Somewhere He Belongs
Chapter 55: From Zero to Infinity
Previous ChapterAfter Emily had taken Scott, Kerry and Rebecca to the hospital, the moment Sam heard about what happened, he rushed to the hospital to check on them. He was relieved that they were still alive, but he gave Scott a scolding, and told him off for not trusting his own sisters. The doctor told them that due to their injuries, they’ll have to stay in hospital for a good long while.
That night as Luna’s moon shone down on Ponyville, most ponies were sound asleep in their beds, while a few were still up and around, going for night walks, and making sure their stores were ready for the morning before closing up. Outside of Ponyville standing on a hill, there was Devon, looking up to the sky. When he first came to Equestria, he had a job to do, and that was to locate the Princess of the Land of Light, and he had gotten far off track. He knew he had to find her soon.
“Zero,” a voice rang through his head.
Devon turned around and saw the kid that had fought Alien Hipporit and revived Tiga. The kid, Yellow, was walking with a crutch and his arm in a sling.
“Zoffy,” Devon said, as the two humans assumed their Ultra forms.
“You’ve gotten distracted in finding Princess Yullian,” Zoffy told him.
“It’s been proving that she’s hard to track down,” Zero replied, “Equestria has magical energy that blocks her light, and this makes it difficult to find her.”
“I would help but this body is recovering slowly,” Zoffy responded, “but she’s out there, our most recent recording of her light tracked her to this planet.”
“But it’s really hard to find her when Monsters keep showing up and I have to go on a little mission with my team,” Zero remarked.
“On my travels in this world, I’ve not had much luck as well,” Zoffy told him, “but I have picked up a very faint life signal coming from an island.”
“You have?” Zero asked.
“Yes, though, I am unsure if that signal is the Princess or something that gives off a similar signal,” Zoffy replied.
“I best check that out right away,” Zero said, as he was about to take off, but Zoffy stopped him.
“Wait, before you go, I suggest you give this to the Apple Family,” Zoffy said as he pulled out a glass bottle with a note inside.
“What is it?” Zero asked, uncorking the bottle and taking out the note. On the note it said it was addressed to the Apple Family at Sweet Apple Acres.
“Something important to the Apple Family,” Zoffy answered.
“Where and when did you get this?” Zero questioned.
“When I came to Equestria to save Tiga, I spotted a gleaming object in the sea, I saw what it said on the bottle, and my plan was to give it to the Apple Family once I had save Tiga and defeated Hipporit,” Zoffy answered, “however I couldn’t for reasons you should know.”
“Oh right, you used your light to awaken Tiga and in doing so you sacrificed yourself,” Zero remembered.
“Correct,” Zoffy replied, “I best be getting back to the hospital, before the staff find out I’m gone.”
Zero nodded, and the two returned to their human forms as Yellow headed back to the hospital. Devon knew that looking at someone else’s letters is bad, but he was really curious who this was from. He unrolled the letter and a photo fell out, he saw the photo on the floor and picked it up, and was curious about two of the ponies in the photo.
“I feel like I’ve seen these two before,” Devon pointed as he looked at the note, then his eyes widened, “I need to get this to Applejack now!”
Applejack was just finishing clearing up the barn and was making her way back to the house. Apple Bloom was already asleep in bed, Big Mac was finishing up clearing the house and Granny Smith was asleep in her rocking chair. Also on the farm, there was Sam and Elena, Elena was trying to get used to her new abilities as an Eevee girl and Sam was training with her.
“Ok let’s try this one more time,” Sam said, “aim at the barrel and focus.”
“I know,” Elena replied, as she took a deep breath and focused on the target. She then jumped, spun around, and by swishing her tail, caused stars to shoot out and struck the target. Elena was overjoyed “I did it!”
“Well done!” Sam cheered, “that took so long to master.”
“Alrighty kids,” Applejack called out as she trotted up to them, “you might want to tone your voices down, ya don’t wanna wake Apple Bloom or Granny Smith up.”
“Sorry Auntie AJ,” Sam apologised.
“Yeah sorry,” Elena chimed in.
“Nah don’t sweat it,” Applejack responded, “now, I reckon it’s about time I took you two back home.”
“I guess it is getting rather late,” Sam pointed out.
“Yeah,” Elena yawned.
Just as Applejack was about to walk Sam and Elena back home, Devon came racing into the view.
“APPLEJACK!!!” he cried as he ran up to them.
“What in the tarnation has gotten into you?!” Applejack questioned.
“I-I have something for you,” Devon panted, handing Applejack the letter.
Applejack was confused and took a look at the letter, before turning back to Devon with an angry expression, “What in Tartarus, sort of a sick joke is this?!” she shouted.
“It’s no joke!” Devon explained, “Yellow gave it to me just now.”
“It’s he held up in the hospital?” Sam asked.
“This has to be some sick joke,” Applejack said, “they’ve been dead since I was a filly.”
“Are you sure,” Devon asked, pulling out the photo, “because this photo dates back to when I guess when Apple Bloom was only a few months old.” Devon showed Applejack the photo causing her expression to soften.
“It can’t be,” she stated softly, the photo was an old photo showing her and Big Mac as young foals, Granny Smith appearing younger, and baby Apple Bloom being held by a pale gamboge mare, sitting next to a yellow stallion with the proportions to Big Mac. Tears started to swell up in her eyes. “Ma. Pa.” was all she muttered.
“Applejack are you ok?” Elena asked.
“Y-yes,” AJ replied, snapping out of her trans, and wiping a tear away, “I was just thinking of them.”
“Of who?” Sam asked.
“My parents,” Applejack replied. Sam and Elena were shocked by this news, Sam had heard that about Applejack’s parents, but he didn’t know the whole story, “Where did you say you got this note from?” AJ asked Devon.
“When Zoffy gave to Equestria to help Tiga, he spotted this bottle in the sea, drifting away from this island,” Devon replied.
“Right, Big Macintosh!” Applejack cried out to her brother, “get the map out!” Applejack then galloped back inside followed by the three kids.
Big Mac had heard Applejack and had broken up the map of Equestria. Granny Smith was also now awake after hearing Applejack shout. They were both very confused.
“Applejack what's going on?” Granny Smith asked.
“I got here a letter from Ma and Pa!” Applejack told them, giving Granny Smith the letter.
“That’s impossible!” Granny Smith stated as she read the letter, “but this does seem like Bright Mac’s hoofwriting.”
“Eeeyup,” Big Mac remarked.
“What does it say,” Sam asked. Granny Smith cleared her throat and began to read:
Dear our sweet family,
Me and your mother are still alive. We have washed up on an island infested with monsters, and have no way of getting home. We have also been held captive by some creatures, with some hairless female ape, who seems to be out cold. Please send help.
Your all-loving Parents,
Bright Mac and Buttercup.
“And here’s the photo that was with the letter,” Applejack said showing the photo, Granny Smith and Big Mac looked at the photo and felt tears of their own starting to build up. Sam then noticed something on the back of the photo.
“Hey, what's on the back of it?” he asked. Applejack looked on the back and it was a drawing of a range of islands.
“That looks like some islands,” Applejack pointed out.
“Not just any islands,” Granny Smith told them, “those are the Gallopinghost Isles.”
“How do you know that?” Elena asked.
“When I was younger before I had Bright Mac, my husband was a friend of Daring Do’s grandpa, and I would often accompany them on explorations,” Granny Smith explained, “and I remember this exact view, I took Bright Mac there myself one day and he drew that view. And if my memory serves me correctly, the view from where he drew it was… here!”
Granny Smith pointed at an island on the map, the name above the island said, Friendship Island.
“The Island where holders of Equestria came together?” Applejack quizzed.
