I feel a bright light shining at my face, and I try to shake my head slightly to get its warm, tingling sensation away.

I open my eyes, instantly almost blinded by the bright, orange-yellow light of the early morning sunrise gleaming through the window.

I rub my eyes, and my ears perk up, hearing Fluttershy humming from downstairs. I stretch and yawn at the same time, and slowly get off the bed.

-clop-

"...Still not use to it..." I quietly said to myself.

I make my way downstairs to the living room, just slightly groggy, and smell a very distinct scent. Its strange, but appetizing. I hear my stomach growl fairly loud, and a giggle from the kitchen.

I feel my cheeks get red hot from embarrassment..

Fluttershy walks into the living room still giggling just a bit.

"Hungry?" she asks.

I nod, shyly smiling.

"I just finished making breakfast, if you'd like to eat now?" she asks.

"Oh, yes please." I said pleadingly, as another growl escaped from my stomach.

We both let out a laugh.

I look at the food on the table, seeing almost the same things from back on Earth here. Eggs, toast, butter, and find out the distinct smell was coming from the cooked...

...Hay?

I....really don't know if I should eat that..

I should eat some of the eggs, or toast....but curiosity wins, and drives me to the hay, and I slowly take a small bite out of it.

Suprisingly, it tastes pretty....great? I guess my taste changed aswell? I was honestly expecting it to taste like...hay, or something. But I love it!

"Wow, Fluttershy, I never knew hay tasted so great!"

I said with my mouth full.

"Oh, um...sorry, I forgot my manners.."

I close my mouth, but she then giggles.

"Glad you love it!" She said as she smiled.

We both laugh, and then start cleaning the dishes together, playfully splashing a little water at each other.

We then finish up and dry ourselves from our silly little game.

"George, I'd like you to meet some of my good friends in ponyville. Of course, you don't have to, but i'm sure they'd like to meet you."

I start hopping up and down excitedly.

"I'd love to!"

She giggles at my childish behavior, and I blush a bit as I laugh sheepishly.

..As we're on our way to ponyville, I start to get a bit nervous, thinking that they might find me wierd...

She then looks at me, and notices it from my slightly twitchy ear.

"Aww, don't worry. They don't bite, honest." She said, then giving me a reassuring smile.

I calmed down a bit, and smiled back.

"But, its not that I'm afraid they'll be mean, i'm sure they're not....i-i'm just not sure if they'll....like me.."

I suddenly stop, giving a sulky look to the floor, remembering all the kids that use to bully me, because I was weird...and different.

She turns around to look at me, and struggles a bit, thinking what to say. After a short moment, she smiles softly, understanding what I'm really thinking of, and says

"George, I use to be picked on too. They always Made fun of me as a filly, saying I would never fly. But friends don't do that, only bullies do."

Her soft voice made me feel relaxed, as I began to think about what she just said...

..

After a few moments, I look up at her with a smile.

"Your a good friend, Fluttershy."

She smiles back.

"You are too, George. Thats why I'm sure they'll love to be your friend."

We start our walk to ponyville again, having a nice small chat about how everything in ponyville is like. How the ponies are like, and how maybe I could find a house to stay in over there.

After a while, the idea started to sound nice.

As the conversation continued, time flew by pretty fast, getting us to ponyville in what felt like just a minute.

As soon as we started walking through, a pegasus with light-grey fur, and a blonde mane looks at me with her crossed eyes. At first, I was confused as to why she looked at me like that, but she then smiles and waves at me.

Her silly, yet friendly gesture makes me smile back, returning the wave.

"Who's that?" I asked looking at Fluttershy.

"Who?" Fluttershy looks around.

I point at the grey pegasus, who is....strangely still waving at me.

Fluttershy then giggles.

"Oh, that's Derpy. She's just silly is all!"

"Oh, how fun!" I reply with an amused tone.

"Hi Derpy!" I wave again to the silly grey pegasus, causing her to smile and fly around with happiness.

"Oh! Derpy, watch out for the!-" I tried warning her about the house that she was about to fly into, but was cutoff by the-

-Thud!-

...sound of her flying into the side of the house.

I gasp, and quickly ask

"Are you okay?"

She shakes her head vigorously, and then nods.

"Don't worry, i'm okay!" Derpy replied.

She then quickly flies away.

I simply look at her fly off with a look of confusion...but am amused at the same time.

"She's seems like the fun type?" I said as we started to walk again.

"Oh yes, very!" Fluttershy giggles.

"Heheh, then I can't wait to see her again soon!"

