The New Princesses of Equestria

Rainbow had retired from the Wonderbolts and was returning from a vacation when she heard the sound of thunder cracking. Looking around, she was confused because there were no dark clouds. Suddenly, she heard a loud bang of thunder. Looking upward and in front of her, she saw a massive cloud, and had no time to react before a rainbow colored lightning bolt came streaking down and hit her between the eyes. She was blinded by the flash and the shock caused her to pass out. When she woke up, she was in the hospital.

Nurse Redheart told her that she had not suffered any fractures, but she was out for two days. She was checked out after her vitals had returned to normal later that day. As she began flying home, she felt a sudden burst of energy in her veins and she began flying faster than ever. She began to panic and flew up to a cloud to rest.

She thought that she could calm herself down by doing one of her favorite things: a Sonic Rainboom. She flew up from the cloud and suddenly shot towards the ground, not knowing she had produced a rainboom when she started moving. As she flew faster towards the ground, she arched her wings to go towards the Everfree Forest. She closed her eyes to keep out dust, and then she felt the air getting thicker as she neared the point of the boom. Suddenly, she heard the sound of electricity as the Rainboom went off. Her wings began to ache, and she pulled them in. As she glided down, she turned her head to see her Rainboom, but then her eyes grew large and her mouth fell open. She had done what nopony would ever expect: TWO RAINBOOMS IN ONE!!

She touched down and skidded to a stop in the dirt. She then felt a sudden amount of loyalty in her heart, and an orb of light appeared around her. Beams began circling her body and she felt a piercing pain in her forehead. When the light cleared, she was dizzy and her wings felt stronger and more powerful somehow. Curious about why she felt a pain in her head, she found a puddle from a recent rainstorm. When she saw herself, she was rendered speechless. She had sprouted a horn. Then, regal robes made of rainbows began appearing above her and floating down and onto her body. Then, she felt a crown nestle itself in her mane, the jewel was her element gem for Loyalty.

She then heard a voice in her head. It sounded echoey and far away.

"You are Rainbow Dash. You are now the Princess of Loyalty."