“Yes,” Granny Smith confirmed, “however in recent years, it’s become a hot spot for Kaiju, and has now been renamed to the Lawless Monster Zone. Some say that a rare source of power is sending out energy waves that attracted the monsters, others say, it's a creature from the fourth dimension that's luring the monsters to the island.”
“Well, either way, I suggest that we go and rescue them,” Applejack cried.
“Now hold your horses Youngster,” Granny Smith told her, “don’t just go running off all headstrong. In order to save your parents, we need a plan.”
“Ya right,” Applejack agreed, “I’m sorry.”
“We’ll discuss this in the morning with ya friends,” Granny Smith said, “for now, take the kids home and get some sleep.”
“Right,” Applejack agreed.
“Oh and don’t tell Apple Bloom, if she found out about all this she’ll want to go with you and you know you can’t change her mind once she makes it up,” Granny Smith said.
And with that, Applejack took the kids back home while Granny Smith told Big Mac to get some supplies ready for tomorrow.
“Tomorrow is gonna be a long day,” Granny Smith sighed to herself.”
Once Sam had arrived home, he and AJ told Twilight and Sunset the plan, Twilight then instructed Spike to write to the girls and set their alarms in the morning. As Celestia’s sun peeked over the mountains, and the townsfolk were waking up, Applejack and the other elements were getting ready for the trip to Friendship Island. What followed next was a montage of the girls getting ready for their journey.
Twilight packed a compass and map, while Sunset helped Sam and Gwen pack their things. Fluttershy made sure her animal friends were fed before flying off, and Rarity made sure she was wearing the right outfit to go on an expedition. Rainbow dashed around her house getting her things, and also making sure Tanks was happy, while Pinkie packed her bags full of party favours and balloons. Granny Smith and Big Mac helped AJ pack her bags for the trip and the Dazzlings packed each other’s bags. Trixie wasn’t coming, having been told by Twilight to stay and look after Ponyville while they were gone for the day.
Their meeting point was the docks at Horseshoe Bay, Twilight and Sunset being the first to arrive and Applejack and Fluttershy being the last.
“Is everyone here?” Twilight asked.
“I think so,” Applejack replied, counting all their heads, “that’s ten ponies and five children.”
“Alright,” Twilight nodded, “Applejack do you want to give them the talk?”
“I’ll be happy to,” Applejack responded, before standing in front of the girls, “Listen up team. Our goal is simple, to head to the place where the Founder of Equestria… Well, founded Equestria, and rescue my parents.”
“Seems easy enough,” Rainbow commented.
“Oh but it isn't,” Applejack told her, “According to Granny Smith Friendship Island has been renamed to the Lawless Monster Zone due to the uproar in monster activity on the island. So everyone best be careful.”
“Once we arrive on the island, we’ll split up into three teams,” Twilight continued, “team one will head to Dirtville, another will go to Unicornia and the third will head to Pegasopolis.”
“Anypony have any questions?” Applejack asked.
“Can we have a party when we’ve saved them?” Pinkie questioned.
“Maybe,” Applejack replied.
“Anyone else?” Twilight asked.
“Can we have some breakfast?” Sam inquired.
“Yeah you rushed us out without a chance to eat,” Gwen called out.
“Not now,” Twilight replied, “maybe when we get on the island and find a safe place. Plus you’ll just be sea sick if you eat before getting on a boat.”
“Darn,” Sam remarked.
“If no pony has any other questions, let’s get going,” Applejack told them. The gang got on the boat they hired, and set sail toward the Lawless Monster Zone.
The journey was long, and for Rainbow, slow. Their boat was like a small pirate ship, big enough to carry them all. Sam and Elena were sparring with each other again, while Rarity, Pinkie, Sunset and Adagio played a card game. Rainbow and Aria were flying around the ship to cure their boredom while Twilight and Applejack were up at the wheel controlling the ship. Gwen, Nick, Chris, and Devon were watching the world go by, but Devon seemed to be distracted. He was remembering his conversation with Zoffy last night, Zoffy told him that he felt a weak signal coming from the island but wasn’t sure if it was Yullian or something else. And now he was starting to feel a weak signal the closer he came to the island.
“Yo, Devon,” called Nick, “You ok bud? You seem distracted.”
“Yeah, yeah, I'm fine,” Devon replied, “Just thinking about something.”
“About what?” Chris asked.
“You guys remember why I’m here in Equestria in the first place?” Devon questioned.
“To find Princess Yullian,” Gwen answered.
“That’s right,” Devon replied.
“Oh right, I keep forgetting that Devon is just an identity you’ve adopted,” Nick stated.
“Yeah, well, I had a chat with Yellow last night,” Devon told them, “he told me that he felt a weak life signal coming from the island, but he was unsure if it was the Princess or something else. So while we look for AJ’s parents, I hope to find Yullian and complete my mission.”
“Heads up ponies!” called Applejack from the bridge, “we’re entering a thick layer of mist.”
AJ was right, the gang looked towards the front of the boat, as a large swarm of mist consumed the boat. Soon enough the gang couldn’t even see beyond the bow of the ship. Rainbow and Aria landed back on the ship as the other girls packed up their game of uno.
“This reminds me of that scene from How to Train your Dragon,” Elena whispered to Sam.
“When they have Toothless chained up, to guide them to the island,” Sam muttered back, “yeah I remember that.”
Everyone was silent, they couldn’t hear anything save for the splashing of the waves on the boat. The ship would pass rocks sticking out of the water, but the ponies could barely see them from the mist. Eventually the gang could hear the cries of monsters from the island as they sailed closer. Little did they know that as they sailed the boat along the water, it seemed to be attracting something from down below the waves. Before long, the boat struck land with a hard crash, the boat slid off the sand before coming to a stop.
“I think we’re here,” Sonata pointed out.
The gang dismounted from the boat and Applejack looked at how bad the damage was.
“It seems we slid quite a far distance from the sea up on to the beach,” she assessed, “If we want to get off this island, we’ll have to work together to get it back into the water.”
“Or we could wait for the tide to reach all the way up the beach,” Pinkie suggested.
“Pinkie that could take forever,” Rainbow moaned, “look how far the sea is.”
The girls looked back and saw the sea retracting back, it was moving away pretty far, revealing more of the beach. Then Twilight knew why, she looked up to see a massive tidal wave building up speed.
“Girls, Run!” She shouted, the girls then all saw what she was meaning, and ran up the beach to the forest on the other end.
The water smashed on the beach, and quickly caught up with the girls and kids. The Kids all changed into their Ultrasuits and hovered above the sea. Twilight, Rainbow Fluttershy, and Aria grabbed Sunset, Pinkie, Applejack and Adagio, while Ultraman, Jack and Ultraseven grabbed Elena, Rarity and Sonata and lifted them up just as the sea rushed underneath them. Their boat, unfortunately, was washed away by the tsunami.
“That was close,” Sonata retorted.
Just as she said that, the sea erupted, and from it emerged two gigantic monsters, one was a sea monster composed entirely out of kelp, and the other was round in shape and was covered in suction cups. It was the Sludge monster Zazahn and the Oil Monster Takkong.

“Holy moly!” Pinkie cried.
As soon as the two monsters emerged, they started to fight. Zazahn started smacking Takkong, before picking it up and throwing it back into the water. This caused more of the sea to flood the beach. The brawling continued, as Takkong slammed its body into Zazahn, shoving it into a cliff side and causing boulders to break away and fall off the cliff into the waves below.
“Everypony run!” Pinkie shouted in terror.
“We’re flying!” Rainbow replied back.
“You know what I mean!” Pinkie cried.
The girls and Ultras flew away from the rampaging monsters, as Zazahn tried smacking Takkong again, but the Oil monster managed to knock Zazahn over. As the fight continued, the gang managed to get to a safe distance where the flooding water wouldn’t get them.
