And Then There Were 12

Cosmic Offcourse's journal #1,
My first official documentation on the Human that has come to Equestria, by order of Princess Celestia.

A couple months had passed since Ben, and the dragon known as Spike, had joined the Sparkle family. There hasn't been a dull moment for the family, but there was a short rivalry between Shining and Ben on who was the better brother. It escalated for a few days, until Ben and Shining tired themselves out and called it a draw the next day, willing to accept that they are the best brothers in their own right. How nice.

Ben was quite the wildcard for the Sparkle family. It was kinda worrying that Ben showed proof that he could eat meat, but he made a promise to not eat meat in front of his family, out of respect for them letting him stay. But, it's obvious Ben has grown curious over the device that has been attached to his wrist for a couple months. Spike got curious too, playfully smacking his little hands on the watch, until the watch did the exact same thing it did when Twilight touched it, the hourglass became a DNA Helix and glowed yellow for a brief moment as the dial spun on its own, before it then returned to normal.

One day, Ben's curiosity got the better of him, and he decided to sneak out to the nearby wilderness retreat to use the device. Witnesses reported that the retreat had suffered from a wildfire, and there was sightings of a bipedal red rock monster made of fire, with some kind of emblem on its chest that matched the same emblem on Ben's watch. Ben got a good scolding from his mom for accidentally starting a wildfire, but was at least appreciative that he managed to put it out before it spread too far.

Ben couldn't exactly describe what he was, but he did say it felt very familiar. We had to observe Ben and his actions every day to get an appropriate log of data. [That's science talk for, we didn't get a single consistent reading.]

We had to confront mister Sparkle about the incident, who he still feels a little bad about causing, and we had to goat him into transforming again. How do we know he transformed last time? Well, he took us up on his offer, and became a towering golem made entirely of some kind of diamond-colored crystal, and the creature sported that same emblem as the fire monster that caused the wildfire.

We thought we had something concrete and consistent, thinking that the watch may have been some kind of magical artifact. We tried our best to calculate a magical energy output from the device, but it didn't seem to do anything. We asked him to keep transforming, thinking maybe one of his forms would give us a result that was satisfactory.

We were able to document ten different forms in the span of three to four hours. the flaming rock monster from earlier, an overgrown orange eyeless diamond dog, some kind of smoke colored ghost thing with one purple eye, a gooey metal golem with green patterns on its body, a small gray frog that could fit on the flat side of our hooves, a huge red troll with four arms, some kind of deformed angler fish mixed with a piranha, a blue reptile that could run at unbelievable speeds, the diamond golem we saw, and some kind of over grown green fly with a stinger on its tail that can shoot a repulsive goo from its eye stocks.

When we were about to call it a day, Ben did inform us that he had two other forms he had to show. We decided to humor him, and readied our equipment. We were not prepared for the results we got. Ben had transformed into a unicorn. A Unicorn. Our instruments had gone off the charts, one of them actually short circuited. The unicorn looked a bit like Ben, but with a blue-ish violet coat, and a wild bright blue mane with green eyes. We saw a pattern of the emblem appearing in different places, and we saw that the emblem had appeared on a black and white collar. The form also seemed to have a cutie mark, a Green version of the hourglass with nine smaller dark green diamonds surrounding it in a circular pattern.

Evidently, we had to see what magical capabilities this form had. The unicorn could do every basic spell a unicorn can do naturally, with the exception of apparently being able to 'see' the potential of any living thing, whatever that means. We also saw that compared to the unicorns of the Sparkle family, Ben's unicorn transformation towered over them by just an extra foot and a couple inches.

When he had transformed back, we had to wait a little more to see this twelfth form. Once the time passed, and Ben transformed, we saw Ben had become a Dragon. He definitely towered over Spike, by five feet. We almost didn't know what we were looking at till we saw little baby Spike to compare. The dragon had scales colored in a dark teal-violet color with the other part of his body being colored in a fleshy pink color. The dragon had bright yellow-green eyes with slit pupils, but the oddest thing is that the dragon had no wings like other dragons. His fins were more of a faded red color when the watch's emblem seemed to be hooked up to the dragon's shoulder on some kind of black and white armor guard.

It's possible that the watch changes Ben into a specific species, changing him into what he'd look like, as well as making him into whatever that species would be like at Ben's age, while also making the forms at their strongest and most capable at that age. this is all we have so far on the human Sparkle boy, your highness. Ben seems to be behaving himself and seems to also be wondering about some kind of idea.

Just got word that you're sending in your niece to try and babysit the Sparkle children.

Here's to hoping this doesn't backfire on us. I trust your judgement, I'm just trying to be a bit wary.

Author's Note

I think this is going good so far, I intend to make this stand out as much as I can from TGaP, while also keeping to the same general concept.

Again, TDR, if you see this, you inspired me, I'm not trying to blatantly copy TGaP. It's really good and it's very inspiring.
