Three years after the retirement of Celestia and Luna...

Twilight had recently found a spell to restore the Elements of Harmony to their forms as jewels. She placed them in a glass case in her castle's library, and then created a plaque that said what they were and who represented each one.

Twilight was making her rounds in Canterlot when she felt something on her flank. She looked at her cutie mark to see it glowing and vibrating. She was confused because the map had not summoned her or either of her friends for a long time now. She hurried to her castle, and saw that the map was not the reason. She could hear what sounded like energy moving, but she did not know where. She followed the sound into the library and then saw something strange going on with the Elements of Harmony. The gem for hers had detached from the tiara and was floating towards her. It seated itself in the tip of her crown. Then, came what she was not expecting at all. Six beams of energy emanated from the center of the circle and split it into sections. For some reason, the Elements had been split up. She had no idea why this had happened, but she was determined to find out.
