Days of Avery

After the party with Pinkie, Twilight, and the rest of the group, I decided to talk with them. But I didn't really know what to say after all that happened the last time I was really awake. I did have a lot of fun though, more than I've ever had in....who knows how long.

Twilight soon said to me "Hey Avery, did you have fun today?"

I replied "Yes, more than I've had in a long time really."

Pinkie appears in front of my face while saying "Well that's good cause it would have been awful if you didn't have fun! Cause who ever heard of a pony who didn't have fun at one of MY parties?! I'm sure that everypony I threw a party for had a great time While ther-" her mouth was covered by a light blue hoof.

Rainbow then says with an irritated tone "Pinkie, do you ever shut up?"

I heard Pinkie's voice even through Rainbow's hoof, though I couldn't really make anything out. I looked around the throne room, the carpet on the floor was flat as a pancake, and the chandelier above us was shining as the sunlight hit it's many crystals.

I heard Applejack say "Well, I've got to go back to Sweet Apple Acres so ah can get today's work done."

I looked over at Applejack and said "Alrighty then, hope you have fun."

Applejack looks back at me and says "Well you don't sound happy that ah'm leaving."

I looked at her in a way and said "Really? hm... maybe I don't like a friend leaving."

Rainbow then says "Yeah, I have to go too. I've got weather duties today so I gotta fly." she soon left after saying that.

Applejack then sighs and says "Rainbow, always one to just leave suddenly. Anyways, ah'm off. See ya sometime Avery!" she turns to the hall and walks out.

I call to her "Yeah...see ya next time."

Rarity then walks up to me and says "I'm glad that you've gotten better Avery. You seem more gentle than Rainbow and Applejack with their boyish attitude, also you seem to have a more....eh....what's the word I'm looking for?"

Twilight responded "Stern? Complex?"

Rarity then says "I'm not sure, but whatever it is, it seems to make you unique than most stallions."

I then say "Uh...Thanks, I guess." trying to sound as nice as possible, I didn't really know how to respond to that.

Rarity then turns around to the hall and says "Well, I hate to say this, but I have to go back to Ponyville. I have to make dresses and suits for everypony for the winter!" she walks out.

I call to her "Alright, bye."

I look around and notice that Pinkie was gone, I asked "Hey, where'd Pinkie go?"

Twilight says "I'm not sure, she possibly just left with a zip."

I look over at Twilight and say "She sure does act a bit strange."

Twilight looks at me and says "Well she's Pinkie, you will expect the unexpected while around her!"

Just then a note landed on my nose, looking at it I picked it up with a magic spell and it read

Sorry that I had to go! I needed to head over to Sugar Cube Corner as fast as I could! My Pinkie sense was a tingling!

I then sigh and say "Why is everypony just leaving so suddenly?"

Twilight responded "Well they do have jobs to attend to, and we've been here most of the day."

I looked outside and saw the sun was just starting to set. I thought to myself

"Wow, time sure does fly by fast. It felt like minutes ago that I was partying with everypony, and now the sun is setting. I wonder where I'll sleep tonight. It'll be the first time I get to sleep in a bed without Despair talking in my head"

I felt something poke me on the shoulder, I turned to see that it was Fluttershy.

I then said "You have to go too?"

Fluttershy replied with a soft voice "Yes I do, and don't worry, I'll keep an eye on Sapphire while you're away."

I then said with "Alright..."

Fluttershy looked at me and said "Is something wrong?"

I replied "Oh, it's just that everypony is leaving so suddenly, even though it has been hours."

Fluttershy then said "Don't worry, you'll see us again! I know you will!" she then left.

I just looked at the hallway, everypony has left except for Twilight. I hoped that she wouldn't have to leave like the others. I then heard steps come my way, I turned to see who it was and it was Princess Celestia.

Princess Celestia says "Well Avery, I do hope that you had a good time."

I reply "Yeah, all the way until the end. I don't really like it when parties end sorta."

Twilight then says "Well all parties have to end, otherwise we won't be able to do other stuff we like to do. Say, what DO you like to do Avery?"

I just look at Twilight and thought about that, I really haven't the slightest idea on what I really liked to do. "Well sure I do like to be with my friends, but what else is there...? There's always walking around and enjoying views but what good will that do if I say it?"

I heard Twilight say "Avery?"

I shook my head and looked at her "Sorry, I was just trying to think of what I like to do haha..."

Twilight then looked at me, her eyes seemed to be drilling into my head. I then thought of her, just like when I think about Luna. I shook my head rapidly.

