Chapter 3: Meet & greet

As Twilight and Adam walked toward the Canterlot castle, he couldn't help but feel a little anxious, the big purple golden gilded doors swung open before him and his pony guide. He was walked down a long hallway toward two thrones, the two princess's sat looking keenly onto him and Twilight. Celestia was the first to speak, "You've only been here a day, yet there has already been rumors and tales spun up about your appearance." Adam remained silent as she continued, "I have heard from Twilight's account how you had arrived, but now I wish to hear yours."
Twilight nudged him in the side slightly, she could see his anxiety. He said "Well, then you must know from her that my name is Adam." of which the princess responded with a nod. He said "I arrived here because, I think I might have built a machine that had temporarily ripped the fabric of the space-time continuum, and launched me into here to fix that rip." Twilight looked dumbfounded and said "I read a lot of books on science and magic, but I've never heard about a 'Space-time continuum' in any of my books!" Adam said "I'll explain to you later."
He spoke to the princess again, "Would you mind if we shook hands? hooves? ugh this is terribly confusing." The princess giggled slightly at this comment, then replied "Sure, I also think you MIGHT want to get your terminologies right, so when we have fully met, do not hesitate to explore Ponyville!" He repeated the name in his head "Ponyville" with an almost resentful tone. Adam's hand cupped the princess's hoof, then suddenly "WHOOMPH!" he was launched all the way back, then forcefully slammed into the doors of the entrance to the castle with a dull, echoing "THUNK!"
Twilight ran to him, to check if he was OK, but the matter of fact, he wasn't. However, a small amulet hung from around his neck, the circular stone that comprised it was black and white, shaped into that of Yin and Yang. Twilight's eyes fixated upon the relic from Adam's past, a slight fear, but also a slight interest crept upon her face. Meanwhile, Princess Celestia walked down the hallway, giving Adam such a scornful look that any man would have turned into a turtle and tucked himself away. However, this was not the case with Adam, as he stared deep into those scornful, unblinking eyes as she said "You tried to take my power, the second you touched me I felt the surge."
Twilight backed way from Adam, now coming out of his reach, he panicked and said "No, you've got it all wrong, it's not ME it's my amulet, it permanently COPIES peoples powers over to me. Then puts them all into MY memory so I can use them whenever I want to, if I haven't already copied another power like it, of course!" This statement even threw off princess Luna, who was stood behind her sister. He said "Without the amulet, I am completely normal, or otherwise considered mortal, I can die, starve, die of thirst, natural diseases or irregular diseases!"
At this, all 3 ponies stared right at the amulet with raised eyebrows, he would have laughed had the scenario not taken a turn for the worst. At this, Princess Luna said "So, as long as you are wearing that little relic around your neck, you will never die, no harm will come to you, nor will you feel hunger nor thirst?" Adam looked at the younger sister and smiled happily "See, you get the idea, and yes, it does mean all that stuff happens." Luna smiled back in joy, realizing she had just helped made her smile slightly wider.
Adam looked Luna over with his sapphire blue eyes, for a brief moment he was lost, concentrating purely upon the younger princess now, she blushed slightly as she recognized him looking her over. However his attention was brought back to the older sister by a slight cough from her. she smiled and said "I think I've seen and heard enough for now, I'll try my best to accommodate you in Ponyville, but until that point, you can stay with Twilight until I have a house ready for you."
