The boom of thunder followed by the flash of lightning was heard throughout the forest as the rain continued to pour, making all the inhabitants run to their homes or seek shelter from the rain, the only ones that were out was the occasional Timberwolf.

Or pony.

"O-oh my. I knew I-I shouldn't have st-stayed out so late!" a timid voice said as a butter-yellow pegasus with a pink mane and tail walked through the forest, trying her best to stay as dry as possible but failed as she was almost soaked to the bone with her hooves, coat and tail caked with mud. Fluttershy looked around, making sure she is on the right path to her cottage and didn't end up lost.

The reason she was out here was that a few of her animal friends needed some help and being Fluttershy, she gladly helped, she just didn't realize that it would take so long to the point where it's almost nighttime. Didn't help that the storm came in and made the forest even darker and scarier than before, leading her to quickly rush through the forest, which led her to end up in her current situation. "O-oh no, I-I think I made a-a wrong turn." Fluttershy said fearfully to herself as she looked around. "O-or maybe I am o-on the right p-path?" she was unsure of herself now, praying that she would be able to get out of the forest before it got even darker or else she'll have to find someplace to either wait out the storm or spend the night. "I-I hope n-neither of those h-happen." she then let out a yelp when she heard the boom of thunder, making her pick up the pace.

But then, she paused.

Her ears twitched as she looked around, she swore she could have heard something. Something that didn't belong in the Everfree. But where or what was it? There! She looked to her right, straining her ears to listen for that sound again. She heard nothing but the sound of rain against the leaves and the howl of the wind along with the occasional boom of thunder. "M-maybe I was i-imagining-" she paused, there it was again! She quickly heads off in the direction of the sound, worry filling her mind as she ducked under a low-hanging branch, wincing a bit when it had snagged some of her mane, leaving it worse for wear but that was the least of her worries.

As she got closer and closer to the sound, she was starting to figure out what it was, which only made her quicken her pace. "O-oh my goodness! W-what's a baby d-doing here?!" she asked no one as she flew towards the sound, which was the crying of an infant. She flew past low hanging branches, bushes, and vines till she reached a tree that was thankfully blocking most of the rain with its leaves. She saw that the tree had a little hole at the base of it and she can hear the faint sound of sniffling before crying can be heard again. Fluttershy quickly flew over to the hole and peeked inside but due to her blocking most of the light from entering the little hole, she can barely make out a small bundle wrapped up in a blue, at least she thinks it's blue, it could be green, blanket.

The crying had stopped when she had looked into the hole but she can hear the faint whimpers of the baby inside. "T-there there little one. I-I'm not gonna hurt you." Fluttershy said soothingly as she carefully reached inside and grabbed the baby. The little thing squirmed a little as she carefully brought it out of the hole but there were no protests from them. "Don't worry, I'm gonna-" Fluttershy paused in shock when she saw what the baby looked like when it came out of the hole and into the light.

The baby was not a pony, that's for sure. Instead, they were some sort of ape-like creature with the only bit of fur they had was on their head which was a pink lavender color while they were a pearly purple. The baby looked up at her with her dark fuschia-colored eyes that were slightly red and puffy from crying with tears still leaking from her eyes as she let out a whimper. Suddenly, another boom of thunder was heard and the baby had started crying again from the loud noise, snapping Fluttershy out of her shocked state as she began to gently rock the baby in her hooves. "Shh, there there, it's ok, you're ok." Fluttershy said reassuringly and soothingly, which was working as the baby was starting to calm down a bit but still sniffled a bit. "That's it, you're ok. You're ok."

The baby had finally calmed down and looked at Fluttershy again before babbling something, what it was exactly Fluttershy had no idea but she did know one thing, being out during a storm as a baby is definitely not a good idea so after making sure the baby was held securely in her hooves, Fluttershy flew in the direction she had hoped her cottage was. And she was lucky she had gone in that direction as she can see the faint light of something in the distance and as she got closer to it she saw that it was her cottage. "Look, we're almost home little one, now we'll be out of the cold and rain and in someplace warm and cozy. Doesn't that sound nice?" Fluttershy asked the small bundle and they let out a happy babble, making the mare smile as she left the forest and entered her home.

