Chapter II: Stayin' Alive.
Finally, after a long night you came back home, standing before the door you glanced and spotted a note on it. It read:
You stared at a piece of paper for a good minute before realizing that your missing neighbors prepared you a surprise party that you haven’t shown up to. Great. Another thing for tomorrow, apologize to everypony.
After checking the time you realized that there are still 3 hours before your work. You should get to the bed fast if you want to sleep before heading out. Then again, if you oversleep, your boss Spring Stone will most likely shout at you. Especially because you are a foreman in the construction company, and you are meant to watch over other ponies. But then again, how can you do that when you are this tired?
You decided to get two cups of coffee and just try to stay awake. You are extremely tired but you don’t want to upset your boss either. Back in your old job when you were still on earth. Pulling all-nighter before work was common. Then again, you haven’t done that in a long time…
You somehow managed to stay awake during the morning and even took a shower to stay fresh. You skipped breakfast and instead went to get some food before work. You stopped at the morning market and got some fresh buns with white cheese which you munched on while walking to your work.
Finally, you stepped into the building with some other ponies, your coworkers. And greeted them. Then you went into your office to see what you needed to do today. Mondays are terrible…
After tossing some useless junk out of the way you glanced over the portfolio where your work plan for today was. ‘Work plan’ was simply a list made by your boss for you to follow. She didn’t care that you should work solely as a foreman. She used you for all kinds of stuff, from talking to customers to handling the documents.
Today your task was simple, you need to go to construction site number 25-24 and see what the customer wants to change in their plans. And explain it to the crew. Simple enough. But is that all? Surely not. This was two hours of work max. And if you know Spring Stone she usually wants to squeeze every part of your energy. You searched for more folders and didn’t seem to find any. You asked your coworkers and they seem to have normal work plans. This was either because she heard about your anniversary or simply forgot about you. Either way, you won’t complain. Better to get to it fast and go home. If you are lucky you will take a good nap and head to Twilight to make this party today.
Still a bit tired you searched the construction map and to your surprise could not find the site on the Ponyville map. You decided to investigate directly in the site folder. After searching for about 5 minutes in the office you finally found it.
Construction site 25-24.
Commissioner: Nova G.
The hell? You don’t remember any street named ‘Blue moon’ in Ponyville. You glanced over the map 3 times before you asked your coworker.
“Blue moon St? Never heard, give me the folder.” She said before you gave her the folder.
“Oh, I see. It’s not in Ponyville. It's in Canterlot, you see CTL? It stands for Canterlot.” She explained before giving you the folder back.
You simply stood there. And blinked, before shouting at the top of your lungs curses in different languages so the ponies would not understand.
You need to get to the Canterlot again. Again. At least now you know why you only have a single task to do. It only takes around 6 hours to get to the Canterlot and back. Not mentioning travel costs and additional time to get to the client and explain stuff to the crew.
You are sure that Spring Stone will repay you and give you a day to rest but still, this is the worst possible timing ever. You still need to talk to Twilight, but if you want to catch a train you need to go now.
You cursed your fate as you went into the train station which you left not 4 hours ago. You decided to send a letter to Twilight when you get to Canterlot. Mail-in this world takes less than a couple of hours between those two cities. But is Ponyville even a city? Technically no, but officially yes. It would not be that way if there wasn’t a Twilight Castle in it, but that is something completely different. You need to stay awake now.
You approached the ticket seller, and as he saw you again he asked if you would like a month pass for the trains as he has seen you more than four times now.
You simply laughed it off and said that it’s work-related and that you won’t need it.
The train was never late, but sometimes traveled slower to Canterlot than to Ponyville, still, the ride took the same amount of time for some reason. You realized that you are thinking about trivial stuff just to stay awake. And as you did, you started to drift to your sleep.
The train horn woke you up, you shot upright and saw that you were already in Canterlot, one and a half hours later. You saw that the ticket that you held in your arm was stamped and the conductor didn’t wake you up as he stamped it. What a great lad.
You don’t even question how you managed to sleep through the ride as you departed from the train station into the city. You glanced over the map of the city just outside the train station that gave you a general direction you should go to, to reach the client's construction site.
You quickly realized that the direction was much further out of the city. It was a villa after all, so there needed to be a large amount of solid ground to put it on. And on the Canterlot Mountain, it meant that the terrain was more flat around the castle area. Makes sense.
You somehow managed to follow the general path to the city outskirts when you spotted the yellow flags around the small hill. Yellow flags signalized that the construction is in the general area. Great, you almost found it.
And after circling the hill you spotted the yellow tape with black lines that meant that this area is under construction. Now you need to find someone in charge to get to the client.
Before you went inside the construction zone you dressed appropriately. You put on a blue and green jacket and a blue helmet. You don’t understand the coloring of the construction clothes here, it is completely different than on earth. Still, you need to dress appropriately to not get yelled at.
You crossed the tape and went straight into one of the tents that circled the half-finished building. As you entered you saw three ponies standing around drinking some ‘questionable’ liquors. They seemed surprised by your look as they had never seen anyone like you. You decided to ignore that and simply speak up.
“Construction control. Foreman Anonymous. Who is in charge here?” You said, and almost immediately one of the ponies split the drink into another one’s face. They threw them in the corner of the tent and smiled at you when you tried to not laugh at them and the situation. The first time here you managed to catch the drinking ones. You almost thought the drunk construction was solely an earth tradition.
“I am.” Said one of the stallions, the one who split out the drink in another face. He was clearly nervous when he said that.
“Alright. I’m here to correct the construction plan with Ms. Nova G. Can you get her?”
