The rise of Adam, the mysterious man: Twilights' extrordinary day

Chapter 9: A test of Intellect, friendship and magic

When he woke up in the morning, Adam found himself cuddled up with Twilight in her bed, he was still fully dressed. However, the feeling was unlike any other, he was far more connected to this pony than any other. He moved and she sighed and said "You're terribly comfortable and warm there Adam, I'm not sure if I want you to move." He laughed softly "Well, if you want to skip out on the tests you're going to perform on me today, then I'll cuddle you right here, like this, all today."

Twilight sighed and looked at Adam, who placed a kiss upon her cheek, then said "Come on, I haven't got ages to muck about, lets get this done." Twilight blushed as she rubbed her cheek. He smiled and said "You remind me of myself as a child, Twilight, you bury your head in books and study like a maniac. However, no matter what, you seem to keep a positive attitude and be well known by others."

She looked at Adam and said "I never asked for any of this to happen, it was all natural, I have built up fantastic friendships here." Adam smiled, then sighed and said "Unfortunately for me. I wish that everything were second nature to me, so I need not struggle. Unfortunately not everything was handed to me upon a silver platter, seeing as I was diagnosed with autism as a child."

Twilight asked "Autism?" Adam replied "Hard to explain, even harder to understand, a mental state which affects those who are diagnosed with it differently." she looked at Adam, almost capable of understanding him in his entirety, for beneath the suit and the charms lived a man who had been alone and outcast for so long.

He smiled once again, returning to his cheerful self. Twilight smiled, but was slightly worried about what else Adam kept under wraps. Their journey to the cottage near the Everfree forest was short and sweet, Twilight knocked gently on the door and patiently waited. A creamy yellow pony with a pink mane draped over one eye, and a pink tail. Twilight smiled and said "Hey Fluttershy, this is my friend Adam. You might remember him as the creature you helped nurse back to health after he crashed into my home."

Fluttershy's blue eyes set upon Adam, who smiled shyly in return of her look. Fluttershy then whispered something to Twilight, who said "Don't worry, he's kind." Fluttershy nervously approached Adam, he squatted down do look less tall and threatening. This seemed to ease the pony, she approached cautiously, still afraid, she stopped by his feet. He sat down and smiled shyly, she said to him quietly "H-h-h-hello... I'm... f-f-f-f-f-Fluttershy..." Adam smiled and said "Hello Fluttershy, I'm Adam, I was hoping to become one of your new friends, if that's OK?"

Fluttershy smiled and said "Of course it's OK, come right in, any friend of Twilight is a friend of mine." Twilight smiled and whispered to him "So far, so good, keep up and I might just have to ace you on friendship right now." Adam smiled slightly wider this time, allowing his pearly whites to be seen.

Adam walked inside the cottage and sat down on one of the nearest sofas, staying next to Twilight. He put one arm around her and cuddled her slightly. Fluttershy asked "What do you need Twilight, not if you don't mind me asking?" Twilight responded "We've come here to test Adams friendship and intellect." but it seems that He had not only analysed the situation perfectly, but had also managed to befriend you in seconds." Adam smiled, his smile growing wider, a slight tear of joy rolling down his face.

Twilight said "Adam, are you alright?" He said "Yes, I'm more than alright, in fact I feel fantastic, I have never felt this way before." he sniffed "It is a wonderful feeling." Twilight said "Well that leaves me to evaluate your magical skills."

They made their way back to Twilight's tree-house, Adam still beaming with his new-found pride.
