with her friends.

After a few days, they had become friends, Nightmare had slowly forgiven herself for what she had done and became happier than before. Twilight was happy about that because her free time wasn’t much, her big sister still needed some rest after her return from the Moon, so the works were still her until the elder sister was good enough to back to her duties.

The morning in Equestria was usually full of petitioners, but today was different. The sole ruler of Equus had canceled all of her appointments to spend more time with her sister. Passing the long and big hallway of the castle, walked through the Sun side of the castle, Twilight had finally arrived at her sister’s room on the Moon side. Knocked on the door a few times until she heard a voice.

“Please come in” Said Nightmare inside the room.

“Hi, sister I’m back again” Said Twilight, who opened the door and entered the room only to see her sister laid on her bed reading a book “Today I’m free of duty so I’ll spend time with you, did you enjoyed your time with your niece.?”

“How did you free from your duties? There would be a lot without me. And yes, I enjoyed her company, she is such a sweet and innocent child.”

“I managed to finish all yesterday so I can spend time with you, of course. It wasn’t easy but I should spend more time with you than bother my daughter and her friends here all day.”

“Fine, but you are still just like a child, my little star. You cared for everypony else rather than caring for yourself, looks like you are still too young to rule alone, sister, you shouldn’t sacrifice yourself for everypony’s sake like that, you need time for your own sake. It’s all I wanted to tell you.” Sighed Nightmare as she continued “I’ll back to work tomorrow to help you with your royal duties.”

“Are you sure? You hadn’t returned within a week. I’m not sure if you will be ok.”

“That again, huh sister? You cared for me too much, even though I was the older one. I knew what is the best for you and me.”

“Yes, my ‘big sister knew what is the best’ just forced me to blast her to the Moon for a thousand years then gone back and tried to kill me” Said Twilight as she rolled her eyes at the elder Alicorn sentence.

“I know what to do now. At that time I wasn’t thinking clearly and was controlled by my emotions. You can’t blame me, you know what people can do when they are jealous right? You were loved by many ponies while I was feared, they avoided me, hated me. It made me felt isolated from the community and made me angry whenever I thought about that.”

“You were right, it was hard to accept that” Said Twilight, who empathetic to her sister's past.

“And that wasn’t all, I think you will know this more than anypony. When you do everything to satisfied your ponies but only got nothing more than hatred. You tried your best to prove yourself and they paid my kindness with pain. It hurt, it hurt so much.”

“I know, sister. But that passed long ago. Let it just be the past, you can't change it anyway, all we have right now are the present and future, which we could change for the better. When you were gone, I tried my best to change Equestria for you, I only wanted to see you back here to be loved by ponies just like me, then we can be sisters again and live our life like before.”

“You are right, sister. Maybe I should forget that sad past of me and head to a better future. From what I can see from your efforts were the nowadays Equestria was different from the old a lot. The ponies were lovely, sharing and caring more than jealous of each other. To me, that was a big change and also an achievement for you. You had proven yourself a lot. You one thousand years ago wouldn’t this grown.”

“Sister, you mean I was a naive pony at that time?.” Blushed Twilight at Nightmare’s praise “I wasn’t that childish.”

“Of course not, I mean you weren’t this mature. Look like my absence had given you many experiences.”

“Sister, it wasn’t fun when ruling alone.” Argued Twilight against her sister

“I know, I know but it actually helped you a lot.” The Moon goddess replied.

Suddenly, the opened door sound got their attention. Looking at the source, they recognized who entered the room, Chrysalis. The changeling seems surprised by her mother present in the room. ‘That was weird, mother should be in court right now’

“Mother? Why are you here? You are supposed to be in the throne room right now.” Asked Chrysalis as she tried to find a reason for her mother's unexpected appearance in the room “I’m really sorry if I disturbed your talking.” The young changeling turned to the door only to be stopped by her mother.

“I forgot to tell you, today I decided to spend a day with your aunt. Come here and talk with us, dear.” The changeling nodded.

“Ok, mom. what were you and auntie Moon talking about.”

“Nothing much, my beloved niece. Just some precious memories we shared” Answered Nightmare to Chrysalis’ question.

“Look like just after a week my little daughter had earned my sister love and respect. My sister rarely let anypony get close to her so you know, except me no one can reach her without earning her trust, especially from the start of the first Blood Moon in Equestria. You and your friends were the only ones who earned it this fast exclude me. I hope you three will accompany her for me while I was gone doing the duty.”

“Of course, mother. Auntie Moon was great, she told me a lot about her. How could ponies hate a pony like her, she was so good.” The Moon Princess blushed.

“That was good, you and my sister can study each other more. Maybe you can help her in the future with her difficulties, which I couldn’t help her.”

“I’ll try my best, mom.” Nodded Chrysalis.

------------------______________Nightmare Moon’s return Party______________-----------------

The Sun Princess had secretly prepared for her sister, which she could go out of her room and contact with more ponies. Also, the younger princess wanted her sister to answer the question of ponies by herself, which could help her understand more about the new Equus.

With Chrysalis’ help, Twilight successfully hid it from the elder Alicorn, the changeling did a good job to disturb her while she looked for the things her sister liked, usually Night design. The party had decorated perfectly, the only thing she needed was the main character of the show.

Informed the young changeling princess to guide the Moon Princess to the party, Twilight quickly told the servants and the guests to prepare for her arrival. A while later, the door opened, stepped into thedarkroomm was a confused Nightmare Moon and widely smiled Chrysalis. The light turned up, everypony cheered at the elder Princess while the younger hugged her.

“Surprise! I made it especially for you.” Smiled the purple Alicorn to her sister “The main intention for this party was to let you make more contact with other ponies, and also in the past week since your return, many ponies asked me several questions about you, I wanted you to answer yourself but you weren’t available at the moment so I organize this party. I hope you will enjoy it.”