“Yes sir!” He said while quickly leaving the tent. You were stuck with the two stallions that instantly became sober when you sat down looking at them.
The whole situation is extremely funny, and if you weren’t that tired you would play with them and tell them you will report them unless they do some stupid shit. Unfortunately, you are too tired to do that. You already sent this stallion to get the client, and that was your job.
“So… Emmm” One started to speak up.
“No, I’m not going to report you. Just don’t drink at work. This time I will pretend I didn’t see anything.” You said with half a smile.
“Thank you! We will not. Right?” One gestured to the other stallion. The other one simply nodded.
You know that as soon as you leave they will drink again but who cares. As long as no one kills himself it’s alright. You aren’t responsible for them anyway… Wait… You are. At least now.
Fuck.
“Mr.Anonymous! Here’s Ms. Nova.” The captain of the crew said as he entered the tent. The mare in question followed.
“Pleasure to meet you, ma'am, I’m Foreman Anonymous, you requested changes to the construction right?” You asked the mare who was looking at the plans of the building in front of her face. She was levitating it with her horn.
“Oh yes, I was thinking about adding the fourth floor to the building and the balcony at the second one. Oh! And removing the pool.” She said while making strange movements with her hoofs before she spotted you.
“Oh, sweet Celestia, what are you!?” She stopped and gasped.
“I’m Anonymous, I’m a human. I’m working for the Stone Building Corporation.” You explained.
“A human? Never seen or heard about your kind.” She exclaimed while eyeing you up and down.
“I’m the only human in Equestria. But that’s a completely different story. Please, let us walk to the building and see what I can do for you today.”
You said as you left the tent and went into the building's first floor. And then the second. Followed by the whole crew. You glanced over the construction blueprints and realized that you could potentially tear down the second wall and construct the balcony. But it would need to be reinforced on the outside as well.
The mare just watched as you made your way into the third floor and looked around to see if the construction could hold another floor. You made some notes and got to the first floor again. Then after looking at the walls for a bit you decided that there could be another floor added.
The last thing was the pool. The base was already constructed and it seemed like a natural kind of pool without rough edges. It still had some work to do but she needed to pay for the already constructed bottom.
You turned around and spotted a large number of ponies behind you. You simply backed up a little and spoke.
“From what I can see, we can build both a balcony and the floor, but it would seem that the pool base was already dug out and filled with cement.” You explained this to the client.
“Balcony would also need to be reinforced on the outside and the second wall needs to be torn out. The third floor does not need any modifications to the construction, but I would suggest not building any more than that.” You further explained.
“So what about the pool? Do I need to pay for it?” She asked, looking at the large hole.
“Yes? The work that is already done needs to be paid for... But if you want to build something similar to a pond you already have a base. If not we can cover that up, but it will cost you.” You answered.
“Outrageous! What kind of company are you?!” She frowned. Giving you some mean comments about how you are in no condition to tell her that.
“Ma’am, I’m just-” You tried to explain the fundamentals of commission work but the mare stated that she had the right to remove any existing build for free. And that was completely not true.
The mare constantly assaulted you with the papers where the information about the contract was written. With they clearly said that already finished construction is the responsibility of the client to pay. She said that the pool was not yet finished thus there was no finished job, and she didn’t need to pay for it.
That day new Karen was born. You spend more than two hours explaining to the mare that she needs to pay for the extra work, but she insists that she does not and she doesn't even have more bits to do so.
‘Then why would you construct the villa on the most expensive ground in this country if you don’t have a mountain of bits to back it up!?’ You thought as you argued with her further.
In the end, she stated that she will get her husband to see you tomorrow. This forced you to inform your boss that you will need to stay in Canterlot to solve this problem. You wrote a letter to your boss explaining the situation. She always said that you need to finish your work without her and she will pay for whatever trouble you have, as long as you don’t involve her.
Fucking great. On top of that, you forgot to inform Twilight about the trip to Canterlot. Now she could be worried about you. You decided to write a letter to her as well, but you knew that both of them will be delivered tomorrow so there is a big chance she will go to your house to see if you are there. And last time she almost found your porn magazine stash inside the couch. You are sure she will find it this time, the mare is like a walking radar.
You found a cheap motel at the end of the city and decided to call it a day. Tomorrow you need to be present at the construction site at 13:00. You decided to get a good night's sleep to have the energy to argue with Ms.Nova’s husband tomorrow.
The next day.
You woke up somewhere around nine and checked out of the motel to get something to eat. You forgot to eat yesterday and didn’t even realize it, most likely due to lack of sleep. Now you are very, very hungry.
You stopped at the city's most famous restaurant ‘Royal Bliss” and decided that if your boss is paying, then you will eat like a king! Even if you lack certain attire for a place like this, you think that being a human makes you less underprivileged for that. Even without a proper suit.
You went in and asked if they have a free table. The mare at the counter said that they do and immortally booked it up for you. Then one of the stewards stepped out of the room to show you the way. You guess that there is no backing up now.
The steward stopped in the middle of the dining area and pointed his hoof at the table. Everything in the room was filled with gold and jewelry. Table, chairs, walls, ceiling. Everyone in the room was either nobility or proper personnel. And every pair of eyes was directed towards you. But you were too hungry to care.
Most of the dishes in this place were prepared for a pony, but there were options for griffons and other carnivores. You settled for a steak marinated in honey with the addition of mustard and coriander. A little bit of a weird dish if you think about it. But if it tastes good then there is no problem. Normally you would take a breakfast option but you are so hungry and those places only serve small breakfasts anyway.
