Chapters "You never know whose friend or foe."
After an awkward silence with her handing me the keys, I looked at my girlfriend, the fear in her eyes. I will admit that fear did not do me any favors but I had to keep going forward for her. I started the car and started to head to where Chrysalis said the Address was. Which was odd to me, this Capper guy must have the police paid off or he’s just that good with his goods. Well I was about to find out. My mind drifted to what Cozy said the other night, that this guy was supposedly funny. That game me some comfort but given her sense of “humor” maybe I shouldn’t be so relaxed.
Driving down this part of town wasn't as eerie as the time I was tricked to the other docks but maybe that has to do with the fact the sun is still somewhat up in the twilight hours. Thoughts filled my head when I drove, thoughts about school, and Gold. It was kind of odd that she was confronting me about what happened today, when this was weeks ago. If Sunset outed her as being a cheating rotten bitch of a woman, why NOW to choose to repair her rep? Something more was going on with her than met the eye. I should probably just keep my distance like I planned in the first place.
Another thought hit me, something I knew ahead of time but it slowly started to dawn on me. There is a bunch stolen jewels in a bag in the back of my trunk right now. There is enough money there to probably BUY Canterlot High, yet I'm just casually giving it over to some fence who'll probably just pay a fraction of what it's worth. I mean...granted I don't know how much this crate is worth, but that's still a lot. Also how hot are these? Wouldn't the cops be trying to find them? These thoughts filled and flooded my mind as I paused as the worst sound I could possibly hear echoed. I paused as I realized slowly...that I had ran the red light a few blocks back. I pulled off to the side as did the officer in question. Fear ran through my mind in that moment, if they checked the trunk
I heard the tapping against the window as I slowly rolled it down. I paused a bit with a blink, what a beauty! This officer was an athletic build, but the slender kind, it looked like she was very acrobatic, her long brown hair complimented her purple skin, as her body filled out the uniform, leaving very little to the imagination. I had to shout in my head to knock it off with my gawking! I'm a taken man! I heard her clear her throat and that brought me back to reality real quick.
"License and registration please?" was the officer's response. I paused a bit at that, I knew the drill it wasn't like I haven't been pulled over for a small mistake before. The problem is, I'm getting pulled over...in my girlfriend's car while mine is currently being reduced to slag. With a more commanding voice she said "License and Registration please?"
I took a deep breath "Sure, I do apologize but my name won't be on the car...this is my girlfriend's" I slowly gave my license to the officer and looked for the registration, which took me a little bit and I could tell the officer was getting impatient. She looked at me for a bit after looking at the registration. "Is there a problem officer?"
"No, let me run some numbers" she walked back to her car and I facepalmed. How embarrassing for the date of a mob boss, to be pulled over like this. Not only that, I'm probably running late! However my train of thought was cut off by the officer in question coming back over faster than I expected. I looked at her as she said "Okay, all prior infractions were paid off, you haven't had an infraction in a few years. I'm going to let you off with a warning."
I visibly sighed with relief as she gave me the documents back. I said "I'm sorry about this, I'm running an errand for my girl and I have other stuff on my mind."
"It's fine, just be careful and stay out of trouble." She stated to me calmly. I paused and she handed me a card with a phone number on it. As she coyly said "Be seeing you." with a strong flirty tone. I took a look at the card closer blushing a bit as it said "I haven't been looked at like that by younger guys in a while. If you ever want to have coffee or hang out let me know - Kay Rupt." I gulped as I looked at the next space "P.S. Why don't we keep this from Ms. Chrysalis? Eh, Ace?"
I put the card in my wallet as I headed to where I needed to go. I paused a bit. I just met a dirty cop...one who was flirting hardcore with me...which makes her the third criminal I have attracted by my mere existence, well Cozy could just be playing but still. Does my colon just have a criminal musk or something?
I put it behind me as I started to arrive slowly at the building, that was mentioned. I paused as I saw that it had other cars parked as well as I pulled over and grabbed the bag, heading to the side of the building looking for a door next to a fire escape. Slowly as I made it over, I gave a little knock against the door as out came a guy in a red trench coat, with blue hair in a classic swirl, wearing a stripped shirt, blue jeans, and black and gold boots. The guy looked at me up and down like he was sizing me up then said "You must be Steel. Come in."
I slowly walked in as I figured out this must be Capper as he snagged the jewels away from me and examined them. He whistled "Well, your boss don't skimp, does she?" He looked at me and then shook my hand "Sorry for before my friend, how you doing? I'm Capper, the best fence in this town. I get things that you could never believe." He looked at them and said "So you're her boyfriend?"
I blinked a bit as I said slowly "Y...yeah...how did you..." he cut off my asking by pointing at his phone. Well no shit she would call. why wouldn't she call.
"Okay then," he said walking over to a crate which he just move the lid off of as he slowly gave me some two suit cases. They felt heavier than they should be as I asked what was in them, he didn't blink or bat an eye as he said "Pot"
"Pot?!" I said confused and a little angry but I slowly took a deep breath "Sorry...I should have known."
Capper laughed it off and said "It's fine, you were a little slow getting her. Ms. Chrysalis's place isn't THAT far, what happened?"
I thought about it coming up with a lie for a moment as I sighed and told the truth "I ran a red light and got pulled over by this woman, who let me go when she found out I was doing something for Chrysalis." I said telling the truth, sort of, leaving out the part where she was flirting with me. Hell hath no fury after all.
He started to laugh like crazy as he patted my shoulder "That must have been Kay, you lucky punk. Kay's been working for Chrysalis on the side since she started." He said "Betcha she was "friendly" too, right?"
"A little bit." I said relaxing around this guy, feeling the positive energy from him. I started to see what Cozy was talking about as she said "She gave me her number and everything." I sighed "I'm dating Chrysalis, Cozy said she would let me play with her if she got bored, and now this Kay flirted with me? Do I just have a colon that attracts criminal women?"