“Is everypony ok?” Twilight called out as she lowered Sunset gently down to the ground. Everyone nodded in response.
“Alright, Twilight, can you do me a favour?” Applejack asked.
“Sure,” Twilight replied as Applejack pulled out a map.
“This is the map of the island,” She told her, “can you fly up and mark where exactly we are?”
Twilight nodded as she took the map and a pencil before flying up into the sky above the tail trees before sitting on a cloud. She looked around and asset where they were. She could see the mountain side of Unicornia, the clouds of Pegasopolis and the rooftops of Dirt Ville. She could also hear and see the monsters from the beach. After a few more moments Twilight gently hovered back down to the ground.
“By my calculations, I have assessed that we are somewhere near the middle of the island,” she said pointing at a mark on the map, “I suggest to cover more ground and to save time, that we split up into teams.”
“I agree,” Applejack said.
“Right, Adagio, you go west with Rainbow and Pinkie to Pegasopolis,” Twilight told her.
“Roger,” Adagio nodded, “Come on you two.”
“Race ya!” Pinkie cried as she dashed off in the direction of Pegasopolis.
“Oh you’re on!” Rainbow shouted as she flew after her friend. Adagio just sighed and rolled her eyes as she galloped after them.
“Gwen and Nick, you two go with them,” Sam told his team.
“Right,” the two replied as they ran after Adagio and the others.
“Sunset, you take Fluttershy and Sonata to Dirt Ville in the east,” Sunset said as she, Fluttershy and Sonata ran off to the east.
Sam turned to his remaining teammates, “me and Elena will…”
“Actually Sam, can I go with Devon on this one,” Elena asked.
“Wait really?” Sam remarked surprised.
“Don’t worry bro, I’ll keep her out of trouble,” Devon replied.
“Oh al-alright,” Sam responded, “Then me and Chris will go with them. You two say with rest.”
Devon and Elena nodded, and after Elena pecked Sam on the cheek, Sam, and Chris, dashed off after Sunset.
“Right, So that leaves us to tackle Unicornia,” Twilight told the remaining ponies and children.
Everyone nodded and they started heading north towards the mountains.
Sunset’s group walked on through the forest. Sunset led the group with Sonata cheerfully humming to herself as she trotted along. Fluttershy was further back, and she was feeling quite nervous. If Sam wasn’t walking beside her, she would have fainted like a goat. Soon, came out of the forest to a clearing, where tons of empty and abandoned houses had stood for centuries.
“Woah,” the group gasped in awe.
“Yep, welcome to Dirt Ville,” Sunset told them.
“I’ll be honest, with a name like ‘Dirt Ville’, I was thinking it was a mound of dirt,” Sam replied.
“Well that’s what it was described in the stories, “Sunset explained, “Not many ponies know this, but Dirt Ville, and the other two are real places.”
“Really?” Sonata quizzed as they all wandered into town.
“Yeah,” Sunset replied, “after the founders of Equestria made up and started working together, they began constructing their little villages for their tribes. After a few hundred years, the island started to drain up with resources, so the ponies migrated to different regions of Equestria.”
“Interesting,” Chris remarked.
“So what are we looking for again?” Sonata asked.
“Just any sign of evidence that proves that shows that this Princess of the Land of Light or AJ’s parents have been here,” Sunset told them.
The group then split up to have a look around. Fluttershy took to the air to get a Bird's Eye view, she even spoke to some of the animals that lived nearby if they had seen or knew anything, but she didn’t have much luck. Sunset and Sonata checked the houses for anything, but all they could find was dusty old plates and wooden chairs. Sam and Chris examined clearing around Dirt Ville but still couldn’t find anything they were gonna give up and meet up with the others but then, Chris thought he saw something.
“Hey Sam, do you see that?” he asked.
“See what?” Sam questioned.
“On that sign over there,” Chris pointed out.
Sam took a closer look, and he saw it too, something was sticking out from it. Chris and Sam came closer to the sign. The sign read, ‘Welcome to Dirt Ville’ and attached to the sign was a clump of fur. A sort of pale orange coloured clump of fur.
“It’s some fur,” Sam stated.
“Let me scan it,” Chris said, as he donned his Jack suit and scanned the fur, “my scan is giving readings that this fur belongs to an earth pony mare.”
“Hmm, it smells like… pears?” Sam remarked, giving the fur a sniff.
“Why did you give it a sniff?” Chris asked, perplexed by Sam’s actions.
“I was just curious,” Sam replied, “it feels really soft as well.”
“Hey!” cried a voice, Sam and Chris turned to see Sonata, Sunset and Fluttershy coming over to them, “did you find anything!”
“We found some fur,” Sam told them, “and it smells like pears.”
“I scanned it and it’s from an earth pony mare,” Chris replied.
“Well that’s something,” Sunset remarked
As Fluttershy landed, she took a step forward and tripped on something. She yelped in fright as she fell to the ground.
“Fluttershy!” Sunset cried in alarm, “Are you ok?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Fluttershy replied, “I just tripped and startled me.”
“What did you trip on?” Sonata asked. The group all looked down, and saw there were hoof prints in the ground, multiple hoof prints.
“Woah,” Sam stated.
“They seem to come up to the sign from the left, then take a sharp turn to the right, and head back into the forest,” Chris commented.
“But say this was AJ’s parents, who do the other hoof prints belong to?” Sam questioned.
“And what would cause them to run so fast, that they scraped on the sign and left behind some fur?” Chris quizzed.
Suddenly the ground started to rumble, softly at first but started to build up, the group looked to a nearby puddle, and saw the water ripple more and more. Then they heard a roar in the distance. They all turned to the source of the roar as a monster suddenly appeared from the ocean nearby.
“Maybe that!” Fluttershy squeaked, pointing at the monster.
The kaiju was 44 metres tall, with a long tail and spikes at the end of it. It had long sharp claws, and blue skin. It also had a massive horn on its head and two large ears on the side of its head. It was the Brutal Space Monster Kelbim.

Presently, a second monster appeared from the forest and roared at Kelbim. It was a monster that Sam had first fought when he came to Equestria, Arstron.

“Everyone get to cover!” Sam shouted, everyone ran and hid in one of the houses as Arstron roared at Kelbim and stomped towards it.
Arstron closed the distance and the two started to brawl, Kelbim smacked Arstron in the face with its sharp claws, scaring Arstron’s face in the process. As Kelbim went in for another smack, Arstron caught it arm, and using its strength held it back, but this just left Kelbim to smack Arstron on the back with its other claw.
Kelbim got free, and slammed its head into Arstron’s side, causing the Violent monster to stumble back. Kelbim went to slash at Arstron, but Arstron dodged it and smacked Kelbim in return. Kelbim tried spinning around and smacking Arstron with its spiked tail, but Arstron caught it and started to pull Kelbim towards it, before striking it in the back with its horn on its head. Kelbim roared in pain and used its spiked tail to strike Arstron in the back of the head.
Arstron roared in pain and let go of Kelbim’s tail, as the Brutal Space Monster turned around and raised its ears up, and started to spit its projectile vomit at Arstron. The Violent Monster roared in pain as the fireballs exploded around it and upon contact. This continued for a few more seconds until Arstron fell to the ground.
Kelbim walked up to Arstron, to check if it did kill it. Kelbim kicked Arstron’s horn but there was no movement, Kelbim double checked and Arstron still didn’t move. Kelbim let out a victorious roar, as it stood over its kill.
The group had seen it all happen, and needed to get back to the safety of the forest. They took the chance and made a run for it, but when Fluttershy turned back around to look at the monster, Kelbim was staring down at them.
“AAAAHHHHH!” she screamed and dashed off running past the others in fear.
