Humanity has made signifcant strides in technology since their modern times. We have made numerous technological advancements once thought complete science fiction. Ships that are capable of system-to-system travel, breaking speed boundaries once thought impossible through the depths of space. These ships are called Corsairs, and they are colony ships with huge reserves for extended stays with hundreds of humans onboard as they travel though the dark, unknown abyss. There are 10 Corsair ships that were successfully launched from Earth to attempt deep space colonization. Many humans onboard are excited to see what lies in the outer reaches of space.

And you are one of them.

You are the leader of an engineering crew of the 4th Engineering Division on the C.S.S. New Dawn. The New Dawn is the lead Corsair ship commanded by Admiral Clifford Henderson. Humans onboard the New Dawn and the other 9 corresponding Corsair ships undergo cryo sleep when jumping from star system to star system to prevent aging during travel. On the journey away from earth, the Corsairs have jumped to numerous star systems, but with each one containing a dead or uninhabitable world, humanity onboard the Corsairs are beginning to lose hope in finding a suitable world.

That is until the Corsairs jumped into one particular system.