Capper laughed with me then patted my back. "Hey at least you ran into, Kay. It could have been way worse." I was very silent at that "One thing you're going to have to learn fast being in the Life is that you can never tell who is friend or foe." He looked at me and said "By the way, Ace...right?" I nodded as he said "You got any protection, and I don't mean the kind for you and Ms. Chrysalis's private lives"
I was beet red at that, actually we only had sex once and it was raw. However, I'm sure as hell not going to tell Capper that. I said "Uhhh..." not really knowing how to respond. "Why you askin?"
He sighed and said "Oy, vey." as Capper went to me and said "You got a good eye or a good fist?" I paused at that as I asked what he meant. "Are you better at fighting or shooting?" I paused as I thought about it. I never really held a gun before in my life but I have beat off potential bullies in the past. Hearing me say that Capper went to the back again. "Look kid, you're doing you're girl a favor, I respect it, but you're in the life now and coming here without something to protect yourself was mighty stupid of you. He handed me a what looked like a tiny hilt as paused activating a switchblade. I couldn't believe what I was holding. This was weapon....to kill...as Capper told me how to sheathe it I went to say something as Capper put his hand up.
"On the house, as is this," and that caused me to blink profusely as he explained what I could plainly see. "This is a 1911 Pistol often used by law enforcement, I suggest you get down to a shooting range at some point and practice" Capper explained "You need to protect yourself. As I said before, you never whose friend or foe."
I paused a bit looking at these things I would never EVER even DREAMED about buying before. I took a deep breath and took them and the cases saying my thanks to Capper as I took my leave, Capper saying "Take Care, Steel. Give Ms. Chrysalis my best."
I nodded and said I would as I slowly drove back to Chrysalis's place. The ride home wasn't anything to right home about my eyes focusing what was on the passenger side...the switchblade and the pistol. I can't believe I had those things. I slowly drove up the parking lot as Chrysalis went to the backseat and kissed my lips saying "Thank you so much! I really appreciate this."
"No problem" joy filling my heart the kiss seemingly melting the troubles of the day away.
"I can finally reward the Diamond Dog gang for their hard work." Chrysalis said beaming. She looked at the passenger seat as she said "Capper already told me what he gave you. Given what happened over the weekend..." She said quietly "Maybe figuring out how to defend yourself may not be a bad idea. I'll teach you how to do it after school tomorrow." Chrysalis insisted. I went to say something about how uncomfortable I was with having these at all. However...Capper's words echoed in my head, you can never tell whose friend or foe in what I have chosen to get involved in. I nodded slowly at that as she took the weapons out of the seat as she saw how late it was getting and decided I should spend the night instead. As I got into bed with my twisted Queen, my cares seem to melt away as slowly I faded to sleep.

If you're wondering why I post so infrequently, it's because I have to really visualize the idea before I post it. I don't want to go off impulse, I want to think these things out. Also...life happens.
"This is opportunity knocking"
I fucking hate my luck. "No mom, I'll be fine moving out on my own." "I have a great job, and I'll be graduating soon from CHS, you worry to much." "I know that my girlfriend and I have been on the rocks for a bit but don't worry about it" Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! I can't believe how much I set myself up to fail! I might as well have written on a neon lit sign that my life was going down the crapper. GROAN!!! Stupid fucking budget cuts! I can't believe after all the hard work I put in, I get fired because "it's not profitable". What a load of crap that was. I know what the actual reason is, that pompous fatheaded oaf! I need to go and calm down, maybe I just need some time alone.
I can see Sunset and the rest of the Rainbooms out of the corner of their eye, they're all so beautiful, so kind, so nice, and everything you could ever want in a girlfriend. Unlike my girlfriend who was just with me for my money! Urg! And of course they are all taken, either by some of the other boys or each other. I gave Sunset a little wave and headed on my way, there's got to be a private spot to relax and chill my head. I need to figure out just what I am going to do right now. I need to figure out how I am going to keep my apartment, and how I am going to just survive right now. That's the most important part right now. Maybe I should just give my mom a call. It's not like either of us saw it coming and it's better being with her and not dad then actual dad, the drunk ass. Urg, stupid frustration! I saw it finally as I approached, my safe haven, thank every deity ever, a classroom that had it's door unlocked. All I had to do was sneak inside and cool my head while figuring it out. Slowly I opened the door and walked in, and kind of admired the spooky atmosphere of the room.
It was silent, the shadows of the twilight, not the Crystal Prep girl, fading in enjoying the light. It was nice and quiet. Okay, so what am I going to do? Well first I need to see if I figure out how to pay my rent now. I could just go job hunting. There's always Doughnut Joe's. The guy isn't an asshole, and I go there often enough. The problem is, I don't know if he'll be can match my wage at my old job and that's going to be a problem. Plus I don't know the first thing about that line of work, I know Doughnut can probably teach me, but I don't know. Plus there's a good chance I'll see my bitch of an ex there too, and already I can see Doughnut pulling me aside after an outburst to tell me that "I'm a nice guy but we can't have employees yelling at customers" and firing me.
I could see if the Apple Family needs a new worker. It's a bit out there but it wouldn't be that much different from what I was doing before, and the Apples haven't done wrong by anyone, even me, before. The problem is still a financial issue though, I hear the farm barely breaks even and while I don't doubt they'll be willing to match my wages, I don't want to bankrupt them because they were helping me. Fucking hell, I hate this! I hate this so much!
