Rarity Gets Stuck In A Mirror

An egg cracked as it had dropped to the ground by a clumsy pink pony. She sheepishly tittered, scooping back up with a spoon and tossing it inside a trashcan. She went back to stirring her bowl of cake batter until she got interrupted again by a slender stallion entering the place.

This had made Pinkie Pie drop her spoon into the cake batter and growled in frustration, stretching out her eyelids. She turned around to put on a happy face for her guest.

''Hello, Muddy!'' she chirped. ''What can I do for you?''

''Yes,'' said Mud Briar nonchalantly. ''Hello, Pinkie Pie. I was wondering if you know where your sister Maud had run off to?''

Pinkie Pie raised an eyebrow. ''You mean she's not at her place?''

''I have already looked there and,'' Mud Briar trailed off as he shook his head.

Pinkie Pie rubbed her chin. ''Come to think of it, I went to Rarity's place yesterday and she wasn't in her boutique or in the whole of Ponyville either.'' She paused to gasp. ''What if they ran into danger?!''

The charismatic pony held Mud Briar by the shoulders which made his eyes spread out. Pinkie Pie bounced back into her position and shrugged as she continued stirring her bowl of cake batter with another spoon she had got from her mane, having Mud Briar slowly roll out his eyes and exit out of Sugar Cube Corner again.

Rarity's eyes slowly fluttered open and noticed a grey pony with dull purple mane and teal eyes standing in front of her. She yelped and threw herself in the air but got dropped back down.

''Oh. Hello, Maud. How are you on this delectable morning?'' Rarity chirped, letting out an exasperated yawn.

''Hello, Rarity. I'm good. I hope I didn't startle you and had your perfect beauty rest.''

Rarity smiled as she got up from the ground. ''Of course not, darling, and I did.''

''Well, that's good because I was just discovering all night for a shortcut to the staff of teleportation to Equestria.''

There were eyebags visibly displayed under Maud's eyes. This had made Rarity wince but smiled sheepishly.

''You mean you haven't slept all night?'' Rarity spoke.

Maud blinked. ''No, but we should probably start trotting, or else ponies back home will start to get worried.''

Rarity smiled and nodded, trotting toward Maud's side. Maud gave a bag to the white unicorn which was made out of leaves. Even though it wasn't very pleasant, she could still buy it since they are in a dusty cave at the moment. Rarity peeked inside her bag to discover gems stocked up. She lifted up her head to smile at the grey earth pony who had returned it back. Rarity was shocked to discover this. Maybe Maud isn't so bad after all.

Maud paused her trotting as she had felt nothing inside her bag made out of leaves she had also created for herself. Maud's eyes widened, turning back to see a small rock laying on top of a leaf. Rarity breathed a sigh of relief as Maud trotted towards the rock to fetch it and place it inside her saddlebag.

They both continued trotting in the right direction with Rarity drawing a line behind her with the pointy side of one of her gems, just in case they end up getting lost, which they would doubt, still, Rarity couldn't be too sure of Maud. Since she has never been here, Maud had approved the line being drawn behind them.

During their trot, they had sniffed steam below their nuzzles. Rarity grunted, swiping away the smoke from her face. Maud slowly raised an eyebrow as she turned around to look at a terrifying creature drooling spit on top of them. Maud and Rarity's eyes widened in horror.

''Oh my,'' Rarity muttered. ''Again?!''

''Run,'' Maud declared. And they did. They ran as fast as they could and tried increasing the pressure of their hooves but this creature was a lot faster than the other.

There was a spiderweb blocking the path, but Maud dodged under it, whereas Rarity ran straight towards it as she hadn’t seen the webbing. Rarity cried out for help and Maud came back and bounced onto the spiderweb sticking to it. She pulled a gem from her saddlebag and cut Rarity free of the webbing. Maud then cut the webbing from her hooves and dropped back to the ground.

She started running alongside Rarity as they both took a huge sigh of a combination of exasperation and frustration. Rarity took a peek to glance at the horrid beast from behind but quickly faced back.

''What is that dreaded beast doing here, again?!'' she squealed, frightened.

