Still in Stable 190.

"Oh mom," said Lavender, "I've defeated Base's army. But he fled before we got there. He fled to the Frozen North as his Calligraphy says he fled there."

Overmare Harp replied, "Well he was always a coward when things got too rough for him he preferred to leave when something he didn't like or didn't like happened he preferred to leave."

Lavender replied, "We need to do these Mother-Son chats about what three days a month. At the beginning week, middle week, and end of the month on the last week."

Overmare Harp replied, "I'd been leaning towards bi-monthly well twice a month."

Lavender replied, "Ok mom. Well I'd better get going and better find my friends before they get lost."

Overmare Harp and Lavender gave each other a hug but she gave her favorite son a small kiss on the cheek.

Unknown to Lavender that his friends were waiting for him outside of the Overmare's door in a lobby area and they went out back into the Wasteland.

"Come on, let's deal with the Black Guards," said Lavender.

Paladin Sapphire, "Alright we follow you Lavender."

Lavender replied, "Please call me Lavender."

They entered the wasteland but Paladin Sapphire left Pipp behind to be raised by Overmare Harp and Albatross until they got back.

"You can stay behind if you want," said Lavender. "Nopony is going to judge you if you want to stay back to take care of Pipp,"

Paladin Sapphire replied, "No, no, I should but I also need to be out here because we work together like a well-oiled machine, not a broken down what you call it."

Lavender replied, "Alright. Well, we're going after the Black Guard."

Rainy Night caught up with them. "If you're going to go after the Black Guards. Watch out. But please, please, please find my sister Hailing Rain."

Lavender replied, "Don't worry. We'll find her and bring her to you."

Rainy Night replied, "Oh hold your Pipbuck out please."

Lavender did and Rainy Night placed a holotape into it and messed around with it before letting go of Lavender's Pipbuck and giving his upper right leg back.

Rainy Night even told Lavender to check his map, the world map and not the local map.

It was still the same but Rainy Night marked four Black Guard Bases, even the old Colonial fort only for her to quickly snatch Lavender's right leg again. She modified Lavender's Pipbuck with a software thing from the Grand Pegasus Enclave for their terminals to give the user in S.A.T.S to get instant intelligence in the field.

Lavender thought it would be interesting if elite Grand Pegasus Enclave soldiers have it in their power armor to give the user or users advantages and weaknesses who they select. But at the same time, it'll give info that nopony wants to know.

Lavender field-tested it on Rainy Night and it said, "Specialist, Name: Rainy Night, Distance seven feet, State: passive but worried, Weapon: Novasurge pistol, Special Item: GPE Advanced Mechanical and Technological Education, GPE Info: Defeated Former Lieutenant, Current Colonel Autumn Leaf in a boxing ring,"

"I'd thought Colonel Leaf was dead?" asked Lavender.

Rainy Night replied, "There's three Colonel Leaf's but one Colonel Autumn Leaf. The Hellmare killed him near Stable 101. But all three are dead, one near New Appleloosa, the other near Friendship City and Autumn Leaf."

Rainy Night left to go back inside of the Stable to monitor radio frequencies with Lavender and then continue on their way and went to the closest Black Guard camp which is only half a mile away from Stable 190.

By some tall rocks.

Lavender, Rocky, Paladin Sapphire, Critical, and PFC Flared Blizzard thought of a plan.

Rocky was about to say something only not to say it knowing charging in headfirst is a quick way to die.

Flared Blizzard took off his helmet, placed a cigarette into his mouth, and lit it with a black matte steel metal lighter and he closed the lighter.

Everyone looked at him.

"What does it say on the lighter?" asked Rocky.

Flared Blizzard replied, "The front says 'LtCmdr Sapphire Love 1st SFG,' back says 'Semper Fi fighter day or night, but being a lover is permanent. Soldier for honor and duty. If found please return to LtCmdr Sapphire Love 1st SFG.; Some mare with a hot first name's lighter."

Lavender traded Flared Blizzard for it Flared Blizzard got the golden lighter that Lavender snatched from the old police station from Chicoltgo and he gave Lavender the lighter of his six times great-grandma.

