The sound of the war echoed from outside. Five humans and six armored dragons, one of them Spike, made their way inside the dark chateau.

Disembodied howls rang in their ears.

One of the human soldiers pulled up a handheld device, having to pull up an electronic blueprint of the place. Two main points of objectives were shown. Both were somewhere in the bottom levels.

"The child and the bomb are somewhere in the bottom levels, heat signatures suggest a lot of moving activity." A woman by the name of Sara spoke.

Spike sniffed the area. There were many smells all mingled together that it was hard to untangle. "We move slowly, everyone be on guard, stay ready for anything. If we see any creatures that Blueblood turned, take them out. If you see one of Sombra's, don't kill."

"Why spare one and not the other?" One of the dragons asked.

Spike turned and faced them. " The creatures Blueblood have been gone so long its impossible to return. However, with Sombra's mind controlled subjects, they can be reversed. You can tell once we come across them."

"Does the Queen know this?" Another asked.

Spike made a face. "Why do you guys think she's out there with the demons and not in here? She knows the drill but I rather have her keep busy with the demons and not kill everyone and everything inside."

"What if she goes against Sombra?"

Spike's face darkened. "She will...and he'll be forced to retreat here. Move out." With that order, the group moved. Not wanting to share how he knew that.

Sticking close together, they followed the path marked on the map. Retracing the steps his mate and Neighsay took to their previous escape.

The group moved coordinately, when a few mindless thralls came out and attacked, they worked on cutting them down.

Spike had one thing on his mind and it was to get his son back. He knows what things are about to go down and knows what he needs to do. The thought of the bomb setting off while everyone there was something that scared him.

It scared him the thought of as soon as he got everything he ever wanted, it’ll get taken away by the hands of a madman.

As soon as they stepped in the threshold of the dungeons, a trap was activated.

Thick black smoke began to bellow from above. Seeping down to the group.

One by one, each of the squad was separated from each other.

Spike felt pain, pain feeling like it was coming behind his eyeballs. Whispers echoing as his vision starts to distort.

Snarling, Spike quickly slams the staff down, it lit as soon as he began to see his surroundings turned to a familiar place. Expelling the illusion in this deep red light emulating from the staff.

“Not this time, asshole.” Spike growled, not falling for Sombra’s tricks this go around.

Now the staff did give him some light, he was still surrounded by the thick darkness. His squad was nowhere near him.

“Fuck…” Spike sighed.

Trying to remember what was on the map, he starts to move.

Only to felt something hit his back.

Spike whips around and grabbed whoever just hit him, shining his staff over and gasped.

It was one of the dragons on his squad. His eyes were misted up. They attacked the dragonlord, only to have Spike swiftly take them down, knocking them out.

Bullets went off and shot at Spike, hitting his armor from all over the darkness.

He ducked his head and began moving blindly, attempting to dodge the gun firing before being met with a hard punch across the jaw and narrowly dodging a fire attack.

His own squad was attacking him!

The Sisters were still fighting with Sombra, however the tyrant was just toying with them.

He was having fun…

Celestia was getting extremely pissed and decided to harness the power of the sun itself, sky turned orange as pieces of the sun fell from the and shot at Sombra.

“Celestia, no!!” Luna cried out but it was too late.

Just as Rachel shot her arrows, she felt the intense temperature shifted. The Elders and Ancient dragons began to painfully shout.

Luna quickly created a blackout dome around as much of the battle, but the intensity of the sun created cracks. The cracks shined enough light that it burned anything it touches.

A few of the allies and enemies got caught in the rays, got incinerated.

Rachel used her staff, the Blue Celestial sharing the same frustration, through her own magic barrier. The skilled unicorns did the same thing to block out Celestia’s damned attack.

Gritting her teeth, her body strained as Rachel held the staff.

“Is Celestia fucking insane?!?” someone shouted as they took cover.

The attack lasted a minute. The longest minute ever before it stopped.

When the barriers were lifted, Rachel saw the state of the battlefield. Her stomach dropped.

Now many of her army was still alive, but those who weren’t inside the dome and those who were caught in the cracked parts were reduced to charred remains.

There were a lot of the larger dragon bones scattered around the chateau and the grounds.

“What the fuck?!” Ember could be heard shouting.

There was only a pony laughing hysterically at this whole thing.

Sombra materialized next to one of the charred remains, nearly doubling over. “Celestia, who needs a bomb when you nearly wiped out your own people!”

Celestia couldn’t believe what she had just done. Luna stared at her as if she had lost her ever loving mind.

