Private Johnson, a U.S. Marine, was fighting terrorists in Afghanistan, when a huge explosion knocks him out. When he wakes up, he's in a strange land where humans are nothing more then myths and ponies are the dominant species. Afterwards, he turns into a pony himself, taking the name of Brave Hoof. He wakes up with military gear on, but it is not human technology. He follows a dirt road and is welcomed home by an entire town of ponies, as well as a tall alicorn. He later finds out that the land is also at war with creatures known as Changelings. With no hope of returning home to his family, he decides to help the ponies and push them back.