"Oh my great-great-great-great-great-grandma she didn't smoke," said Lavender. "But during the war, she and I quote, 'Used lighters as a makeshift flamethrower to burn shit like homes or anything flammable the enemy uses.' Well thank you for returning it to me and when I'd return to the Stable I'll return it to her. I'll put it in one of my ammo pouches and when I go to her crypt I'll open it and place it in there. Oh Stable Overponies in my stable don't get incinerated, they're put into an I mean a tomb in the Stable's Mausoleum not a crypt. But it's her property,"

Everyone kept looking at Lavender because he's the one who comes up with strategic plans that he was taught in the Stable. But his plan had to wait until night when a majority of them were asleep.

It was a long day and they had a ringside few of them testing their new Novasurge weapons on unwilling participants, even their own average rank and file GPE soldiers stallions who aren't a part of the Black Guards.

At sunset.

"That's the fifteenth fucking loud painful screen we've heard," said Flared Blizzard. "And those mares are going to be those Black Guards personal bitches."

Lavender replied, "Let's go save them."

He holstered his weapon and drew his throwing knives and combat knife. He cut some razor wire that was setup to prevent animals and earth ponies from getting into the base.

Lavender headed right to the one shack that was labeled as a 'Command Post' and it was deserted but they left some stuff out. But he didn't enter it saying 'It's too easy' and he had a gut feeling they're going to walk right into an ambush.

Lavender carefully walked away but he noticed a tripwire at the door of the command post that he nearly stepped on.

Sneaky bastards, Lavender thought, But they needed to get up early to trick young Lavender. I'd expect the GPE to fight honorably, not Raiders 2.0.

Lavender used his knife and disarmed it but he used his cybernetic wing as a makeshift shield. He even took the plasma grenade as well after he cut the wire. He checked the rest of the command post for any boobytraps.

Better check this place for anything that'll kill me, Lavender thought, Don't want to sit down on the chair and blow my tail through my mouth. Is that possible? I think the force of the shockwave from a fragmentation mine probably can do it.

Lavender tried to hack it until he connected it to his Pipbuck and soon it allowed it to be accessed without using a password. That's from Rainy Night who installed that GPE software thing that allows whoever to hack into anything without wasting their time.

Rainy Night is a very smart and intelligent mare, Lavender thought, I should give her a bear hug or a very sloppy kiss as a thank you.

Lavender accessed top-secret documents. For some reason, he was disturbed that this garrison commander who's a mare she actually supported and didn't care that the stallions under her command would capture mares to rape them, and sometimes she would watch them do it.

Lavender was still sick that she would give them medals for it and even send letters via the terminal to the Grand Pegasus Enclave council and to high ranking military officers. Lavender wasn't shocked that they also supported it even because the mares they raped to got pregnant weren't GPE citizens or soldiers so they wouldn't have to take care of them.

Lavender also discovered three different things such as; the commanding officer her sister was a mad scientist who made a special bomb for the GPE to drop on the wasteland to prevent the Steel Rangers, Wastelander, Raiders, and even Artificial Alicorns from reproducing by making them permentally sterile. The commander even though her friends were bi-sexual, gays, and lesbians she's happy for seeing them find their romantic partners but she knows she never will because she sees herself as a monster. She tried multiple times even with wastelanders to have a foal. She knew her biological clock was ticking down even though she's twenty-nine.

Lavender also is reading that her parents don't help her because her father was a commander in the Grand Pegasus Enclave Army. Her mother was a field officer in the Grand Pegasus Enclave Marines even though the latter got onto the council. He was torn between just killing her in battle or helping her conceive a foal or foals but he wonders why nearly everypony he comes across used him reproductively. Even though Lavender is a stallion, he isn't like Base and unlike Base, Lavender doesn't care if he has kids or not. Even though that won't stop him from helping others from having foals.

There were some hoofsteps so Lavender turned around with his revolver and .45 Auto Pistol in his magic aurora only to see it's the mare he was reading about, a Commander Chocolate Lotus a mare pegasus with a muscular figure.

He noticed she didn't have a cutie mark but what scared her was that she speaks in an authoritarian way.

"I bet your name is Lavender Astrology," said Commander Chocolate Lotus. "But you prefer to be called Lavender after a deceased relative and it's a part of your long name."

Lavender replied, "I never told you my name or nickname."

Commander Chocolate Lotus replied, "The Grand Pegasus Enclave started a dossier on you the moment you entered Stable 190B. But our scouts have taken a million-dollar photograph of you which I have the photo to clop to every night."

