Chapter 16: Amabile

You make another round of coffees. Adagio 'powders her nose' and refreshes her size reduction, and you all reconvene around the couch. There's still a lot of agitation between Adagio and Aria, but that doesn't matter. Sonata's there, with her huge goddamn heart, being precious and caring yet surprisingly scary with her calm, vague expression.

“I'm gonna be clear,” Aria says and breaks the silence, “if this all a huge waste of time, which I'm almost convinced it is, I'm gone.”

Sonata pouts, but Adagio puts a gentle hand on her shoulder to calm her sister down, then says, “I get it, Ari. I like the stakes, it gives me something to remember if I'm wrong. I not only intend to make good on my promise to restore our powers, but I'd love to perform with you two again, and this time as equals. We should still use the Dazzlings name for promotional reasons, but if anyone has an issue, they can speak openly and we'll discuss it, like a family.”

Aria squints at you as you hand her a mug. “Does that include your pet human?”

Adagio winces as she gulps down scalding hot coffee. “Mmhm. Radian is one of us, and he's instrumental to the plan. Speaking of instruments... I must say, you're a real virtuoso on that thing.” She points to Aria's guitar.

It's Aria's preferred purple compared to Rainbow Dash's blue, but it's definitely the same brand and model, after you checked the Rainbooms latest exploits. They're still going strong, performing tours together for a while before returning to their own jobs. Dash is still an athlete, Rarity is still doing her fashion stuff and so forth.

Aria's smug grin breaks any lingering tension as she caresses her guitar. “Metal-Mane's my baby, alright. I joined Salt-Lix as a backup singer and spent the last of the Dazzlings gig money on her. The group taught me the basics, and I learned the rest myself.”

Sonata chimes in, “yeah, just a shame they, like, ditched you and didn't give you any money for the tour.”

Aria gives Sonata an evil glare, but Adagio snickers and says, “oh, really? I guess I'm not the only one who hit rock bottom.”

“Pfft, whatever,” Aria grumbles, “they taught me about a side of myself I didn't know existed. I'll let them off for that, humans or not.”

Adagio muses, “I just find it amusing that the only one of us three with her head on straight living as humans is Sonata.”

Don't look, Radian, don't loo- yep, you looked and Sonata's feeling her neck, blinks at Adagio and gives a confused shrug.

“I just meant you've had an easier time adjusting than the rest of us, Sonata,” Adagio clarifies, then looks back to Aria. “In all honesty, I think you'll add a really nice element to the Dazzlings routine and if- no, when we get our powers back, we'll be unstoppable! All we need to do is get into Equestria, which is already underway, and get our gems fixed.”

Aria can't hide the tiny smirk as she imagines such a future, but it soon fades “I get we're all back on board, but what's your pet human got going on? Or was that whole 'harnessing Equestrian magic' thing just a load?”

Adagio gives you a wink. “How about a rebuttal, Ray? You've been doing well so far.”

“You're really calling me useless?” you say, accepting that challenge.

You give an overview of the device; the manipulation of magic, broadcasting magic and the like.

“Not to mention the cash this baby's going to make us,” you finish and pat your main device.

Aria shrugs. “Sounds pointless to me. If Adagio's already heading to Equestria, then she can just get the stone fixed, play nice and keep going back there until we're all restored, even if it takes a while. I don't mind playing the long game. And as for cash? Whatever. Even with just one gem, we can just tell people to give us what we want.”

Okay, best to try something else. It's time to take a page from Adagio's book and do a little manipulation. You power up your main device.

“Uh, Ray? What are you doing?” Adagio asks.

“Getting them both up to speed the same way I did to you,” you reply. “Up to you if you want in on this as well.”

Adagio glances at her sisters then gets out of the way, moving beside you. “Yeah, no, I'll pass. Also, I'm telling you right now; this is a bad idea.”

You chuckle. “I know what I'm doing.”

Aria and Sonata give you funny looks as you hit them with a full powered burst of siren energy, and immediately eyes glow red and their fin-wings sprout from their backs.

“Oh, hell yes!” Aria cries out.

Sonata squeals, “woo! This is amazing!”

You look at Adagio and say, “remember how you felt after you first changed? You said it felt great.”