Suddenly, I heard a voice, a familiar won, slow....seductive...and just really fucking sexy. The voice of my old teacher, Ms. Chrysalis. She walked over to me and asked "Ace?" which caused me to looked away embarrassed as she said "What are you doing in my classroom at this time of the day? You really should be heading home." I looked back at Ms. Chrysalis again and sighed. Talk about a woman out of my league, she's just a bombshell, beautiful grey skin, long gorgeous somehow natural green hair, a striking emerald in her eyes, the striking black suit like outfit that just fit her body so well, and speaking of, that drop dead gorgeous body that any man could die happy of they could even get the smallest glimpse of her without the outfit on: The perfect ass, the amazing thighs, and her amazing rocking breasts. My heart skipped a beat hearing her again, that low mature voice of hers. It just radiated presence and sex appeal. She cleared her throat as she asked again "Ace, what are you doing in my classroom at this time of night?"
"I..." I let out a very heavy sigh as I just said "I'm just trying to figure things out, I saw the door was open and I needed to be alone. I'll get out of your hair."
Ms. Chrysalis moved her hand a bit to silently command me to stay sitting as she said "Ace, you were one of my best students, you can tell me what's wrong. I may not be your teacher anymore, but I'm still here to help."
"It's...uh..." I wanted to lie so badly, but I just got lost in her eyes and living out a wet dream where she decided to comfort me by letting me suck and kiss on those breasts of hers as then having to shut it out when she was genuinely just trying to offer to help me out this was not the time to be a horny asshole. I let out a sigh "I lost my job at the construction company," I saw the silent movement on her body as I went on. "Not only that, Gold Shine dumped me when she found out. Turns out Gold Shine was a Gold Digger, she was only into me because I have a car, my own apartment, and decent money." I heard her pulling up her teacher chair to the desk I was occupying which made me feel better, like she said, she was here to help me, and she wasn't bullshitting me about it either. "I just came here to figure out what the hell I was going to do, I made really good money there and Gold...I gave that woman everything and she just stomped on it." I held my hand in my head as I let out a pathetic "I have no idea what to do, I really don't"
"I'm so sorry, Ace." Chrysalis stated as she put her hand on mine. "I can't believe that Gold would do that to you, you two looked so happy...I was a little jealous to be honest" which caused me to lock up. "I never had a boyfriend like that before, most of the guys I date end up dumping me or leaving because they're scared of me."
"Who the fu..." I corrected myself remembering that I was next to a teacher "Who in their right mind would be scared of you?! You're amazing!"
"Thank you," was my old teacher's response as she put her hand under her boobs pushing up her cleavage a bit making me blush, so I had to look at her face to keep from being distracted by the good will. "I wish I could help you out, but there's so much I can do."
"I'll figure something out" I reassured her "My love life I can work out later, right now I need to work out how the hell I am going to keep a roof over my head." I sighed and put my hand in my head "I just wish I could figure out something, the options i have in my head have to many cons."
Ms. Chrysalis got suddenly serious, and the tone shift made me look back up in sudden surprise "Ace, I might able to help you." I looked at her confused as all hell "I got an offer for you. I want you to pay close attention and listen to everything I say. I can pay you double of what you made on your old job," my jaw hit the floor as Chrysalis explained "I run a business that could use an extra pair of hands, I didn't offer it earlier because I was running it in my head on whether or not I should get you involved." I recoiled a bit, that sounded very shady. Get involved? Nah, it can't be, this is Ms. Chrysalis. She teaches human growth and development, sexual education, and is very kind and professional about it too. I actually felt like I was learning.
I had to ask though "What kind of business?"
"It's a delivery service I started up years ago when I was in a similar position you were in" Chrysalis explained as she said "My boyfriend and I broke up and he left me with nothing," she gritted her teeth and closed her fist as I knew that pain. "So I decided to do something about it. I'd feel awful not helping you out since you're in the same position as me. " She handed me a card "This is opportunity knocking, I'd take it. Meet me at my place tomorrow night, do not be late"
I looked at her business card and smiled the sweet relief as I nodded as she said "Now I do have this job to do too, please head on out." I got up and thought about the wording and some of the shady stuff she was saying however, delivery services are everywhere now a days. Though I wonder why the hell I never heard of her service before? However, more importantly, she said she can pay me double! DOUBLE! If she's telling the truth...I'm saved!
"Remember, this is your Foot in the Door"
School practically flew by as I started to make my way down to head out to my car. I can't believe my luck is already turning around. Not only do I get to be working for one of the hottest, if not the, hottest women I know, I'm also being paid double then my last job! Thank everything for Ms. Chrysalis. If it wasn't for her I'd be dead! On my way though I was stopped by, of all people, the former bad girl alien yellow skinned bacon haired wonder known as Sunset Shimmer. "Oh, hey Sunset, I'm sorry I can't talk right now. I need to hurry up and get to work."
"You found a new job already?" said the bewildered resident as Sunset looked at me in confusion "Doing what?" I locked up a bit as Sunset sighed "Ace, I heard about what happened with Gold. I can't believe she would do that to you. I caught her yesterday with another guy going at it, and I was worried she was cheating on you. It was even worse than I thought."
I cringed hearing that then sighed saying "Thanks for standing up for me, but I'm not lying. Ms. Chrysalis is helping me out. She's got some delivery service she does on the side. To be honest, I couldn't be more grateful to her." which caused Sunset to look at me a little weirdly "I know I couldn't believe it either, but this is my first day I really need to hurry." I put my hand on her shoulder and said "You're a good friend, Sunset, I really appreciate what you did even if I didn't see it. Go on back to Twilight, our version, man that's still weird."
"Eh, I've gotten used to it" responded Sunset who gave a little smile. "I won't keep you, but if you ever need to talk...I'm here."
Giving a friendly wave, I said "Thank you," before I took off. It was nice to know that she's still one of the nicest people...ponies..whatever she is that I know. I heard her whipping out a cellphone, probably to call Twilight to make date plans. I paid no mind to it, I need to get to the address listed on Ms. Chrysalis's card.