Kelbim was about to give chase, when suddenly Arstron sprung back to life, having played dead to fool the space monster. This startled Kelbim as Arstron grabbed the Brutal Space Monster’s ears and tore them clean off. Kelbim cried in pain as it felt where its were once there. Arstron threw the ears to the ground, as Kelbim was disorientated, Arstron charged up and fired a powerful stream of magma at the Brutal Space Monster, destroying it one blast. Arstron roared in victory, but then turned to see group making a break to the forest. Arstron snorted and started to chase after them.
Meanwhile, with Adagio’s group, they had just reached the cloudy village of Pegasopolis. Rainbow and Pinkie arrived at the same time and had been arguing who won the race.
“I arrived first Pinkie!” Rainbow shouted.
“Naha, I was!” Pinkie cried, getting in Rainbow’s face.
“Didn’t you see my rainbow trail as I dashed past you?” Rainbow queried.
“And didn’t you see my pinkie trail as I zipped past you?!” Pinkie snapped back.
“Will you two… shut up,” Adagio retorted, as she arrived panting.
“She started it!” both of them remarked, pointed at each other.
“I don’t care,” Adagio told them, “geez, you two are more childish than the children.”
“Hey!” Gwen said, as she and Nicholas caught up to them.
“Oh, sorry you two,” Adagio apologised, “anyway, we need to get back on track.”
“Right,” they all agreed.
Rainbow flew up to look in the abandoned houses of Pegasopolis, while the others scrounge around on the ground. But they didn’t seem to have as much luck in finding anything either. For one, Applejack’s parents were earth ponies, so finding anything in Pegasopolis itself wouldn’t make sense. And looking on the ground doesn’t help much either, as there was nothing but dirt and rocks. Not even Gwen and Nick could find anything with their Ultra vision.
“Found anything?” Rainbow Dash called out to the rest.
“Nope,” Pinkie replied, “this place is more stainless than my cake trays.”
“I’ve got nothing either,” Adagio responded, “well apart from some hoof prints in the ground.”
“Where?” Rainbow asked. Adagio took them to where she found some hoof prints in the ground. Pinkie was in aww, but Rainbow wasn’t as sure. “Are you sure these could be their hoof prints? Are you sure they’re not yours?”
“Now here’s why I know,” Adagio said, “One trail of hoof prints is much wider than my hoof.” She stepped into the hoof print to prove her word.
“Alright,” Rainbow nodded, “but what about the other tracks?”
“These tracks are more oval shape compared to our circular hoof print,” Adagio replied, pressing her hoof next to the tracks to compare sizes.
“Ok you got me there,” Rainbow stated.
Suddenly the three of them heard an ear piercing scream. They ran over to where the scream came from and found that it was Gwen. Gwen turned to face them, and she had green goo on her face and chest.
“Gwen! Are you ok?!” Pinkie cried.
“What's this green stuff on you?” Adagio asked, teleporting a tissue in and wiping the green stains away.
“It came from that,” Nick said, as he pointed at something a little disturbing and disgusting.
The ponies looked and felt like they were going to be sick. What they saw was the upper half of a creature. It was black, and was pony shaped but it had insectoid features, and holes in its legs, as well as transparent insect wings.
“What is that?” Gwen asked, still feeling traumatised from getting splashed with its green blood.
“That is the bisected remains of a Changeling,” Rainbow told her.
“There are Changelings here?!” Pinkie cried.
“We don’t know for sure,” Rainbow replied, “this could have been just the remains of some flying monster’s snack.”
“Actually, we might have to consider that Changelings are here,” Adagio told them.
“Why?” Rainbow asked, Adagio pointed at the changeling’s hooves, and then pointed to the oval shaped hoof prints.
“Oh,” Rainbow gulped.
“Where did it come from?” Pinkie asked.
“It just fell off from that mountain,” Nick replied, pointing at the massive hill covered in jagged rocks.
“That’s strange,” Adagio commented, “When Twilight showed me the map, there was no mountain here.”
“Maybe the map is out of date,” Rainbow guessed.
“No I don’t think it is,” Adagio responded.
“Hy guys, hear something inside this mountain,” Pinkie called to them, “it sounds like… a heartbeat?”
“Wait what?” Adagio quizzed, Suddenly the ground started to rumble, as a geyser of earth erupted from the ground.
The group turned to see a massive mole-like monster rise form the ground. The monster was the colour of dirt, with large red claws, long curved spikes on its back, and head, and a drill-like nose. This was the Clod monster, Angross.

Angross let out a shrieking roar, which then caused the mountain to shift and shake. The ponies and children began to panic.
“Pinkie! Get back!” Rainbow shouted, Pinkie wasted no time in bolting away. As the mountain started to rise out of the ground.
The mountain turned out to be a monster, and a very rocky monster. It was quadrupedal, with rocks forming its body. It had glowing orange eyes, one oval shaped on one side of its face, and three circular eyes on the other side. It was the Space Conglomerate Monster, Gromite.

The group yelled in fear and charged for cover. As the two earthy behemoths challenged each other. The two roared before charging forward and slamming their sides together. Angross smacked Gromite in the face with one of its giant claws, the Space Conglomerate Monster retaliated by slamming its own front claws into Angross when it stood up, forcing it backwards.
Angross then stood back up and started to strike Gromite’s back, but due to how armoured Gromite was, Angross didn’t scratch it, as Gromite forced it off itself. Angross cried out loud, as it bent over, and charged towards Gromite, colliding with it, and knocking it over.
Angross spun back around before lunging at Gromite, and tried using its jackhammer drill nose to smash through Gromite’s head. But Gromite’s armour was too thick to drill through, and so Gromite struck Angross to get it off, sending the Glod Monster flying to the ground, only landing a few metres from the group.
Gromite charged forward and started smashing its front claw into Angross’ chest. With the strength Angross had left, it managed to get Gromite off it, but it wasn’t fast enough to dodge Gromite’s next attack. Gromite opened its mouth, charged up its energy, and fired multiple blasts of dark red and black energy at Angross. The Clod Monster let out a pained cry before falling to the ground and exploding.
Gromite let out a victorious roar, shaking the earth and the ponies.
“That was totally wicked!” Pinkie screamed in joy, she had enjoyed the monster brawl. But due to Pinkie screaming, Gromite turned in their direction and saw them before giving a soft growl.
“Pinkie!” Rainbow and Adagio bellowed in annoyance.
“Oops,” Pinkie squeaked, covering her muzzle in shame.
Gromite let out a roar, which made the earth around the group shake, Rainbow flew up into the air and with an outstretched leg, she tried to kick the monster. But that was as bad as you could expect, she left barely a scratch on Gromite and did more to her own leg. She screamed in pain and flew back to the group before they all ran off back into the forest, with Gromite in hot pursuit.
Meanwhile, the third group were just arriving at the mountain that led to the abandoned Town of Unicornia. Twilight led the group, map levitating in front of her face, Applejack walked beside her, while Rarity and Aria backed up the rear. Devon and Elena walked in between the convoy, Elena walked on all fours, and it made it easier to climb to the mountain. In the distance they could hear monster cries coming from down the mountain.
“We’re nearly at Unicornia everypony,” Twilight called out, “just over this little bit here.”
Soon after passing over large boulders, they arrived at Unicornia. They saw that at one point of time it was rather posh, something akin to that in Canterlot.
“I guess the unicorns like to have a view from up here,” Aria remarked, “it’s looking over nearly the whole island.”
“Alright gang, let’s get to searching,” Applejack told them, “try and find anything that might give us a sign that my Ma and Pa were here.”
“And I’ll see if I can find a trace of the Princess,” Devon replied.
The group split up, to have a search, but Elena went after Applejack. She had something on her mind, and she wanted to ask AJ.
