Crimson: Introduction
Previous ChapterNext ChapterCrimson stood alone after leaving Sweet Mint and Glacier at their new residences; her home was built on a busy street corner. She began her recon of the area. The house showed signs of about 3 to 4 kids a single parent. Crimson began to walk the streets and ask about her new housemates. Crimson had finished her recon and sat in a pub across the street from the house around 7 pm. As the time dragged out, she heard a deep voice ask the bartender, "So I heard that a unicorn from Equestria is asking about me, damn it all! My family and bi have been waiting for our special guest all day. If what I was told is correct the inquiries are done by our guest who I am told is the best in recon."
Crimson began to choke on her beer, "fuck me" she thought as she realized she lost track of time. She slowly walked up to the massive griffin.
"My good sir...I am the one who asked about you...I am so sorry for keeping all of you waiting....I.....lost track of time."
"I figured as much when I spoke with a Sweet Mint in the market today. She also said I should be gracious about it because something from your past has made you OCD about being thorough."
"Yes Sir." Was her short reply. Walking beside him back to his house Crimson realized how drunk she was and was afraid of what she might have said. In the overall scheme of things, Crimson had only a few shots of a weaker beer than what she was accustomed to. When they arrived dinner was set by a housekeeper who took her to leave. The griffin's children were three in total and were on their phones.
"Kids please put your phones away and say hi to our guest."
"Sure whatever dad. Hi Crimson...I'm Aphrodite and you don't fuck up my life more than it already is."
"Fine dad...Crimson I'm Hercules and you look like a great toy to have around."
The final child didn't even respond. Crimson who had come from a broken home and lived a trashed life of her own grew infuriated for the disrespect of their father used her magic to toss their phones into the room behind her and levitated them all and slammed them into a wall.
"Look you little shits!" Crimson said raising her voice a few decibels. "Your dad asked a simple request and you respond with that attitude or no response at all. I know your mother is gone, try living with some parents who don't care what you did and spend time in and out of juvenile correction facilities and having to put up your child for adoption because you couldn't care for it and never knowing how that kid ended up!" Crimson put the teens back in their chairs and stood up and walked out to the backyard where she had remembered seeing a bench.
As she sat there in the cool spring night listening to the crickets she heard steps behind her as something had landed from a near-silent flight. Turning her head she saw that it was the one who had been silent.
"Miss Crimson.....I um.....wanted to apologize for not saying anything to you and disregarding my dad. My name is......Helena."
"Names of ancient deities of an ancient culture, classy as fuck....shit sorry didn't mean to cuss, I try not to when I'm around youngsters."
"You're fine, I hear worse at school. Mom had left dad a few years back and from time to time we see her with the guy she ran off with. Dad right now has another lady in his life and we don't like her that much. If you like I can share my room with you."
"Thanks, sorry for losing my cool back there."
"About that, I'm guessing you were talking about yourself?"
"I was, you're too young to know the details right now. I should go back and eat....race ya!" As the pair bolted leaving a trail of pine needles that they kicked up still resettling they reached the back door and went back to eat. As they are, Hercules flipped Crimson off, the latter used her magic to twist his finger. Aphrodite didn't talk at all.
That night Crimson pulled out her laptop and did some digging on the family. Meanwhile, she texted the others like Sweet Mint and Glacier Breeze. While checking her email, she saw a note from her captain. Captain Lead-weight told her that a young unicorn recruit named Blood-Drop Ruby (who just answered to Ruby) who specializes in stealth was stationng a few blocks away. Looking at the picture but the mare had a very coincidental feature; the mare had the smile that she had and a small birthmark in the left ear like she had. Crimson had a job to do in the morning.