Driving there I couldn't help but notice how the houses looked as I went further in, they started to tower over me as I looked at my little that still had a few dents in it from some jerk jocks that I had a fist fight with back in Sophmore year. Elegance, wealth, power, all of that screamed at me as I slowly got closer and closer to the address listed, parking next to the sidewalk as instructed. I kept walking forward as I looked up at the place and my eyes were obliterated.
How successful is this business?! This place is massive, and it looks like it cost a fortune. It's made of some pretty expensive looking materials, marble maybe? Does marble even come in a brick? The pillars to the door were like a pathway to power. Why the hell is this woman still teaching if she's making this much money?! I thought back to the shady discussion of me even saying yes to this job, but still shook it off yet again. Ms. Chrysalis is a kind woman, she could never...
I walked to the front door and slowly knocked on it, the door opened as I saw a tall blue skinned man looking down at me dressed up in an all black tuxedo wearing a cloth on his arm with a serving table in his hand. "You must be young Mr. Ace Steel, correct?" his accent thick and rumbled in my ear a bit as he guided me inside.
I knew what he was, he was clearly a butler...but why was he so scary? I looked at him again, he didn't looked jacked but this guy, just made me feel uncomfortable. "Have a seat on the couch, Madame Chrysalis will be with your shortly to speak to you about your job." I nodded and did what I was told as that feeling I had yesterday reared it's ugly head once again. Did I just make a massive mistake?! Were my fears right? As soon as I thought that though, my jaw dropped as I heard heels clicking against the ground. My jaw practically hit the floor as I saw her, if it was possible, looking even more sexy then ever.
She was wearing a power jacket that showed her midriff, with a vest that clearly slowed off her impressive cleavage, not only that but either she wasn't wearing a bra or the one she was wearing was to small because I swear I could see her tits bounce as she walked, her normal pants was replaced with a shorter version that hugged on her ass, plus long black leggings the lead to her boots which were powerful heels. I was going insane just looking at her, and she hadn't even said a word to me. The minute she did I scooted my chair up to hide how hard I was getting.
Chrysalis let out a giggle noticing my reaction as she said "I'm glad you like the outfit." which caused me to blush "However, don't forget why you are here."
"Ri...Right" even though I said that it was still very hard to do! "What do you need me to do to," I corrected myself "FOR you."
I saw the roll in her eyes but she maintained some professionalism as she said "I'm going to start you off with something easy, and describe how your job works. I'm a bit old school and can be a demanding boss at times. I hope you're ready for that" reality came back finally as I nodded "My company works on a cash based system, meaning that you'll be paid in cash instead of direct deposit. Is that a problem?"
"No, mam." correcting myself and regaining my composure now that I was, kind of, getting used to her new look. "I can just deposit it later on."
"Good, good," Chrysalis stated "Like I said, I'm starting you off with something easy since it's your first day. I have a package in my garage I need you to deliver to another employee of mine at the docks by the name of Braces. He's a big green skinned guy, very muscular, and likes to wear overalls. You'll recognize him by his hat though, old school fat-top."
"And?" I asked confused
Chrysalis stated "That's it, that's all you need to do today. I told Braces you were coming and he'll hand over your cash." she then stated "After that, come back to me. Braces will call me and tell me how you did and we'll see what else we can have you doing."
"Okay..." I said now getting confused but I shrugged at whatever thought I was having. Weird as it was, it's also a local business so probably would do some things differently. Though that shady feeling was getting back. "Is there anything else I should know?"
"Nothing of concern," Chrysalis said to me, but it was almost like she was reassuring herself too which got me a little nervous "Just drive there, drop the package off, then drive back...that's it. Remember, this is your foot in the door so focus on getting the package to Braces and do not open it"
I nodded and stood up as Chrysalis walked with me to her garage and opened it up having me look at the package. I paled a little, the thing was massive! Much be like steel girders or something like that. I took a deep breath and lifted it with my knees putting it in the back. Chrysalis whistles "You're pretty strong" which was nice of her to say, but my knees were saying something completely different.
I waved good-bye to Chrysalis and started my car driving my way down to the docks. Sure enough, just like she said, there was this big muscular looking green skinned guy in overalls looking at my car approaching. I got out and went to the back seat to pick up the package as I winced again with how heavy it was. I walked it all the way over to him as he looked at me quietly "Thanks, Ace right?"
I let out a nod as I blinked as he effortlessly lifted up the package without even so much as a second thought. "Nice to meet yas."
"You too, Braces" I said panting a bit still. "What is in that?", I asked cracking my back trying to get feeling in my spine. Braces looked at me suddenly and I got very quiet.
He walked over and handed me an envelope. "Nothing for you to worry about, head back to the boss."
I nodded and did what I was told driving to her place silently, that bad feeling was in the pit of my stomach once again. However, I brushed it off again. There was no reason to worry, as strange as it all is. Things will be just fine. As I parked I saw Ms. Chrysalis outside, still in her sexy outfit, looking at me as she approached the car, she said "Braces just called, nice job." she looked at the envelope and said "You know what, it's your first day...I'll be nice. The cash in that envelope is yours. I'll see you tomorrow night, okay?"
As I gave out a little nod I paused and looked at the money inside and double takes, it was all hundreds!? This isn't just double of what I made but probably ten times that much?! What the fuck was in that box?! I shook my head as my shady feeling started to creep up on me. It's nothing...NOTHING. I saw Ms. Chrysalis still staring at my car, as I gave a little wave and drove away. What did I just get myself into?
Well maybe my bad feeling from last week was wrong, because all throughout the week I've been working for Ms. Chrysalis, who had to call my bank to let them know that I wasn't trolling them when I was making my deposit, and so far it's been pretty good. Sure my pay dropped, but it's just been some odd jobs around town nothing shady about it. I usually work with Braces and the guy is one of a kind. He's funny and is actually surprisingly wise given how strong he is. Dude isn't a meathead, and I've been liking working with him. Plus the fact he also thinks Ms. Chrysalis is hotter than lava is a plus.