“AJ?” she called out.
“Yes, Sugarcube?” Applejack replied.
“Can… Can I ask you something?” Elena said.
“Sure, what’s on your mind?” Applejack questioned.
“I’m just being a little curious and nosey here,” Elena admitted.
“Oh,” Applejack replied, she seemed like she didn’t like to talk about it.
“I’m sorry if I upset you, I won’t bring it up again,” Elena said before trying to walk away.
“No, no, it’s alright Sugarcube,” Applejack called to her, “I guess it’s best for you to know.”
Applejack sat down on the ground, as Elena came closer she began her tale.
“It happened back when Apple Bloom was only a few months old. I had gotten in a fight with Rarity a few days before the incident, and she wanted to apologise to me. She made crossing an old rope bridge that was at the back of my orchard which crossed a torrent over a small ravine. As Rarity crossed it, it started to snap, and soon it completely snapped in the middle of the left side. She screamed for help, and luckily, Me, Ma and Pa were close by. When we got there, Pa held right stump to steady it as Ma climbed across to save Rarity. Once she was on Ma’s back, the rope holding up the right side snapped, quickly thinking, Pa grabbed it with his teeth and using all his strength held it as long as his could. The sudden jolt caused Rarity to slip off Ma’s back, she caught her with her hoof, but her grip was slipping. She then threw Rarity towards the cliffside, where I then grabbed her. Pa was holding back as hard as he could, but his hooves got too close to the edge, and then… it happened. The edge chipped off, causing Pa slip off, and him along with Ma fell into the raging torrent below. That last thing I saw was their terrified faces as they looked back at me. I hoisted Rarity back on to safe ground, but then just stared off. The last thing that remained of my parents, was Pa’s hat. I could hear Rarity apologising, but it was lost in an echo, I just couldn’t believe what had happened.”
Applejack began to tear up, as she finished the story, “Rarity still blames herself for the loss of my parents, but I don’t blame her,” Applejack continued, “the bridge was old, and needed to come down anyway. I just didn’t expect it to also take my parents with it.”
Elena had been listening carefully, she was so saddened by this, that she changed from her Eevee form to her Vaporeon form. She wrapped her arms around Applejack to comfort her. AJ was a little taken aback by the sudden embrace, but she accepted it. Not far off from this little scene, Aria and Rarity had been listening to the tale as well.
“Geez, I didn’t realise it was that sad,” Aria commented, “do you really blame yourself?”
“I do,” Rarity replied, her voice sounding a little raspy, “If we never had gotten into that fight, I wouldn’t have crossed the bridge, and AJ would still have her parents.”
Aria was silent for a little bit, she just listened to Rarity sob, trying to think of what to say.
“You know,” she finally said, “there’s something that our mothers would tell us when I was a filly.”
“What was that?” Rarity asked.
“You can’t change the past, so look forward to the future,” Aria replied, “so don’t dwell on it, and look towards the future. That’s why we’re here, so we can undo that mistake, and prove death wrong.”
This made Rarity chuckle, “thanks Aria,” she said with a soft smile.
“Heh, sorry, I’m not good at this sort of thing,” Aria admitted, rubbing the back of her head.
“Don’t worry Darling,” Rarity said, “I know what you mean.”
Meanwhile, with Twilight and Devon, the two were still looking for any trace of AJ’s parents and/or the princess. Devon, donned in his true form of Ultraman Zero, was trying to scan the area for any life signals.
“Damn these blasted energy waves,” he stated in frustration, “I can’t get a clear signal of any life signs. A Bullton must be behind these waves. That would explain why I hear space kaiju on this island.”
Devon was going to give up until he finally found a weak Ultra life signal coming from a cave entrance along the mountain side.
“Twilight?” he called out, “I’m getting a weak life signal coming from that cave over there.”
Twilight perked up when she heard him call her. She called the others over and they all went to see where Zero was pointing.
“That’s the cave the Founders of Equestria all wide up and made peace with each other,” Twilight told them.
“Wasn’t it just a small cave?” Applejack asked.
“It might have widened over time,” Aria commented.
“Well let’s go and have a look,” Elena said.
“Alright everypony, just remember to be careful,” Twilight told them, “We don’t know what to expect there.”
The group walked around the mountain towards the entrance to the cave. With Zero leading them, the group entered the dark cave. It was dark and damp in the cavern, Elena had changed from Vaporeon to Umbreon, and used Flash to light the way. Thanks to his Ultra Vision, Zero could see through the dark, while Twilight and Rarity lit the horns to illuminate the cave.
“Stick close together everypony,” Twilight told them.
“Are you getting anything?” Applejack asked.
“It’s hard to say,” Zero replied, as he ducked so he wouldn’t smack his head on the roof of the cave, “I think I’m too tall from this cave.”
“Wait, what’s that?” Elena called out as she shone her flash on something on the ground. The others look at what Elena had spotted.
“What is it?” Aria asked.
“It looks like a chunk of somepony’s tail or mane,” Twilight replied.
“Oh no,” Applejack retorted, “that’s the same colour as my pa’s mane.”
The others gasped, Zero picked up the hair, and had an idea. He turned to Elena with his hand open.
“Elena, can you sniff this and pick up the scent?” he asked.
“Can I even do that?” Elena questioned.
“You are like a fox,” Zero replied. Elena shrugged, and sniffed the hair. She then sniffed the air around a bit then her eyes lit up.
“I can smell something!” she cried, “It could be your father!”
“Really?!” Applejack exclaimed, hoping to fill her eyes.
“Show I go ahead and find them,” Elena asked.
“No, it’s too dangerous for you to go off on your own,” Twilight told her.
“I’ll be careful,” Elena replied, “plus, I have my abilities if I need to fight back.”
“I’m still not sure,” Twilight responded.
“Come on Twilight, please,” Elena stated, “I want to help and do my part.”
“Alright fine,” Twilight sighed, “but tell Sam, he’ll be too concerned for your own safety.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine,” Elena responded, with the yellow rings around her black fur glowing, Elena dashed off down the narrow cave. The others soon started to follow behind her, when suddenly, the cave started to rumble, and rocks started to break from the walls.
“It’s a cave in!” Rarity screamed, as they all huddled together, while Zero stood over them and protected them. Elena heard the rocks falling behind her and she ran as fast as she could and managed to out run the falling rocks as she entered a room.
“Is everypony ok,” Twilight called out.
“aside from being a little dusty, we’re ok,” Aria replied.
“Speak for yourself,” Rarity complained. They all turned to Rarity, and then to the tunnel that had been sealed off by the falling rubble.
“Elena! Sugarcube!” Applejack called out through the rocky wall, “Are you Ok?!”
“Yes!” Elena replied, her voice muffled through the rubble.
“That’s a relief,” Rarity breathed a sigh.
“I seem to be in a large room,” Elena replied, looking around the room with her flash, “Is there any way you can get through?”
“The boulders completely cut us off,” Applejack replied, “we’ll have to find another way around.”
“Well that’s lucky, a new path has opened up,” Aria pointed out.
“Good news, Elena!” Twilight cried, “we’ve found another way.”
“That was fast,” Elena remarked to herself.
“Just say put Darling,” Rarity called out, “We'll see if we can meet up with you!”
“Ok,” Elena cried, “I’ll keep looking for them, I think I might be getting close.”
“Just be careful!” Twilight called out, “come on ponies, let’s keep going.” They nodded and started making their way down the newly opened path.
Elena meanwhile continued her search, the scent getting stronger as she carefully walked through the cavern, her rings glowing brightly, lighting up the room. She rounded a corner and gasped. She had entered a room filled with sickly green pods hanging from the roof. She gulped, as she looked up at the pods, she shone her flash on one of the pods, and saw inside, a black insectoid pony.