You are glad you saved some money for the trip because this dish cost one-sixth of your salary. Not your money anyway…
As you waited for your meal you recalled that there is a good chance that the mare you were arguing with, eats in places like this every day. Those nobles are making you gag. How could you ever be comfortable with living like that every day? Sure, a couple of days a year you could dress properly and eat like a true gentleman, but why are their entire lives focused on making a good image of themselves? You caught yourself thinking about trivial matters again. Who care’s how they live their lives. You are living your best right now.
You shifted to the more pleasurable moments of your two-year stay in Equestria. When you first met Twilight. When you discover that the world is not polluted. When you discover that there are low taxes… Oh, that one is a good memory. A core one for sure.
After those two years, you bought a house, made friends with everyone, and experienced true happiness for the first time in your life. There was only one thing you still regret. Not being with someone. You never met anyone interesting or someone that you could say that you loved. Sure there were some shenanigans here and there. But apart from that, there was… Nothing.
You don’t really feel any urges to go looking for ‘special somepony’ as they call it here. But It would be a good idea to at least think about it from time to time. You can live alone in your house, and that in itself would be good for you. But you feel like you are missing something.
“Sir? Your meal?” The Stallion said while gently tapping you on your shoulder which made you jump a little.
“Wah. Oh. Thanks. I sailed a little.” You answered embarrassed.
The stallion simply stared at you clearly waiting for something.
“Oh right! Sorry.” You stopped and searched your bag for some bits. When you found your sack you gave the stallion four bits. His face instantly grew a soft smile.
“Enjoy your meal, good Sir.” He said while leaving you with your steak. Your gaze stopped at the ponies that were eating their meals, they watched as you took your fork into your hands and gently sank it into the steak instantly pouring some sweet nectar to the sides.
“Now this is what I like to see.” You said while focusing on the small portion of meat that you held on the fork. Gently swinging it to your mouth you let off a satisfactory noise. The texture of the meat is perfect, it's both soft and tender. The honey is clearly detectable but not too strong, giving the dish a pleasant aroma and freshness. You munched on the first bite for a good minute before swallowing it. The rest of the dish quickly became history as you started to take bigger bites. After a good meal, you drank some water that the waiter gave you alongside your dish. The clear cold water made you smile as you once again grew delighted. Even the simple water in this restaurant was great.
After finishing your meal you took off again. Quickly realize that there are less than 30 minutes before you meet this ‘husband’ of this mare. It gave you a feeling of annoyance and hopelessness. Well, better to do it now than deal with it later on you thought.
Approaching the site you prepared your work clothing and courage to argue with this mare again. Now crossing the yellow tape you saw three ponies that weren’t here yesterday. Alongside the crew and this bitch. Now which one of those fuckers is her husband.
“Good evening. My name is Anonymous. I’m here to-” You tried to state your intentions but the mare quickly cut you off in the middle.
“Yes, we know why you are here. Now, this is my husband Bright Gauntlet, and those two gentelcolts are from the ministry of construction. They are here to evaluate your work ethic.” Annoying mare explained while cracking a smile.
“Pleasure to meet you. You already know my name. I say that we explain this quickly and get back to the more important stuff. Don’t you think son?” Bright said while pointing his hoof to you.
You shook it and simply nodded. You don’t want to be here either so if they state a good point or something that will be good for you. At least you hope that they make sense, you really want to punch this bitch, but you don’t want to lose your job because of it.
“Great! Now, my wife said that there is a problem with the pool. Can you describe what seems to be the issue? The contract clearly states that only finished jobs are valued.” Bright stated.
“You are clearly using a loophole in the contract. The finished job means every work that took place on the construction site and resulted in modifications to the terrain, buildings, and other aspects of the building schedule.” You stated
“This clearly means that the excavated hole and the materials used to fortify it in the ground need to be paid for. I said that you can still use it as a base for something in the future. But your wife tried to argue that not only do we need to remove the already existing cement there, but to fill the hole again with the dirt.” You continued as the two stallions from the ministry were examining the hole.
“Mr.Anonymous, this hole is clearly not in the proximity of the construction area. Take a look at the flags, the construction ends here, and this part is sticking out of the build limit we settled two months ago.” One of the colts said waving at the flags.
You simply turn around to the crew manager and spot that he was holding a bag of something. Those flags were not here by accident. One was more than fifty meters in the opposite direction of the pool yesterday.
“Oh! That’s our fault! We accidentally went over the area. Haha…” He exclaimed.
Everyone cracked a smile. Everyone except you. You were boiling with rage. Are they making fun of you? This is not only using loopholes in the contract but breaking a law at this point. You instantly regret letting them go with the drinking yesterday. How is this even worth it?!
The company was now forced to fill the hole and pay for the crossing of the construction area. And if your boss would hear about this big contract not paying off, you would be in trouble. But what can you do at this point? Clearly, there is nowhere to go. They have connections with the ministry. Going to the police would not solve anything either, they would send you straight to the ministry again.
Immediately after they saw you with anger all over your face they stepped back. You were still a strange creature to them, but you will not be made fun of. They don’t know what they got themselves into. You will get this job done, even if that’s the last thing you do.
“You can be proud, you won this battle.” You said with dread in your eyes.
The mare who was now standing behind her husband was smiling again as you said that.
“But, I will win the war.” You said while leaving the premises of the construction area.

Chapter III: Life is Life.
[Two months later]
You fucked up... You fucked up badly.
You thought as you took the last things from your office and left the company building. How could this happen to you?