A lot of the animals living or hiding inside the cottage quickly went over to her and began voicing their relief and happiness at their caretaker's return before they noticed the small bundle in her hooves, making them curious as they watched Fluttershy put the bundle on the couch next to the fireplace before removing the damp blanket and wrapping them in a new one. The baby let out a small coo as they snuggled into the new blanket, already starting to feel warm as Fluttershy smiled again as she watched the baby get cozy while letting out small coos, it almost didn't make Fluttershy leave the bundle of adorableness to get them something to eat but she knew that she had to get the baby something, she didn't know how long they were in that hole so the baby might be hungry.

While Fluttershy was going to get the baby some food, her animal friends got close to the baby and looked at them in curiosity as they've never seen anything like them before. Harry the bear leaned down and started to sniff the baby, not noticing the baby was looking at him in fear with small whimpers escaping their lips as Harry sniffed them. Then a small white thing hopped in between Harry and the baby and started to squeak at the large bear, who looked at the bunny and listened as the bunny pointed at the baby who had tears beginning to form in their eyes once again and Harry got the hint that he might be scaring the baby so he backed off.

The bunny, better known as Angel, nodded his head before looking at the baby, who was staring back at him in curiosity. He then hopped over to the baby and pet their head with a smile, as if showing them they'll be alright. The baby in return let out a small babble as Angel began to squeak in reassurance but the baby was having a hard time understanding the bunny and much to the shock of all the animals, the baby's ears suddenly changed!

They were cat-like in nature and were twitching every few seconds and before the animals can get over their shock, Fluttershy came in, holding a small bottle of warm milk in her hoof. "Ok little one, I have something for you to-" Fluttershy then gasped when she saw the baby and their new ears, almost dropping the bottle in shock but managed to hold onto it as she quickly flew over to the infant. "Oh my goodness! Your ears! They're...they're..." Fluttershy stammered out as she looked the baby over and the baby was beginning to whimper again, thinking they had done something wrong and Fluttershy noticed this before she quickly calmed them down. "Oh there there, you didn't do anything wrong. This is just a surprise is all." the baby let out a sniffle before seeing the bottle and their stomach let out a growl. The baby hearing this, gave Fluttershy the most adorable pleading look as she made a grabbing motion for the bottle and the mare didn't need to be told twice as she smiles at the baby before picking them up in her hooves and giving them the bottle, which the baby greedily gulped down in a few seconds. "My goodness, somepony was hungry weren't they?" Fluttershy asked them with a small giggle just as the baby finished the bottle.

Fluttershy then put the bottle on a little stand before she began to burp the baby, which they did then let out a coo of content before they began to try and grab a small strand of the mare's mane, much to said mares amusement. "Aw, you're just so adorable aren't you?" Fluttershy asked them before the baby started to squirm, a look of discomfort on their face and Fluttershy can tell why. "Aw, don't worry, little one, I'll take care of it in no time." the mare then left the living room and into another room where a small changing station was.

Fluttershy used to do a few babysitting jobs in the past due to her kind nature so she was prepared in case somepony needed her to watch their foal. After Fluttershy changed the baby's diaper and found out that the infant was a she, she returned to the living room with a happy baby in her hooves. "There, all better now?" she asked her and the baby let out a small coo in reply followed by a yawn. "Aw, looks like somepony is ready for bed." instead of going to her room with the baby she decided to stay near the fire in case she was still a little cold

Fluttershy laid down on the couch with the baby, causing her to yawn again as she snuggled up to the pegasus. Fluttershy draped her wing over the baby, smiling in content as she watched the baby nibbling on some of her mane as she slowly closed her eyes. "Sleep well." she said as she gave the baby a small kiss on her forehead before laying her head down with her eyes closing, and soon the two were asleep.

