Chapter 10: The Seven Elements of Harmony

“The Elements...are here?” Twilight asked as she and her friends made their way into the main chamber of the Castle of the Two Sisters. The whole castle was covered in vines and five stone sculptures of the Elements were lying on the ground at the center.

“One, Two, Three, Four...” Pinkie counted. “Uh...There’s only five.” “Where’s the Sixth Element?” Rainbow asked, looking around in confusion. Twilight bent down at the stone sculptures. “The book said: when the five are present, a spark will cause the sixth Element to be revealed.

“What in the hay is that supposed to mean?” Applejack asked. “I’m not sure...but I might have an idea.” Twilight replied as she sat cross-legged and placed her hands together. “Stand back. I don't know what will happen.” Magenta magic began to form on her hands.

“Come on now, y'all.” Applejack spoke up as she and the others left the room. “She needs to concentrate.” Twilight was left inside with the Elements. However, a dark haze appeared in the stones and formed a great tornado, making her gasp in shock.

“The Elements!” She screamed and leapt into the tornado, just as her friends rushed inside. “Twilight!!” They all exclaimed, but the tornado disappeared in a flash of light. “Twilight, where are you?” Applejack called out.

“Look!” Rarity exclaimed, pointing to a shining light coming from another tower outside. “Come on!” Applejack added as the girls raced off to help their friends.

(With Twilight...)

Twilight landed in a puff of smoke, coughing and dusting herself. As she stood up, she grew pale when she saw Nightmare Moon standing before her. “Hello there...” she crooned. “So nice...of you to join me.”

Twilight quickly composed herself and charged at her, summoning magic with her hands. Smirking, the Night Princess gathered her own magic and charged back at her. Just as they were about to collide, Twilight disappeared, surprising and stopping the witch in her charge.

Soon, the lavender girl appeared in front of the stones using her magic; a light suddenly appeared in them...as fast as it disappeared. “What?!” Twilight gasped. “Where's the sixth Element?!” Before she could figure something out, Nightmare Moon appeared and with a mighty stomp, she sent the girl flying back and smashing the Elements to pieces. “NO!!” Twilight screamed in horror.

“Hahahahahahaha!!! You fools!” Nightmare Moon laughed maniacally. “Did you really think you can defeat me so easily?!” “Now you will never see your princess, or your sun again!” She declared. “The night will last forever!”

Twilight looked on in horror and defeat; she lost...she failed to stop Nightmare Moon. Now, she feared that Princess Celestia and Drew were gone forever.

“Hey, Twilight!”

“Where were you?”

She heard the others’ voices and then...it all became clear. Her eyes widened in realization... the Elements weren’t destroyed, they were with her the whole time! “You think you can destroy The Elements of Harmony just like that?” She asked, turning back to the witch. “Well, guess again, because the spirits of The Elements of Harmony are right here.”

At that moment, the other girls rushed into the chamber and in the same moment, the shattered remains of the stones glowed brightly and rose into the air, much to the witch’s horror. “What?!” Nightmare Moon gasped in shock. “What is this?!” Twilight smirked proudly.

Applejack, who reassured me when I was in doubt, represents the spirit of... Honesty!” She declared as a golden necklace with an orange and green apple-shaped gem appeared around the cowgirl’s neck. At the same time, her Cutie Mark on her left cheek glowed brightly.

Flutter-Shy, who tamed the manticore with her compassion, represents the spirit of... Kindness!” Another golden necklace with a pink butterfly-shaped gem appeared around the shy girl’s neck and her Cutie Mark glowed brightly.

Pinkie Pie, who banished fear by giggling in the face of danger, represents the spirit of... Laughter!” Her necklace had a blue balloon-shaped gem that resembled her Cutie Mark as they both glowed.

Rarity, who calmed a sorrowful serpent with a meaningful gift represents the spirit of... Generosity!” The fashion girl’s necklace had a purple diamond-shaped gem, similar to her Cutie Mark.

“And Rainbow Dash, who could not abandon her friends for her own heart's desire represents the spirit of... Loyalty!” Dash’s necklace had a red thunderbolt-shaped gem, similar to her Cutie Mark.