You remember when you first started this fight you were on a good path to winning. But now you lost your job because of it. Sure your boss Spring Stone was practically defending you like a lion, but the ministry revoked your foreman status. So there was nothing she could do. And they insisted that you were not degraded but fired, on some conditions, of course, that Spring was forced to agree on.
She could not leave you without anything so she gave you half a year's worth of salary. You wanted to argue about this but she insisted. She did like you very much but there are things she can’t control even if she tried.
As you left the building you recalled the process nobles took to kill your carrier. They must've spent more money on your case than on this pool you were fighting for. Kinda silly, but in a way you won.
You are sure they had to use most of their influence to guarantee that you lose your job. And on top of that, there is still this unfinished construction going on. You wonder how they are holding on to bits…
‘’All this for one drop of blood…’’ you said to yourself as you left the doorstep of the building.
You came home and unpacked your office stuff. Sat in the kitchen and gathered your thoughts and bits.
Currently, you have enough money to survive a couple of years if you don’t buy anything other than necessities. You could start working again in some other places as well. Maybe find a better job after all.
You feel tired. You gave this company your 120% in those last two months. Maybe you should take a break? Money is not a problem right now so…
‘’Why the hell not?’’ You said to yourself after giving it some thought.
Maybe you should pick a hobby as well? You remember you always loved painting when you were younger. Never picked it up because your family said that you never had any artistic skills and you should just work on more mathematical subjects. You still liked both so there was no problem. But now you can’t work in any logistics department, either construction or any kind of management job.
You decided to buy some art supplies tomorrow and just think about the future slowly. There is time for everything you thought.
Maybe… You could even find someone to live with…
A strange thought… To look for love.
Never in your life have you truly loved someone. Either then your mom of course, but that was a different kind of love. You were in a relationship when you were 16, it was not held very long due to your young age. And you never understood what love truly meant.
Now you think you could say that you feel the need for love. You are now 26 and you assume that with age that feeling will only grow stronger.
You remember someone told you that you never feel at home unless there is someone else you love in it. And that can be true. This house is great. But now it is more like a hotel than a home.
You would love to have somebody to talk to, to cuddle with, to have sex. This world is filled with ponies and other creatures. You are sure that if you search, eventually you will find someone.
But… How do people find love? True love? No one-night stand pals but true lovers.
You should ask someone who knows. Maybe…
Princess Cadence? She would know… But, well she is like two days of travel by train apart from you. And sending a letter does not feel like a good idea. Especially because you met only three times now. And because she is royalty after all…
No one else comes to your mind. Well…
You figure it out.
The next day.
“Twilight can you tell me why you need so many scrolls? I know I said I will help you but… My back is starting to hurt a little.” You said as you walked behind the purple Princess.
She asked you to help when she saw you shopping. Normally she would use Spike but you were closer and she has not seen him today because he had some things to do.
“Oh, come on. My castle is only a little bit down the road. You can make it!” She stated. You glanced that her bags are full of supplies. And she is levitating a lot of bags with her magic as well…
Why does this mare need so many materials for letters and lists? You only have a bag of your supplies and 6 more of hers on top of you.
You finally made it to the castle and dropped everything on the table while grasping for some air.
“Thanks, Anon! You are great!” She said smiling at you.
“No… Problem…” You said between the breaths.
“Why did you need those art supplies? Are you preparing something?” She asked while sorting out the supplies and materials in their correct places on the table.
“I wanted to pick up a hobby, I have more time now since I got fired and-” You tried to explain but before you could she jumped at you.
“You got fired?! You know how hard was for me to convince Spring Stone to give you that position?!” She exclaimed grasping you with her hooves. She instantly realized what she said, and backed up a little.
“What did you say?” You asked.
She stared at you with a half-smile and signed.
“I know this sounds bad but, I only convinced her to give you a pass for a month. If you passed she would keep you, if you failed then she would fire you.” She explained.
“Why would you do that? I thought you agreed for me to look for a job myself without help.” You asked.
“I did. You found your job yourself. I only… Helped you get it.” She said.
“Twilight… I can’t even be mad at you…” You shrugged.
“Sorry… But please tell me. Why did she fire you? She said you are her best stallion in the field.” Twilight asked concerned.
“I got into this mess, and… Well… Ah. Let me start from the beginning. So two months ago…”
You proceeded to explain the situation to her. She was stunned by the actions Nova and Gauntlet took to ensure you lost your job. Of course, Twilight wanted to act and deliver justice but you said that there is no need.
You are happy things turned out this way. You have home, money, and time so there is nothing they can do to you now.
“What are you going to do now? Find a new job?” She asked.
“No. I think… I will actually search for someone.” You said with a slight blush.
“Someone? Who?” She asked again with curiosity.
“I don’t know yet. I just want to you know… Have someone.” You exclaimed with embarrassment.
“You mean?” She gasped. “You mean you want to find your special somepony?! Oh, my sweet Celestia! Anon that is incredible! I wanted to ask you that many times but could never find a good time to do so! This is amazing!”
“Hold your horses, Twi. I don’t want to rush this. I want to find someone to love. But first I need to figure out if I’m able to love a pony, a griffon, or any other creature. You know?” You explained.
“When did you get so open? You never talked about your feeling before…” She asked with a smile.
“I guess… I guess when I looked at that horizon…” You recalled.
“What do you mean?” She asked.
“Long story. Never mind that. I will tell you later.” You said.
“Can I please help you find someone? Please?” She asked with big puppy eyes.
“I guess… You could…” You agreed. Them you and your puppy eyes Twilight…
“Great now tell me-” She immediately levitated a scroll and a quill to herself and started asking questions.
