Rob Snowden: The Draconian Truth
Chapter 2
Previous ChapterThe night of that same day Rob met with Karisha, the justice hero had Deca; the Digital Enclypedia Computerized Assistant which is an A.I. program; start translating the various books that The Mole and the other mutant soldiers had obtained.
While that was going on, Rob began plans to use the thirteenth book to lure Laathind into a trap. As such, a sting operation was put into place. It was a covert sting operation, so in order for Laathind to not suspect a trap, the sting was not fully authorized.
"How dump does Rob think I am?" Laathind said while hiding out in a remote location. "It's obviously a trap." The disguised dragon added.
"Master Laathind, we have discovered that word of the operation being unauthorized has reached the word of that mysterious organization known as A.C.M.E." One of Laathind's helper bots said.
"I see. Then no doubt, a certain crimson character will get involved too." Laathind said.
"Sir, what crimson character are you referring to?" The helper bot said.
"Who else but Carman San Deigo." Laathind said.
"Sir, that person is only a myth." The Helper Bot said before suddenly being destroyed.
"After today, I will no longer need these Robots. That book contains my father's long-lost final words. It is my belief, that somewhere along those words is a chance that some of the Draconiads or some other form of dragon may still live." Laathind said. "And when I finally translate the book, I will know exactly how to fix everything." He added before heading off.
The entire next day until eight PM, the sting operation was put into full effect.
Night of the second day, eighty-four hours remain
Rob had everything in place just in case Laathind tried something, or so Rob thought. Thanks to some of his created technologies, he could communicate with who was in place for this great mission on the fly.
"Hey Rob, we've got a problem." Karisha said. "You know that thief from this particular world that goes around stealing things to prevent them from being stolen? Well, it seems Carman San Diego has found out about our sting being authorized and plans on stealing the book before Laathind can steal it first. Granted, we should've expected this, considering the book is one of thirteen and the last book of lost dragon history." She added.
"I see. Good eye though, Karisha. Mole, take care of it." Rob said.
"You got it." The Mole said.
However, it seems that The Mole and Karisha couldn't handle Carman San Deigo. So, Patra was sent in to try and convince her to give the book back.
"You really don't know what you're doing." Patra said.
"That, is some kind of realistic costume." Carman San Deigo said.
"Would you be so kind as to return that book back to the display case please? It's really important that this sting operation goes off without any complications." Patra said.
"And just who do you think you are, doing things in an unauthorized manor?" A male voice said. It belonged to Chase Deveno.
"You really don't get anything do you. This whole sting operation is supposed to be a trap." Patra said.
"Tell that to the police." Chase Deveno said. But as he approuched Patra, he suddenly got a chill.
"Touch her, and you'll be the one under arrest. It doesn't matter if you're from A.C.M.E. or not; your clearance won't save you from me." Rob said from right behind Chase Deveno; Rob of course still being the same black fox that he's been since he got together with Patra. "Not even A.C.M.E. has a high enough clearance to be read in on this operation. So, I would advise the return of that book now before a certain someone nabs it." Rob said.
"Who are you even after?" Carman San Deigo said but then suddenly the book was snatched by a metal claw. "What the? What's going on?!" Carman exclaimed. A laugh was suddenly pentrating the darkness.
"You idiots..." Rob said. "I was afraid this would happen." He added. Suddenly Laathind showed up still disguised as a human.
"Why thank you, Carman San Deigo. You saved me the trouble of getting out of there with this book. Thank you ever so much for being you. Thanks to the fact that you stole the book before I could, I simply used that whole fact against you!" Laathind said.
"Laathind, you caught word she'd be here somehow, didn't you?" Rob asked.
"Ah but of course I did. Now, as much as I would love to stay and chat, I can't have you follow me. So, here's something to keep you company." Laathinds before a nearby farris wheel suddenly came to life.
"Another of your stupid giant robots? Seriously?" Rob said.
"Better destroy it if you don't want any innocent lives to be taken by it. Farewell!" Laathind said and got away.
"Great, just perfect." Rob said and got right to destroying the ferris wheel-like robot.
"Might as well help out." Carman San Deigo said. Soon enough, the robot was destroyed and was now nothing more than scrap heap.
"Well, this just became needlessly complicated." Rob said. "This was supposed to be the end of Laathind, and you screwed it up." He added.
"Your the ones running an unauthorized Sting Operation." Chase Deveno said.
"This entire operation was meant to be a trap. A trap set up by the Justice Hero Foundation. Of which, you are speaking to it's CEO." Rob said. "Allow me to properly introduce myself: I am Rob Snowden, a justice hero and the CEO of The Justice Hero Foundation." He added.
Elsewhere, the mysterious man with a horse voiced started walking past a lot of wrecked cars.
"It's not here..." The man said. "Meaning that someone had to have found that key. It's the only key I know about. I must find it. " He added. He headed back towards a hotel.
