Spirit Animal

My breath was heavy, my legs where burning. Darkness and trees where the only things I could see and the sounds around me made my chest panic. All the while I could hear manic laughter and the voices of my family. First it was my mother and then it was a voice I wish would never be used by that monster.

"Chaz, Its me Oliver." I decided to keep running but I could tell it was toying with me. I just wanted to get away from it, there was on way for me to kill it and it knew that. So it was going to take its time killing me and it was going to enjoy ever last minute of it. As I ran I wished and prayed to god and my ancestors to help get out of this alive and get home to the ones I love. Running and panting I was slowing down, but the skinwalker wanted the chase to last longer. With one swift strike a slash on my back sent the adrenaline to keep me going, I didn't fear death but that doesn't mean I wanted to die now and not when I have a little brother to watch over. Running and weaving threw the trees I could see the light of a similar town. Making a B line to the open arear I hoped it was not that close to me. But my hope was a little to high as it attacked knocking me down to the ground. Only a few inches to the edge of the forest but the skinwalker picked me up by the neck and was going to kill me.

"It was fun little human, but I a glad to say that I am eating something good tonight hehe..." This was it I was sure of it, I was going to die here and I am ready I don't fear death. I closed my eyes and waited but it never came the sweet cool embrace of death never came and that confused me. I opened my eyes to see the skinwalker with his teeth gritted and he was angered at me, "Why are you not afraid, It is no fun if your not afraid." I looked him dead in the eyes and for a sencond I could see that he was the one confused and scared?

Suddenly he dropped me and he ran off back into the deep darkness of the forest. I could move ever part of my body just wanted to stop and rest but the state that I was in they couldn't. I just rested there hoping that my grandpa and grandma spirit animals had a way to kill that skinwalker. With my breath caching up and my body no longer moving I embraced sleep. As I slept I could feel someone else here in my dream and for once I allowed who ever it is in.

I open my eyes to see that I was still in the forest but not just that I was deeper inside. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and I decided to run not thing on where I was going. But before anything could happen the forest was gone and I was on a glassy plain laying flat on my back. I sat up too look around and saw nothing but grass all around me. That was until a alicorn appeared before me and she seemed familiar. That was until I realized that it was princess Luna and that this was a dream. I stood as she landed in front of me and looked at me with concern. This confused me as she seem someone who doesn't care much for something that isn't her kind witch is understandable I mean what would you thing if a random creature showed up in your world. She then asked with her medieval speak almost gone but some of it is still there.

"Chaz? Is thow alright?" I took a deep breath wondering on why she cared, we only met once and she asked that? But never the less I answered with the most sarcasm.

"Yeah, Never been fucking better. What the fuck do you think princess." The look on her face was not happy with that response. But she just simply rolled her eyes and began talking again.

"I will send word on your location as it has been some time on your departure. Where are exactly are you?" I stood up the tall grass hiding my face but now she can finally see the blood running out of my mouth and the plaint expression was gone. What replaced it was one of shock and horror. But all I did was smile and say.

" The everfree forest and try to hury I think that thing is still out there." The princess wasted no time and with a grow of her horn she was gone leaving me with a familiar friend of mine. "So what have you got to say now huh? You going to say that my brothers are going to take my stuff before they came looking for me?" As I said this I turn around to see the shadow man and all his shadow like wonder.

"Oh, you know me too well Chazy be-" Before he could even finish that name I through the tomahawk at him. Only for it to pass right threw his shadow body.

"Do not call me that or I will find away to hurt you." I said giving him a death glare.

"Oh I see that my handy work is finally taking effect. So that kind heart will break and my job will be done." I then realized what he was talking about. And it seems he is not work, after all the princess was just trying to help and I say that to her.

"You stay out of my head." As soon as I finished that I could feel myself being awoken. before I awoke I saw the shadow man give a wicked grin. Suddenly all I could see was a blinding light in my face and all I could feel was some rapped all around my chest.

"Rainbow dash stop shining the light in his face." I could hear the voice of Twilight say to the right of me.

"Oh sorry." the light was gone and I could see the the three ponies and the dragon. I could help but smile as fluttershy was the one on my chest and hugging me and also crying. Spike as tall as he his was looking down and around me until I think his eyes landed on the small pool of blood I was making. He then turned to look at the dark forest behind me and there was fear in his eyes. That was when rainbow dash gripped my left hand and twilight the right both at the same time pulled me. I gritted my teeth in the pain but I had better thing to worry about other than my own health. Fluttershy how ever had my health on her mind and that was clear to her and the other.