“These must be Changelings,” she remarked to herself. “But are these like charging pods, or is this how they’re born?”
Luckily, they all seemed to be asleep, she wasn’t alone. From the shadows of the cave, something or someone was stalking her. But Elena, with her new heightened hearing, she could hear the creature lurking in the background.
“Dark Pulse!” Elena shouted as she spun around and fired a beam of dark energy at the creature.
As the beam struck the creature, it caused it to scream in pain and fall to the ground. Elena took a look at the creature, and it appeared to be a changeling, but this one was much taller, and had a sickly green mane and tail. As well as a crown on its head.
“Did… Did I just strike the Queen of the Changelings?” Elena remarked, a little shocked that it was that easy.
She turned her back to the queen and looked at the pods again. She didn’t know that her attack didn’t do much to her, and she didn’t notice the queen’s eyes slowly open, and a grin formed on her face.
Back with the others, they were heading down the equally narrow path. As they walked down the path, they couldn’t deny that the temperature was rising.
“Is it me, or is it starting to get really hot?” Aria asked.
“No, it’s not you,” Applejack replied, “I feel the heat as well.”
“Sweet Celestia,” Rarity commented, “I’m so hot, my makeup is melting off.”
“We need to push on girls,” Twilight told them, “even if it's really hot, we need to carry on.”
“I’m struggling to detect that life signal,” Zero replied, “the heat is messing with my scanner. I’m starting to detect a massive heat signature.”
Soon the group entered a giant room, where it was hotter than ever.
“Geez,” Aria panted, “are we in a pit of Fireworms!”
“The massive heat signature is coming from that larger boulder,” Zero said, “though actually the texture looks really familiar.”
Suddenly they all heard a scream coming from another tunnel higher up. The scream echoed around the cavern, it sounded like Elena.
“Elena!” Zero cried. Then there was a soft growl, as the massive, heated boulder started to rumble. Then Zero knew what this was. “This isn’t a boulder.”
“What? What is it then?” Applejack asked.
“It’s a kaiju,” was all Zero replied, as an eye opened and stared right at them.
The monster started to shift and stand up, revealing itself to the group. It had a large yellow horn on its head, its skin was the colour of obsidian and it had large razor sharp spikes on its back. It was the Molten Iron Monster, Demaaga.

Demaaga roared and fired a beam at the roof of the cavern, causing the roof to start crumbling as it started to borrow away. Zero did his best to protect the girls from the falling rocks, once they stopped falling, Zero looked to the hole the Demaaga had dug.
“You girls go check on Elena,” Zero told them, “I’ll go after Demaaga.”
“Be careful,” Twilight told him, Zero nodded as he jumped into the hole and flew after Demaaga. While Twilight and Aria picked up Rarity and Applejack and carried them across the hole.
Demaaga burst out the side of the mountain and came off a roar, letting its presence known, when suddenly Zero, now grown in size, kicked Demaaga in the back pushing it out the tunnel. Demaaga stumbled forward, before turning around to face Ultraman Zero, who struck a fighting pose before charging forward and kicking Demaaga in the chest. Demaaga stumbled backwards as Zero grabbed it by the head, before punching it in the side. Demaaga roared in pain as it stood up leaving its chest exposed as Zero punched it in the chest.
As Demaaga bent over in pain, Zero grabbed it by the head, spun it around, and kneed it in the chest before throwing it off. Demaaga roared as it slammed its head in Zero, sending the Ultra stumbling backwards. Zero rolled on the ground before correcting himself and charging back at the monster. Zero grabbed Demaaga’s horn as the Molten Iron Monster pushed back against the Ultra, Zero wrestled with Demaaga’s head for a bit before elbowing it in the neck and roundhouse kicking it in the face.
Annoyed, Demaaga fired a beam of molten iron and fired fireballs from its back at Ultraman Zero, but Zero dodged it and shunted his shoulder into Demaaga’s chest. Demaaga slammed its side into Zero before spinning around and striking Zero in the face with its tail, sending the Ultra to the ground. With Zero on the ground, Demaaga became smacking and slashing at him, and was about to go in for another strike, when he was suddenly blasted by something. Demaaga cried in pain as it toppled over, it turned out that it was Sam and the others, all in their Ultrasuits.
“Thanks for the hand,” Zero called.
“No problem,” Ultraman replied.
“Go and help the others,” Zero told them, "they might have found AJ’s parents.”
“Roger,” Ultraman responded, and the team flew into the cavern that Demaaga had burst out from.
“Right, round two,” Zero remarked as he stood back up, he then crossed his arms and his suit started to change, in a flash of his Beam Lamp. Soon his colours had turned from red and blue, to two different shades of blue, “Miracle Luna Zero!”

Demaaga roared before charging up another molten iron heat ray, trading strength for extra speed, Zero jumped up and dodged it in a flash. He zoomed towards Demaaga and hit it with a pulse of energy from his palm. Demaaga stumbled back as Zero jumped off the side of the mountain and changed forms again. This time, changing to red and gold, and trading speed for strength. “Strong Corona Zero!”

Zero landed on the ground as Demaaga fired another beam attack, but Zero tanked it as he charged up his own attack and launched a fiery beam at Demaaga. Zero changed back to his original form before charging at Demaaga, and getting it head in a headlock. Demaaga broke free and two began to wrestle more, as they did, a shady, hooded figure stopped at the entrance to the cave on top of the mountain. They smiled down at Zero and Demaaga, before pulling a Devil Splinter out from her cloak. The figure then threw the Devil Splinter, and it landed on Demaaga before it absorbed itself into the monster.
Demaaga cried in agony, as Zero stood back from what was happening. He was confused by this and turned to shock, when Demaaga’s eyes glowed red. It then grew blades on its arms and back, as red veins appeared on its body. The Devil Splinter had turned Demaaga into Devil Demaaga.

The Figure smirked at their handy work, as Devil Demaaga roared in fury. Zero tried to attack Demaaga but the beast used its new blades to slash at Zero, causing extreme pain.
“This isn’t looking good,” Zero remarked, “I best finish this quickly. Otherwise I’ll run out of energy.”
Zero charged up his energy, and fired another Wide Shot Zero at Demaaga, exploding on impact. But this did nothing to Demaaga, as it walked out of the dust cloud, and roared in fury. Zero was shocked that that did nothing, as Demaaga charged up its Molten Iron Heat Ray, now empowered with the dark energy of the Devil Splinter, and fired it at Zero. It struck Zero in the chest and sent him flight into the mountain, as he cried in agony. Zero struggled to get up, as his colour timer started to flash, he tried to attack Devil Demaaga again, but the Devil Monster kept slashing at Zero with its blades. Every slash caused Zero to shed some Ultra blood, Zero could feel himself losing Specium Energy more and more every slash. Devil Demaaga roared one more time as it slashed Zero across the chest. Zero’s colour was flashing dangerously fast, with one last groan, Zero fell against the mountain, his eyes went out, his colour timer stopped flashing, and his body fell limp. Zero was dead.
Devil Demaaga roared in victory, but it was short lived, as it turned around, it saw Arstron, Takkong and Gromite making their way to it. The monsters wanted to battle Demaaga, which they accepted by charging at them.
At the same time that Zero was fighting Demaaga, Twilight her group were running up the tunnel where Elena’s scream had cried from. They hoped she was alright as they ran up the dark passage with only their horns as a light source.
“Elena! Don’t worry we’re coming!” cried Twilight, the four ran faster until they came to the room, where open changeling pods hung from the roof.
But the pods were empty, and the changelings were all lying on the floor defeated. In the centre of them all was Elena back in her Eevee form, she seemed to be panting.
“Elena?” Twilight called out, “Are you ok?” Elena perked up at hearing them and turned around to face them.
