Challenges Before The Journey's End

As soon as class ended it was time for Turquoise and her friends from the jewelry box to head to the Anime club for the moment Amber and Moonstone have been waiting for. As soon as they got there Ace was happy to see them.
“You ladies are just in time for the reveal,” Ace said before showing them the two sketches. One was a sketch of Amber dressed in a black and blue lolita dress with a symbol of a shield on the left arm and a gold medium-sized jewel shield that was projecting energy and the other was Moonstone wearing a pink and white lolita dress with a red cross on the armband on the right sleeve. “Meet Lucy Nightshade of the Defense Legion and Clair Candina of the Medic legion. Amber and Moonstone were taking to the backroom to change. As soon as they came out each of them posed for their intros into the story. Moonstone’s would be finished next week since Amber’s intro was up first. As soon as everything for the fourth installment was complete everyone went home for the day. As soon as Turquoise got home her parents were waiting for her.
“Welcome home Turquoise,” Ruby said in a serious tone which made Turquoise feel a bit uneasy.
“Is something wrong mom?” Turquoise asked worriedly before her mom had her follow her to Bullet’s study. As soon as they got there Ruby told Turquoise to have a seat before Bullet spoke.
“We noticed your grades are beginning to slip,” Bullet said while showing the C- on her latest math test, The D on her Science test, and the D on her history test.
“The standardized test is coming up next month so maybe the stress is getting to me,” Turquoise said.
“No excuses young lady, Regardless of what you use as your last name for your girl self your a Bullet now, and as a Bullet I expect you to have good grades,” Bullet said firmly.
“I’m working my hardest, I study with Haruka and the girls every day during lunch,” Turquoise pleaded.
“Maybe that is why you are failing because we have given you too much freedom,” Bullet said before Ruby chimed in.
“Which is why until you get those grades up you are not allowed to hang with your friends or attend that club you enjoy so much which means your coming straight home after school and nowhere else,” Ruby said before also adding that they cleared out her room and placed everything in a secure location for now. As soon as she was dismissed the maids escorted Turquoise back to her room and confiscated her phone. All she had left was her furniture, books, and the display case with her sailor Neptune Cosplay. Suddenly Turquoise remembered the secret she built into both of the two outfits she made long ago.
Meanwhile, outside the mansion, Haruka and the others were trying to get in only for security to stop them.
“Sorry ladies but Mr. and Mrs.Bullet gave us instructions to keep you off the property until further notice,” The guard said.
“And why is that?” Autumn demanded.
“That is classified now beat it before we have you arrested for trespassing,” The guard said threateningly which cued the girls to leave. The girls decided to move their get-together to Haruka’s place to try and figure out what is going on. As soon as they were all in Haruka’s room they began talking.
“What has gotten into Turquoise’s parents?” Autumn said.
“I don’t know maybe Turquoise can enlighten us?” Haruka said.
“No dice she is not answering her phone or responding to my texts,” Sylvia said.
“Well there goes the easy way,” Serena said. Suddenly they heard a sound coming from Haruka’s closet that was a low pitch. Haruka went in and noticed the gem on the bow of her old Sailor Uranus outfit was glowing.
“What is it Haruka?” Autumn asked.
“Girls I think we shall get some answers,” Haruka said before pulling on the gem revealing a speaker with a button on it. After pressing the button Turquoise’s voice was heard.
“Neptune to Uranus can you hear me?” Turquoise asked.
“We hear you Turquoise,” Haruka said.
“Good it still works,” Turquoise said before continuing. “Listen up I don’t have much time to explain since my parents will be checking up on me in five minutes.
“Can you tell us what is going on?” Autumn asked.
“My parents were dissatisfied with my recent grades so they grounded me,” Turquoise said.
“Of course now it all makes sense, The guard’s attitude towards us, you not answering your phone, they are trying to keep us away,” Haruka said.
“Anyway, I must go now since I hear them coming,” Turquoise said before cutting the line.
“What exactly was that we just saw?” Serena asked.
“You see back when Turquoise and I were kids we had this neighbor who loved to fiddle with electronics and he taught us how to wire and make stuff,” Haruka said before continuing. “ Turquoise had this idea to make the gems on our bows into communicators which she kept strictly between us.
“Then why would she use it now?” Autumn asked.
“My guess is they took all her stuff so she could focus on her studies which also included her phone so she risked everything on our secret communicators still working to inform us of the situation,” Haruka theorized.
“At least we can still see each other at school,” Sylvia said.
“Let’s not bet on that, You remember what happened to me when I got grounded for the same thing?” Haruka asked.
“Your parents temporarily took you out of school and we had to bring you your homework for two weeks,” Serena said which sparked something in her. “You don’t think Turquosie’s parents would do the same thing do you?”
“Who knows but we best be careful or else their influence might get our parents as well,” Haruka said. And so for the next week, Turquoise was forced to distance herself from her friends at school for their safety and studied by herself. It was now Friday morning and Turquoise was taking her math test which was her first hurdle. At first, she got stuck on a few of the problems but luckily was able to finish on time. Minutes later Mr.Drake was handing everyone their tests by placing them facedown on their desks. As soon as everyone had their tests and flipped them faceup Turquoise was surprised to see she got a 98 this time which was an A. Her next test was in Science which was a sink or swim moment for her since her last test earned her a D. Luckily she learned some of this stuff from the Science Zone at Seven Star Nations. Sometime later after time was up and the tests were graded Turquoise received hers and saw she earned 100 which impressed her teacher.
“Where have you been my best student,” The teacher asked. With two tests down and only one to go, it was now lunchtime and this time Turquoise sat with her friends for the first time in a week.
“How are your tests going so far?” Autumn asked.
“So far I managed to get a 98 on my math test and 100 on my science test,” Turquoise said.
“What is your final Test?” Sylvia asked.
“History,” Turquoise said.
“Think you can ace this one too?” Serena asked.
“I better or else this might be our final time seeing each other,” Turquoise said.
“You got this just keep at it and hopefully we will see you again soon,” Haruka said. As soon as lunch ended Turquoise marched towards her History Class and as soon as was seated the test began. This one proved slightly harder than the other two but she pressed on. Sometime later after all the tests were graded Turquoise was shocked to see she scored another 100. As soon as school ended Turquoise was picked up from school by her usual shofar since her parents fordid her to drive herself to school while grounded. As soon as she got home her parents were waiting for her.
“Let’s see those results,” Bullet said before Turquoise handed her tests to him. After looking them over he and Ruby gave their verdict.
“We are impressed,” Ruby said.
“Other than that 98 so am I,” Bullet said.
“Come on we all can’t be perfect,” Ruby said.
“I guess your right,” Bullet said.
“So does this mean?” Turquoise asked hoping the answer was yes.
“You are officially ungrounded you may see your friends again,” Ruby said while handing Turquoise her phone back. As for all her stuff, the servants were bringing it all back to her room while she checked her phone which had several missed calls from Dan. She decided to call him and apologize for not calling back sooner. After a few seconds, Dan answered.
“Hello,” Dan said.
“Hi, dan sorry for missing your calls my parents grounded me,” Turquoise said hoping Dan would understand.
“What did you do?” Dan asked.
“My parents noticed that my grades were slipping and made sure I focused on my studies to raise them,” Turquoise said.
“Are you still grounded?” Dan asked.
“I just got my grades back up so I’m free again,” Turquoise said.
“That’s good and now that I have you there is something I want to ask you,” Dan said.
“Sure what is it?” Turquoise asked.
“There is an amine convention coming up in May at the Los Angeles Convention Center and I got us two passes so I was wondering if you would be interested in joining me?” Dan asked.
“Yes, Dan yes,” Turquoise said joyfully.
“Awesome I can’t wait to see what kind of cosplay you come up with,” Dan said before hanging up. Turquoise was excited for the first time in a week. Now she had something to motivate her to pass the Standardized Test.