“The spirits of these five ponies got us through every challenge you threw at us.” Twilight added, proudly. “Thanks to them, I finally know the truth!” Nightmare Moon was now panicking. “No...No! You still don't have the sixth Element!” She screamed. “The spark didn't work!”

“That’s because it wasn’t the spark...”

A voice said, causing everyone to look around, when suddenly, right next to the Mane 6, a blue portal appeared from the ground. To everyone’s shock, an arm came out and Drew jumped out. “It’s a different kind of spark.”

“Drew!?” The girls exclaimed in surprise, shock or in Twilight’s case, relief. “YOU?!” Nightmare Moon was the most shocked. “How did you escape my prison, it’s impenetrable?!” “Prison?!” The girls added.

“Prison?” Drew scoffed. “You think your stupid prison was going to stop me from returning to my friends.” “D-Darling! What does she mean-” Rarity asked before she noticed the state he was in and gasped in horror. “D-Drew...is that blood...?”

All the girls looked at him and to their horror, they saw his clothes were torn, his chest and face were scarred and blood was around him. Some of the girls covered their mouths and their eyes watered at seeing the state he was in.

“I can explain later...” Drew replied seriously. “Right now, I believe Twilight has finally found out what she needs to beat her.” His words snapped Twilight out of her shock.

“Drew’s right!” She exclaimed. “I felt it the very moment I realized when I was about to lose them. The moment I realized how much I cared about them. The spark ignited inside me when I realized that the ponies I met and traveled with me here this night... are my friends!”

“You see, Nightmare Moon, when those Elements are ignited by the... the spark, that resides in the heart of us all, it creates the sixth element: the element of... Magic!” Suddenly, a bright light shone above Twilight.

Soon, more lights flashed as an orb of magic appeared on Twilight’s head and turned into a golden tiara with a pink star on the top. Suddenly, the lights went into Drew; his whole body began to glow uncontrollably and his wound healed instantly.

“No!” Nightmare Moon screamed. Drew grinned at the witch. “You know, witch...” He replied. “There’s a forgotten legend than when all six elements are combined, the long-lost 7th element will appear and be given to someone worthy and pure of heart!”

“I’ve been Twilight’s closest friends,” he added. “I stood up for all of the good people of Pony-Ville and I am willing to protect Equestria until the day I die!” All the girls began glowing as rainbow energy burst from the Mane 6 and entered Drew as he glowed like a rainbow.

“I represent the Element of... Heroism!!” He declared. “NOW TASTE THE RAINBOW, NIGHTMARE MOON!!” With that, he unleashed a rainbow blast at the witch. Nightmare Moon tried summoning her shield, but it was worthless as it shattered into pieces.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!” The witch screamed as the rainbow wave headed towards her and struck her hard, and everything went white.

(2 minutes later...)

As the light disappeared, the friends groaned as they staggered to their feet. “Oh...my head...” Rainbow groaned as she caressed her head. “Everybody okay?” Applejack asked. “Oh thank goodness!” Rarity exclaimed, as her long purple tail was newly grown again.

“Why Rarity, it's so lovely.” Flutter-Shy complimented. “I know!” Rarity replied, hugging her tail. “I'll never part with it again.” “No, I mean your necklace.” Flutter-Shy gesturing to Rarity’s necklace. “It looks just like your cutie mark.”

Rarity checked and indeed her necklace was like her Cutie Mark. “So does yours!” Everyone checked out their new accessories and were amazed. “Gee, Twilight!” Applejack spoke up. “I thought you were just spoutin' a lot of hooey, but I reckon we really do represent the elements of friendship.”

“Indeed you do.”

Suddenly, the brightness of the Sun’s glow filled the whole room and drew their attention. From it appeared a gorgeous woman with long rainbow flowing hair that reached her waist, she wore a white silken robe, two great white wings were on her back, a long unicorn horn was on her forehead and sporting a calm, beautiful face.

The girls bowed, except Twilight, who ran up to her. “Princess Celestia!” She exclaimed as she hugged the princess who returned the gesture. “Twilight Sparkle, my faithful student...” Celestia said proudly. “I knew you could do it.”