Lavender replied, "I feel disturbed to learn about that. Not the dossier part but the part you masturbate to a photo of me. I wouldn't be surprised if you did with a photo of my old brother."

Chocolate Lotus replied, "You should be glad you're not being strapped down to a table with a magic suppression ring on your horn and your wings tied and not being dissected or experimented on."

Lavender replied, "I'm glad that I'm not breeding another mare to help her. Even though I'll gladly help even though my gut feeling says I've just backed myself into a corner with that."

Chocolate replied, "I'll give you an offer you can't refuse. It may be breaking the GPE rules. But you fuck me without protection and I'll tell you where my sister and her team and guards reside."

Lavender replied, "It's an offer I can refuse. But if my friends and I had to search I don't feel like searching millions of square miles if not billions of square miles. Well, I really don't have a choice do I?"

Commander Chocolate replied, "No not really. Like you said. If you and your friends do it. It'll take months, years if not decades if not generations to search for it. Well get undressed and unequip then hop into bed,"

Lavender did only to get it out of the way even though Commander Chocolate told Lavender her sister and her forces were not adding she gave Lavender a slap on his flank.

Lavender quickly learned that Commander Chocolate was a harsh leader, a career officer, an old guard, a commando, an invader, a trickster, politically connected, and a war hero.

Lavender even asked what war she was in only for her to tell Lavender that there was a small group of pegasi in the Grand Pegasus Enclave held by a big group of council pegasi and demanded they go down and help the wastelanders. She was just a captain then but she led a small strike force and ended the rebellion after seven days.

Her mother was a councilmember until the GPE more or less broke out into a civil war and there are two Grand Pegasus Enclave groups called 'Loayltists' and 'Mutineers' with three groups of 'Mutineers' allied with Lavender and them.

Lavender asked which category she falls under only for her to tell Lavender that she falls under Loyaltist even though she highly disagrees with the controlled population. She even said that she doesn't like how a lot of stallions she likes are gay and won't sleep with her even though she doesn't care that they're gay. Not adding she won't save the council if she had a choice to save her mother or father.

Lavender left without saying anything but he noticed his friends were ready to assault them to get him only for him to return unscathed. He has some intelligence on them. Lavender also wanted to take the closest out with them being right across from it.

Make it worst that they're asleep and not in their power armor making Mr. Sandpony kills easy with them taking a knife from Lavender and slicing their necks in their sleep. Their blood either flowed out or shot out like a volcano.

Outside.

There was a Black Guard on patrol and Lavender turned him around to disarm him and punch him in the nose, shoving the bone into the brain to kill him.

He went up to the second one on patrol. He placed his hooves around him and broke his neck before continuing. He walked up to the final one on patrol and rammed his bayonet into the final one's heart. Doesn't help that the third one wasn't in power armor.

There was also the sniper who was asleep and Lavender had no issue snapping his neck in his sleep.

While Lavender took care of the guards, Rocky, Paladin Sapphire, Critical, and PFC Flared Blizzard freed the captured mares who were going to be raped or were already raped to have foals. While the stallions that were captured for experimentation were placed out of their misery.

"What the fuck were they doing in here?" asked Critical Shot.

Flared Blizzard replied, "Experiments. Trying to create their own supersoldiers. But let's say each experimentation was... worst than the last. Some stallions that were experimented on well let's say they begged to be placed out of their misery. One experiment. His face was disfigured, even his eyes were missing. But his fur and skin melted away revealing the bone. I'd asked what they put into him and a scientist told me 'Gelentized Kerosene' so they could be unscathed and unharmed by fire like napalm."

Rocky and Paladin Sapphire were horrified about what they heard not adding they both think they won't be able to sleep at night.

Outside.

"Black Guard doesn't sound terrifying enough," said Lavender. "I think 'Valkyrie Hunters' are terrifying. I'm calling the Black Guards 'Valkyrie Hunters. now. The latter somewhat sounds more terrifying. What's our next enemy? An oversized teddy bear? Also, when we were in the Stable I should've visited Blue Sapphire but I didn't. Maybe next time,"

It wasn't long until Rocky, Paladin Sapphire, Critical, and Flared Blizzard showed up and they left Commander Chocolate behind alive because Lavender told them to leave her alive.

Rocky Road quickly put two and two together and called Lavender out for sleeping with the enemy saying they all deserve to die.