The rays of the sun shined through the windows of Fluttershy's cottage and the first one to react to the sun shining on her was the baby. Instead of crying or voicing her discomfort, she simply opened her eyes and looked around and saw she was still in the cottage. The baby then sat up, albeit a bit clumsily, and looked around in curiosity and shock. 'I'm still here? I thought it was all a dream.' the baby thought as she looked around before she looked back at Fluttershy and couldn't help but smile at the pegasus. 'Though I'm not complaining, I was found by one of the best characters in the show!'

A sudden squeaking got the baby's attention, making her look and see Angel standing next to her, a look of curiosity on his face and she realized that he was looking at her cat-like ears, which were still around much to her annoyance. 'Must be wondering what kind of baby I am. Can't say I blame him, it's not every day you see a small baby suddenly sprout jaguar ears.'

Angel then started to squeak a bit as he hopped over closer to her and tapped her ears, which caused them to twitch a little at the contact. She then smiled as she suddenly hugged him, the baby part of her mind taking over. "Bunby!" she said, glad and surprised that she can talk, if somewhat. Angel had squeaked in surprise from the sudden hug before hugging her back.

She then let go of Angel and started babbling a bit before she felt a pair of hooves pick her up, "Aw, are you and Angel getting along?" Fluttershy asked her as she held the baby close to her.

'Yes, we are getting along.' she thought before babbling her reply which just made Fluttershy giggle a bit before she got a thoughtful look on her face.

"Hmm, I wonder what I should call you, I can't keep calling you little one now can I? After all, you won't be so little forever." Fluttershy said as she nuzzled the baby, causing her to giggle as she held onto the mare's face.

'Simple enough, I could tell her my name which is...' her train of thought suddenly stopped as she tried to remember her name but for some reason, she couldn't. 'What? Why can't I remember my name? Maybe being a baby has something to do with it. That's probably why.' she thought to herself, though was a bit unsure about the reason why she couldn't remember her name.

"Hmm, maybe I'll call you Violet? No, too obvious. Catherine? No." Fluttershy said as she continued to muse over names for the baby.

"Keeeeoooo!" the baby said, making Fluttershy blink in surprise that she was able to talk but shook it off and smiled at her.

"What's that?" she asked her.

"Keeeeooo!" the baby repeated.

"Keo? Your name is Keo?" Fluttershy asked and the baby made a face.

"Keeepooooo!" the baby said and this time, Fluttershy understood what she was trying to say.

"Kipo? Is that it?" Fluttershy asked and the baby repeated herself, this time with a giggle. Fluttershy giggled as well as she mulled over the name. "Hmm, Kipo....Kipo, I think that's a great name. Especially since you picked it." Fluttershy said, nuzzling the now named Kipo, much to the baby's delight. A sudden loud knock was heard, making Fluttershy and Kipo look at the door in curiosity. "Now who could that be?" Fluttershy was about to walk over to it but stopped and looked down at Kipo, who looked back at her. The mare frowned before she put Kipo back on the couch and covered her with her blanket. "Now, I need you to be quiet now alright? Fluttershy has to answer the door and will be back ok?"

"Door?" Kipo asked and Fluttershy nodded her head and another knock was heard.

"J-just a minute!" Fluttershy called out before making sure Kipo was hidden behind the blanket. "Remember, stay quiet." she said one last time before walking over to the door and opened it. Seeing one of her friends on the other side who let out a dramatic gasp when she saw Fluttershy.

"Fluttershy! What in the world happened to your coat and mane and tail!?" Rarity asked the pegasus, gesturing her hoof to the dried mud that still covered parts of her along with her disheveled mane and tail, making Fluttershy blush in embarrassment as she forgot to clean herself up last night due to her being tired and distracted with Kipo.

"O-oh, I was out l-last night when the storm c-came in and I had t-to walk home but was too t-tired to clean myself." Fluttershy said, leaving out the fact she found a baby in the Everfree.

"Oh this will not do at all! This calls for an emergency spa day immediately!" Rarity said as she grabs Fluttershy's hoof and tried to drag her out of her cottage but Fluttershy quickly stopped her.