''Not again,'' Maud corrected. ''This is a different creature, I've read about them. These creatures are called Murtlap and they are attracted to leaves. We have to find the staff of destination fast before we get killed.''

Rarity's eyes widened in shock. ''We aren't really going to get killed, are we?!''

''Only when we don't run fast enough,'' Maud said as she paced the speed of her running up a bit.

Unfortunately, both of the ponies had reached a dead end and the horrid beast had managed to step in front of them. Rarity shot a death glare at the grey earth pony but realized she wasn't looking at her but at a wall.

''Maud, darling, what are you doing now?!''

Maud was drawing her ear close to the wall and tapping on it. She soon got out a gem and drew an 'X' on the wall. Soon after, Maud stepped back and pushed her hooves onto the wall, laying so much pressure on them to form a crack and cause destruction. Rarity coughed due to the dust caused by the destruction. Maud yanked the white unicorn beneath as the beast roared.

They both glanced at each other whilst Rarity had a blush on her cheek. They ran inside the tunnel that Maud had created. As soon as they got inside, Maud moved a big rock to block the entrance to prevent the creature from coming inside. They both released a sigh of relief until their eyes were flashed golden. They turned around to see a floating object.

Rarity gasped, trotting towards it. ''Is this it?''

''Only one way to find out,'' said Maud bluntly as she grabbed the staff and waved it around them. Before they could blink, a huge light had flashed to them in their eyes.

In Ponyville Carousel Boutique, Rarity and Maud had found themselves standing in the middle of Rarity's bedroom and in front of the mirror. They both glanced at each other and at their surroundings, releasing sighs of relief that they were finally somewhere safe and at home no less.

''We're home safe!'' Rarity exclaimed, collapsing to the ground due to exhaustion.

Meanwhile, the door had crashed open by a unicorn filly which made Rarity stand up from the ground and dust herself off. Rarity gasped, racing towards her sister to approach her with a warm embrace. She levitated her into the air with her magic.

''Sweetie Belle!'' Rarity yelled. ''Oh, I've missed you so much. Now, were you behaving good whilst I was gone?''

The unicorn filly darted her eyes towards both sides of the room. ''Uh, sure but where were you for two days?''

Rarity sighed, looking at Maud and then at the mirror. ''I think we should toss this mirror out, don't you think?''

Sweetie Belle interrupted Maud's nodding. ''What? But Pinkie Pie gave you that as an early birthday present!''

''Yes, but it's too dangerous!'' Rarity declared. ''Besides, she can give me another birthday present if she wants to. I mean, she always does every year.''

The door crashed open again but this time there were grey and pink earth ponies. Unfortunately, Pinkie Pie had heard everything she needed to hear and let the stream flow through her nostrils.

''RARITY!!!'' Pinkie Pie shouted, breathing heavily and aggressively.

''Oh. Hello, Pinkie Pie. How are you today?'' Rarity asked sweetly.

''WHY DO YOU WANT TO THROW AWAY MY MIRROR I HAVE GIVEN TO YOU AS AN EARLY BIRTHDAY PRESENT?! AND WHERE WERE YOU FOR FORTY-NINE HOURS?!''

Maud blinked, glancing at Rarity and trotting over her sister to place a comforting hoof on her shoulder for her to calm down. ''Let's just say it was a long story.''

Pinkie Pie zoomed off to get some popcorn and a comfortable seat to sit in. ''Well, we have all the day to listen.'' She glanced at Mud Briar who was staring blankly in space. ''Uh, do we?''

Mud Briar nodded, as Maud and Rarity also took a seat and started to tell their long journey.

''Wow!'' Pinkie Pie uttered. ''That was one looong story!''

''I told you,'' Maud said.

Pinkie Pie made a joyful bounce and made a big leap into the air to drag her sister and her white unicorn friend into a tight hug. ''And I am so happy you two are finally getting along! Eek!''

''Yes, well, it took so much effort for me to finally understand Maud,'' said Rarity with a smile.

A small smile started to form on the grey earth pony's face too which had made Pinkie Pie's face lit up.

