It was six in the morning when Celestia got up to ready for work. After a quick shower, she wrung her hair dry before she combed her hair. She daily fifty strokes as she entered Sunset's room to make sure she was up. She let out a sigh of annoyance when she realized that the girl was still sleeping. Celestia hoped Sunset would be as hard to wake up as Luna. Hoping for the best, Celestia walked up to the slumbering teen before she reached down to shake her awake.
"Sunset, it's time to wake up, my little sun," Celestia said as she gently moved the girl's shoulder.
"Princess? mmhnnmno, I don't wanna. Sleep is bedder," Sunset said sleepily.
"Sunset, you have to go to school," Celestia said, rubbing her back.
"What if I don't want to go... what if I'm too scared to go?" Sunset woke up completely as she stuttered the answer
"Sunset, you're the bravest girl I know. You admitting that you're scared shows just how strong you are. When you go to school, you'll be the bravest one there. I know it scares you to go to school, but I will have a meeting with the teachers. They will be made of your situation and to keep a better eye on you to keep you safe. I don't want you to about Rainbow. I will have a conversation with her during her first period. You won't be bothered again and if someone bothers you, tell Luna or me, well handle it, honey," Celestia smiled at her.
"Yes, Celestia," Sunset sitting up in the bed.
"Very good, it's getting late, classes may start at eight-ten, but I have to be at school at seven-thirty. So you'll have to come to school with me. You'll need someone to help you gather your school materials and help you bring them to your classes. Do you need help with the bath, or can you manage without me? Celestia asked kindly.
"If it's not too much of a bother, I don't know how to clean myself without getting them wet, but first, I have to give Ray his food first," Celestia nodded. Sunset approached Ray and started feeding him crickets.
Celestia led Sunset to the bathroom and let Sunset go in first. Celestia waited outside for Sunset to call her in to begin helping her. After a few moments, Sunset called her in to help the more stubborn of garments before she got in the bath. Celestia lathered shampoo and conditioner in Sunset hair. Taking a cup, she slowly carefully rinsed the two from Sunset's hair. With Sunset's hair clean, Celestia she passed a soapy sponge along her back, legs, and upper arms. She gently washed her back and arms taking care of her injuries. Once she rinsed Sunset off, Celestia passed the sponge to Sunset so that she could clean her more private areas herself as she stepped out to give her some privacy. It wasn't long until Sunset called her back in, and Celestia helped Sunset with drying off and cover herself with a towel.
"Wonderful, I'll go get your clothes from the dryer," Celestia said as she left the bathroom and went to fetch the girl's clothes. However, as she dug through the clothes in the dryer, the only things she could find were skirts and short-sleeved shirts. This presented a problem she didn't anticipate as she realized that Sunset would get sick. Frowning, Celestia took one of Sunset's shirts, a yellow short-sleeved shirt. Celestia looked at the shirt before she made her way to her own room and pulled out a pair of orange pants and a red jacket that was hidden in the depths of her closet.
After finding what she was looking for, she went back into the bathroom and helped Sunset get dressed. Sunset was initially ashamed and uncomfortable with Celestia's help, but two things helped curb that kind of thinking. One was Celestia soothed her with tender words, and the other was the fact that she literally couldn't do anything for herself right now really do anything to take care of herself.
"Relax, Sunset, everything will be fine. There is no shame in asking for help and accepting any that is freely given to you," Celestia said, noticing that Sunset was a bit tense.
"I know, okay. I just, I hate this, I can do things on my own. I know I can. For as long as I can remember, I've taken care of myself. I'm sorry. I just used to this, "Sunset said as she slowly calmed down. ,
"Why don't I do your hair while you continue to calm down? And Sunset, you don't need to apologize for what you're feeling," Sunset nodded as Celestia ran the dryer and then began to run the brush through the girl's hair.
"Thank you, Celestia, and I wouldn't mind you doing my hair," Sunset smiled at Celestia.
"You're welcome, Sunset," Celestia replied as she set to work on brushing the rat nests of Sunset's hair. Celestia continued to brush her until Sunset's hair was the flowing fire that it once was all those weeks ago. Celestia helped Sunset put her clothes on and stuff her books in her backpack before she gathered her purses and headed downstairs for breakfast.
"Well, Sunset, what do you want to have for breakfast?" Asked Celestia gently.