“Twilight, I said. Hold your horses. There is time for everything. Now, today I want to start working on this hobby. What about Friday?” You stopped the purple mare before she got into it.
“I… Alright. Friday. 12:00. Don’t be late!” She said.
“I won’t be. And… Thanks.” You answered.
“No problem Anon. That’s what friends are for.”
Those words will haunt you forever…

Chapter IV: Should I Stay or Should I Go?
You are still wondering why you agreed to talk to Twilight about finding someone you would love. She does not have any experience with this stuff and it sounds silly to be taught by someone who has never been in a relationship themself. You guess she will just make a list and tell you some things she read in the books... You love that predictable part of her.
Wait. Do you consider her a potential partner? She always helped you, and she is a fine-looking mare, but... You feel more about her like a... Sister, or sibling who helps you. Not a lover. She does not strike you with any... Weird feelings... Maybe you are just not attracted by mares at all... Well, you aren’t gay, that’s for sure. But maybe looking at other creatures might prove more... right.
You kept thinking about the topic when you made your way into Twilight’s Castle. You stopped and pressed the doorbell. About ten seconds later Spike opened the door and greeted you.
“Nice to see you Anon. Twilight is in the map room with others.” Spike said while opening the door more to let you in.
“With others?” You asked confused.
“Yeah. You know, Pinkie, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow.” He explained.
“I thought she wanted to talk to me alone...” You said while growing a bit concerned and embarrassed. Talking to one pony is okay, but six...
“You know Twilight. She asked them for help.” Spike finished while opening the door to the map room for you.
Everyone smiled as you entered. If earlier you were blushing, now you were completely red.
“Good to see you, everypony.” You greeted them.
“Hi, Anon!” Pinkie replied, and soon everyone else followed. After everyone was done with greetings Twilight began to point to one empty chair. You made your way around the ponies and sat down looking directly at Twilight.
“Twilight. I gotta say, I thought we would be talking alone. Not to, say I’m not pleased to see you all but...”
Rarity suddenly spoke before Twilight could do so.
“Darling, I know this is a bit embarrassing for you, and we are sorry if we are making you nervous but we all wanted, is to help you. And Twilight was skeptical about us talking with you too, but we thought you could use some more... Experienced ponies.”
“Alright, I understand. Thanks.” You said after shifting a bit in your chair. She is making a good point, Rarity had some experience in that department over the years. But others? You don’t know anything about their relationships.
“So, we thought that making a good starting point is in order. Anon. Please tell us what exactly you want from your special somepony.”
That’s a good question. What do you want?
“I guess... I would like to be with someone who does not care that I’m a human. You know, someone who does not judge a book by its cover.” You exclaimed.
“Um-hm. Go on.” Twilight encouraged you to continue as she noted in her notebook.
“I would like someone with... Well. How to put it... Experience? You know. Like. Someone, who does know what he is doing. Someone a bit older than me maybe?” You tried to explain.
“You are looking for a widow?” Rainbow Dash asked.

“Ah-ah...” Rainbow let out a sound of half understanding.
“What else? Maybe what should she/he look like?” Twilight asked.
“She. She positively. And... I mean... I’m not really sure. You see. I don’t have those feelings when I look at ponies and other creatures. I don’t find them attractive. Good looking yes, but not attractive.” You explained.
“So. Species difference... Tough nut to crack...” Twilight exclaimed.
“You never found any mare attractive? Even in the season?” Rarity asked.
“Season? Ah, you mean heat right? No, I don’ think I ever even got close to any mare... Well, maybe this one time but...” You began thinking back.
“But?” Rarity asked again.
“I... Well... There was this one time. It was two months ago when I visited Canterlot for the anniversary of my coming to Equestria, the same day I missed the party. And well. One thing led to another and I ended up talking to Princess Celestia in her chambers. She agreed to let me watch the horizon because I asked her, and we ended up talking for hours.” You exclaimed.
Everyone in the room became silent as they watched you. Sheer shock in their eyes.
“You, been on a date with Princess Celestia?!” Rarity questioned.
“What!? No. We were just talking.” You replied.
“But. Why in her chambers?!” Twilight asked.
“Because I asked to watch the landscape and she took me to the highest tower, and that was her chambers.” You explained.
“But... Didn’t she had any duties to attend to?” Twilight asked again.
“She said that it does not matter, and her actions are not important, so she decided to take a break and talk with me.” You explained to the purple mare.
“What did you talk about?” Applejack asked curiously.
“I don’t remember. I think... About family and... How I grew up. Why?” you questioned.
“Anon, Darling... How should I put this... You were on a date.” Rarity exclaimed.
“Really? I didn’t feel like date to me... Sure I had fun but...” You started to wonder. Were you on a date with Princess Celestia?
They stopped helping you with finding love and instead started to ask the question about the princess and you. It made you realize that Princess Celestia was more than just a ruler. But there was still one thing to consider...
“Guys... I could not even think of her as a potential partner! She is A RULER of the entire country. I don’t even have a job!” You answered.
“Anon, Darling. You need to ask her out. She might be a ruler, but she is also a mare. And if Twilight is right. She was never in love. Never. As you said, she is both older then you, more experienced and she understands many different creatures. Give it a try.” Rarity suggested.
“Easy to say. I know you want to help but this could ruin me entirely!” You answered
“Like how?” Pinkie curiously said.
“He is scared he will be rejected.” Applejack exclaimed.
“That’s okay Anon. The effort is what matters...” Fluttershy added.
“I’m not scared of being rejected. I’m scared because she could make me a laughing stock for my entire life!” You finally answered.