''AHHH!'' Pinkie Pie screamed. ''The first smile in forever I have seen on Maud!'' She zoomed to Rarity's side to shake her hoof. ''Thank you, Rarity.''

Rarity softly smiled. ''No problem. But what I don't understand is how this mirror had gotten into the furniture shop in the first place.''

There was silence around the room as everypony was pondering to themselves. Until a draconequus conveyed into the room and conjured up a bag of popcorn but instead of popcorn, it was sweets. He chuckled to himself hysterically.

Pinkie Pie gasped, pointing a hoof at the draconequus accusingly. ''It was him!''

Discord was taken aback by this and placed a paw to his chest to seem offended. He scoffed, crossing his arms across his chest disapprovingly. Everypony was sending him death stares.

''What?''

In the middle of the Everfree Forest, a big red muscular stallion was lifting a giant boulder (or shall I say Tom) against his back as a violet alicorn was levitating the magical mirror into the hole that had the mirror pond along with it. Soon after, Twilight removed the boulder from Big Macintosh's back with her magic and placed it on top of the hole.

Meanwhile, a draconequus was resting himself on a tree branch above while eating a cookie with the topping of mayonnaise as he was eavesdropping on the ponies below. He was laughing to himself hysterically and turning himself into a snake for emphasis until a rainbow-maned blue pegasus flew over to his side to shake her head disapprovingly.

Discord shrugged, pretending to look innocent until Princess Celestia and Princess Luna flew over to them to give the draconequus a fearful death stare. Even though Discord never showed his emotions, he was still terrified by the fact that these princesses of Equestria were angry with him, something they haven't been feeling towards him ever since he created Equestria into a world of chaos. But Discord was pretty sure what they were angry about with him.

''You, sir, is going to be in a lot of trouble,'' Celestia declared angrily.

''I mean, endangering Rarity and Maud? Seriously?!'' Luna said as she shook her head.

At Sugar Cube Corner, Pinkie Pie was shifting a camera in place properly to begin her cooking show. She put on an apron on her pink silky body and also pulled out a spoon from her sentient poofy mane. She also got out a bowl and all of the baking equipment she would be needing in the process at the moment.

''There!'' Pinkie Pie exclaimed. ''Now I can finally start my cooking show without any distractions this time.''

She got out a recipe book from one of her shelves to see which cake she shall be baking today. She had found a recipe for double chocolate fudge cake which had made Pinkie Pie drool over on the page but snapped herself out of her salivating trance.

A recipe for a double chocolate fudge cake:

Firstly, you have to grease a bar of butter into the bowl and add one hundred and seventy-five grams of self-raising flour with extra for dusting.

Secondly, you have to append cocoa powder into the mix as well as one tablespoon bicarbonate of soda along with it. Add a hundred grams of golden caster sugar into the bowl you’re currently putting ingredients in then add fifty grams of soft brown sugar into the mix.

Thirdly, you have to pour in one hundred and fifty milliliters of sunflower oil and do the same amount for milk, to be precise, put in the whole carton of the milk.

Fourthly, you have to add two tablespoons of vanilla extract and the same amount for golden syrup whilst adding two large eggs.

Lastly, once you have followed all of these steps and put the ingredients into a bowl along with it, place the bowl of batter into the oven and set the timer for approximately twenty-five minutes.

Once you are done, take the bowl out of the oven with oven mittens to make sure you don’t burn yourself due to its warm temperature on the bowl’s surface, and then add whatever toppings you would like to add on with your freshly baked cake.

Once Pinkie Pie had followed all of these steps, she had then placed the bowl of batter into the oven. She set the timer for approximately twenty-five minutes and waited by next to it.

She was getting bored leaning onto the oven until a draconequus crashed through the door.

''Discord!'' she shouted through her gritted teeth. ''What are you doing here?!''

''Never mind about that,'' said Discord. ''I just want to create Celestia's throne into a massive trampoline and the whole of Canterlot into cheese. Starlight had signed up for it but since she is busy with the School of Friendship, I wondered if I go to you and ask if you'd like to join me?''

Pinkie Pie stared at him blankly until a huge sly grin spread across her face.
