Turquoise was excited for today because she is going to her first-ever anime convention with the love of her life. For the past couple of weeks, she has been working on her cosplay which involved a red long sleeve top with pink lining and big pink scale-like frills on the end of the sleeves, a matching skirt with a pink sash and green snake-like patterns on it, red heels, and finally a white navy coat with yellow shoulder pads with tassels. After changing into it she sat at her vanity and began tucking her long red hair into a wig cap then put on a pair of gold snake-shaped earrings. Finally, she placed a long black-haired wig that had parted bangs on her head. As soon as Turquoise finished getting dressed she packed her suitcase since she and Dan would be sharing a hotel room. As soon as she was all packed Ruby knocked on the door.

“Come in,” Turquoise said before Ruby came in.

“Dan is here for you,” Ruby said. Turquoise grabbed her luggage and followed Ruby to the Foyer. As soon as they got there Dan was waiting and was impressed with what Turquoise came up with.

“I see you decided to do Boa Hancock very nice,” Dan said.

“Now that I’m 100% female I don’t have to feel ashamed to do the sexy characters,” Turquoise said.

“Well in any case care to guess who I am,” Dan asked referring to his cosplay which consisted of a black coat with matching pants and shoes, a grey shirt, red gloves, black hair, and a white mask with black around the eyes over his eyes. It took Turquoise a moment to think until she remembered.

“Joker from Persona 5,” Turquoise said.

“Ding correct,” Dan said.

“Now remember you two no sexual intercourse of any kind,” Bullet said.

“Not a problem sir I promise not to try anything,” Dan said.

“We will hold you to that and Turquoise even if the boys hit on you promise me you won’t do anything violent unless it’s completely necessary,” Ruby said.

“I promise,” Turquoise said.

“Good now have fun and try to be back here by eight-thirty pm tomorrow, You still have eight days of school remaining,” Bullet said. Turquoise put her luggage in the back with Dan’s and as soon as she got in on the passenger seat side they were off. Since they had a three-and-a-half-hour drive Dan decided to pass the time with some conversation.

“So what made you want to cosplay as Boa Hancock?” Dan asked.

“I always liked her because out of the seven former warlords she was the only one I even cared about because she is much nicer than the others,” Turquoise said.

“I know what you mean. I never liked Moria, Doflamingo, or even Crocodile,” Dan said.

“I despise Moria the most because his powers make a mockery of human life, I say if the dead want to stay dead then we should just leave them alone,” Turquoise said.

“What about Brook?” Dan asked.

“He came back to fulfill the promise he and the Rumbar pirates made to Laboon so he is the exception,” Turquoise said.

“Dead aside who else from One Piece do you like?” Dan asked.

“I also like Nami and Robin,” Turquoise said.

“Any reason why you like the sexy girls?” Dan asked.

“Because I strive to be like them,” Turquoise said.

“You already are and you always will be to me,” Dan said.

“Thanks, Dan,” Turquoise said.

“So what are you looking forward to the most?” Dan asked.

“The Cosplay contest, I worked on this for weeks and made sure everything was as accurate as possible,” Turquoise said.

“You made that whole outfit all by yourself?” Dan asked.

“Everything except for the heels which luckily I had a perfect pair that matched the ones she wore in the anime,” Turquoise said.

“And your hair?” Dan asked.

“I borrowed the wig from Autumn and she helped me style it to match Boa’s hairstyle,” Turquoise said. Before the conversation could continue Dan noticed that he was almost out of gas and luckily found a Flaming Ace truckstop ahead of them. After pulling in Turquoise had to go but Dan told her to hold it since he didn’t want her walking into a den of horny men. After finishing up with the gas he swiped his card at the pump and took his receipt. They were on the road again and only ten minutes away from the Convention Center. They later reached a big building made up of glass paneling and a display screen flashing LA con 2022 on it. As soon as they parked and went inside Turquoise ran as fast as she could in heels to the bathroom. A bit later Turquoise came out ready for the convention. The two of them walked to the table and after showing the lady their VIP Passes they were each given a badge as well as a tote bag of free merchandise. As soon as they entered the hall they noticed a lot of stuff.

“So where to first my pirate empress?” Dan asked.

“Since we have time before the cosplay contest wanna check the Vendor Hall?” Turquoise asked.

“Sure,” Dan said. As soon as they entered the vendor hall they saw many tables set up. There was a lot of stuff but what really drew Turquoise in was a stand selling custom figurines of all the characters and rare blades from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

“How much for the figurines?” Turquoise asked.

“They are five bucks a pop how many do you want?” The guy behind the table asked.