We finally stop at the front of a giant, hollow tree, which appeared to be a house. It also seemed to have a light being thrown out by a small window on the side.

"Hopefully Twilight isn't busy with her studies today, she's always burying herself with work that it worries me alot sometimes." Said the Yellow pegasus.

The mentioning of 'studies' made me perk up my head. If there is something that I love, its studying and learning.

As soon as Fluttershy knocked on the door, a little purple and green dragon, no bigger than my foreleg, opens the door, looking right at her.

"Oh! Fluttershy, long time no see?" said the small adorable reptile.

He then notices me by her side.

"Who's this?" He asked her.

"Oh, George, this is Twilight's assistant and friend, Spike. Spike, this is my new friend, George." she then smiled.

Spike gives her a look of surprise.

"Wow, you actually...made a...friend? No offense! Your just...not exactly the social type?" He asked.

Fluttershy nods.

"None taken, and I know...i'm shy and all, but when I met George, I realized he was...different. In a good way of course." Fluttershy responded, giving me a bright smile.

I return the gesture.

He then looks at me with his little green eyes.

I start to gaze around nervously, hoping he won't talk to me...

"Hiyaz George! I haven't really seen your face much. Are you... new around here?"

I look at the ground, barely nodding, kicking the dirt gently..

"Ohhh...I see how you made friends easily with him...He's just as shy as you are!" He stated, looking at Fluttershy.

I start to feel uneasy. I lower my head, looking away to avoid anymore eye contact.

"Oh, Spike, please be easy on him, will you? He's visiting Ponyville for the first time."

Spike then smiles sheepishly, and rubs the back of his head.

"Oh, -eh...Sorry George....Let's start over." He smiles, and reaches his small hand out for a handshake.

"Hi, the names' Spike. Nice to meet you George!"

I look at him, and smile back shyly.

"P-pleasure to....meet you Spike." I reach my hoof out to shake hands with his.

"Alrighty, I'll go get Twilight now!" He quickly turns around, and swiftly runs up the staircase, calling Twilight's name.

I hear another voice coming closer, and a purple unicorn ends up stopping right in front of us.

"Ohh, Fluttershy! Its been a while since I last saw you!"

"Oh, Twilight nice to meet you too!" Fluttershy responded with glee.

I lift my head slightly, taking a look at the purple mare.

"You must be the new friend of Fluttershy's that Spike mentioned?" she asked.

I simply nod.

"Ohh, quiet one aswell?"

I lower my head again...

"Its ok, its a pleasure to meet you....George is it?" she gives me a smile.

I gently smile back and nod.

"Pleasure to meet you aswell." I replied softly.

Suddenly, I hear yet another voice, except its coming from...the....sky?..

We all look around, looking for where the voice is coming from, but it's too distant to hear.

...the voice starts shouting something, although we can't hear it clearly.

It starts getting more clear...

Wa.. Watch....watch ou-....

We all look at each other curiously, and confused.

But the voice suddenly sounds like it's coming closer at a very fast pace, and the words become very clear.

"Watch out WATCH OUT!!" screamed the voice from above.

-SLAM-

The sound of what seemed like a cement bag slamming into the ground from a 100 feet caused me to close my eyes, diving down to the ground, thinking whoever that was, just crashed into me. But instead, I open my eyes, finding a light blue pegasus, with it's head in the ground. Leaving it's rump up in the air, showing the multi-colored tail it had. Reminds me alot of....

"Rainbow Dash! Are you ok?" Fluttershy and Twilight both shouted in unison.

We all rushed over to her, and tried pulling her out. Eventually after the third pull, we finally got her out, and she coughed endlessly, sending dirt flying out of her nose.

"Oh man, thanks guys, -cough- I mean it! I saw you both while I was practicing my tricks up in the air, so I thought I'd make an entrance by flying down here and-"

Rainbow Dash suddenly stops and tilts her head, looking at me.

"Who's that?"

Fluttershy quickly responds

"Oh! He's my new friend, George. George, this is Rainbow Dash."

Rainbow Dash then smiles.

"Thanks for helping me out, that was cool of ya."

I simply nod, giving a shy grin.

"Oh, another Fluttershy." She said under her breathe.

I manage to hear her mumble, and quietly say

"S-sorry...I can't help it.."

All I hear is her laughing.

"Ah, its alright. It's not a problem at all, don't worry!"

She then abruptly hops up excitedly, looking directly at my wings.

"Oh, boy! How fast can ya fly? Lets have a race- OH hey, I know! How about...A competition!"

I was so overtaken that I simply looked at her with wide eyes, flooded by her questions.

But then, I remembered...