"Just a bowl of cereal and some orange juice, if you have any," Sunset replied
"Okay, but don't forget you need calcium too. So I need you to drink a glass of milk with them," Celestia gave her some milk. "Oh and, Sunset, I would like you to be in my office before your first hour for security."
"Yes, ma'am," Sunset said as she shoveled cereal in her mouth.
Celestia thought about saying something about Sunset's formality but decided to let it go for now. Instead, she returned to her bagel, which just popped up from the toaster ad began to sip at her black tea for breakfast. After breakfast, Celestia gave Sunset a new electric toothbrush, so Sunset had some independence with her cleaning habits. The brush was thankfully light enough for her use, even with vibrations. Celestia smiled as she began to gather some paperwork for her meeting later today.
Once Sunset was finished getting ready, Celestia carried the notebooks and lots of Sunset's supplies to the car, and they headed to school.
When they entered the school, they were alone except for student-athletes. Nervously Sunset led Celestia to her locker, and Celestia put the notebooks and backpack in the locker before closing. Celestia was about to begin the walk to her office when she turned around and noticed Sunset trembling ever so slightly.
"Honey, everything will be fine. The person in charge of the anon-a-miss account will appear soon. Everything will be fine, I promise. Come along now, you can spend the hour in my office sleeping or just relaxing. Luna should be here soon."
Celestia entered her office after telling Sunset to go ahead of her. In her hands were three mugs, one with a creamed coffee and two mugs of tea. Celestia placed the coffee on the table along with one of the mugs of tea before she made her way to Sunset. Sunset lounged on a small couch with her jacket acting as a pillow. She sat up when Celestia presented her the cup, and she found it to be a mint tea.
"Thank you, Principal Celestia," Sunset smiled at her
"I forgot to mention it to you, but you may call both Luna and me by our names unless there are other students around," Celestia smiled at Sunset.
"Okay, Princ-Celestia," Sunset said with a small smile before she drained the tea and resumed to her makeshift bed for a small nap. After a while, Celestia woke Sunset from her brief nap, and Sunset waved goodbye to Celestia so she could go get a notebook and pencil for her next class and then avoid delays, which made Celestia nod. When she got to her locker to grab her needed items, she was pushed inside the locker and felt her panic rise as it was slammed shut and locked.
"Apparently, Sunset is not as tough as she would like people to believe, huh?"
Sunset looked through the grates of her locker to see who was mocking her and saw that it was Rainbow. She could feel the walls closing in on her and felt like she was being pushed underwater. She was breathing. She knew that, but she couldn't seem to get enough air to her lungs, and she wondered if that was what drowning felt like. In her panic, she slammed into the door with every part that could move as a hoarse whine escaped from her in a futile attempt to call for help or beg Rainbow to open the door, anything really, but she was incomprehensible, and words were pouring out in a gibberish mess.
Rainbow laughed at the Sunset and said something about posting her test score again, but Sunset was in full panic mode and was becoming increasingly unaware of her surroundings and just barely noticed Rainbow walking away.
Flash passed through the quiet hallway walking with Microchip and his girlfriend, Gilda. When they heard Rainbow boasting about putting someone in the locker to someone on the sports team. The two athletes laughed as they headed towards the lockers. That was when Flash started to hear a banging ring out from the hallway. A quick glance of the hallway revealed a locker shaking as the person inside it banged on the door. Flash quickly made his way over to it and quickly noticed that it was Sunset's locker and she was the one trapped inside. Flash's eyes widen when he saw Sunsets wide and panicked eyes staring at him. It was such a far shot from her usual confidence and strength that Flash was used to seeing her display.
"Sunset .. is it you?" Flash asked dumbly because this could be Sunset, right?
"Flash walsh closhing. Kanta breashsa I gelp I beck ju," Sunset replied in a slurred and gibberish way.
"Do not worry, tell me the code, and I'll get you out," Flash said in a hurried tone.
"Ish twelves, shirty-fix, and sven," Sunset replied before she repeated what she said like a mantra.
She was still banging against the locker, so hearing the noise on top of her slurred voice was making it rather difficult, but her relatedness help Flash solve the locker code before a satisfying click greeted Flash after his fourth try. Quickly, Flash swung the door open as he pulled and caught the panicked girl from the locker before she could hit the ground. Flash gently sat on the ground as he took stock of Sunset's condition. It seemed that in her panic, Sunset had bruised her knuckles, maybe even her knees. She also had a nasty cut on her forehead from the grate of the locker. A small drizzle of blood made its way down the side of her face.
