Steve pov

I sighed as I sat next to a campfire with Sapphire. I looked at the bandages around her leg. I looked at the three crossbows, pissed at the raiders. I looked back at Sapphire’s leg. ‘Why the hell did you come with me?’ I sighed before grabbing a crossbow and using my feet to pull the string back.

“What are you doing?”

I looked at Sapphire as she tried to put weight on her wounded thigh. Her leg gave out, and she fell to the stone. I dropped the crossbow. “Stop!” She huffed as she got up straight. She leaned on the wall and huffed.

“If you're going out there. They’re going to kill you.”

I just sat back down and grabbed the crossbow. An arrow appeared in it before vanishing. “You need help, Sapphire. I’m still good to move and it will be night soon. I saw a few of them using healing potions. I’m going to get a few so we can get the hell out of here.”

“You’ll get yourself killed! Think about what happened out there.”

I huffed before I readied another crossbow. I stopped as I started thinking about what had happened after we left the cave.

Steve's pov eight hours ago

I hummed don’t mine at night as I waited for Sapphire.

“Steve?”

I looked over from my spot above the cave. I put two fingers in my mouth and then let out a whistle. Sapphire looked up, and I waved down to her. “Hello.” She blinked as she looked up at me.

“How did you?”

I smirked before I stood up. “I made a small path up here.” I walked around and started down the side. I walked down a small path on the backside of the cave. I walked around the corner and looked at the puzzled Sapphire.

“How do you do stuff like that?”

I shrugged before I started to walk. “Magic remember?” She nodded as she looked at me.

“Good point.”

I huffed and smiled as we walked. I had an iron sword in hand as we walked. I rested my sword on my shoulder as we walked.

“So, what item do you want to find first?”

She caught me off guard with the question. I hummed as we walked through the trees. “I guess I want to get my hands on a totem of undying. If the legend is true then you can’t be killed while holding it.”

“That does sound useful. How do you get something like that?”

“You have to kill something called an arch evoker. Once they're dead they drop a totem. I don’t know how it works I think it’s their leftover life energy.”

“That sounds a little scary. What are they? Are they undead or something lease?”

I shrugged as I walked. “I couldn’t tell you if I tried. I know they are a monster of some kind. All I know is that they use some powerful dark magics. And they can summon more monsters to fight for them.”

“Damn, I wonder if that would work with old age.”

We stopped. I had to give that one some thought. ‘Hm, you don’t age in the game, so would that totem work like that?’ I rubbed my chin as I looked up at the sky. “You know I have no idea. The original miner used his totem in a great battle.”

“What was he fighting?”

I shrugged as we started to walk again. “The legend isn’t clear. But, my money is on the ender dragon.”

“Ender dragon?”

“Did I not tell you about the dragon?”

“I don’t think so.”

“Well damn, I guess the best way to explain it is that the dragon will keep me from an item I want. I want the elytra, so I’ll have to fight my way through the dragon.” She snorted, and I nodded my head as we started up another hill.

“You know the pack isn’t happy.”

“I know. But, I couldn’t just throw them back out into the cold.”

“Maybe if ponies thought like you we would have been thrown in the cold.”

“Ya, but at least life is getting better again.” She huffed as we walked into the open, and I saw a dead cow with arrows covering the body.

“Damn.”

I nodded as we walked along the tree line. “So, griffon. They fly any favrite weapons I should know about?”

“Crossbow and axes.”

‘Pillergers then. I guess I can deal with that.’ We rounded a bend, and I saw griffons walking around the burnt town. They were tall with large wings on their backs, and I could see they were strongly built. Their heads were full of white feathers. A few had grey fur, I guess, on the body.

“Damn, this is a big group.”

I nodded as we slipped back into the trees. “If you see any wheat tell me right away.”

“Why?”

“My magic can help us make massive farms in time.”

“Okay.”

As we walked, I counted as many griffons as I could as we walked. I gave up when I hit twenty-five. ‘Sneaking is the plan.’ We got out of the woods, and we walked over to a half-burnt house. We slipped into the house through the burnt-down wall.

“Hey look.”

Sapphire pointed to a table, and I smiled and saw a crossbow with arrows. “Score.” I walked over and grabbed the crossbow, making it vanish. I checked and smiled as the crossbow appeared in my hand.

“It’s always impressive to see you’re magic.”

I laughed as I grabbed all the arrows, making them vanish. I looked at the door. “Keep an eye out lets see what they left in the house.”

“Okay Steve.”

I looked away from the door to see if they had chests or barrels. I saw a damaged chest. I walked over and looked in, seeing some loose seeds in the bottom. I smiled and scooped them up, making. They vanished, and I checked them. I had ten wheat seeds and three beetroots seeds.

“Hey!”

Sapphire harshly whispered, and I jumped up. She grabbed me and pulled me hard to the ground with her to the ground. She pulled me tight to her body; she had us between the flipped table and the wall.

“Keep our mouth shut!”

I felt my face burning as the side of my face was pressed into her leather bra. I heard two guys talking near the hole in the wall.

“Damn. This town was poor and not many females either.”

I gripped my sword tight before I heard them walk away. Sapphire held me still for a few seconds longer before she let me go.

“We need to get that damn helmet and get out of here.”

I nodded as we got up. “Listen, slip back into the woods and try to find that damn house. These guys are going to be a pain to dance around.”

“So what are you going to do?”

We put our backs against the wall as she looked at the forest. “Im thinking a few more crossbows and arrows would make hunting a lot easier.”

“Don’t get to crazy.”