“You're really going to try and win her over with good vibes? I kind of get it, but I've already told you this is a bad idea.”

“Why?”

Adagio watches as her sisters reach the apex of their transformation, and she shrugs. “You haven't thought this through, that's why.”

She probably just doesn't get it. You watch as Sonata and Aria fall to the floor as they suffer the same breakdown of their magic as she had. The device crashes and begins a long reboot. Damn it, you forgot to get that fixed.

“Hey, what gives?” Aria grumbles and stands up.

Sonata pouts. “Aww, over so soon?”

“Well, that was fun,” Adagio sighs. “Time for me to go.”

You blink and watch as Adagio gets her purse and heads for the door. You ask, “wait, where are you going?”

“Oh, I'm not going to stay here for the aftershow. I just hope you're ready to take one for the team. Instead, I'm going to go get some dinner from a pasta place I think I've seen nearby. A little treat for Sonata for being such a team player in bringing us together.”

Sonata rubs her shoulder. “I feel weird... and hot.”

Oh... right, the siren-to-earth conversion, then the resonant horniness. And the subsequent growth. And supernatural strength.

With emotionally unrestrained Sonata.

And grumpy, likely willing to do whatever she wants Aria, who has a chip on her shoulder with you.

Oh shit.

“Uh,” you say and look for backup. “Adagio?”

“Have fun, Ray!” Adagio says and closes the door behind her.

Aria grimaces and you watch as she looks down at herself, and her violet eyes go wide as she begins to grow. Her height creeps up slower than Adagio's originally had as she clenches and flexes, and her already firm and powerful body swells with strength as she hisses through her teeth.

Sonata's already generous curves fill out more as she grunts and gasps. She seems to be getting a bit more height to her change.

Both of their clothes sheer and rip in unison as they outgrow them, giving you more than enough exposed skin to cross another check-mark off the bucket list.

You still swear you're not a creep! A guy just has urges, and as much as you've progressed with Adagio, they're all hot.

It's a hell of a distraction as you freeze and indulge in your newly budded appreciation to tall, powerful women, but this isn't going to end well if you can't contain the post-change side-effects. You look at the laptop and it's still doing a long reboot. You need the handheld emitter, now, but where did you put it after Adagio used it on Sonata?

Oh, crap, it's in the bedroom. Behind the two sisters, as they finish growing. You move to get past them, but a freshly six foot tall powerhouse Aria grabs you by the collar.

“The hell did you just do to us!?”

Sonata, now looks at her fuller figure and smiles. “I dunno, this isn't bad.”

Then both sisters gasp and begin to look at you in a whole different way. Aria's furious, and Sonata's biting her lip as her eyes lid, but both have a hunger in their eyes and flushed cheeks.

“I feel tingly... Ray? Wanna, like, have some fun?”

Aria lifts you off the ground, bouncing between rage and arousal. “You did this to us... you're gonna fix it!”

Oh shit. You try and think of how to buy time, only for Sonata to snatch you her arms around you and kiss you on the cheek, the neck, the lips.

“Leave him alone, Ari, I wanna play with him!”

But... you guess Adagio did leave you in their clutches. Maybe she doesn't mind?

Aria painfully snatches you away again. “Hell no, I'm gonna pulverise this jerk and feel good doing it!” Aria rips your pants clear off. You don't exactly have a choice here as they drag you into Adagio's bedroom, fighting over who gets to go first; Aria with a dose of hate or Sonata with her well-meaning but still superhuman, rib-cracking power-cuddles. You're gonna break a bone, be it on purpose or accidentally, it's just a matter of time.

They're acting almost feral. You suddenly remember Adagio's description of herself and her sisters back as sirens.

'Beasts. Intelligent beasts, but beasts nonetheless.'

They haven't had that side struck down like Adagio has, or had time to contemplate how to fight against their instincts and learn how it failed them before.

“Normally I wouldn't... hnngh,” Aria grunts and shudders as she peels off the remains of her clothes, “ever let a human touch me, but I'll make an exception. But you aren't gonna like it!”

Sonata's eyes cross as she whimpers in bliss. “Quit being a meanie! But... like, Ray? For realsies? I need something in me. Like, right now!”