Lavender replied, "Rocky. The Equestrian Wasteland is four thousand and seven hundred miles big and wide. Imagine how long do you think it's going to be to search for the scientists who are doing this at their hideout? It's not like they have a sign saying where they're at. If they did then I wasted twenty minutes of my life and highly likely got. Not going to finish that sentence."

Paladin Sapphire replied, "There's a high chance your sperm entered her. Is that what you were going to say?"

Lavender replied, "We can make a camp or return to the Stable to get some rest due to more dangers coming out at night,"

Everyone knew Lavender was in denial and wasn't going to say anything else about that. But they all went back to the Stable occupying the empty rooms with Rocky and Flared Blizzard sharing a room with Lavender and Paladin Sapphire sharing a room.

In the morning .

Lavender and Paladin Sapphire got up. It didn't help that Paladin Sapphire burped in Lavender's face while they slept but she didn't apologize and Lavender didn't say anything.

The two learned that Rainy Night lives in the room across from Lavender's and all three of them and all of them got breakfast with a side of apples, one each even though Lavender and Paladin Sapphire shared an apple even though she ate more of the apple than he did.

They left the Stable again and headed to the second closest place which was near a lake and the fastest would be by a boat.

Everyone held onto Lavender and they teleported back to Camp Daylight and got on a PBR-styled boat. But they noticed an unwanted visitor, a pegasus stable dweller and he wanted to tag along.

Everyone said that he would be dead weight. Lavender told him that if he dies he's going to take the Stable Jumpsuit and Pipbuck back to Stable 190 and not his body which some creature will eat.

Half an hour later.

"I don't like this," said Lavender.

Critical replied, "Why what's wrong?"

Lavender replied, "My gut says we're sailing right into a trap."

Critical replied, "What do you want us to do?"

Lavender replied, "If I was LtCmdr Sapphire Love. I would've called in a massive napalm strike and burned a mile all around. But this ain't the Wartime days but post-apocalypse. Rocky man the dual .30s upfront and keep your head down, Paladin Sapphire get on the mounted 7.62 GPMG. Rocky and Flared you take the right side, Critical and Blizzard Wind take the left side."

Lavender kept sailing but held his 7.62mm Battle rifle in his magic and they kept an eye out while sailing as well. The Stable Dweller, Blizzard Wind got hit several times by crossbows and bows and was killed.

Rocky randomly fired the dual machine guns with her magic until Lavender threw an empty magazine at her to get her to stop wasting ammo at enemies who probably ain't there.

Lavender used his special ability and pointed closer to Rocky to shoot. She did and they heard some painful screams.

"Hey Lavender?" asked Paladin Sapphire, "Do you have any stories?"

Lavender replied, "Yeah. But I'll tell you all later."

They kept going and it was quite peaceful even though there was a dead body onboard only for Critical to take off the jumpsuit and used Lavender's Spell Matrix Master Key and remove the Pipbuck. Paladin Sapphire placed it on herself Critical was about to chuck it across the river.

Critical also removed the bows and crossbows and pushed the body into the river only for a group of fishes to come and quickly devour the body.

Remind me not to go into the water, Critical thought.

An hour passed and it wasn't even eight-thirty yet but when they reached the lake Lavender opened up a duffel bag he got some rope and moored the boat using a tree.

On land, the group kept on going with Lavender leading and following his Pipbuck with the map.

"Okay everypony," says Lavender, "My trusty Pipbuck says that their main lab thing or something is near. Just a few more square miles and we'll be there."

They kept on walking until they saw a medium-height hill with wooden barricade fences and a square building called 'GPE PROTOTYPE & RESEARCH BASE HOPE.'

"Who calls their place 'Hope,' Especially an evil military force?" asked Lavender, "Especially who'll kill anypony who didn't do anything to them."

Flared Blizzard replied, "I think it makes them feel better. Wouldn't surprise me if every stallion in there has small dicks,"

They strolled up to it with weapons ready and shocked that they weren't shot at yet and they either guessed the guards didn't see them or it was guard exchange with all-night guards going to bed and day guards getting up.

Lavender lockpicked the door and it didn't take long and he carefully opened it.

"It's quiet," Lavender said hushed, "Too quiet."

Flared Blizzard replied, "I don't like it. I think we're going to walk into a trap. What does your gut say, Lavender?"