"W-wait! Um, are y-you sure a spa day i-is needed? I can just t-take a bath here." Fluttershy said, not wanting to leave Kipo alone for too long. She trusted her animal friends but she knew they won't know how to take care of.....whatever Kipo is, so she wanted to stay to make sure she would be alright.

"No no no no no! A simple bath would not be enough to help you dear! A trip to the spa is more than enough to help return you to your original beauty." Rarity said and Fluttershy knew she won't be able to get out of it so she sighed and closed her eyes. "Fluttershy? Are you-" Rarity stopped speaking when Fluttershy opened her eyes.

Back with Kipo, she was currently hugging Angel while nibbling on his ear much to his annoyance. Hey, she was a baby, can't blame her for acting like one whenever the baby part of her mind takes over. Though she was also listening in on the conversation between Fluttershy and Rarity thanks to her jaguar ears which enhanced her hearing, at least somewhat. She can make out what they were saying at first but then they started to whisper really quietly, too quiet for her to hear, making her wonder what they were saying before they spoke up again. "S-so Rarity, about t-that spa day?" Fluttershy asked the mare who had a bit of a blank look on her face before snapping out of it.

"Hm? Oh I'm terribly sorry dear, I just remembered that I have a few orders to complete so I can't go on a spa day today." Rarity said, which confused Kipo for a bit but she shrugged it off. She knew from the show that Rarity would be overworking herself sometimes so she didn't find it odd that the unicorn would cancel a spa day.

"O-oh, that's alright R-Rarity." Fluttershy said, and Kipo can hear the hidden joy in the mares voice but thought nothing of it as well.

"Do try to clean yourself up dear, alright?" Rarity asked her friend and Fluttershy nodded her head, "Well, I'll be off now, maybe after I'm done we can have that spa day."

"O-ok Rarity." Fluttershy said as she watched her friend leave before frowning and closing the door. 'I hate doing that sometimes, but I had to do it in order to take care of Kipo.' she thought to herself before she trotted back over to Kipo and went aw when she saw the girl and Angel hugging each other while wrapped up in a blanket. "Aaw, you two look absolutely adorable!" Angel made a few squeaks which translated to,

'I'm not adorable! I'm cool!' which made Fluttershy giggle at his response.

Kipo let out a giggle as well when she heard his response before blinking. Did she just hear what he said? Nah, there's no way she can understand him. The original Kipo couldn't understand what animals were saying so why would she? She must be imagining things. "Well, I suppose I should go get cleaned up." Fluttershy said before picking up Kipo and Angel. "What about you? Do you need a bath as well?" she asked Kipo as she looked her over to see if the baby needed a bath but saw that she didn't. Probably because her blanket had protected her from the harshness of the forest so she was pretty clean. "Guess not. Now Angel, while mommy is in the bath, I need you to keep an eye on Kipo ok?"

Ange nodded his head before gave a little salute, which made Fluttershy smile and put the two back on the couch. "Behave for uncle Angel ok Kipo?" the mare asked the baby who gave a small babble of confirmation. Fluttershy nodded her head, knowing that Kipo would be okay so she went off upstairs to her bathroom to clean up.

This let Kipo look around the cottage in curiosity, seeing many of Fluttershy's animal friends waking up and starting their day, some of them heading over to Kipo to insepct her due to them being curious about her, but she didn't mind, she actually loved the company of animals back before she ended up as a baby. Which led to her being a zoo keeper so she can be around the animals, she didn't know why, she just felt more comfortable around them then other people.

Kipo then felt her ears twitched, making her swat at them with her hands. 'Okay, these things are a bit annoying with the twitching, how do I make them disappear again? Something about herbs in herbs out or something?' she thought to herself as she took a few deep breaths and she felt her ears changing back, making her smile and Angel look at her in shock as she made them appear and disappear over and over again. 'Yes! Too easy! Though I wonder what other parts of me I can change.'

Kipo then spent the next few minutes trying to change her other limbs but was unsuccessful, which made her upset. She then decided to give up and hug the bunny next to her, who was still in shock that the baby next to him had changed her ears back to normal. Then they heard someone laughing a bit, making Kipo look and see something she didn't expect.

A human.