Well, this is it. You're about to be torn to pieces by two super strong siren-turned-earth pony girls fighting over you like a favourite toy. You can even see the emitter on the edge of the bed, but Aria accidentally knocks it to the floor as she rips your shirt off. Sonata's nails rake across your chest, drawing blood, and she pulls off your pants. Aria grinds against you, hard. So hard that the air's pushed from your lungs and her tits mash against your head until it gets buried in the pillows and you're suffocating.

Only for Adagio to rush in. She picks up the handheld emitter, pushes a few buttons, and blasts both her sisters. They both cry out as they're hit with the anti-signal.

She says, firmly, “sorry, girls, change of plans.”

You gasp for breath as the pair reel, climb off and writhe from the feeling and, after a good dose of anti-earth energy, Adagio cuts off the signal.

Aria growls, “well, that sucked. What gives!? The hell was all that?”

Adagio scowls and says, “never mind that, I'll explain in a second.” She storms over to her dresser and gets out some of her larger clothes, and throws them at her sisters, then points at the door. “Wait for me in the front room.”

The two leave as directed, and you're left with a deeply unhappy looking Adagio.

Damn, what do you do or even say in this situation? “I'm sor-”

“Shut up,” she snaps. “Don't even say anything. Go get clean. You're bleeding.”

This is a no win situation. You follow your orders out of hopes of salvaging this, enter the bathroom and close the door behind you. You see in the mirror that Sonata's nails got you good, so you wash yourself, dry up and dress the scratch with a small first aid kit Adagio has stashed under the sink.

It's only when you head for the bedroom again that the icy chill of what awaits really hits you. It's not like you have any other options as you turn the handle and head out.

Adagio's sitting on the bed, and she's retrieved your clothes and put them beside her. She's otherwise got her arms folded and can't look at you, clearly angry. “Sit.”

“Look,” you say as you obey and sit beside her, “I know I didn't think this through, and I apol-”

“And stop apologising!”

Okay, Radian, just shut up. No winning moves.

“I... I'm the one who's sorry,” she says and bites her lip and lowers her head in shame.

That... wasn't expected.

Adagio looks at you, her anger spent. She takes your hand in hers and squeezes it. “You messed up, and you deserved to understand the consequences of not planning ahead. But the second I reached the stairs, I realised I was acting like the old me. The me that uses everyone around her, like using and hurting Sonata to win over Sunset. The me that fucked up and brought us all down, split me and my sisters up... using what few people I like and playing them like chess pieces. I can't be that person again. Not after what it did to us. I still want to do whatever I need to in order to get our powers back, but not abuse my family, you included.”

You both sit in silence as Adagio just continues to hold your hand, but she covers her eyes with the other. “I feel like such an idiot. I really don't know what I'm doing in this love business...”

Did... did she just say... “L- love...?”

Adagio recoils and, as always, covers her emotions with a turn of her head and her thick, curly hair obscuring her face, but you see enough to notice she's bright red. “... w- we can talk about that later. I get what you were trying to do; using that feeling of power to awaken that nostalgia, the feel-good stuff like you knew I experienced. You took advantage of them, they almost ripped you to pieces... or worse...” She scratches her head. “This being a better person thing's complicated.”

“Yeah, I feel that,” you add. “But it wasn't just that nostalgic feeling. I wanted to give them what I could, the power you have here now. That way, even if anything else fails, you're all equal and have something to show for all this.”

She strokes your shoulder. “I'm sure they'll learn to appreciate you like I do. You've got to remember, Sonata may be a lot better at dealing with humans than either me or Aria were to begin with, and Aria's clearly much like her old self, but they haven't had a chance to get to know you like I have. They're still very much like our old, proud, arrogant beast-like selves. You're handling yourself well otherwise, so keep it up, but for now, let's just focus on getting to Equestria and getting our powers back. If we keep everyone driven towards that goal, it should stop them considering you less than them.”

“And the plan? Do we finally get to learn what you've been constructing all this time?”

“Yes, the plan.” Adagio stands and you finally see her familiar dark, toothy grin. “That and I think we need to get some new clothes. All of us.”

You look down and realise the buttons of your shirt are mostly gone, and you don't really have the physique to pull of the open-fronted shirt look. Not to mention your pants are being held up by the fly alone.

Adagio offers her hand to help you up, and you head back into the front room together.

As one.