Twilight seemed stunned at this revelation. “Princess...you...you made it seem like it was an old fairy tale. Nightmare Moon’s returning...why?” Celestia smiled. “I told you that you needed to make some friends, nothing more.” she replied. “I saw the signs of Nightmare Moon's return, and I knew it was you who had the magic inside to defeat her, but you could not unleash it until you let true friendship into your heart.”

Twilight looked at her teacher, then she looked back at her friends. Her teacher was right, without friendship, she couldn’t have stopped Nightmare Moon. “Now if only another will as well.” Celestia added as she turned to Princess Luna, now restored and free from Nightmare Moon.

However, she grew worried when she saw her sister walking towards her with a grim expression. “It has been a thousand years since I have seen you like this.” Celestia stated. “I’ve been waiting a long time to say this” Luna braced herself for her sister’s wrath.

“I’m sorry.”

Luna was stunned into silence as Celestia’s expression softened. “I failed to be there for you when you needed me the most.” The Sun Princess explained. “Because of my mistakes, you had to suffer for a thousand years.”

“No matter our differences, we’re still family.” She added as tears welled up in her eyes. “We should never let anything tear us apart...” “It’s time to put our differences behind us.” She finished. “We were meant to rule together, little sister.”

The girls gasped. “Sister?” Twilight and Rainbow asked in unison. Luna looked with wide eyes at her sister. It was then Drew’s words echoed in her mind.

“Trust in family, Auntie... We want you back...I want you back.”

Tears began to fall from Luna’s eyes. “I’m sorry!” She exclaimed, before running up and throwing her arms around her big sister. “I missed you so much, big sister.” “I missed you, too” Celestia replied as she wept as well.

The girls smiled at the happy ending, even Pinkie was bawling like crazy. Twilight was especially moved. She suddenly remembered Drew’s words.

“Learn to accept the people around you.”

She smiled gratefully at his words. She realized she hadn’t been fair to Drew when they came to Pony-Ville. Suddenly, her eyes widened in realization. “Wait!” She exclaimed. “Where’s Drew?!”

Everyone’s eyes widened. “Drew’s here?!” Luna and Celestia asked. Everyone looked around the castle. “Urrgh...” a groan could be heard behind them. Looking back, they saw Drew staggering to his feet.

“What happened?” He asked, rubbing his head. “Did we win?” “Drew!!” Twilight screamed as she tackled him to a tight hug. “You’re alright!” “I was so worried about you...!” Drew smiled as he patted her on the back. “I’m fine, T-S...” He assured her gently

“Drew/Drew-y!!” Once again, Drew was tackled, this time by Pinke and Flutter-Shy. “Darling, are you alright?” Rarity added, as she walked up to him. “Of course!” Drew grinned. “I’m not so easily beaten!”

However, they heard several gasps from them and he felt something around his neck. To his surprise, he found a golden necklace with a gem in the shape of a unicorn’s head with wings. “...Okay, this is new.”

“Drew!” The said boy turned to see his adoptive mother, looking at him in shock and joy. “Mom!” He replied, before Celestia hugged him tightly. “Drew, my baby boy!” She squealed, hugged and kissing him all over. “Mmmpf!!!” Drew’s cries were muffled as he was smothered by his mother’s tight hugs.

“Thank goodness, you’re safe!” Celestia pulled away and shed a few tears as she smiled at her son. Suddenly, her eyes widened when she saw his necklace and gasped. “It...It can’t be?” She muttered. “Mom, what is it?” Drew asked in confusion.

“It’s true...” Celestia replied in amazement. “The legend of the Lost Element is true!” “Lost Element?” Twilight asked in confusion as everyone stared at her. “When Luna and I were researching of the Elements, we found there was a 7th Element of Harmony with the power of all Six Elements combined.” The Mane 6 girls were astonished to hear that.

“We tried and search many times, but we were unable to make it appear.” She continued. “Our only clue was the words left...The Lost Element will only appear when one who is of true heart and pure spirit.” “Now...” she added, looking at Drew with pride. “It has finally been found, thanks to you, Drew.”