“Oh thank goodness you came,” she replied, “yeah, I’m fine now.”
“We heard you scream,” Applejack said.
“Oh that, the changelings came out the pods and scared me,” Elena replied, “but I took care of them. A little fire over there, and little ice over here.”
“Impressive,” Aria remarked.
“Why didn’t these hatch?” Rarity asked, motion to three unopened pods.
Twilight flew up to them and with her horn lit, looked inside one of the pods. She gasped when she saw that a pony was inside it. Using her magic, she gently pulled the pod off the roof, and gently set it on the floor. She did the same with the other two pods.
“What is it Twi?” Applejack asked.
“These three had ponies inside,” she told them, everyone gasped. Just then Ultraman and the other Ultras arrived.
“Zero told us that you might have found her,” Ultraman said.
“And what happened here?” Ultraseven asked, looking around at all the defeated Changeling bodies.
“Long story,” Elena replied.
“I think AJ’s parents are inside these pods,” Twilight explained, “can you four help remove them from the pods.”
The Ultras nodded, and went to work. First Ultraman, and Jack gently opened the pods so as not to hurt whoever was inside, then Seven and Mary pulled them out. One was a stallion, with pale, light, greyish olive fur, and brilliant red mane and tail, his cutie mark was half a green apple with a star in the centre. The other was a mare, with pale gamboge fur, and brilliant gamboge mane and tail. Her cutie mark was a jar of preserves. Applejack stared at them, she couldn’t contain her smile or tears.
“Ma, Pa,” she said softly.
As Jack and Seven gotta work opening the third pod, Mary uses her healing powers to heal the two ponies. Slowly, the two began to wake up. They groaned, as they slowly sat up.
“Sweet Celestia,” said the mare, “what happened?”
“Buttercup? Is that you?” called out the stallion.
“Bright Mac? I’m here,” Buttercup replied, “why can’t I see you?”
“A side effect of this Changeling goo inside the pods can cause temporary blindness,” Twilight spoke out, patting Applejack on the back, “their vision should start to come back shortly.”
“W-who’s there?” Bright Mac called out.
“Ok calm down,” Twilight told them, “you’re among friends.”
“Who are you?” Buttercup replied.
“I’m Princess Twilight Sparkle,” she replied.
“Princess?” Bright Mac questioned, “I thought Celestia was the only Princess.”
“Oh you’ve been gone for a while,” Ultraman retorted.
“Who was that?!” Buttercup jumped.
“That’s my adoptive son,” Twilight continued, “I’m here with my friends. Aria Blaze, Rarity, and… Applejack.”
“Apple…Jack?” the parents breathed, in utter shock.
Slowly, their visions started to return, and they could make up the shapes of Twilight, Rarity, and Aria. But their eyes quickly fell upon their daughter, orange fur, singed mane and tail, missing hat, and burn marks, from when she was trapped in the ring of fire.
“Hi, Ma. Hi Pa,” Applejack raised a hoof to wave, but was immediately swallowed in a hug by her parents.
“Oh our little AJ,” Buttercup softly said.
“We missed you so much,” Bright Mac quietly expressed.
Applejack couldn’t hold it back anymore, she burst into tears and buried her face into her parents shoulders.
“Ugh, guys?” called Jack, “I don’t think this third one is a pony.”
“In fact, she’s a human girl,” Seven responded.
“What?” Ultraman said turning around, in was true, the three pod contained a human girl. Her hair was done up in pony tail, she had a light blue top, jean shorts, grew thigh sock, and boots.
“She’s quite a cutie,” Seven remarked.
“I can have an Ultra sister,” Mary commented.
“What’s wrong with me?” Ultraman moaned, sounding offended.
“Nothing,” Mary replied, “It just would be nice to have another girl around.”
“Yeah but how do we wake her up?” Seven questioned.
“I’ll just use my healing light to awaken her,” Mary said, as she focused her powers and released a healing light from her palms.
The light enveloped the girl, healing her cuts and scratches. Once Mary had stopped, the girl started to stir awake. She groaned as she looked around, her vision was blurry but soon started to focus, and the first thing she saw was Nick who had taken off his helmet.
“Morning,” he greeted with a smile.
“AH!” the girl screamed, she was so shocked that she sucker punched Nick in the face.
“Ow!” he cried, “what the heck?!”
“Why were you in my face like that?!” the girl shouted.
“We just helped you out of a Changeling pod!” Nick responded.
The girl looked behind her, and saw the pod. Then she blushed and felt bad, “Oh, heh, sorry about that,” she replied, as she struggled to get to her feet.
“So you're finally awake,” came Bright Mac’s voice, the girl looked over at them.
“I’m sorry, do I know you?” she asked, “Actually, better question, where am I and how did I get here?”
“Does she not remember a thing,” Ultraman thought out loud.
“That might be another side effect of the Changeling goo,” Mary told him, “temporary memory loss.”
“Well what was the last thing you remember?” Jack asked.
“I-I don’t know,” the girl replied.
“Can you at least remember your name?” Nick questioned.
“I-I think my name is… Alice,” she answered.
“Nice to meet you Alice,” Ultraman said, taking his mask off, “I’m Sam.”
“I’m Gwen,” she responded, taking her mask off.
“I’m Chris,” he told her, removing his mask.
“And I’m Nicholas,” he replied, rubbing his cheek still.
Suddenly, the mountain started to shake, causing some rocks from the roof to break free. Twilight put up a shield, to protect everyone.
“What was that?” Aria remarked.
“I don’t know, it must have come from outside,” Rarity replied.
Just then, Sunset with the others suddenly teleported into the room. Panting and worried.
“Guys!” Sunset breathed, “We have a problem!”
“The monster outside has suddenly changed forms,” Rainbow told them.
“And Ultraman Zero is down!” Pinkie cried.
“Z-Zero…?” Alice repeated softly, her expression was one of worry as her memories started to come back to her.
“Zero’s down!” Sam shouted, “we need to go and help him.”
“No!” Alice retorted, surprising everyone.
“What do you mean no?!” Sam shouted, “You don’t even know what he or any of us are capable of.”
“Oh yes I do,” Alice replied, “My memories are coming back. My name is Alice, but I’m also…” she paused as she raised her arm to show a golden bracelet. She then shouted ‘Yullian’ as a light enveloped her, and within seconds, an Ultrasuit covered her body.

“Sweet Celestia!” Sam remarked.
“Dear Luna!” Nick commented.
“She’s the…” Gwen started.
“Princess of the Land of Light,” Chris finished.
“I have the power to revive Ultras from the dead,” Yullian replied, “but if this monster is powerful enough to defeat Zero, I will need you young Ultras to help me.”
“Young?!” Sam yelled, sounding offended before Gwen elbowed him in the chest.
“We will help you in any way we can,” Gwen replied.
“Thank you,” Yullian nodded, “come on Ultras!” She then ran out of the room. The others put their masks back on and followed her.
“We best get out of here as well,” Sunset told Twilight.
“That would be a good idea,” she replied.
The girls then galloped out the room, with AJ helping her parents up and out. As Adagio lit up the rear, and her light faded from the room, in the darkness, multiple teal eyes opened, and multiple fangs snarled.
The Ultras and Ponies managed to make their way out of the cave, and back in the sunlight, on the side of the mountain near Unicornia. The Ultras all floated in the air above Zero’s lifeless body. They all saw Devil Demaaga battling with the three other kaiju, and how Demaaga killed all of them.