Everyone started laughing after hearing that. That was both embarrassing and annoying, why are they laughing at you?! We were prepared to leave but Twilight stopped you with her magic.
“Anon, wait. Don’t be mad at us. We weren’t laughing at you!” She explained.
“And what were you laughing then!?” You asked angrily.
“Princess Celestia would never, ever make you feel bad. Believe me.” Twilight explained. ‘’I don’t know if she would accept you, but... I also want to see you both happy. Especially you, after you told me some stories about your past I realized you have never been in a better situation than you are right now. Please think about it.”
Somehow, you knew she is telling the truth. Princess Celestia was kind enough to drop the title when being with you. So there is no chance she would act like a bully. Still. Dating a ruler of the country is exactly the opposite of what you imagined your life would be. You need to think about it, most precisely tonight, with some whiskey. A lot of whiskey...
Later that night.
More you think about it. The crazier it gets. Does this count as bestiality? Do you even have a choice being the only human out there? You always recognized ponies the same as humans. But something about it does not feel right. Like... You can’t really grasp what it would feel like to kiss or have sex with somepony.
You read some documentaries about dolphin trainers going wild with their partners once back on earth. And you thought that it's just inappropriate even if both sites clearly love each other. But does it really count as bestiality? Those ponies are not normal animals... You thought about it for hours now. Getting drunk did not help. In the end, you just fall asleep on your couch and didn’t remember half of what you noted yesterday.
In the morning you decided to search for answers. And it made you realize you need to go to the library. And after searching you found a handful of books about the topics you decided to investigate. Anatomy, psychology, socialization, history, different creatures' behavior. You studied.
Books piled in your house as you brought more and more. You never would even imagine how absurd amounts of information those books held. It also made you realize that ponies are not humans. They are different, they feel different, look different have different socialization, they don’t even think like humans. Part of why does this world have energy but there’s no pollution. Ponies think about what will happen in 10,20,100 years. They have cutie marks that construct the basics of their culture and economy. A pony with a gift for cooking does not go into economy and trading. He leaves it for ponies that specialize in that department.
You spend a couple of days researching those topics. It seemed like even though you had been here two years now, you knew nothing about how their world operates. And if you think about it. You know exactly why.
You never had time. It was always: work/home/sleep and repeat. Now when you have so much free time, there is a simpler answer. This world does not operate the same as yours. It has its own rules and it seems like you used your world rules to adjust yourself. From now on. You should use theirs.
Today you start a new life. For real this time, no more hard work that does not lead anywhere. You will do what you find worth your time. And you will find someone you will love, and it does not matter if that’s a pony or a rock. If it loves you back, you will be happy. And that led you to another conclusion.
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.” - (Norman Vincent Peale) you recalled.
“I’m going to ask the ruler of this country, Princess Celestia. To be my girlfriend! Even if she says no, I will be happy I tried!” You spoke without hesitation. You don’t think she would even be interested in someone like you, but that will boost your confidence anyway. You are doing it purely for gathering more confidence in yourself.
As you decided, you thought about a short plan.
“First, you will ask her if she would be kind enough to visit the gardens with you. Wait... Before that, you will give her something. A gift... Flowers? No. You are already going to the gardens with her... What would she like...” You started to tell your plan out loud.
You remembered her saying she liked cake when you were talking with her that day.
“Okay. Again... First I will go get a cake. A chocolate one. Everyone loves chocolate. Then, I will ask her out. Then, I will compliment her for a good measure. And then I will strike!” You stated before bursting into an evil laugh.
You need to stop drinking so much whiskey...

Chapter V: (I Just) Died In Your Arms.
You are really happy about painting again. Your hobby has made you realize how it can help you understand more about yourself, and help your creativity. So far you made three paintings and they all are horrible. One of your house, the second your one is your self-portrait. And the last one of the Canterlot in the distance from your front porch. It will take you a lot of time and practice to draw something better, but you don’t mind. It can take as much time as it needs to, as long as it makes you happy.
Today is the day though. And you tend to think about other stuff when you travel. Basically, you start daydreaming whenever your body is not moving.
Today you will ask Princess Celestia for a date. Without much of a plan, you bought the ticket and set off to meet her in Canterlot. You don’t even know if she accepts court today. Anyway, it seems like you treat this more like a game than anything. Clearly not realizing what you are about to do.
You still need to buy that chocolate cake for her. You recalled.
Apart from that, it’s a fairly good day so far. You woke up, ate, showered, did some exercise, painted. And went into the station. Currently, you are already on your way to Canterlot, and today it seems like more ponies are traveling as well.
Usually, when you traveled to Canterlot by train, there were less than three, maybe four ponies top. Now entire compartment is filled with many creatures. Not only ponies but also griffons and yaks for some reason. It didn’t matter to you. There are a lot of them in ponyville as well, especially in Twilight school of friendship. Sitting places were slowly beginning to fill up. To the point when only one was left. Exactly on the opposite side of you. Suddenly someone struck you with conversation and your head came back from the clouds.
“Excuse me, is this seat taken?” A white mare with a pink mane asked you.
“Huh?” You focused on her while your thoughts were being interrupted. “No, no, please take it...”
You shifted your gaze onto her. She was a unicorn with a great body shape just like an alicorn. She had three strange markings for cutie marks that looked like lily flowers. She clearly looked like some sort of model or something. She had a white leather bag and fur around her neck. Her four boots were leather as well, but they were black instead of white.
“Pleasure to meet you, I’m Fleur De Lis.” She stated.
Fleur De Lis means France's monarchy right? You remember it from Saints Row. She does look like someone from France... There are a lot of ponies that share some unique names of different things from your world.