"Two now huh?" I tried to say as quietly as I could, I put my hoof on my head.

Princess Celestia then says "Hmmm... well, how would you two like to like to see Luna raise the moon?"

Twilight then says with glee "Sure! We'd love to!"

I say "Sure."

Princess Celestia then lead us to a balcony, Luna was already there still wearing the moonstone I gave her. I thought about giving Twilight something later. Luna turned around and smiled.

She then says "Well, are you ready?"

I then say "Yep, always wanted to see the moon be raised by you." I walked to stand by her.

I looked around for a bit, I saw that Twilight stood by me on the other side and Princess Celestia on the other side with her horn glowing and pointed at the horizon. I looked at the horizon and saw the sun go down, and the moon rise. It was very beautiful, but no stars yet. I looked over at Luna waiting for her to show the stars.

Luna says "I'll do the stars later tonight, I've got the whole night ahead of me."

I then looked back at the starless night, even though the moon was there, it felt empty.

Luna then says "Then again, I could just do it now and not worry about it later."

I look over to her and see that she had her horn glowing again, she was pointing it one direction then another. I looked to the night sky and saw that stars began to appear one at a time, like in a pattern of a song. Then all at one time, they appeared all at once, filling the night with beautiful lights that shine like a million diamonds. I stare at the sky for a moment

"Wow... it's like she can do anything. All I can do is simple spells and control fire, speaking of which I think it's about three more days before I drink that potion Zecora made me."

I heard Twilight say "Wow...such a beautiful sight, don't you agree Avery?"

I turn to her and say "Huh? Oh, yeah...it is beautiful." I look back at the sky

I heard Princess Celestia then say "Come on Avery, I think it's time for you to head to bed."

I turn my head to her with a saddened look "Oh come on...do I have to?"

She said "Yes, plus I want to give you something else."

I sigh "Fine..."

Twilight says "Well I'll see ya in the morning! I'm staying here overnight so I can catch up with the Princess!"

I then say "Ok, see ya tomorrow."

Princess Celestia then walked from the balcony and said "Come along Avery".

I followed her to where the guest rooms were, I think it was the west wing....I'm not sure. As we walked Princess Celestia soon spoke to me.

"You know, it's dangerous to have two crushes....you know that right?"

I look at her in shock and as well as confused.

I asked "W-Why do you say that?"

We arrived at a door which was the guest room I was staying, I guess, and she then said

"I've yet to tell anypony else about this and I want you to keep it a secret, Luna knows about it but nopony else. I can sometimes read minds of certain ponies, and I'm not very proud of it." she looks away.

I then say as my face gets hot "Y-You mean you know about-"

"That you have certain feelings for both my faithful student and my younger sister, yes. Look, I'm not saying that you shouldn't have feelings for them, it's just that you may have to make a choice that will have to make you choose between the two of them...And I'm going to guess that it's going to be hard on your part."

I look down a little, I didn't want say anything.

"I'm not against you on choosing either one, but I won't make the choice for you. It's your decision and yours alone, I can't do anything about it. I just hope that if you choose one the other will think rightly of you and understand your decision. Now for the thing I wanted to give you..."

I heard a door open and look to the Princess as she went inside the door we were next to. I followed her, she had a book in her magic aura and floated it to me.

"This is your own journal, I think it will come in handy if you ever forget your memory again. You can write down important thoughts or important days, it's all up to you"

I take the journal with my magic and look at it, it seems pretty worn with scuff marks here and there, but seemed to be in pretty decent shape. I opened up the journal, all the pages were blank with lines to write upon. I look at the Princess and bowed my head.

"Thank you Princess"

She chuckled a bit and said "Oh you don't have to keep on calling me 'Princess', you can call me 'Tia' like Luna does" she smiled

I yawned a little and held a hoof over my mouth, I was getting tired for an odd reason. I saw that Princess Celestia walked back to the door and began to close it.

"I'll see you tomorrow, my little pony" she then closed the door.

I looked around the room, seems like an regular room but it had a bathroom and other stuff...I'm too tired. I put my journal on a nearby desk and crawled into bed.

"Ah... it's good to lay on a soft bed again, so relaxing. I wonder how Tia reads minds like that...I just hope that she doesn't tell Twilight! ...What are you thinking Avery? Of course she won't tell her...that is, unless she wants the decision to happen soon....nah**"

I turn my head and covered myself with the blankets, I look outside the window near me. I saw streaks of light wiz by, my first sight of shooting stars. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