For Arstron, Devil Demaaga pierced its blade through Arstron’s chest, then pulled it out, causing the Violent Monster to let out a to topple over and explode upon hitting the ground. Takkong tried firing a stream of scalding water at Demaaga, but the Corrupted Molten Iron monster just fired its Empowered Heat Ray at the Oil monster, easily overpowering the stream of water, and struck Takkong causing it to explode as well. Gromite fired a Dark Light fireball at Demaaga, but the Devil Monster sliced it in half with its blades, before roaring and firing fireballs from its back. The fireballs rained down on Gromite, doing nothing at fire, but then one struck it in its weak spot, causing Gromite to roar in pain before exploding.
“We need to work fast,” Yullian responded, “all of you, give me your light.”
The Ultras nodded, as they touched their chests and sent their light to Yullian’s right hand. Yullian then flew towards Zero and propelled the light of the Ultras and her own into Zero’s Colour timer.
Inside Zero’s head, it was dark and empty, but as the light re-energized him, Zero began to feel warm as the darkness around him slowly disappeared. Zero looked around and saw silhouettes of his team surrounding him, with Yullian in the middle of them.
“Princess Yullian!” Zero responded, “You’re ok!”
“Yes I am,” she replied, “but now, we must defeat Demaaga before it borrows to the mainland and goes on a rampage. Let us give you our power.”
Zero accepted their light, His Colour Timer fully energised, and ready to battle. Zero told up and ran to Devil Demaaga and grabbed its tail before spinning it around.
“It’s time for round 3!” he shouted, “And this time, I’m going all out!”
With the light that was let to him by Yullian and the others, Zero was about to unlock his strongest form. He channelled his energy, and his red and blue colours changed to gold and silver.
“Shining Zero!” he shouted, standing battle ready in his new form.

Devil Demaaga roared in fury as Shining Zero dashed forward into battle. Zero went into a cartwheel then kicked Demaaga in the chest. The Devil Monster tried to slash at him with its blades but Zero deflected it before chopping Demaaga in the stomach. Zero went to punch Demaaga, but the monster blocked it with its blades, only for Zero to uppercut them away, before grabbing Demaaga picking it up and throwing it a distance away.
Zero ran over the Demaaga, with it still on the ground, Zero grabbed Demaaga by the back, before tossing it like a wrestler, sending the monster spinning and flying through the air. Shining Zero pulled his sluggers from his head and combined them together to form one big blade, before running over to Demaaga and slashing it with his blade. Demaaga felt the pain of the blade, as it charged up its Molten Iron Heat Ray and fired it, but Zero simply sliced it in half causing it to explode behind him.
“Let’s finish this!” Zero shouted, as he flew forward, slugger ready, and slashed through Demaaga once ,before coming back around and slashing again.
In doing this, the Devil splinter fell out and shattered on the ground, returning Demaaga back to normal. With Demaaga returned to normal, Zero changed back to his original form and prepared to finish it off.
“Wait Zero!” Cried Yullian as she flowed next to him and grew to giant size, “let’s finish it together.”
“Got it Princess!” Zero nodded as the two jumped into the air.
Zero and Yullian held hands as they spun around, forming a large energy circle. The two then flew down to Demaaga and in the fashion of a Ultra Slash, sliced right through the monster, destroying Demaaga in one go. Zero and Yullian landed on ground, looked at each other, and high fived each other in victory. Back on the mountain the ponies, and child all cheered as Yullian and Zero returned back to Alice and Devon.
“We did it!” cried Sam.
“We found AJ’s parents and rescued the Princess,” Gwen cheered.
“Yes, yes we did,” Yullian said, she was speaking through Alice.
“Can we leave this island now?” Fluttershy asked.
“We can, but how can we,” Rainbow remarked.
“Yeah our boat was washed away by those sea monsters,” Aria stated.
“You mean that one in the trees down there?” Pinkie inquired, pointed down the mountain to their boat just stuck in one of the trees.
“Hmm, wouldn’t you know?” Chris remarked.
Working together, the gang managed to get the boat out of the tree, and back into the sea, where they set sail for home. While everyone was busy managing the boat, we were just chatting. Elena looked back at the island, where she saw a black spot flying away from the island. She guessed that that was a few Changelings flying away with their queen in tow. With anyone knowing, she came a smirk, as her eyes flashed green for a split second.
Once the boat arrived back at the harbour, the ponies headed back to Ponyville, where they knew Pinkie was gonna throw a welcome home party for Bright Mac and Buttercup. AJ knew her family was gonna be overjoyed to see them again. And that was exactly what happened. Granny Smith and Big Mac knew they would return, and had expected it, but for Apple Bloom, she was in tears as she ran up to her parents. Big Mac and Granny Smith joined her in hugging them and welcoming them back home. Pinkie threw together a party for them, and she made sure it would be one to remember. As the Party went into the night, the children stood outside the barn, while Devon had returned to Zero.
“So you’re leaving?” Sam asked.
“Yep,” Zero replied, “my mission was to rescue the princess, and I… I mean, we rescued her. So now my mission is over, and we must return to the Land of Light.”
“Zero, I wish to stay here in Equestria,” Yullian replied, still speaking to Alice, “I have a feeling that I must stay, I sense a great evil on the horizon.”
“That would be really cool if you did stay,” Chris remarked.
“I won’t feel so lonely being the only girl in this team,” Gwen commented.
“It’ll also give you all the chance to get to know Alice as well,” Yullian replied.
“Oh, so this isn’t a human disguise?” Nick questioned.
“No, Alice is her own being,” Yullian replied, “I’m just using her to talk to you all. Don’t worry, she’s completely aware of it. Go one Alice show them you’re listening.” She then gave them a thumbs up. “That’s Alice doing that, not me.”
“Well, anyway,” Zero said, “I’ll let the Land of Light know once I’ve returned.”
“Thank you Zero,” Yullian replied.
“Well, I best be going,” Zero told them, “I’ll never forget our time we spent together, and the team I was part of.”
Zero then stood up, gave them a peace sign, and flew off up into the sky and disappeared beyond the clouds. The kids all waved goodbye, as Yullian released her control over Alice.
“Soon, I guess I’m part of your team I suppose,” she remarked.
“I’m gonna like having you around,” Gwen stated, “we can be Ultra Sisters.”
“Awesome,” Alice retorted.
“Well let’s not just stand around, let go and enjoy the party,” Sam cried.
“YEAH!” Everyone cheered as they ran back into the barn.
Meanwhile, deep inside, the hidden complex in the Everfree forest, the Chrysalis, the Changeling Queen began to stir awake. As her senses came back to her, she looked around and realised that she was in a cell of some sort.
“Wha…? Where am I?” she questioned, looking around in confusion. She then saw the door to the cellar open, as see a figure wearing an Ultrasuit walk in and towards her cell.
“Well, well, well,” Belial said, “look who’s awake.”
“Ah!” screamed Chrysalis, “who…who are you?!”
“Oh that’s right, you’re not her. But don’t worry, you’ll know soon enough, my dear,” Belial chuckled, “Everything is going according to plan.”
“What are you on about?!” Chrysalis shouted.
“Take a look at yourself,” Belial told her.
Chrysalis looked down at herself, and gasped in horror. “No. Why am I her?!”
“Like I said, it’s all going to plan, Chrysalis,” Belial said, “or should I say… Elena.”
Chrysalis gave another gasp of horror, “How… How do you know who I am?” she quivered, “Who are you really?!”
Belial chuckled again as he removed his helmet to show her. Chrysalis’s eyes widened more than they were already, she recognised who this was.
“No. I-it can’t b-be,” she stuttered, as Belial lowered the mask back down.
“You better get comfortable,” he said, “You’ll be here for a very long time. And for as long as my agent can keep up her disguise, you aren’t changing back.”
Belial chuckled again, as he began to leave the cellar, Chrysalis watched him go, and prayed that Sam would come and save him. she didn’t have much hope, since she didn’t know where she was exactly, but she had hope nonetheless.
