Blood-Drop Ruby: Intro

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Blood-Drop Ruby stood in front of a modest home, the slightly chipped white-wash walls with trim painted in a sky blue hue. The windows were blocked with lacey white curtains. Two griffin children played in the yard, their mother sat on a rocking chair peeling snap peas. Gingerly Ruby walked up to the porch. "Good morning Miss Lilac, I'm Blood-Drop Ruby, but most everyone else just call me ruby."

"Hello Ruby, the two kids are my daughter Sunflower, and my son Iron." Then Lilac called her children to the porch. "Kids say hi to Miss Ruby." The children greeted her and proceeded to hug her.

Ruby had just turned her head as a glint of light reflecting off glass caught her eye. She barely saw the form of a pint ducking and retreating into an alley. Shrugging she sat down and levitated a snap pea and proceeded to peel it. "So......Lilac, how long have you been married?"

"Going forty years now, our kids were adopted sometime after we married. I was thirty-five and my husband was thirty-eight and we weren't able to have kids of our own so we adopted. How about you Ruby, what are your parents like?"

"Never knew them, everypony back home back on our military base occasionally call me Crimson for some reason. Anyways, one day I'll find my mother or maybe my father even both and I'll ask why they gave me up."

"A few blocks away my cousin has a pony named Crimson living with him and his kids. Those children need a mother somehow someway; they've been a claw or hooful and very rebellious." At that moment the father and husband came home.

"Hey dear," he exclaimed as he hugged his wife lovingly, "who's this cutie?"

"Try to get in bed with me and I'll cut you" Ruby hissed as she used her magic to pin the griffin against the wall.

"Ruby dear, he won't and never will cheat one or get cozy with any other. That is how he talks please don't kill him...if anyone does it'll be me." Blood-Drop Ruby released him and backed away.

"Sorry, sir.....I let my emotions get the better of me."

"No harm done....well nothing permanent that is. I met a peculiar pony named Sweet Mint at the market, she is like that pink pony that a princess of Equestria has in her entourage. She is very......hyperactive."

Once all of the peas were peeled and the stew was ready the family sat down to eat. The kids who were more like young teenagers were very polite and the son Ruby could tell throughout the day that the meal was hitting on her. She wanted to tell him that she was at least by appearance was at least four years his senior. Little did she know that he hadn't hit his growth spurt yet and that he would be hitting it soon and the youngsters were a year younger than Ruby herself.
