Prologue: Part 1 of 4: An encounter with a Devil

"Hey, Dash, how's your side of Patrol going," Applejack asked Rainbow-Dash as they were taking there afternoon rounds on Scout Patrol.

"Everything's looking good on my, haven't seen a single Titan for miles," Rainbow said.

"Well, that's a relief," Applejack said. "That'll be something Reiner can get off his back for today."

"Hey, Aj, how about we head back to home-base before it gets dark, you know how Levi gets when we keep him waiting," Rainbow says.

Yeah, yeah, ah know...wait a minute," Applejack says when she spots something or someone out in the grassland. "What in Tarnation?!"

"What, what's wrong," Rainbow says before she stops to see what Apple-Jack saw.

Right before their eyes, was the mutilated body of a Titan whose lifeless eyes were staring right back at them.

"HOLY SHIT," Rainbow shouted as she was startled at the sight of the Titan, not knowing if it was alive or not.

"Hey, calm your keister, the Titan's been dead for a long while now," Applejack said. Rainbow let out a sigh of relief.

Applejack then saw the bodily injuries and noticed that the Titans limbs were twitching, it was alive, but it couldn't move because of the horrific injuries on its body.

"Dash, look at the burns all over its body," Applejack said as she observed the pitiful quivering creature before her. "Whatever did this pack some serious fire-power. Now I don't know if it was human or not, but no Titan I've ever seen before that could inflict injuries like this."

"Oh, come on AJ, I'm sure that it must have tripped on some kind of explosive and set it off," Rainbow said jokingly. "Wow, it's almost like we ran into some kind of trap."

"Rainbow, this isn't funny, this could be very crucial if whatever did that is still roaming around here," Applejack said as she continued to observe.

Rainbow was about to say something when she heard something.

"Hey, AJ, do you hear that," Rainbow asked.

"Hear what, all I hear right is you and I," Applejack said as she was distracted with her observations.

Rainbow could've sworn that she heard flapping wings above her, almost like something large was in the air, but for some strange reason she couldn't see anything in the sky. Then the flapping grew louder until it eventually stopped, and all Rainbow could hear were the sounds of Applejacks boots as she was stepping on the grass.

"Alright, I'm going to go rest on a rock, my back is aching like hell," Rainbow said as she was walking backwards.

Rainbow kept walking until she bumped into something smooth.

"Ahh, just what I was looking for," Rainbow said as she put her hands behind her head.

Suddenly, Rainbow felt something hot touch her shoulder, almost like an animal was breathing on her.

"Dash, you ok," Applejack said even though her eyes were still glued to the quivering Titan.

"Oh, don't worry I'm ok Applejack, I think a Coyote must have been near me while I'm resting," Rainbow said.

Then Rainbow felt something wet touch her hair.

"Hey, would yaw..." Rainbow sleepily murmured as she turned around, only to stop dead in her tracks because what she saw next made her blood run cold.

Rainbow was staring right at the face of a horned beast. The Horned Titan had reddish skin that looked like it was rotting. Its face looked skeletal, and it resembled that of a corpse. The Horned Titan had long red and yellow hair on its head Its eyes were red, not like glowing red , but like looking a pair of red orbs hovering through black empty sockets. And it had the biggest grin on its face, almost like it was fully aware that it was scaring her and taking great pleasure in causing it.

The creature didn't move, not even an inch, as it continued to observe Dash.

Rainbow couldn't move, she couldn't breathe, she couldn't even scream, she was so terrified of this thing that she was completely frozen.

Rainbow would've run screaming, but she was no fool, as she kept eye contact with it because she knew that the instant her eyes left the Titans eyes, she knew that she was fucked. And she could not allow Applejack to turn around because she knew the creature would then pounce on her friend instead of her.

There were bushes behind her, how could it just sneak up behind her without making the most minuet noise, why didn't Applejack hear it.

Suddenly, Rainbow heard a scrapping noise coming from one of the rocks, but Rainbow did not dare look away from the creature. She also heard the Titan mumble something, but she couldn't understand what it was saying.

Then Rainbow started seeing flashes of her friends, her family, even her own beloved stepsister Scootalo, flash before her eyes. This made Rainbow start to quietly cry, as she knew that she was about to die.

"Mom, Dad, Scoots, I'm sorry I couldn't come home to see you before I die, I just want you all to know that I love you all," Rainbow Dash whispered tearfully, as she closed her eyes, accepting her oncoming mortality.

However, the Horned Titan's grin grew larger as the scrapping noise stopped. The creature bent over to Rainbow's right ear and whispered in Rainbow's ear, "Frieda." Then, a pair of large dragon-like wings unfold from its back, as it then began to flap into the sky. And once it was air-born, it then silently flew over Applejack’s head and disappeared into the forest without a trace.

When Rainbow opened her eyes, she expected to see a barrage of claws and teeth attacking her, instead, she saw that the horned Titan was gone. Suddenly, Rainbow could move again as she fell on the grass. Rainbow's entire body was shivering from utter fright.

Then she realized something, the scrapping noise it made, on the rock.

Rainbow then turned her head to look at the creature's masterpiece. The rock had a message that said..."I am everywhere...I am everything you see...I am everyone you meet...I AM EVERYTHING YOU FEAR!"

This made Rainbow scream at the top of her lungs, startling Applejack.

"Rainbow, what's wrong, what in tarnation are you screaming about," Applejack asked. "Don't tell me that you think this place is a trap again, because it's not."

"It was a trap," rainbow murmured to herself. "Aj, we need to get out of here, right now."

"But Rainbow, I'm not do..." Applejack tried to say before Rainbow interrupted her.

"Forget about the burned-up Titan, WE NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE NOW!" Rainbow said as they both got on their horses and left the area.

When they finally got inside the protective walls of Le Paradis, Lightning Dust was there to greet them. After Applejack told Levi about their patrol was a success and about the charred Titan they found. Applejack pulled Rainbow aside outside the office building and asked her, "Rainbow, is there something that you’re not telling me? What happened out there?"

"It was horrible," Rainbow rambled, looking at the ground. "It was there, I saw it?"

"Rainbow, please don't tell me that the great and fearless Rainbow-Dash is afraid of a Titan," Lightning Dust said with a sarcastic tone of voice. But what Rainbow said next gave both girls chills.

"It was a Demon," Rainbow said in fright. "A DEMON!" Rainbow then ran away as fast as she could.

"What was Rainbow talking about?" Lightning Dust asked. "Did she find a new kind of Titan?"

"I don't know Dusty," Applejack said. "But I know without a doubt, that Rainbow saw something in those woods, and whatever it was, it wasn't right."