“I will take one of each character,” Turquoise said while practically seeing the dollar signs in the guy’s eyes.

“In that case, fifty-nine figurines will come out to 295 dollars,” The guy said. Turquoise paid with three hundred dollar bills and got five dollars back as change.

“Where did you get that kind of money from?” Dan asked.

“I’m rich remember?” Turquoise said.

“I know that what I meant was where did you get it from?” Dan asked.

“Oh my mom pays me to help with her workload when she has big orders to fill from time to time,” Turquoise said. “ I even have a bank account with a credit card and everything now. Just as they were talking they ran into three girls Turquoise thought she would never see again after that grave injustice months ago. These girls were Raven, Blair, and Hilda dressed as classic Princess Zelda, Morrigan from Darkstalkers, and Juliet Starling from Lolipop Chainsaw.

“Long time no see Turquoise,” Raven said.

“What are you three doing here?” Turquoise asked shocked to see three of her worst enemies alive and in cosplay no less.

“Relax we are not here to attack you we are here to enjoy the convention just like you are,” Blair said.

“We already made amends with Sapphire and the others awhile ago,” Hilda said.

“They are here too?” Turquoise said in surprise.

“We just saw them at the game hall awhile ago,” Blair said.

“By the way love your Cosplay even your cleavage looks real,” Raven said.

“Thanks and that’s because it is real I just finished my MtF transition last month,” Turquoise said.

“Parden the intrusion ladies but how are you here? Turquoise told me you three were in a military institution in Alaska,” Dan asked.

“We were until we escaped,” Hilda said.

“How did you escape?” Turquoise asked.

“Alright, ladies and Joker gather around the campfire it’s storytime,” Raven said before getting into the story of how they got here. “We were given many brutal tasks like scrubbing the latrines with a toothbrush, Running laps in the freezing snow without jackets, and many more. Eventually, we had enough so we staged a riot in the canteen and escaped through a tunnel we dug for weeks. Then after using some of the money we stole from one of the instructors to buy some winter clothes we stowed away inside the cargo hold of a freighter heading for Sanpedro.

“Our original plan was to start over and claw our way from the bottom but as soon as we arrived we were caught and arrested,” Blair said.

“The worst of it was the trial where even our own parents turned on us,” Hilda said.

“What do you mean by turned on you?” Dan asked.

“We mean they acted like we were nothing but common criminal scum instead of their own children, I can still remember how my own mother announce the jury’s verdict without so much as a single shred of remorse or sadness,” Raven said.

“Naturally after being declared guilty we were sentenced to thirty years in prison,” Blair said.

“Then how are you three here and not breaking rocks or cleaning highways?” Turquoise asked.

“We thought we were done for until a few months later fate gave us a second chance when this rich married couple bailed us out and adopted us,” Hilda said.

“And here we are speaking with you and your boyfriend,” Raven said.

“I guess this means your heading back to Crystal Prep next year?” Turquoise asked.

“As much as we want to we can’t since we are no longer zoned for that school,” Blair said.

“Anyway we must be going now,” Raven said before the three of them left. As soon as they left an announcement played.

“All con attendees participating in the Cosplay Contest please report to the stage for check-in,” The announcement said. Turquoise and Dan hurried to the stage where the contest was. As soon as they got there Turquoise went up to the check-in table.

“Name?” The lady behind the table asked.

“Turquoise Dusk,” Turquoise said.

“Which character are you cosplaying as?” The lady asked.

“Boa Hancock from One piece,” Turquoise said while showing the lady a photo for reference along with some other stuff.

“You are all set miss just go backstage and await your turn,” The lady said. Dan wished Turquoise luck before she went backstage with the other contestants. She noticed that there was some stiff competition. Luckily for Turquoise, she was the only Boa Hancock in the Competition while others went with more modest characters. A little bit later the competition started and everyone went on one by one until it was Turquoise’s turn.

“ And now for our next entry, You boys better behave yourselves or she will turn you to stone with her love-love beam give it up for Boa Hancock,” The announcer said as Turquoise swayed her hips down the stage which really got the boys in the audience to cheer loudly. She did some of Boa Hancock’s poses and used some of her lines before finishing off by doing the pose for the Love-Love Beam. After she was done she returned backstage and watched the rest of the contestants take their turn. As soon as everyone was done it was time for the results. “We saw some good skill and talent today and now it’s time to award the winners first up the best in show goes to Turquoise as Boa Hancock. Turquoise took her trophy and cash prize of 250$ before returning back to where she was. “Next up is the judge’s awards which go to Lemon as Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Emma as Sabre from Fate/Last Encore, and Vivian as Holo from spice and wolf. After accepting their awards it was now time to present the final one. “And finally the winner of the Novice Division is. A drumroll played before the announcer declared the winner. “Turquoise as Boa Hancock. Turquoise was surprised to hear that she won even though it was her first time entering a cosplay competition. After the contest was over Turquoise and Dan explored the rest of the convention. Their next stop was the gaming hall where they ran into Sapphire and Pettilite who were both dressed as Ouran High students as indicated by the yellow dresses they wore.