What I've been doing is just delivery, putting stuff in the back of trucks, helping unload the trucks, just a lot of manual labor which is what I was pretty much doing before, just on a smaller scale. I feel really bad about all the suspecting I did against Ms. Chrysalis, so bad I actually apologized for it. Once again, she proved to me that she's the best teacher in CHS because she just forgave me, and admitted it looked a little suspect because of how she has to operate things.
School was getting out once again, as I started to get ready to head over to the Docks. It's just a simple job today, nothing special, I'm just going down there to unload some boxes with Braces and few of the other guys. I waved to Sunset as I left, as she looked at me with concern like she has been for the past few weeks. I keep telling her it's fine, it looked suspect at first but it's just a delivery service that required an extra hand, nothing more, nothing less. I got to my car then paused getting a text on my phone from Braces "Change of location tonight, kid. Ms. Chrysalis's delivery is in the Western Pier this time." I let out a shrug and headed out on my way as I paused noticing how much different the road was to the western pier was to where I usually hanged out.
Not that where I usually went with Braces was high society, but it looked like just your normal everyday docks. I felt this cold as I looked at these buildings, it felt like every second I was being watched. I shook my head and told myself that it was nothing to worry about. After all, my shady feeling was wrong before about this business so this place just has the aura of scary when there's nothing really wrong.
Suddenly, and without warning, I had to break my car which let out a horrifying screech, the reason? There was a girl in the middle of the road. Slowly I walked to her and paused, she looked like one of the Freshmen back at school. I got out of the car to check on her, as she looked up very weakly at me. She begged "Help me, please, I really need help." there was a nod as I pulled out my phone and texted Braces to tell him that I was going to be late to the Western Pier and to just start without me, with my reason of course, after all...who can say no to helping a girl in trouble?
I kneeled down afterwards, and asked "Can you move?"
She nodded a bit struggling to get up as I helped her stand up on her own. "Thanks Mr."
"Ace." was my response as I walked her to my car. "Let's get you to a doctor to get looked at." poor thing looked so beat up, I didn't even care that her clothes were ripped, this was not the time for that she needed my help! She moaned out in pain as I said "Stay with me, Ms..."

Delivery Business? That didn't sound like code, I'm guessing Chrysalis is keeping Fancy in the dark about that. Chrysalis said "It's going wonderfully. Profits are up by 15% from last year, and my truckers are starting to get higher satisfaction rates."
"I'm so glad you took over," Fancy stated looking at Chrysalis "The old owner was such a fool." that's when his eyes spotted me as I paused realizing my arm was around Chrysalis's arm. I didn't even notice, it was just a natural thing. Fancy stated "And who is this young gentlemen?"
"This would be my new boyfriend." Chrysalis said looking at me. "Ace Steel, he's actually a packer in my company." She blushed a bit "And a former student of mine."
"Oh Chrysalis, you she-devil." Fancy joked, but if he only knew... that image I saw of Cozy practically peeing herself as she pulled the trigger, only to reveal it was blank. I shivered at the memory. "I can't argue though given my sweetheart. I'm guessing it's the same story with you as my sweet Fleur is to me?"
Fleur? Wasn't she one of the Crystal Prep students? She was dating Fancy Pants. She is still dating Fancy Pants. I hid a smile inside of myself. I admit that I was a little worried that Chrysalis and my relationship would fade once I graduated but, I'm glad to see that I was wrong about that.
Chrysalis said "Yes and no, the only thing we have in common is we started dating them in their senior year. Ace is still in Canterlot High. He's a former student of mine, and we just only recently started dating after he started working for me." leaving out some obvious parts but yeah that's more or less right. "He's great, a hard worker, kind hearted, and so handsome."
"Careful," Fancy said to me "I don't think you're ever going to leave this relationship." he patted my head "Not that I think you mind. Enjoy the night, don't worry I won't tell anyone if you drink a little. It's a party, after all, Sombra's back in town."
That name again? Who the hell is Sombra? Fancy must have noticed my reaction as he smirked "You seem off, my boy." I cringed at that sentence as Fancy continued "Sombra is a very unique individual. He's considered one of the nicest people in the country, and one of the most powerful. However, his influence was more in the Crystal Heights area, so I understand if you haven't heard of him."
Chrysalis looked at me quietly as she looked at Fancy Pants with a smile. Fancy looked behind him and said "Speak of the devil..."
So there was this mysterious Sombra, skin just as grey as Chrysalis, combed long black hair, red eyes...those eyes were staring at me. I felt this...pressure. Sombra, continued his walk as it just oozed power and influence, I heard the clacking of his boots...solid steel toe, all with a pitch black suit and red tie. He looked at Chrysalis, as his face softened. "Chrysalis, how is my favorite school teacher?"
Chrysalis chuckled saying "Not just teaching, I run a delivery business now."
"So I heard." Sombra said looking at me "And this is?"
Chrysalis smiled "My date, Ace. I know he's a bit young, but I feel like there's something there"
"If you say so." I felt the cold red eyes staring at me once again, a cold numbness started to grow inside of my body. I've never felt like this before, I feel like...like I'm staring at the devil.
"Fancy, do you mind if Chrysalis and I catch up?" Sombra said with a small smile "We go way back, you understand." Fancy nodded as Sombra looked at me quickly.
Chrysalis stated now that it was more private "Balcony?"
"How much does the boy know?" Sombra stated calmly.
"Balcony." was all Chrysalis said as she lead Sombra and myself to the Balcony. I watched Sombra leaned back as she said "He knows everything. Tirek attacked him last night, mistaking him for knowing more than he did."