"Oh...I-...How can I say this.." I said quietly..

"I don't know....how..to"

By now, everyone has there eyes on me, giving me more pressure.

"...fly."

Rainbow Dash gasps dramatically.

"What? Your joking right?"

Fluttershy then quickly whispers to Rainbow Dash.

"Rainbow, he didn't exactly...grow up in Cloudsdale like us."

After a few moments of silent chatter, Rainbow then nods, and quietly responds with an

"Okay!"

She then smiles, her face showing some sort of bright idea, and flies up into the air.

"Alrighty! Come with me George! I guess I have time to teach you how to fly, before I head off to Fillydelphia for a few months."

Fluttershy quickly realized what Rainbow said.

"Aww, your gonna be gone too Rainbow Dash? Applejack is gone for a few months too, and Pinkie Pie told me something about....a...cupcake harvest that she had to attend to." Fluttershy then puts on a face of bafflement.

I give Fluttershy a perplexed look.

"Cupcake...harvest?" I asked.

Rainbow Dash shakes her head passively.

"Don't ask. Pinkie doesn't make sense, and never will. Now come on! Lets go!" Said Rainbow flatly, quickly grabbing me by the tail afterwards.

"Ah! I guess I'll see you later Fluttershy! Bye Twilight!" I shouted before Rainbow flew upwards, still holding me by the tail.

Twilight simply smiles and waves.

Fluttershy gives a bit of a worried look.

"Oh my, please be careful Rainbow Dash!" She said.

"Alright, first things first! Warmup! Stretch your wings!" Rainbow said, as she trotted back and forth in a coaching manner.

I sit there for a few minutes, trying to move my wings, until I finally got them to spread.

"Oh! Look, I did it!" I said hopping up and down.

I then notice her trying to hold in her laugh.

"Oh boy, I can't wait to see how you'll react when you actually...fly." she then bursts out laughing.

I lower my head as I blush from embarrassment, and stop hopping.

"I'm sorry, sorry. I couldn't help it." said Rainbow Dash.

She catches her breath, and sighs.

"Its not wrong to laugh, but when your laughing at someone, thats so not cool. So i'm sorry."

I look up at her, and then give her a shy smile.

"Its ok Rainbow."

She smiles back, and pats me on the back.

"Atleast you can take a joke. I like you already!"

Her compliment makes my smile grow more, and I lift up my head.

"I can't wait for you to teach how to fly!" I said with excitement.

This makes her smile grow even more, and she looks at me with enthusiasm.

"Awesome! Thats the spirit!"

After a few hours of the basic wing movement practice that she taught me, she finally says

"I think your ready! You learned it all pretty fast, so i'm sure you'll do awesome!"

I get a bit nervous.

"A-are you sure? I don't think I c-can yet."

Next thing you know, she grabs me by the tail again, and flies straight up until finally, we're at cloud level.

I look down, starting to feel dizzy, and slightly sick.

"Oh boy, Rainbow....put me down...please..I-i'm not friendly with hieghts.."

She slowly starts letting go, and I panic as I start slipping.

"Rainbow no! Wait! Thats not what I men-"

She lets go, but shortly after, I fall onto something....soft.

I look down and see that i'm actually sitting on top of the cloud. I almost forgot that pegasi can walk on clouds...

I look at her, first in shock, but then we both start laughing out loud.

I wasn't sure whether I was laughing because I couldn't believe I was sitting on a cloud, or because I thought I was going to fall. Regardless, I was still laughing, and we finally stop, wiping the happy tears off our face.

"Okay, okay...focus..." I began to focus, and unfolded my wings.

"Come on George! Don't let me down!" she shouted from another cloud above.

I look up at her, then back down and close my eyes, slowly making my way to the edge of the cloud.

"I know you can do it!"

..Her words suddenly gave me confidence, so I slowly leaned forward, and then...

"Oh no, Celestia help MEE!" I screamed.

I slipped off the cloud, and began plummeting down in an instant. But I managed to calm down and stretch my wings as wide as I could..

I still had my eyes closed, but then...I felt like...I was floating. I open my eyes to find myself gliding over ponyville. I felt a rush of excitement surge through my body, and couldn't help but shout

"Oh...Oh my gosh! I'm doing it! I'm actually doing it! I'm flying!!"

I started flapping my wings the same way she taught me, and I actually started go higher and higher.

"I knew you could do it! What I tell ya?!"

I heard Rainbow Dash shouting.

I look behind, finding her right there, flying with me.

Wow, she really is fast.

After flying for the entire afternoon, I was completely tired, so Rainbow and I started making our way back to Twilights House.

