The Jedi Prince

The next morning

“Cody, there’s something we need to discuss with you,” Celestia said.

“What is it, Mommy?” Cody asked.

“Captain Valiant has requested your presence, he wants you to meet his niece and nephew,” Blaze replied.

“His niece is one of my star students. She’s also very eager to meet you, same with her brother. My other student also wants to meet you,” Celestia added.

“Okay, Mommy,” Cody replied.

Soon enough, Captain Valiant came in with his family. His nephew was a teenage unicorn colt with white fur, streaked blue mane and tail, blue eyes, blue hooves, and he had a cutie mark of a dark blue shield with a pink star in the middle and three light blue stars on top. He also wore a black shirt and gray pants. The captain’s niece was a seven-year-old purple unicorn filly with a dark blue mane and tail with purple and pink streaks, purple eyes, and a star with five white points surrounded by five white stars for a cutie mark. She also wore a dark and light blue striped shirt and a purple skirt with her cutie mark on it.

Captain Valiant’s brother was a blue unicorn stallion with a deep blue mane and tail and a two crescent moons for a cutie mark. He also wore a black shirt with green cargo pants. His brother’s wife was gray unicorn mare with a purple and white striped mane and tail, arctic blue eyes, and three stars for a cutie mark. She also wore a dark purple jacket over a blue shirt and a white skirt with her cutie mark on it.

“Prince Cody, this is my nephew, Shining Armor, my brother, Night Light, and his wife, Twilight Velvet,” Captain Valiant said.

“And this here is the captain’s niece, Twilight Sparkle. Twilight, this is our son, Cody Ando,” Celestia added.

Cody’s eyes widened at the sight of this pretty filly. He began blushing at her and he kept breathing in and out his nose as not to show it. Then he went behind his mother.

Celestia was deep in her thoughts, she and Blaze figured that their son could use a friend close to his age. Even though he was friends to many of the guards and other staff, including Captain Valiant, Lieutenant Lancer, and Kimono, they felt pony his close to age was a good idea. So Twilight was a perfect match, though she had another idea in her head. They also thought about their son’s future mare, their daughter-in-law. They thought that Twilight looked cute and could look good for Cody, but whoever he chose, they would be happy for him.

Twilight noticed this and said, “The prince is kinda bashful, isn’t he, mom?”

“Maybe he wouldn’t be if you said ‘hello’,” Velvet replied.

“Hello, Prince Cody,” Twilight said.

Cody just stood there blushing.

“I said, ‘Hello’” Twilight repeated.

“Aren’t you going to answer her?” Celestia asked, “Go on, say ‘hello’.”

“H-Hi, Twilight,” Cody said while still blushing.

“Are you okay?” Blaze asked as he noticed Cody blushing.

“I don’t know, daddy,” he said holding his blushing face.

“I know that look on your face, little cuz,” Cadance said in a smooth tone, “Do you like her?”

“It’s unwise keep your feelings to yourself, Cody. Just don’t let them cloud your judgement,” Blaze added.

“Fine. Yes, I like her,” Cody replied.

“Hi, Cadance,” Shining said.

“Hi, Shining!” Cadance replied.

The two of them hugged each other and kissed, then gently broke away.

“Cady, do you like Shining?” Cody asked.

“Yes, we just started dating a few weeks ago,” Cadance replied.

Cody recognized the name ‘Twilight Velvet’ on some of the children’s books he read, and decided to make conversation with her and Night Light.

“Mrs. Sparkle, are you a writer?” Cody asked.

“Yes, I am. Why do you ask?” Velvet said.

“Because I noticed your name on some of the children’s books I have. Did you write them?” said Cody.

“Yes. I’m glad you like them, Cody,” Velvet replied.

“What is your job, Mr. Sparkle?” Cody asked.

“I am an astronomer, somepony who observes and studies the stars, planets, and such. Five years ago, I happened to see something enter the atmosphere. At first, I thought it was a meteor, but it turned out to be a flying machine,” Night Light explained.

“That was the ship my daddy, Uncle Dagger, R5, and myself came here on from a planet called Naboo, where I was born,” Cody replied.

Just then, Cody heard another voice speak up, “You wanted to see me, Princess Celestia and Prince Blaze?”

She was a yellow unicorn filly with a curled and red and yellow bacon streaked mane and tail, moderate cyan eyes, and a cutie mark of a red and yellow shimmering sun. She also wore an red shirt and a teal skirt with her cutie mark on it.

“Yes, Sunset,” Blaze said to the filly.

“Cody, this is my other star student, Sunset Shimmer,” Celestia said.

“Hi, Sunset,” Cody greeted.

“G-Good to m-meet you too, C-Cody,” Sunset replied whilst blushing.

“Now that introductions are finished, I think the young ones should run along.” Celestia said.

“Yes, mommy,” Cody replied, “Come on, girls.”

While his parents were doing royal duties and Twilight’s parents were elsewhere, Cody, Twilight, and Sunset, went over to hang out at his bedroom.

“Okay. So this is my room, and this is my bed,” Cody said. “Wow, it’s huge and… full of stuff,” Twilight said, until she and Sunset immediately noticed all of Cody’s books. “Wow! Are those books yours?” Sunset asked.

“They are,” Cody replied.

“So… you like to read?” Twilight asked.

“Sometimes, but I usually like to play with Cadance,” Cody said.

“Great! We like to read too! A lot!” Twilight said.

“After all, knowledge is usually everything!” Sunset added.

“Wow! You two are really smart, perhaps the smartest fillies I’ve ever met,” Cody said.

“Well, thanks,” Twilight blushed.

“Is it okay if we ask you some questions?” Sunset asked.

“Sure,” Cody said. “Besides, you’re always looking for knowledge, and I’m liking you two as my new friends already.”

Twilight and Sunset blushed again, considering the fact that they didn’t have many friends apart from each other.

“Thanks. I… I like you too, Cody,” Twilight replied.

“So do I,” Sunset added.

“Twilight? Sunset? Do you want to be my friends?” Cody asked.

“Sure,” Twilight and Sunset replied in unison, and then they did their question session while having a bowl of ice cream, and then they played a board game for fun, and read a few books.

All of a sudden, Padme flew in to the lounge and came over to Cody.

“Aaahhh! A snake with wings!” Twilight screamed.

“Is that an aviserpen?” Sunset asked.

“Yes, her name is Padme and she’s my pet,” Cody replied, “You don’t need to be afraid of her, Twilight.”

After reading in his room, the three friends were playing ‘Starfighter Pilot’ in the garden.

“Royal Squadron, we’ve got droid fighters inbound. Pick your targets,” Cody said.

The three of them, along with R5 were making shooting and flying noises as they kept playing their game.

“We got them,” Twilight said.

“Wait, we got new enemies inbound,” Sunset replied.

“They’re TIE fighters, let’s get ‘em. Come on, R5,” Cody said.

The kids and droid made flying and shooting noises as they pretended to fly and shoot down makeshift enemy fighters.

“Yes! We got ‘em all!” Sunset said.

“Good going, girls. You can fly in my squadron anytime,” Cody replied.

“This was enjoyable. We should play ‘Starfighter Pilot’ again sometime,” Twilight remarked.

“Come on, girls. Let’s go meet up with Kimono,” Cody said as they left the garden.
