Celestia and I were lying on the bed. We both faced the ceiling and just enjoyed the moment. It truly is hard to describe what we are exactly. But in most scenarios it is best not to think about these things too much and just enjoy them for what they are. We haven’t seen each other much over the past months and I did catch myself missing her more and more.

I know Celestia enjoys my company as well and it makes me happy that I got to know her as a mare and not the Princess of our beautiful Equestria. How many stallions can say that?

I prepared to embrace her before she suddenly spoke up.

„You know, I really enjoy the time we spend together, Selenthis. Because when I'm around you I feel like I can be myself for a moment. I can relax and just loosen up. Quite literally in our case. Just the two of us, enjoying each other. I’ve got used to being naked in front of you. Funny thing is I always imagined you wouldn’t even recognize me with clothes on anymore. Must be very weird when you see me give speeches to the public, right“?, she chuckled.

„Don’t take this the wrong way, Selenthis, but I’m confident that I know you very well. So I can safely say that if you’d wanted something more from me you would’ve at least tried to advance on me further, but no. You never did. And I suppose that's why I trust you that much. Because I know you’re not interested in me that way. But I must ask …“

Celestia turned towards me and took my hand, guiding it toward her chest. She exhaled and took a deep breath.

„ … If I … offered you the opportunity to sleep with me. If I were ready and prepared to give myself to you. To be ready and take this step, together. With you. Would you accept my offer?“

Celestia’s voice was dead serious and I knew that she meant what she said. This wasn’t sarcasm. I looked straight at her and our eyes met. There was a longing in her eyes, not for my consent, but foran answer. I knew I owed her as much. A clarification as to what we are exactly. We had our reservations and managed to keep our distances without much effort so far. But I would be lying to myself If I said the thought of us having intercourse never crossed my mind. And I could see in her eyes that she felt the same.

This was the moment of truth. Would I be able and willing to please her? I exhaled and used my left hand to slide it along her side down to her waist. I’ve let my fingers travel further and Celestia responded by spreading her legs, guiding me towards her most sensitive spot. I could feel my temperature rising as Idid let my fingers trail further and further down.

That’s when I stopped. I was positive not even Tartarus would want me after what I had just done. I didn’t mean to tease her, I truly wanted her to feel good but it just felt wrong. I withdrew my hand and Celestia closed her legs. Her expression was neutral but Icould see through her disguise. She wasn’t disappointed, but part of her did hope I would grant her the pleasure. Oh, how much I hated myself that moment.

„I’m sorry, Tia. I … I just can’t. I can’t do it. It doesn’t seem right. Even if it would only beonce. I do desire you and part of me just wants to shut up and kiss you. You are the most beautiful pony I’ve ever met, Tia. But … the truth is I could never look at you the same way again afterwards. I‘d always remember what we did, even if no harm was done. I‘m … so very sorry.“

I truly felt like the greatest idiot in Equestria. And everypony who knew of the opportunity that I had just thrown away could rightfully call me that. I deserved every head slap there is. Can’t really blame them.

Celestia chuckled. I looked at her in confusion as she began to laugh.

„I have … never in my life … been rejected in a more melodramatic and passionate way than that. And if you consider my age that means something. Kudos to you, you truly never fail to surprise me.“, she continued to laugh as I stared her down in mock surprise. I’m glad she took it with humor.

Celestia took a moment to gather herself before facing me. „It‘s alright, hun. I can respect that. Thank you for you honest answer, I do hope you may find a mare one day, or a stallion. Whatever you prefer, Selenthis. You deserve it. Either way, don’t worry. This shall not change a thing about us. I’m already eagerly looking forward to more drawing sessions with you. Lucky for us, we have other ways to deal with heat, should we ever find ourselves in such a predicament.“

She winked at me and we both started to laugh.