"Chaz be careful you can't be moving to much." She had my arm over her shoulder and we where heading to ponyville. Rainbow dash was ahead but I know she couldn't last long on wanting to know how this happened. And not even a few steps away from the edge of the forest she asked.

"So Chaz what happened in there. Was it a pack of timber wolf or a manticore either way a fight with you means you did a lot worst to them then you." I look at her and not saying anything I simple continued to walk to hospital. This left her confused. " I bet they went running scared to face the Beast of the Everfree." I was a bit hurt that I was still remembered by that name but it is what it is. But twilight notice my expression and looked at rainbow dash with what I am assuming would make anyone shut up as she did for a moment. "What? I was just trying to light up the mood." Rainbow dash said but I simply rolled my eyes and looked to spike.

"Hey spike your mother is celestia right?" It took him by surprise and he seemed like he didn't want to answer. "Yes or no spike. I am not in the mood for any shit." After that he just looked like I slapped him and after that he finally just nodded his head yes. I then realized that twilight was giving me a glare and like I said wasn't going to take any bullshit. "Twilight I am bleeding and have gotten barely any sleep, I. am. not. in. the. mood."

We finally made it back in town and I had asked spike to send her a letter. I need to talk to her as there is something that cannot wait but I know what a royalty has to do. Spike had headed home and the three of my friends walked me to the hospital.

"Chaz, what happened in there to do this?" I hear twilight say and I could tell fluttershy and rainbow dash had the same question. Fluttershy was behind me and trying her best to stop the bleeding and she did some at that. I was hoping no one would ask but it is the biggest elephant in the room. I took a deep breath hoping I can explain what happened without talking about it.

"A monster that I can't say the name of." They looked at me in confusion and I could feel fluttershy shake in fear. "It is a monster from my home something I wish was never here. It will tear anything apart and has dark magic." That is when Twilight gripped my face and made me look at her in the eyes.

"This thing had DARK MAGIC AND YOU LIVED!!" She yelled not even two inches away form my face. my ears where ringing and I was not have it. With my teeth bared I looked twilight right in the eyes.

"Yes and the fact you think I should died is noted." The look on her face changed and she backed up looking a bit hurt. I could care less but the others seem to care a lot. But I ignored what they said as I was bleeding out and my vison is getting burly. Before I could say anything I blacked out and embraced the sweet cold of sleep.

"Oh.... You fall asleep little bear~" The familiar voice of the skinwalker ringed in my head and I could swear he was standing in front of me. My eyes short open and I was back in the open field and the night sky was black the moon was nowhere in site. But what I could see shocked me to the very core, what I saw was the skinwalked and Nightmare moon standing side by side. I stared them down ready for anything they have to throw at me. "No need to be hostel deer friend. After all you don't fear anything."

"And what the fuck do you and your lady want?" I say hate as I wasn't in the mood. Nightmare moon glared at me and was about to say something but the skinwalker had spoken first.

"I just wanted to see on my new friend. And I now know those you care about." I eyes widen but I had to call his bluff and said something I wish I didn't.

"Bullshit I don't care about anyone here." I look to see the wicked grin of both nightmare moon and the skinwalker. And that was all I needed to know that they we're not fucking around. Right then and there both suddenly disappeared and I could hear lunas voice shout.

"BEGONE FOUAL NIGHTMARES!!!" I hear a booming voice suddenly and as soon as it yelled the two right in front of me disappear. "Chaz, is thow okay? I couldn't reach in thie dream?" I looked around me for a minute as Luna was nowhere to be found.

"Yeah I am fine." I said as I knew she could see or hear me. "Why cant I see you and what where those nightmares?" It was a few seconds of silence but nothing. Until I heard her voice once again.

"I was hoping you would know about thows nightmares." I was a little surprised as she was the one with the dream magic. "Although I am curious no what it was as I cannot see thie." Now that really confused me and I decided to tell her what I saw. But maybe only the skinwalker as I dont known how to explain the nighmaremoon part.

"It visited me in my dreams. The very thing that wanted me dead came to my dream and taunted me." Nothing but silence after what I said. But I could feel myself coming back to concussions.