Lavender replied, "My gut says we're walking into a trap."

Lavender picked up the radio he still has from Clearwater Creek and said, "Yankee-Five. Requesting Suppression Salvo at my location. Fire one round per gun per minute. Fire at grid E5."

Lavender put his Pipbuck down to stop staring at it and placed the radio away.

The Support Artillery Commander replied, "Ok General we got the target. Firing at your target location... Now."

Lavender and them retreated into the woods and waited.

Three minutes later.

"How long until raining explosions happen?" asked Critical

Lavender replied, "Shou-"

Lavender was cut off because there were explosions in the Grand Pegasus Enclave Research and Prototype Base 'Hope' and around with a ton of screams.

"Should've we tried to rescue the mares and stallions in there?" asked Rocky.

Paladin Sapphire replied, "I'm sure a mare who was raped would rather die. There have been multiple times I tried to kill myself after my father raped me more than once. Shockingly, the doctor in our group works well every three months. Well, he said that it was a surprise that my reproductive organs were still intact and working and not destroyed. The only thing that was destroyed was my self-esteem I told any Steel Ranger to have some kind of wasteland justice but they all laughed at me even mares who have been raped by other Steel Rangers just ignored me.

"Not adding I was close to shooting myself with a 2065 10mm pistol until my eldest sister disarmed me somehow. And I still don't have any respect for myself. Rocky Road got away from Paladin Sapphire Heart because she isn't becoming Ms. Nicemare who'll get pissed off as anypony else. Even though she hates stallions but has a special place in her heart for Lavender.

Rocky started a bet with herself on how long it'll be until she and Lavender have a foal even though Paladin Sapphire Heart made her position quite clear. She doesn't want to have any but taking in colts and fillies doesn't count. Lavender made his position quite clear that he respects and backs up Sapphire Heart's decision one hundred percent.

After five more minutes Lavender radioed the artillery to stop firing because of the high explosive rounds causing more damage than imagined.

Everyone entered it and spread out with Lavender and Paladin Sapphire being an obvious choice, Rocky and Flared Blizzard being a pair, and Critical staying behind even though they wish Critical or Rainy or Albatross was with them.

Lavender still wishes Crimson, Harmony, Harvested Intolerance, and Sunrise Storm were with them and not deceased but they still move on.

Underground in an all-white lab they moved carefully. And they all thought the GPE Black Guards would've been lying and waiting to ambush them only to capture Rocky and Paladin Sapphire for breeding purposes and probably capture Lavender and Flared for experimentations.

They kept an eye out but every door they opened to an operating room was horrifying with ponies once who had loved ones. Unless they were sadistic raiders were mutated and horrified to look at but the mutations killed them. But they moved on.

They were sick to their stomachs because of what they saw but they had to continue.

They continued with no resistance only for them to come across a single red door. Lavender opened carefully and They followed him in and they laid up vertically so if anypony who's evil wanted a fightthenthey could fire.

Soon a bright light came and everyone shielded their eyes only for Rocky, Paladin Sapphire, and Flared Blizzard eye's to twirl and Lavender wasn't affected.

"Kill Lavender," Paladin Sapphire said in a deadpan tone, "Under direct orders of Grand Pegasus Enclave High Council Order 375-GPE WG Warplan Teal and Grand Pegasus Enclave High Council Order War Plan White of a well-organized group of Wastlanders, and Grand Pegasus Enclave War plan Blue of an attack on Grand Pegasus Enclave forces or bases during times of peace."

Lavender hauled his butt out of there with everyone else giving chase to kill him. But they didn't try to use their magic to catch Lavender only to shoot and all of their shots missed.

Outside, Lavender grabbed Critical Shot and carried him to the boat he shot the rope and continued.

"Lavender?" asked Critical Shot, "Where's the rest of the group?"

Lavender replied, "Brainwashed. Whatever 'Grand Pegasus Enclave 375-GPE WG Warplan Teal, and Grand Pegasus Enclave High Council Order War Plan White, and Grand Pegasus Enclave War plan Blue,' are. They're brainwashed or under some kind of hypnosis. Something like from the old Equestrian Central Office for Strategic Action and Intelligence had Project WD-Mega."

Critical replied confused, "Project WD-Mega?"