Did not see Rachel flying up to them. Without saying anything, the Queen delivers a massive punch across Celestia’s face, knocking her completely out cold and sending her flying to the ground.

“Luna, before I kill her, get her fat ass out of here.” Rachel ordered, taking everything she could not to completely rip her flesh off of her bones.

Sombra continues to cackle as Luna begrudgingly gets her sister.

Knowing full and well their positions in Equestria was done due to her sister’s actions.

If they get to live that is.

Rachel watched them going before turning to the laughing pony.

Snarling, she flies down and lands on the ground. Switching from her bow to a sword.

This time she was going to make sure Sombra was going to die.

Sombra goes to turn to smoke again as she comes to him, thusting the blade at him.

The blade was glowing white, cutting him off from turning to smoke and stabbed his shoulder.

Surprised, Rachel used that moment to rip the sword out and kicked him with all her might right in the chest.

His blood dripped along the edge of the sword.

Rachel quickly used her staff and slammed it on the ground, the magic expanding out in blue flames, circling around them. Trapping the two in, he couldn’t get out.

Sombra gripped his wound, trying to heal himself but found himself unable to.

“This time, you’re in my world.” Rachel challenged. Rage consumed her, after everything he had done, she was ready to end this.

Sombra grunted, taking a sword out and stood his ground.

Spike slams the last member of his own squad to the ground, knocking them out.

He had tried to get his guys to snap out of this, but he couldn’t get them to stop. Spike didn’t kill them, but he did knock them out.

The chateau started to get incredibly hot, hotter than what any dragon could tolerate and the whole place shook.

Holy hell it was getting really, really hot!

The floor started to heat up to the point he couldn't put his feet down.

“What the hell is going on out there?!” Spike shouted, wondering what was happening.

Longest minute goes by and everything stops.

The Blood Staff flickered, feeling the intense annoyance coming off of it.

“I’ll ask her when this is over.” Spike responded to it.

As he goes to proceed, he noticed among all that silence was a particular wail.

Spike listens for a moment before realizing it was the wailing of a baby.

His son!

“Igneous!” Spike shouted, still in near pitch black darkness, starts following the cries of his boy.

Rachel and Sombra practically danced around the battlefield. Swords clashed, feet shuffling, magic thrown from both sides.

Everything else became a blur as Rachel only focused on the tyrant. Having to spend this whole year practicing her sword skills, finding the right weapon to use against him, learning everything she could about Sombra himself and what kind of creature he was leading up to this moment.

Her footwork was swift, the blade catching his, finding the right moment to land a blow. Cutting his arm, side, if there was an opportune moment, she took it.

When Sombra had tried to use his magic on her, she only lit up the area to fight against the shadows and shattered the crystals. He tried to use other spells but Rachel would not give him a second.

Narrowly dodging the swipe that went for his head.

Rachel saw that there were tendrils coming out to try and grab her. It grabs her tail and hooves before she took the sword and cut them off.

Her vision suddenly turned completely white for a split second before it went to normal.

There were sounds of cheering coming from the battlefield. She looked up to see her fire barrier was gone. There were no more portals from Tartarus opening, the allies, those who were alive were up for joy.

She watched a few jumping, a few hugging, all in a victorious glory.

Rachel looked down to her hooves and saw that Sombra was dead. His body laying on the ground, his head five feet from it.

“What?” Rachel muttered confused, stepping from the body.

“Rachel!”

Rachel looked to see who was calling her name. Seeing Spike running up to her. He had a joyous look on his face.

“Rachel, you did it, we won!” Spike said, stopping just at her, going for a hug.

She backed up from him. “Where’s Igneous?” Rachel asked him instantly.

Spike blinked. “Oh, I passed him off to Ember, he’s fine.” he said. “Baby the war’s over now.. We can finally be together.”

He then gives her a hug.

And it was the coldest hug she ever received.

Rachel placed one hand on his shoulder, and without a second thought, shoves the sword right into his gut. The blade sticking out from the back.

The vision shifted again, however, it wasn’t Spike she had impaled.

It was Sombra.

His eyes were bulging out and blood started to seep from his mouth. He looks at her with a surprised look.

“Now I see the resemblance.” Rachel whispered in his ears.

She harshly twists the sword and kicks him away. Ripping the sword out of him.

Blood dripped heavily from the massive hole. Sombra staggered back, gripping his stomach.

Rachel had dropped the fire circle, he turned into smoke and quickly retreats back to the chateau.