“Wasnt expecting to see you girls here,” Turquoise said.

“We wanted to invite you but you had your date with Dan,” Sapphire said.

“By the way love the dresses,” Turquoise said.

“Thanks, cousin Rarity made them for us, they are from the anime Ouran High school Host Club,” Pettilite said.

“Who are you cosplaying as?” Sapphire asked.

“The pirate empress Boa Hancock,” Turquoise said.

“Very brave of you considering how many boys come to these kinds of events,” Sapphire said.

“I’m not worried especially when I’m with Dan,” Turquoise said.

“I hate to break up the conversation but Turquoise and I have to get going,” Dan said.

“We do?” Turquoise asked.

“That’s right let’s get to our hotel and get our room,” Dan said. Dan decided to move the car to the hotel that was connected to the convention center. After parking, they brought their luggage in.

“We are here to check-in and claim our luxury suite,” Dan said to the guy at the front desk. “It should be under Dan Skycroft.

“Ah, Mr.Skycroft we have been waiting for you and your lady friend, Your room is now ready,” The man said before giving Dan two room keys. A bellhop took their luggage and had them follow him to the elevator. The bellhop hit the button for the twenty-fifth floor which was reserved for the wealthy. A few minutes later they arrived on a floor that was lined with marble floors and gold walls. They soon stopped in front of a door that said, Rio Grand suite, on it in cursive. As soon as the door opened Dan and Turquoise were introduced to a luxurious room that was twice as big as a normal hotel room with a big screen tv, special beds, a fancy bathroom with all the finest soaps and stuff, and to top it all off a hot tub on the veranda which also included the greatest view of LA money could buy. As soon as the bellhop left Dan checked his phone for the time.

“We have an hour to get ready, you remembered to pack something formal right?” Dan asked.

“Along with other stuff,” Turquoise said.

“You have first dibs on the bathroom feel free to freshen up,” Dan said. Turquoise pulled out a dry cleaning bag that contained a black one-shoulder ruffle mermaid dress along with her makeup kit and a clutch purse. As soon as she was in the bathroom she changed out of her Cosplay and into her dress. After getting her dress on she styled her long red hair into a low updo. Next, she replaced her snake earrings with some diamond ones and added a necklace that was a black crescent moon with rhinestones on it. After applying some light makeup she was almost ready. After sliding some black pantyhose on she slipped on some black heels then left the bathroom.

“Your turn,” Turquoise said. Sometime later Dan came out wearing a suit. “Now can you tell me where we are going dressed like this?

“Just be a little more patient you will see when we get there,” Dan said before he and Turquoise left the room. They left the hotel and drove towards the downtown area. Sometime later they arrived at a fancy restaurant which Turquoise wasn’t expecting.

“Surprise I got us a reservation at Elysiums which is the fanciest restaurant in LA,” Dan said.

“I heard of this place It was rated three stars by the WGO,” Turquoise said. “But how are you able to afford all of this?

“I never told you what my major was, did I?” Dan said.

“I don’t think you have,” Turquoise said.

“We can talk more once we are seated,” Dan said before he and Turquoise went inside. “ Skycroft party of two.

“ Ah yes issuer Skycroft we have been waiting for you,” The host said before showing them to their table. Turquoise noticed that among the current clientele she and Dan appeared to be the youngest. The waiter soon arrived.

“Hello sir and madam my name is Jaque and I’ll be your waiter tonight, What may I get you two to drink?” Jaque asked.

“Roy Rodgers for me,” Dan said.

“And I’ll have some unsweetened Ice tea,” Turquoise said.

“I will have those out in a few minutes,” Jaque said before leaving.

“Anyway my major is in the science department my family owns a huge electronics company I am set to inherit after graduation so naturally like your parent’s mine are loaded but let’s not talk about that tonight is just about the two of us,” Dan said. This was the best date Turquoise and Dan have ever been on. The dinner was perfect. After dinner, the two returned to their suite and soaked in the hot tub while overlooking the city at night.

“This has been the best date ever,” Turquoise said.

“And it’s not over yet,” Dan said before kissing Turquoise.