“Nice to meet you Fleur De Lis. I’m Anonymous, but you can call me Anon.” you greeted her as well.
“Say, I never saw anyone like you before. And you are this... Human, gossips were talking about a few years prior?” she asked.
“Yes, that’s me.” You answered.
“Well then, what brings you to Canterlot at this time of the year. Or do you depart sooner?” she asked curiously.
“I’m... Well... About to ask someone out actually there.” you answered, she does not need to know who though.
“And who might that be? If you don’t mind answering of course.” She asked again.
“It really does not matter. I’m only doing this to boost my confidence you see. I’m starting a new part of my life and want to support myself by doing this.” you explained.
She simply nodded and looked at you with a small grin.
“That's... Brave, and a little bit weird. But I see that you know what you are doing.” She finally answered.
“What about you?” You asked back wanting to keep the conversation flowing.
“Me? I’m just coming back from my trip, I was in Manehattan to do some photoshoots. I’m a model, by the way, not to brag of course. I hope you don’t see me as some spoiled noble.” She replied. Her face was now without any expression.
“No, by heavens no... No noble would be kind enough to talk to me in the first place.” You answered.
“I see you had some experience with them in the past as well.” She questioned.
“Yeah, you could say I lost my job because of them. But, it’s all good now.” You answered.
“That’s horrible... When I started doing modeling they demanded from me... some awful things, and I fought with them until I made myself a place among the elite. I really like being on top, but never would I do it for hurting myself, or anypony else.” Fleur explained.
“I see you had some fair bit of life after you as well. Were you born noble or did you become one?” You asked curiously.
“I’m not a noble by blood, nor do I have any noble status. But everyone treats me like one anyway. I think that because I have some influence on them as well.” She stated.
You kept talking with Fleur and thought that although she is part of the nobility she is not like most of them. Maybe you should ask her for a date instead?
But before you, even attempt that the train has arrived at Canterlot station. Everyone started to depart from the station and Fleur disappeared somewhere in a second. You guess that is a sign of some kind.
You still need that cake...
“Hey, Glare look who came back. It’s this human again.” Guardsmare said to her partner when she saw you approach.
“No shot!” Glare said back.
“Good evening, Glare. And... Em... Never caught your name...” You tried to remember as you greeted them.
“Sky Shallow. I must say, everyone was impressed by your performance two months ago. I would never imagine Princess Celestia to take you to her chambers, but hey, anything can happen...” She stated.
“What are you planning today? Huh?” Glare asked while leaning into the wall of the gate.
“It’s a surprise. You will love it.” You replied. Clearly, still do not realizing what you are about to do.
“He will not. This time I’m coming. He will stay, I want to see what’s going to happen today.” She stated.
“Not fair...” Glare frowned.
“Shut it or you will be running around the wall for the next month.” She answered.
“Yes ma’am...” Glare signed.
“What do you have in that box? I need to check it before we come into the castle.” She asked.
“Cake, chocolate one. A gift.” Her ears perked up.
“Oh, this will be a good one...” She said quietly to herself.
Finally, after the ‘inspection’ aka, “Do you have a weapon?” “No” you passed the front gates and went into the castle corridor. This time you knew the exact path you need to take to the throne room, but still kept slow movement after your guardmare. The day was passing faster than you realized and it was already after six in the afternoon.
And this was a precise moment when it finally stuck you to what you are about to do. You started sweating while walking past the massive doors on both sides. You started to shake a little as well. Why are you doing this in the first place?
You need to keep yourself together before you faint. Remember, it does not matter, and you won’t be a laughing stock. You are a man. And you are worth every mare in this country. You will ask her to go with you to the gardens and then you will... You will... Say...
“Human. Human!” Skye started to shout at you before you came to a full stop, nearly dropping the box with the cake with you.
“What!?” You replied before meeting her eyes.
“We are here. Wait for me here, understand? Do not go anywhere.” She stated.
“Ye, yeah sure...” You replied.
Skye walked to the giant doors and someone from the other site opened them for her. You quickly got a glimpse of what’s inside. You spotted Princess Celestia and Raven Inkwell, alongside some guards. There were no other ponies in the room apart from them. That is a good sign. But you still need to control yourself.
You decided to meditate for a second. You focused and cleared your mind. Everything went blank and you were left with a single task:
Ask her out.
That’s all you have to do. Nothing more, if she agrees, great. If not, then problem solved. Nothing to lose, everything to gain. Still, you can’t think of a reason why she would accept someone like you as her partner. She is older, wiser, more beautiful, and clearly in a better position than you. She does not need someone like you. This thought made you more relaxed somehow. Knowing that there is nothing to expect made you realize that you are a master of your fate.
The door opened once again and Skye called you to go inside. You swallowed your saliva and moved inside.
As you walked past guards you cleared your mind again. You are Anonymous, master of your own fate. Nothing can scare you, nothing can make you-
You instantly stopped when your eyes met hers. Her face screamed with kindness, but all you could see is your fear reflecting in her eyes. You are scared shit-less. You can’t think, you can’t speak, you can’t walk. You just stood there. With this cake in your hands.
Right! Cake!
“I...” You started but stopped when her ear stood up. That motion was normal for them, but it made you feel scared for some reason.
What the fuck are you doing!? Just tell her something, anything.
“Are you okay Anon?” She asked, with her warm motherly voice.
Fuck, fuck, fuck...
“I... I brought you cake.” You finally replied. When you did, you felt like a hundred-ton ship was lifted from your back.
Immediately you opened the box and showed what was inside. It was a chocolate cake with three layers of dough and a large amount of chocolate layering for each one of the layers. It also had some decorations on top with strawberries alongside the edges.