A heavy sigh went from Sombra "You know how reckless that is Chrysalis." he took a deep breath "But fine, I'm not here to talk business anyways. I'm here to catch up."
"So you heard?" Chrysalis said with a somber sigh as Sombra looked out a bit. "Old Man Grogar isn't looking to good."
"I heard..." Sombra said clenching his fist around the rail way. I started to back away from the man, I just felt this anger....like he was going to explode.
"You should talk to him, Sombra, before it's to late" Chrysalis said as I just listened in at this point. Not much I could do about knowing absolutely nothing about any of this. "I know things didn't end well..."
"Chrysalis...he left me to die" was Sombra's steely cold response. "If I didn't escape to Crystal Heights, I'd be dead." he looked out and glared away "He was like a father to me, that weasel."
Chrysalis sighed "That whole job went south, we really thought you were dead. I only found out later that you were alive." Job? What job? What are they even talking about?
"Thank you for finding me." was Sombra's response to that. "I couldn't come and see you, Chrysalis. Where's Horn Hair?" I paled considerably knowing exactly who he was talking about. If "Horn Hair" is here, I'm going to get out of dodge as fast as possible.
"Please tell me you didn't..." Chrysalis said with a pointed glare. "You know damn well that he's..."
"We were family once" was Sombra's response. "I know he's a dick, but hopefully age brought wisdom."
"Last night told me otherwise" Chrysalis said looking at me quietly "Just ask, Ace here."
"Well when he shows up, play nice." Sombra said leaning back on the railing. "Just for tonight." he looked at me and said "I want to talk to the boy though, alone."
Chrysalis looked at Sombra and me, as terror froze on my face a bit. Talk to me? Talk to me about what?! What did I do?! I begged with my eyes not for Chrysalis to leave me alone with him, but she either didn't listen or didn't hear as she let a slow nod to Sombra leaving me alone with her fellow crime lord.
Sombra looked out from the railing saying in a tranquil calm, that still somehow gave me shivers "You're not in trouble, boy." he motioned as I reluctantly got closer to him, as he asked "How did you meet, Chrysalis? Be honest, kid."
"I met a few years ago. She was my Sex-Ed teacher. I've always had a massive crush on her, I even gave her flowers one day for Valentines day." talking about Chrysalis, and saying that seemed to soften the air a bit. "I care about her a lot. She's looked out for me, especially lately. She gave me a job when I needed it, the uh...legal side of things. She wanted me to just be happy. Every time I think about how good she treat me the more I realize how lucky I actually am."
He put his hand up as Sombra said "I'm guessing you can go all night, kid." Sombra looked out "Chrysalis seems happier to. She used to date that horned haired prick you met last night." I paused at that, Chrysalis left that part out. "She probably doesn't like to talk about it. However, they were close...real close. I tore my heart out to see Chrysalis treated like a toy. When she revealed that she broke away, and broke up with him in her letters, I openly cried tears of joy."
He turned his head and his face soured as he stated "This is just a long way of me saying something you should already know." Sombra adjusted his suit and kept his gaze as I started to feel smaller by the second "If you hurt Chrysalis in any way." I went to say something "Don't interupt me..." I froze at that as that command locked me up. "If you hurt Chrysalis, I will find you, and I will make the Reaper vomit after he sees what I do to you. Do we have an understanding?"
I visibly swallowed air as I said "Y...Yes sir." he patted my shoulder and started to walk inside as I exhaled panting like a mad man. Holy...shit.
"Mr. Grogar was the city's king."
My blood was running cold after my words with Sombra, the man was so calm and so eloquently spoken that it made me forget the reality of the situation I chose to be in. I am in one of the fanciest places in town, in which three of the guess are high level organized crime lords. It was kind of humbling because I remembered my place was, at best, a glorified stocker boyfriend of one of said crime lords. It was painfully clear that I was a child in with the adults. "Hi, precious!", speaking of children, I forgot that Tirek was coming too which of course meant she was gonna be here, that annoying little jailbait brat Cozy Glow, "I never thought I'd see you again after Tirek's whoopsie." I didn't budge or move, if I did all I would do was encourage her. She sighed and said "Aww, you're still not bitter about that are yah? You look like it never happened. I'm sorry about trickin yah like that, got to do my job you know?"
She pranced in front of me as I sighed looking at her far more modest dress that she was wearing compared to the last time I saw her. She smirked and said "You like my dress? I got it yesterday after Tirek paid me." She swirled it a bit as I took a better look at it. It was pure pink but covered in rimstones, with some hearts on the side of it. Her developing body was being clung to, however not nearly as tightly as she was before. She smirked and said "I feel so nice and happy."
I sighed and said "It's nice dress" forcing myself to give her a compliment, trying to play nice and hold no grudges. She was probably just doing her job and according to her it was a mistake. However it was hard to not have bitter feelings over being strung up like a piñata and nearly beat to death over something I had no idea about. That kind of leaves a mark, no pun intended.
Cozy asked "So are you dating, Chrysalis now or something?" that got me to turn red as Cozy smirked "Well I guess we're both in this crazy life now too." She stretched a bit. "Though I don't go to school still, you dropping out because of your sugar momma."
"No, I'm not." I said quietly looking forward "She's not my sugar momma, she's my girlfriend, there is a difference." Cozy rolled her eyes clearly not believing me. "Look, if you really were just doing your job...you mind telling me who the hell this Grogar guy is? Sombra seems pretty mad at him..."
Cozy sighed and said "Mr. Grogar was the city's king once upon a time." She crossed her arms and said "I only know what I heard from Tirek, but according to him, no one in the underworld would dare mess with Mr. Grogar. He was power and his top people enforced it."
"So who were these people?" I said looking back "Chrysalis, Sombra, and Tirek obviously...but...who else?"