As we flew high over the huge expanse of trees and mountains, I noticed it was getting somewhat dark now, as the sun began to set behind the hills, shining it's orange-red light over the edge.

I admired the beautiful sunset, and was drawn into the wonderous multiple hues it threw onto the sky, and the clouds aswell.

I looked at the clouds, which dimly reflected the light orange rays, while the other side simply faded into grey. Some even had a violet shade to it..

'A truly beautiful sunset, Princess Celestia...' I mentally said to myself..

'I'm glad you like it!' I heard a distant voice in my head reply.

I look around, puzzled.

"Princess Celestia?" I said, half startled.

"Huh? Did you say something?" Rainbow looks at me.

"Oh, nothing. I just thought I heard someone...Maybe just a gust of wind." I quickly replied, still perplexed....

"Oh...Well, anyway! Y'know, you did real great for a first time at flying! So great, that next time I see ya, were gonna race." Said Rainbow, giving me a bit of a cocky smirk.

"Oh come on Rainbow, you know your better than me by a longshot." I said.

She gently pokes me in the side.

"Don't ruin the fun!"

We both laugh, and in no time, we land right in front of Twilights house.

I knock on the door.

"Coming!" said Spike from the inside.

He opens the door almost in an instant, actually causing me to flinch a bit.

"Come on in guys! Its getting chilly out there." He said.

"Thanks." Said Rainbow and I in unison.

"Oh! Hi Rainbow, hi George! How'd your lessons go?" Said Twilight as she walked downstairs from her bedroom.

Rainbow suddenly grabs me, and holds me by her side.

"He was a natural! He learned to fly in an instant!" She said proudly.

Well thats quite humble of her to say that?

"All thanks to me!" She said, flying up into the space above, shining her pride.

Ah, Nevermind.

"Oh! Well since your such a fast learner, perhaps you would be interested in doing some studies with me?" Twilight asked with a hopeful smile.

I quickly jump up to the offer, giving a genuine smile.

"I'd love to!"

"Oh yay! Its real hard finding ponies who also have an interest in books! Finally, I have someone to study with-" She suddenly stops, and we both look at Rainbow Dash, who was mimicking Twilight with a mocking face.

...

Rainbow then notices that we're looking at her, and smiles bashfully.

"Eheh....Hey its not my fault! Y'know I hate egghead talk!" She turns around and crosses her forearms.

"Ohh Rainbow...." Said Twilight in a sing-song voice.

"I guess you wouldn't like to read Daring Doo's recently published book?" She then smirks.

Rainbow gasps, turning around instantly, almost flying into Twilight.

"What?! Gimme gimme gimme gimme, Pleeeaaaase!"

Twilight and I start laughing, but Rainbow didn't seem to mind.

"Ok, so i'm an egghead too, who cares? Gimme the book, PLEASE!" Said Rainbow on her knees, now begging for the book.

Twilight rolls her eyes, and levitates the book from her seemingly endless shelves of books.

"Here you go-" Rainbow Dash quickly swipes the book from her, and flies out the door, shouting

"Thank you! See ya in a few months after I get back from fillydelphia!"

"Hey! Be careful with that book- Oh whatever.." Twilight said, shaking her head.

I start to shiver, along with Twilight.

"Spike, shut the door please! Rainbow left the door open as always..." said Twilight in a bit of a irritated tone.

The little green and purple reptile closes the door gently, and asks

"Hmm, how about I prepare some tea to warm you guys up?"

"Thats very thoughful of you Spike!" Said Twilight, smiling at her little friend.

"Your number one assistant never fails!" Said Spike with his little finger up in the air, running off to the kitchen.

I giggled a bit from his silly antics, and sat down on the ground. Twilight looks at me with a bit of confusion. I simply look back at her, returning the confused look.

"What?"

"Uh, why are you sitting on the ground? I can go get you a chair if you want?"

I look at her a bit embarrassedly..

"Oh, I-...heheh..."

..Even though time has passed....I still have the habit to sit on the ground, because my Dad never allowed me to sit on a chair....or anything really.

I give the floor a doleful look...but then Twilight tilts her head in further confusion.

"Whats wrong? Was it something I said?" She asked.

"Oh, no. Just....things. From a long while ago." I said slowly in a deadpan tone.

There was a moment of odd silence, as we both looked around quietly. Then I brought back our conversation.

"Oh, um, Twilight? You said something about studies, right?" I asked.

She perked up, and smiled.

"Oh yes! Would you like to join me right now?"

"Of course!"

"Wonderful! Follow me!"

