Moving in

FrostBite found himself in the private cave with Marble Pie. After a moment of looking back to the mouth of the cave he took a deep breath he turned back to Marble. "So… what are we going to do?" Marble motioned to a mound of dirt that was a placeholder for a bed. "You want me to lay down?" She nodded. "Ok." FrostBite sighed before laying on his side. "Now wha… WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" He exclaimed as she climbed on top of him forcing him to his back.
Lowering her head shyly, Marble attempted to hide behind her mane as she rubbed against him.

Taking a deep breath FrostBite gently grabbed her waist, causing her to eep softly. Giving her a reassuring smile he lifted her off him and set her to the side. "What do you say we just relax together?" He asked.

With a nod she cuddled up to him and soon the two fell asleep.

Several hours later FrostBite woke to the sound of construction. Looking at Marble, FrostBite slowly got up trying not to disturb her. Once he got off the dirt, he made his way back outside.

Stepping out he blinked in shock to see ponies hard at work. Looking around he saw Mod was instructing some of the workers.

As soon as the workers saw FrostBite they stopped and stared. After a moment Maud turned and nodded. "My sisters brought over some help with the construction. Hope it's ok if we substitute rock with clay and bricks."

FrostBite nodded with a smile. "Makes sense." He replied. "How can I help?"

Maud looked around motioning for the ponies to get back to work. With a smile she turned to FrostBite.

The construction took a few weeks to finish. The basement was lined with stone as planned with a pool of lava that was flown in by dragons carrying it one steel barrel at a time, the first and second floor had brick walls and clay floors and ceilings. The interior was decorated like an average pony home. What was planned for a three bedroom had one more added as a guest room.

FrostBite trotted from the castle of friendship. It was the grand reveal day of his new home that he was going to share with Smolder. Even though he had helped with the construction, he wasn't permitted to help decorate the inside.

By the request of the girls, FrostBite wore a blindfold as Smolder guided him to the house. With each step he felt his excitement build.

As they arrived at the living room, FrostBite felt the cool floor and took a moment to admire how it felt as he emerged arriving home after a long day's work to his loving mates… wait. Where did that thought come from?

Shaking the thought from his head he turned to where he thought Smolder was. "Can I take this off now?" He asked.

"Yes." She replied watching as FrostBite took off the blindfold. "What do you think?"

FrostBite looked around in wonder. The living room had a silk recliner and a matching couch and loveseat that circled a stone table. It was what some would consider a basic setup. But to FrostBite, it was amazing.

On the table were jars of milk with different colored lids. Opening his mouth to speak he pointed to the jars and was quickly cut off as Rainbow flew up to block his view of the jars.

"What do you think? Neat right? Want to see the rest of the place?" Rainbow asked excitedly.

FrostBite thought for a moment before shrugging and following her to the stairs. The upper floor had three bedrooms, each of the rooms had similar beds and dressers. The master room was expectedly the largest and most furnished. Along with a large bed and dresser, it had a full body mirror. The upper floor had two bathrooms. One set up for ponies and the other for dragons.

"There was something else added." Rainbow explains as they start back down the stairs. "But the girls locked it away till you got settled in." With a shrug she added. "Something about you not being ready. Or some dragon stuff."

FrostBite looked back towards the bedrooms. "To be honest. This is a lot more than I was expecting. Ya. I did agree with the design… but I didn't expect you and the others would go all out. I mean. What am I going to do with six outfits?"

Rainbow laughed. "I know right? Just be glad we stopped her at six. She was starting on a seventh when Twilight told her it was almost time to make the reveal." The two laughed as they reentered the living room.

Taking a seat next to Fluttershy and Rarity, FrostBite watched as Smolder whispered to Twilight before the two walked into the kitchen. "So…" he said nervously. "Ummm… thanks for the help. But I have to ask. Why?"

The girls looked at him in confusion. "Well…" Rarity started.

"Twi got a letter about ya moving to Ponyville. Thought ya would need a place to call your own. Ya know." Applejack explained bluntly.

FrostBite thought about that for a moment. "Thanks. But…" He looked over the girls. "That doesn't explain a few things."

"Like whaaaaaaaat?" Pinkie asked.

"Why did you girls get involved, for one?" He asked, causing the girls to look at each other. "And for two… what's with those smells?"

At that the girl's eyes opened in shock as Rarity levitated a candle and quickly lit it before bringing it over. "Oh… it's probably just the candles." She claimed. "I set a few around the house."

FrostBite gave it a sniff. "Smells nice." He replied. It was obvious the smell was not what she claimed, but he wasn't going to press the matter. "Rosemarie?"

"Indeed." Rarity replied as Twilight and Smolder walked back into the room with two trays of tea and snacks.

"Let's celebrate today with tea and cake." Twilight cheered. Rainbow gave an eye roll at that but went along with it.

Several hours passed before the girls left. Rainbow was the last to exit, stopping next to FrostBite. She smirked and leaned close to his ear. "Meet me behind the bar tonight around eleven. I know where we can really party." She whispered before flying off.

FrostBite was a bit surprised. Yet a little intrigued. He had heard how brash and tomboyish she can get at times. Maybe it was his dragon side talking, but he was finding that more and more attractive… shutting the door he shook his head. "Where did that come from?" He muttered. Looking at the clock he sighed. "Well… if I'm going to take her up on the offer. I guess I should wash up first." He sighed.

Author's Note

It took me a while to think of how best to work this chapter. But I think it sets up some interesting things for the future. What do you think? Should I slow down a bit before getting to the action or shall the saucy stuff begin?