Lavender replied after sighing, "Project WD-Mega was the successor to the failed Project MW-Zealot. Project MW-Zealot was an illegal pony experimentation program designed and undertaken by the Equestrian Central Office for Strategic Action and Intelligence or COSAI for short. But they used LSD to be used in interrogations to weaken individuals and force confessions through brainwashing and psychological torture. It failed due to in the countryside there was a problem where families refused to reproduce and in the prelude to the war food supply was high and the demand was high but not a lot of farmers to go around so we started food rationing.

"But teenagers of farmers were taken and Project MW-Zealot was used to have stallions and mares have foals and it even made gay stallions and lesbian mares want the opposite sex to have foals with. But a detail the COSAI didn't take into account is that the stallions well if his and the mares they're with have a daughter or daughter well when they came to the age of breeding after puberty well then they would've gotten them pregnant. But they never expected so many foals to be born. Within one year of the project starting a total of thirty-seven million, three hundred thousand, five thousand, nine hundred and nine hundred and ninety-nine foals were born to the old Equestrian farming population of ten million, four hundred thousand and twelve thousand, and seventy-seven farmers. They reached Camp Daylight only to see it wiped off the map with fires in the buildings and ruins. Not adding destroyed Vertibucks of every type that CCA Honey Cake had with soldiers she had garrisoned there.

They disembarked and saw a critically injured Grand Pegasus Enclave soldier crawling over to the medical building only for Lavender and Critical Shot to catch up to him Lavender helped him with some medical stuff and Critical asked who did it.

The GPE soldier told the duo that it was two unicorn mares and an alicorn in some kind of fancy wartime armor. They wiped them out within ninety seconds.

Critical and Lavender looked at each other and didn't know how to wrap their brains around how Rocky Road, Paladin Sapphire Heart, and Flared Blizzard took on eighty GPE soldiers single-handedly.

"Maybe we can..." asked Critical.

Lavender interrupted, "No. We're alone. Not going back to Crimson, Not going back to Stable 190, Not going to talk with Honey Cake or Spring Charm. I would love to get help. But if they did this to three platoons of GPE soldiers what do you think they can do to whole companies? Wipe them off the face of the world and destroy their bases. Just three ponies did this! Let's go."

Lavender and Critical went their way hoping they won't have to fight their friends and Lavender hopes he doesn't have to fight his wife. They both know that Lavender will be the most hesitant.

Lavender and Critical decided to check on the GPE outposts under Honey Cake's command only to see them all destroyed and soldiers torn to pieces and the sole survivors of each outpost told the duo as the dying GPE soldier at Camp Daylight that Rocky Road, Paladin Sapphire Heart, and Flared Blizzard got them and tore them a new one.

Critical still didn't want to believe it but it's true.

Unknown to the duo that the trio is stalking them from range until Rocky and Sapphire were recalled to 'Grand Pegasus Enclave Research and Prototype Base Hope.'

What it was that they were going to be bred even though brainwashed they were resistant with Paladin Sapphire being the most resistant and doing everything in her power to fight them off while brainwashed. But they kept tightening the brainwashing wrap around her brain to make her submit to them and it hurt but she kept on resisting.

It wasn't long until they decided to inject her with some kind of medicine which made her lock up and she was raped. But what they don't know is that Sapphire Heart's mood is different from hormones and missed her period even though she thinks the former is having to deal with Rocky and the stress of fighting and the latter is a mishap.

At Grand Pegasus Enclave Outpost Echo, not farm outpost Echo.

"What are we going to do?" asked Critical urgently.

Lavender replied, "I don't know."

Critical replied. "If the three can do this. What are we going to do?"

Lavender replied, "I don't know."

Critical replied, "How are we going to stop them?"

Lavender said in anger, "I DON'T KNOW! I JUST DON'T FUCKING KNOW! I'm going back to that camp that we raided last night."

At the Black Guard camp near Stable 190.

"I'd see you return," said Commander Chocolate.

Lavender replied, "You have five seconds to tell me how to break the brainwashing that the Black Guard does!"

Commander Chocolate replied, "I don't know."

Lavender started to count down from five and he drew his .357 magnum revolver and pointed it at her wing.

"Will the GPE allow you to have one wing?" asked Lavender.

Commander Chocolate told Lavender that one way she knows how to break it is to do something they're used to.

That gave Lavender an idea.