I nodded before she ran out of the hole into the tree line. I nodded before I stepped out into the open, catching some attention. I rested my sword on my shoulder as I walked toward the two griffons that had walked away.

“What is that?”

“Wait is that sword made of a gem!?”

‘Don’t forget, this isn’t a game. They don’t come back when you kill them.’ I started to walk faster as I got closer. I lifted my sword off my shoulder and started to run.

“It’s attacking!”

I smirked as I switched my sword out for the crossbow. It seemed to scare them. I shot the arrow, and it hit a big male in the shoulder. He fell down to the ground holding his shoulder. I switched to my ax as I got onto the shocked griffon.

‘Feathers!”

I swung my ax, buried it into his chest, and felt his rips break from the impact. I kicked his body back, making the ax vanishes, and my sword appeared again. I moved fast when I saw a few about to shoot arrows at me.

“After him!”

I smiled as I ran into a house through a broken door. I heard arrows hitting the wall. I grabbed a table and then flipped it before looking over to a window. I saw a few more coming. I smiled as a few ran in and kicked the table at them. I knocked a few down. I stabbed my sword through the back of the closes one.

“Damn it get him!”

I grabbed a wooden bowl and threw it at another one coming through the door. I ran up the steps as one cursed and screamed. I saw this house had a door upstairs, and I smiled as I looked at it. I switched to a stone ax before I slammed into the door. A few arrows flew over me.

“Someone kill him already!”

I shut the door, swung my ax, and buried it into the wood. I let it go with a smile as I saw it deep in the wood right against the door. I then punched the wall a few times and broke two blocks out. I smiled and jumped down to the ground. I landed hard, and a few of my heats when dark.

“Hey!”

I looked over and saw Sapphire beside a house. She waved her hand for me to follow her. I nodded before she started to run. I followed her and smiled when I saw a house off in the distance.

“I saw some cleared land on the other side of the hill. Maybe a farm area or something else.”

I nodded, and we hurried off. I looked around and saw a few griffons drinking potions. I saw their wounds healing with a glow. ‘Healing potions!’ I smiled as we ran next to the forest. I watched as we got around the hill and saw the house coming closer. We stopped and then looked around, not seeing any of the griffins.

“Hey there is wheat!”

I looked where she pointed, and I smiled, seeing the wheat with some potatoes. I smiled and switched over to a stone hoe. I ran out and quickly started to cut down the wheat and potatoes. I had a dozen seeds and ten potatoes.

”Come on!”

I saw Sapphire as she ran up to the house. She threw her shoulder into the door, breaking it open. I followed her in, and I quickly summoned another stone ax. I buried it into the wood of the door and the side of the door.

“I got it!”

I looked up and saw she did have a helmet in her hands. It looked like a well-made iron helmet.

“FIRE!”

I looked over at the window as bolts came through the window. Sapphire took an arrow to the right thigh. I ran over, sword in hand. I threw her over my shoulder as a bolt flew beside my head.

“Stop!”

“Shut up!”

I ran over to a back door I saw next to a small kitchen. I kicked the door open and started running for the forest.

“Steve!”

“Shut the hell up!” I ran through the trees, arrows flying by me. I saw a few caves and smiled before turning, heading for the smallest caves. I switched from the helmet and had a stack of cobblestone. ‘Tell me if they get close!”

“Fine!”

I quickly closed up the cave mouth and then switched to the campfire fast.

Steven current pov

I nodded my head as I sent the last crossbow away. I summoned my pick-ax and broke open the wall. “I’ll be back soon I promise.”

“Steve!”

I sealed her back in before I started to run through the trees. I switched back to another stone sword heading for the town. I burst out of the trees charging for the closest house with light coming from it. Two of the griffons were standing by the door looking into the town. I charged them, and they only turned when I was right on them, sword raised.

“Shit!”

I swung my sword as hard as I could. I took the head off the first guy and slashed the neck of the second one. He fell to his knees he held his neck in a futile attempt to stop his bleeding. I kicked him over and saw he had a bag on his side. I looked at the door, glad to see that no sounds were coming from inside.

“Custom Achievement acquired”

I jumped, sword ready at the voice.

‘Avanger of the villagers. Custom sword craft awarded.’

I blinked before nodding my head. ‘Think about it later.’ I kneeled down and opened his bag. I grabbed it and ripped it open, seeing a few potions. I grabbed them all, and they vanished. I smiled, then turned and ran back into the forest. Two healing potions in my inventory. ‘Good seems like nobody saw me.’

“Fire!”

I looked up and saw four griffins in the air. I jumped to the side, dodging the arrows. I ran through the trees as I made my way to Sapphire. I switched back to my pick-axe, jumped over a small rock, and smiled as I looked at the stones I’d blocked Sapphire in with. I quickly broke it open and slipped in the close the opening. I looked at Sapphire and smiled as I put my back on the stone wall. I sighed as I slid down the stone.

“That was quick.”

I laughed as I pulled a healing potion. I tossed it over, and she smiled before she drank it, and I saw her leg wound glow. She smiled the threw the empty bottle out of the top of the small cave I left open. Sapphire smiled as she got up, and she looked at me with a happy look in her eye.

“Your one hell of a hound, you know that?”

I laughed as I knocked on the wall. “Well, your a bitch I’m happy to do it for.” She blushed and laughed a little as she looked down at me.

“My, you sure can be bold when you want to be.”

I laughed again and stood up, and Sapphire pulled me into a hug. I patted her back and ran my fingers down her neck. She sighed and held me a little tighter.

“That’s so much better without claws.”

I smiled before I pulled away from her. “Come on, we need get back. I have a farm and a house to build for the ponies.”