"Are you okay?" Flash asked, concerned.
"I'm fine. Thank you, Flash" Sunset smiled brightly.
Flash looked at Sunset before he frowned, "You know you don't have to pretend with me, right? I know this can't be easy for you. I know that when you were a bully, it wasn't that hard to defend yourself and keep everyone away from you. But that was before when you had ways to defend yourself. Now it's just you against the school. I never thought you were anon a miss, you also changed For the better, and I have to make a confession," Flash stopped before as he considered the situation. Smiling sadly, he continued, "I'd like it if you and me could be friends. You know, start over and all that?" Flash confessed.
"You sure you don't mind?" Sunset asked.
"Not at all. You could use all the friends you can get," Flash said as he placed a hand on her shoulder.
Sunset began to tear up before she buried her head into his chest as she said, "Okay, let's be friends."
"Cool, but before we throw a party, let me first. I'll go get help, or you can come with me. I'm gonna be honest with though I'm not sure where the nurse is. I've never got hurt while at school. So it might be faster to take you to Principal Celestia," Flash while placing Sunset's notebook and pencil in his backpack.
"Me and Gilda are going to look for something in the infirmary if it is open. You and Sunset go to Principal Celestia," said Microchip as he walked away with Gilda to the nurse's office.
Flash helped Sunset stand and let her lean against him as he led the way to Principal Celestia's office. They got a few odd looks, but Flash ignored them as he was more focused on getting Sunset to an adult that could help with her condition. Flash was thankful when her door came in sight and knocked on the door.
"Come in," said Celestia called.
Flash walked in with Sunset leaning against him.
"Good morning, Principal Celestia, Sunset was attacked and put in her locker, and I think she had a panic attack inside and cut herself up pretty bad. Gilda and Microchip are on the way to the nurse's office."
"I see. Thank you Flash, give me a moment to look over Sunset. I'll be with you to ask you what you know."
"Yes, ma'am."
"Sunset, how are you feeling?"
"I'm fine," Sunset said before catching Celestia's eye, "I just have a slight headache, and my visions kinda swimmy."
"Will you be alright on the couch until the nurse gets here so I can talk with Flash?"
"Yea, I think so."
"Good, now go lie down on the couch but try to keep your eyes open. Okay, flash, can you tell me who put Sunset in the locker, please? Celestia asked sternly.
"I heard Rainbow dash mention something about putting someone inside a locker when she and another soccer kid walked past me in the hallway. Rainbow was coming from where Sunset's locker is. That where I found Sunset panicking inside the locker. I got her comb from her and opened her locker then brought her here," Flash summed up.
"Sunset, was it Rainbow Dash, or was it someone else that pushed into the locker? Celestia asked, turning to Sunset.
"It was Rainbow," Sunset rasped out as she tried her best not to fall asleep or break down from how her former friends were treating her.
"Okay, so Rainbow put Sunset in the locker and admitted to it?" Celestia asked.
Flash nodded, "Basically."
"Flash, thank you for bringing her here. You represent the qualities that I had hoped all the students here knew, compassion, loyalty, calmness, and critical thinking. Should you need anything from don't be afraid to ask. Now while I would love to continue chatting with you, I'd like to talk to Sunset. Can you wait outside?"
Flash nodded and left the office.
"Sunset, honey, are you okay?? Celestia asked worriedly.
"Yes, I just hurt, and I'm getting kinda dizzy," Sunset replied
"I know, honey, you can close your eyes for a while on the couch here but try to stay awake. When it's time for you to return to class, I'll send you to the infirmary to rest. I know it would be preferable to go home, but both Luna and I have a meeting with the teachers at the end of the day, and I'd rather you be with someone right now just to be safe. On top of that, I have a meeting with Rainbow dash. I'll excuse you from the classes you miss today. If you think you can manage one of the classes after lunch, let me know, and I'll take care of it." Celestia smiled at Sunset.
"Okay."
"Now sit tight. I'll let Flash come in if you want him to before class starts."
"'Kay."
Celestia called Flash in and went back to filing a report while Flash did some reading. Sunset laid there in quiet while she waited to go to the infirmary. The warning bell rang, and Celestia gave Flash a note to excuse his tarty while he led Sunset down the hall to the infirmary, having been given directions from Celestia. Celestia watched them go before turning to her secretary Raven.
"Please have Miss Rainbow Dash sent to my office once class starts," Celestia said before turning around, stalking into her office without waiting for a reply from Raven.