Drew couldn’t believe it. “I’m the 7th Element?” He asked. “Dude, that’s awesome!” Rainbow replied, patting his back hard. “I didn’t think you would get more badass!” “Yeah!” Pinkie Pie added, her eyes sparkling in excitement. “You are the most amazing prince, EVER!!!!!”

Drew blushed brightly. “D-Drew?” The said boy turned and his eyes grew wide when he saw Luna coming towards him, staring at him. “Is...it...really you?” Drew stared for a moment before smiling. “I told you, Auntie.” He replied “I promised to bring you back...”

Luna’s eyes watered with tears as she covered her mouth with hands. “DREW!!” She cried, as she wrapped her arms around her nephew and hugged him tightly. “Thank you, Drew...” She croaked out. “Thank you for never giving up on me...” Drew just smiled and hugged her back.

Everyone smiled at the touching scene. “We’re together again, Auntie.” Drew soothed her.
“You’ll never be alone again.” Luna smiled at her nephew and planted three kisses on his cheeks and his forehead.

“Well, now that’s settled,” Pinkie spoke up before grabbing Drews arm and pulling him close to her. “we’ve got more important things to do!” Drew grinned. “Yep!” He added. “It’s time to PARTY!!!!!!”

(Pony-Ville)

The citizens of Pony-Ville cheered and celebrated the return of their princesses. News of Nightmare Moon’s defeat spread like wildfire across the town. Everyone was shocked at the appearance of Princess Luna, who they learned was no other than Nightmare Moon.

Fortunately, Princess Celestia cleared things up by explaining how the Mane 7 obtained the Elements of Harmony and freed Luna from her dark counterpart for good. Many were even more surprised when they discovered their prince Drew, was the legendary 7th Element and had survived a fight with Nightmare Moon.

Everyone cheered for the Mane 7 and called them heroes for saving Equestria and Princess Luna. Speaking of which, the Moon Princess was accepted back with open arms, with two young pegasi Ponyain children made a flower crown for her, which she accepted with tears and a smile.

Before she knew, Drew approached her, grabbed her arms and pulled her onto the dance floor. Luna blushed in shyness and surprise before beginning to dance with him, feeling herself with pure joy as others join him.

Celestia watched proudly. “It’s so good to see her enjoying herself.” She thought as she drank some apple cider. “I was worried how everyone would react to her, knowing who she once was.”

It was then she noticed her pupil looking down all sad. She walked up to her. “Is something wrong Twilight?” She asked, her voice getting the girl to look at her. “Are you not happy that your quest is complete and you can return to your studies in Canterlot?”

“That's just it.” Twilight replied, looking down again. “Just when I learned how wonderful it is to have friends, I have to leave them.” She did her best to hide her sadness, but failed. “And what about Drew?” She asked. “It’s not fair that he has to leave too, he finally has a chance to make real friends...”

Celestia smiled and it was here she decided. “Spike, take a note, please.” The purple dragon boy appeared out of nowhere with a scroll and quill in hand. “I, Princess Celestia, hereby decree that the unicorn Twilight Sparkle and my son, Drew Spirit-Mane shall take on a new mission for Equestria. They must continue to study the magic of friendship and must report to me her findings from her new home in Pony-Ville.

Those words made Twilight Sparkle smile of pure joy before the Mane 7 hugged her in joy as well. “Oh thank you, Princess Celestia!” Twilight vowed. “I'll study harder than ever before.” “Mom, do you mean it?” Drew asked. “Do you really want me to stay?”

Celestia smiled at her adopted son and gently cupped his cheeks. “Drew,” she told him. “I knew on the night I found you as a baby that you are destined for great things.” “I knew that one day that you will have to find your own destiny...” she added. “Now, you have received the long lost 7th Element.” “Besides, as the Element of Heroism, someone needs to protect this town and these fine girls,” she gave a wry smile. “And who better than the Prince of Equestra himself?”

Drew smiled and hugged his mother. “Thank you, Mom!” He replied. “I’ll make you proud.” The girls smiled. “Well, Drew...” Applejack grinned “You ready for your new life as a hero?” Drew grinned back. “You bet!” He replied. “Now, let’s party!!!!!!”