She leads me to her room upstairs, and in a matter of seconds, she goes right into her studies.

"Go ahead, browse around and see what catches your attention?" She said, as she wrote away on her notes while levitating the quill with her magic.

I look around the well organized bookshelves, slowly moving by them as I read the title of the books, looking for something of interest. I briefly lose my attention to the shelves, as I observe her working away, impressed and perplexed on how she does her work so swiftly.

I then hear Spike's little foot steps running up the staircase, along with the slight clanging rattle of the teacups and platter he's holding. He finally gets up here, and quickly gives us each a teacup, pouring tea into them.

"Thanks!" I gave him a look of appreciation.

He smiles and nods.

"Anything else guys?"

"Oh, thats alright Spike, thanks for the tea! You must be tired, so go get some rest." Twilight said, smiling proudly at her little assistant.

"Oh, thank Celestia! I was just about to sleep on top of the counter when I was making the tea.." He yawns, and slowly makes his way into his little bed, and in just a minute, begins snoring.

Both Twilight and I giggle at his little snore, and she gets back to work, while I continue my search for a book, letting out a slight yawn..

I wake up slowly from the sun's early morning rays once again shining onto my face...

I slowly open my eyes, and find myself in a slumped down position, with the side of my face laying on top of some hard surface.

"....ow ow ow....my neck..." I whimpered quietly.

I slowly lift up my head, and turn it gently to face the surface, letting out a few moans of pain from the slightly sore sensation on the side of my neck. I blink slowly a few times, still quite groggy, and notice that I fell asleep on the table while reading a fairly huge book about Equestria's general history.

I look slowly over to my left, to find Twilight sleeping aswell on the table, as silent as a baby.

..She looked so adorable and silly. Her head was laying on top of the parchment, with a bit of ink smudged onto the side of her face.

"...Aww.."

I did my best to keep quiet from waking her up as I stood up, and then noticed the small pool of drool I left on the table...

"...Ew..."

After cleaning up the small mess I had made from last night, I made my way to the balcony, managing to not wake up Twilight and Spike after all the ruckus I made.

I then take a moment, to let the nature sink in..

The gentle, fresh wind blows onto my face, making my groggy eyes close again..

All that, along with the soft, warmth of the early crack-of-morning sunlight just barely shining over the hills, just very slightly brightening the dark, star filled sky.

I could just fall asleep again...this is so soothing...

I never would've guessed the weather of Equestria would be so, calming, and perfect...

The air is so pure, with no stench of car emissions, or garbage bags piled up on the street..

This is a moment that I want to last forever-

-Wait. Its morning?

"Oh no! I was suppose to go back to Fluttershy's house last night!" I quietly shouted to myself.

As i'm about to fly off the balcony, I stop with my wings up in the air, ready to just thrust me off. I look behind me, looking at Twilight. I slowly make my way back inside, and gently touch her, to see if she's still sleeping. She quietly sighs, and slightly moves.

I slowly pick her up, placing her on my back, and walk as quietly as I can over to her bed, gently slipping her onto it, and tucked her in. She slightly smiles, and curls up into little ball, letting out a comfortable sigh.

I almost let out an 'Aww'....that was just adorable...

I looked over to the table, and saw her research notes spread across, with a quill sitting inside its ink bottle. I picked up the quill, first trying to write with my hooves..

..After a few seconds, that clearly proved to be a huge challenge, so I simply picked it up with my mouth, and slowly wrote...

Thanks for the tea, and letting me study with you, Twilight.

I'd love to study with you again soon, if i'm not much of a bother.

I gently placed the quill back into the ink bottle, and slowly made my way to the balcony again, this time closing the door behind me, so she wouldn't get chilly when the winds get a little colder.

I take one more glimpse at the purple sleeping mare, smiling once more, and thrust my wings gently, flying off back to Fluttershy's cottage. I couldn't help but feel guilty, thinking Fluttershy must've stayed up late, worried sick last night...

I pick up the pace a little bit, hoping she didn't really worry that much..

I arrived much sooner than I thought I would. and slowly opened the door, trying not to wake the animals. As I step inside, I find Fluttershy on the sofa, curled up in a blanket with her pet bunny sleeping right on top of her.

Everytime she breathed in and out, the blanket would move up and down slightly, making her look just as adorable as a napping puppy.

I felt my heart and face melt as I just quietly mouth an 'Aww'...

She did wait for me last night...

I slowly sat next to her, gently brushing the hair out of her face, and let out a very sleepy yawn. I curl up right next to her, being careful not to wake her up, and feel my heavy eyelids bring me back to sleep in just a matter of seconds....