"There's Mr. Discord, who's gone straight now. Tirek and him don't get along very well, especially since Mr. Grogar likes to see Discord from time to time like he's his second son or something." Cozy said pointing him out. "There's Tempest but uh...we don't talk about Tempest."
"Why not?" I said getting kind of confused. "What's wrong with this Tempest?"
"She doesn't work for Mr. Grogar anymore and not because he's to old to run the gang like Tirek, Chyrsalis, and Sombra." was Cozy's response. "Don't bring her up in front of them, they really don't like her. To be honest, it's a little scary."
"What happened?" I asked perplexed at the sudden change in attitude as she got all serious on me. "Did he hit you or something?"
"No, no," Cozy quickly, badly, corrected me which caused a slight angry glare from me but I kept my cool for now. "She got involved in stopping one of Mr. Tirek's operations. He...he did not take it well. He told me to leave his office. After he stormed out, I peaked...everything was rubble."
"Geezus..." was my response to that as I made a mental note to avoid that topic for my own health and safety. My curiosity was getting the better of me though as I asked "So, how many operations do you know of, out of curiosity."
"Well," Cozy said with a stretch "There's, Sombra, Tirek, and Chrysalis who all have a very uneasy truce, Chrysalis and Tirek especially" I started to noticed her lack of pronouns and wondered if she was just getting used to me, "There's the Diamond Dog Brothers, they're really small time and just do things for the right price." she smiled a little and said "There's Capper, he's funny, I like him." She sighed and shook a bit as I noticed.
I had to asked "Are you okay?" out of my better nature but I really didn't want to but she is giving me a hand, I think, unless she's speaking completely bullshit. However, judging by the look she was giving I don't think she was lying. Whoever this one was, it caused total fear to fill her body. Which, I won't lie,. made my blood start to run cold again myself. She's been in this longer than I have, so she might have met this one.
"The Last one of the Storm Gang." was Cozy's very hushed response to that. "The Storm Gang are very bad people, worse than anything Tirek can come up with." she stated "They're bad news, and if you come across one of their members don't say anything. Don't cross, don't do anything bad, don't bother them. They are serious news."
Thankfully, or unthankfully given who it was, I heard a familiar horned haired asshole named Tirek walking forward "Cozy, come here, Sombra wants to see you again." which caused a wave of relief to fill her as she left me alone face to face with him.
Tirek looked down at me as I realized how much he dwarfed me as a man. This guy was massive, ripped, and that red skin with his horn gave off the look of a demon. I never noticed it before, but his belt buckle was a big horseshoe, I wondered what that was about. He said "Your that kid from last night, right?"
I nodded getting myself ready to bolt to Chrysalis or someone else to avoid him if this went south. Tirek said "Sorry." then walked off leaving me confused. Tirek said "It was just business, glad to see you heal quick." then walked off.
"Just business?" I muttered to myself "What an asshole."
Chrysalis finally found me as she said "Soak it in, I don't think you'll ever experience a Tirek apology ever again." she looked at me and said "You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine" I said shaking it off "Your friends are very odd."
"Sombra's a friend" Chrysalis quickly corrected "Cozy and Tirek are just people I tolerate. Anyways, shall we enjoy our night?"
I smiled at that, at how quickly my girl could take my tense mood and shift it completely. I decided that it would be best to leave my new information to myself as we enjoyed the rest of our evening as she drove me to my apartment, she walked up to me and gave me a passionate kiss.
Chyrsalis reminded me "Remember, talk with Sunset or our Twilight about what might happen if someone is exposed to Equestrian magic when they weren't before, just to be safe."
"Got it, my grey angel." I said trying to flirt which caused her to laugh as she drove off.
When I entered my apartment, I paused getting a bit of a headache but shook it off. It was probably because the party was so loud, no reason to be worried.
As the morning rose, I started to make my way towards school a notable color was on my face, I was a lot more lively and a lot more comfortable. It had everything to do with how I slept last night. I can't explain it, but after Chrysalis left and I got that minor headache, I laid on the top of my bed and felt this warmth under my body., I don't know how to explain it other than it felt natural.
Memories of that weekend filled my head and, as they did, they seemed surreal. This weekend, I was beaten up, rescued by my former sex ed teacher, found out she is a crime boss, had the best sex of my life, became her boyfriend, met her ass of an ex, and met probably one of the scariest people I have ever met in my life. However my mind also drifted to the instructions given to me yesterday morning. How my new girlfriend/crime boss/actual boss saved me.
Chrysalis said that she stole Twilight's, our version, old compact disk that unleashed the magic. I could have sworn it was blown up though... I figured maybe Chrysalis found a way to rebuild it or something, at least that's the best solution I have at the current moment. I'll have to ask her about that when I see her again.
However, I needed to focus, I was exposed to Equestrian Magic and that could have side effects. I mean the Rainbooms can "Pony Up", Sunset can turn into some angel thingy, plus a demon, and Twilight's Midnight Sparkle form was kind of hot. I tried to piece together how I was going to approach the subject when I heard a voice behind me clearing it's throat. I stopped dead in my tracks as I clenched my fist ready to fight. There was a hush over nearby students who knew...they knew what happened between me and Gold. She probably said some lie or something about me. Least Sunset, Twilight, and the others don't believe it if that was the case. Probably because Sunset caught her in the act...
I took a deep breath as I turned to face the she demon who tore my heart out and stomped it into pieces. There was no mistaking that expensive ass perfume, the luscious body moving like a snake tempting to go after the forbidden fruit, her frilly white dress, pearls that I brought for her on Christmas...bitch, and her looking at me with a glare. "Where have you been, lately?!" spoke the bane of my existence, Gold Shine.
"Working," was my response as I went to walk away but she stood in front of me. "I need to get to class."
"Class isn't for another hour, Ace! Where have you been? Why haven't you been looking for me?" Gold said crossing her arms. "Don't tell me you thought one little fight is all it takes to..."