Today was the first day of the State Standardized Test and everyone was feeling nervous Turquoise included. This was about to be the most challenging three days Turquoise ever faced. The students were all assigned rooms where the test was being held. Turquoise ended up in Room 214 while all her friends were in separate rooms. As soon as everyone was seated the proctor began explaining the rules which stated the students were only allowed to use the materials provided, The use of Electronic Devices was prohibited, and using one would result in automatic failure, And finally, when you finish one section in the workbook you may not start the next section until the proctor saids so. Many of the students wanted to tell the proctor they understood the rules but kept their mouths shut out of fear of being made an example of by the proctor. With the rules now covered the proctor gave the green light to begin. And so for the past ninety minutes, it was nothing but silence except for the sound of pencils tapping lightly on papers.

As soon as Turquoise arrived at school she noticed a bunch of students gathered by a huge board. On the board was the list of students who passed the standardized test for each of the three grades. As soon as Turquoise got upfront she saw her name along with all her friends’ names as well which meant everyone passed.
“We did it we made it,” Autumn said joyfully.
“We sure did,” Turquoise said.
“You all know what that means,” Sylvia said.
“That’s right we are all heading to the malt shop to celebrate,” Serena said joyfully.
“You girls have fun I have my operation scheduled for today,” Turquoise said.
“ We know that which is why we will be waiting outside the OR for you before the celebration,” Autumn said.
“You don’t have to do this,” Turquoise said.
“We insist, you are our friend and we want you to be with us when we celebrate,” Haruka said. After school ended Turquoise and the girls all left for the hospital. As soon as Turquoise checked in she was taken to the back to change into a teal robe before being wheeled in for surgery. As soon as the anesthesia knocked her out the operation began.
Meanwhile in the waiting room outside the OR Autumn and the others were waiting patiently for Turquoise. Suddenly Sapphire and the others arrived.
“Are we too late?” Sapphire asked.
“She is still in the OR we are waiting for her,” Sylvia said.
“That’s good because I have something I want to give her,” Ace said.
“What is it?” Serena asked.
“Let’s wait for Turquoise to come out first,” Ace said. Everyone was chatting amongst themselves for a good hour until the surgeon came out covered in blood.
“I must admit there were some close calls but she is going to be perfectly fine,” The surgeon said before Turquoise came out wearing her school uniform.
“What do you girls think,” Turquoise said with her new female voice which sounded more natural.
“You turned out perfectly,” Autumn said.
“Next stop the Malt shop,” Sylvia said before ace stopped them.
“Before that, I have something for Turquoise,” Ace said. “Turquoise Dusk you were the best model for my lead protagonist so this is for you to remember us by when we leave for college. Ace pulled out a gold pin that looked like the emblem for the Vanguard Legion and had her pin it to the bow of her uniform. Sapphire, Pettilite, Amber, and Moonstone each had pins for their respective Legions pinned to their bows too. After that was done the girls all left for the Malt shop.
Sometime later at a 50’s diner, Turquoise and her friends were all seated together as Pinkie brought them their malts and shakes. Autumn began by proposing a toast to passing the final standardized test they would have to worry about. After that, they drank and laughed while having fun