"Sunset told me about you." which caused Gold to lock up. "and if you're bugging me...something tells me you are reaping what you sowed. Aren't you, Goldie?" using her old pet name is hopefully locked her into silence as she just stared at me walking away.
However, the stubborn bitch wouldn't relent. "You aren't a man!" which caused me to roll my eyes and keep walking. "Get back here! Fight for me, damn it! Why won't you listen to me?! Just say something, anything!?"
I stopped one final time to turn as we stared at each other. My eyes locked with hers as I slowly narrowed them which caused Gold to back down a bit. I spoke, at last. "If you want to know what I've been doing, I've been moving on from you. You tore my heart out, and thanks to a real friend I found out you never cared about me in the first place." Gold looked away from me in a huff. "You were just happy I had a steady job and I was naive enough to fall for you." I then smirked "If you want to know what I've been doing, Goldie." Gold glared at me when I said that as I continued "Oh, it's nothing major, I just found a new job that pays me double of what I used to earn," Gold's mouth dropped "Oh, and I got a new girlfriend who likes me as a person, and is not using me." Fury laced Gold's eyes as I turned once again to walk away.
"Fuck you! " she bellowed out at me. "Ass..." I spotted Sunset and the others barely hearing her. "HOLE!" there was the distinct sound of someone grabbing a bookbag in mid air as I turned, and gained a big smile. Almost like she's been on cue, Chrysalis stood holding Gold's bookbag in her hands Gold locked up "Uhh...I uh..."
"Ms. Shine..." my badass amazing girlfriend stated "To Principle Celestia's Office." Gold wanted to say something but I started to walk away again. So whatever happened afterwards I can't say. I can say that I saw Sunset giving me a thumbs up as I smirked to her.
Sunset spoke "And the award for moving on from their ex goes to..." I let out a chuckle as Sunset said "Anyways, how was your weekend, Ace?"
The surreal weekend flashed in my eyes as I said simply "Very eventful," which was no lie. "Hey Sunset, can I ask you something?"
"Sure" Sunset said walking with me, as we began talking.
"So, where you're from magic is real and very common right?" which got Sunset to give me a puzzling look as if I just asked her if the Earth was round. I guess it was kind of an obvious statement. I sighed "Sorry, dumb question,"
"Eh, it's cool, to awnser your "dumb question" it is." Sunset said "There is magic everywhere. It's why I always get nervous about bizarre things that happen around here." I listened intently "Magic can..." She sighed and said "No, Magic in this world..." it was like she was trying to find words. "Magic is unpredictable" was the best she could say.
"At least in this world it is" Sunset commented as she stopped at her locker "Where I'm from people can do magic with ease and it usually goes according to plan, unless you're trying some of the big spells." Sunset started to get her books for her first class "Here though, it's kind of random. Sure there's some objects from Equestria I can use with ease but..." she let out a small sigh. "it gets frustrating sometimes. I'm still trying to understand it, and honestly without Twilight I couldn't have gotten as far as I've gotten."
"So, what would happen if someone not exposed to magic was exposed to it?" trying my damndest to frame that as a totally 'So I have this friend' sort of way. "I'm kind of curious now" I said, honestly.
Sunset sighed "Truthfully, I don't know. I guess it kind of depends on the intentions. When Twilight got exposed to a lot of magic before, she was also over whelmed by greed. It turned her into that Midnight Sparkle thing." Sunset sighed as she remembered that incident a few years back. "However, bonds can make it easier to control magic. I know it sounds cheesy, but my friends are how I am able to get and handle on things. Like I said, Twilight alone has helped me so much in this field."
She looked at me getting a small smile, I'm guessing having some good memories over there as my other worldly friend said "I think the best way I can put it, is Friendship is Magic."
I looked at her and nodded saying "Thanks, Sunset. I've been super curious to ask you but I never really got the chance."
Sunset waved and said "Well, if you have any more questions, I'd be happy to answer them." I smiled saying that I would then went to class.
As class came by and went, I started to make my way to Chrysalis's car while mine was in the shop. Chrysalis was looking a little down as I asked "Long day?"
Chrysalis asked "Yeah." She let out a heavy sigh "I just got a call from Braces. He's gotten really sick," she explained "Some sort of stomach bug." She sighed "I've got some stuff I need to give to one of my more reliable clients, and every else is busy with other things."
I asked "Whose the client?"
Chrysalis went to speak in code then looked at me letting out a deep breath "His name is Capper, he's a fence that operates in and out of town, I got a shipment for him, some jewels he's been looking for. He really wants em but I guess he's going to have to wait."
"Well, I could just do it." I offered as Chrysalis gave me a look. "What?"
"Last time you did me a huge solid like that you were strung up like a pinata and beaten half to death!" Chrysalis pointed out. "No chance."
I said "Won't that Capper guy be kind of mad? He sounds really important."
"Not important enough for me to worry about him, but he does pay really well." Chrysalis said her mind clearly mulling this over. "Still I don't think..." she let out a sigh "I don't want to see you hurt again."
"I'm dating a crime boss, and besides it's just delivering a package. Isn't that why you hired me?" I pointed out as Chrysalis let out a very audible and heavy sigh.
"I love you, and I thank you so much for the offer but I'm keeping you as far away from that side of my life as possible. Talking about it is one thing, but putting you in danger is out of the question." was Chrysalis's response as she started up the car. There was a small silence as we were driving back to my place. I saw the gears in her head turning but I understood her reasoning.
I kissed her, then got out of the car ready to head inside as Chrysalis said "Ace...wait..." I stopped at that as she said "Just there and back. No stops, you only answer the phone if it is a known number or my private cell number I gave you." She wrapped her hands around the wheel. "Just this once, okay?"
I nodded as I got back in the car with Chrysalis as she drove off the car filled with a massive uncomfortable air.