You watched as Princess Celestia started to eye the offering while opening her mouth and licking it lightly while she was starting to drool a bit. It’s a good sign, right?
She switched her gaze to the Raven who reminded her to close her mouth and soon after she nodded to some sort of agreement. You on the other hand were not sure if you are doing good. No one was saying anything and there was this ominous silence.
“Thank you! You are very kind Anon! I will make sure to enjoy it.” She finally stated before taking the cake from you with her magic and placing it before her.
“It does strike me though. What is the purpose of your visit? If you don’t mind me asking.” She stated before looking at you again.
There it is. Just say it god-dammit!
“I...Wanted to ask you...If...There... I mean...” You stuttered for a while before you stopped and looked into her eyes again.
Now or never.
“I wanted to ask you... Will you be kind enough to go with me to the gardens?” You finally asked, again a big chunk of weight was lifted from your body.
“Gardens? Oh! Last time I didn’t have time to go with you. Sure, let me finish this piece of documents and I meet you there.” She replied.
You did it. Well, not yet. But there was progress. You forgot you were meant to go there with her last time, but Miss Inkwell snatched you before she could.
“Alright... I meet you there then.” You replied, before doing a robotic 180 and going in the direction of the giant doors.
“Oh, and Anon!” You hear Celestia say before you spin right back at her.
“Thanks for the cake!” She thanked you before closing her eyes and smiling at you.
“N-no, problem!” You replied before you quickly made your way out of the throne room. Doors closed after Skye crossed them too.
“So, you are planning on telling her you to love her or something?” Skye asked.
“What!? NO!” You got embarrassed.
“No bucking way... Oh, this will be the next headline for Canterlot Daily, I can see it. ‘Human Anonymous confesses his love for our beloved ruler, gets rejected!’. She stated before she started laughing.
“Fuck you.” You replied blushing.
“Oh... I can’t...” She spoke between one laugh and another.
She might be right though, you really need to ask yourself if you are willing to do this. You kept thinking about consequences and thought that when the worst would happen, you could just travel somewhere. Nothing keeps you here, and it is a whole world to explore.
But... Something tells you, that it's a bit too late to go back now. So... Prepare for the worst, and you never will be hurt.
You keep thinking about what is taking her so long. It has been already one and a half hours. And you start to think you had been left out already. It is already dark and there is no light apart from the lights that shelter the gardens and the various flora, like Night delight.
Your emotions got cooled off and now you are much calmer. There is a still part of you screaming for you to go home, but there is also one that is proud of you. You are weird. You take pleasure from being humiliated. You need to stop drinking so much, it messes with your emotions too much. But you can’t think of living without a glass of whiskey once a week. Choices, choices...
“I’m so sorry that took so long. I’m really, really sorry!” Celestia stated before descending from the air. You didn’t even spot her before and she startled you a bit.
“Don’t worry about it Princ- I mean... Celestia.” You replied with a soft smile. Standing up from the bench you were sitting on.
“I hate when Raven does not allow me to enjoy myself, especially when someone is waiting.” She added.
“I’m just grateful that you managed to come here in the first place.” You replied again.
“Do you want to take a walk? I would love to show you some great patches of flowers, and some sleeping animals too, if we’re lucky.” She proposed.
“I would like that.” You answered before she came a little closer to you. At this range you can clearly see her features more clearly, she has a great body, a long gorgeous mane and she is clearly taller than you. More or less by one-half heads, excluding the horn of course.
It made you a little bit more uptight, but overall, she looked stunning in the night moonlight. You don’t know if you can call her sexy just yet, but she is clearly beautiful. There are times when you think the pony you are talking to is looking attractive, but your mind is not used to this kind of feeling, and it just rejects it.
“This one” She started speaking before pointing her hoof at a yellow patch of flowers ahead. “Is called by some as ‘Road To Nothingness’, because when they are gifted, they are a sign of becoming lost, and are a reminder to stay focused.”
“And those” She pointed at another patch of half black, half white flowers with long leaves on top. “Are called ‘equality flowers’ those flowers should remind you that you are always the same as anypony else. And you should never treat someone else bad because it can happen to you too.”
“Wow, you know so much about them, even if you don’t come here often.” You stated.
She looked at you with a soft smile while holding one of the equality flowers to smell it. “Yes, a shame really. I always keep coming back to the early days, when there was no paperwork and more action outside the palace. Those were the days I could learn about the fauna and flora, and honestly... Everything else, the most.”
You could see her smile growing smaller for a second before she looked at you once again, when she did, the smile came back. It was a weird feeling, but a welcome one.
“I really liked when we talked that one night, I learned so much amazing stuff about you, and your culture. I only wish to repay you somehow.” She stated before coming to a stop right in front of you. Your eyes met and her smile grew once again.
“What do you mean? I should thank you. You know? I would not be here if I haven’t talked to you that day. Thank you.” You stated.
“You make me blush, please don’t be so humble. I say we gave each other something that day. I really think I should express more feelings, just like you stated that day.” She explained.
You made your way alongside Princess Celestia to the end of the garden as she talked. She knew every animal and plant in there, and every time she pointed to something she had some story ready to tell you. It passed so quickly, in good company time is faster than usual. You should ask her now, there will be no chance like this one.
“Celestia, can I ask you something?” You questioned before she gave you an amused look.
“Of course, you can! Did I really never give you a chance to speak up? I’m so sorry! First I’m late, and now I’m just talking about myself...” She accused herself.
“No, no. You were wonderful today! I should thank you for spending time with me today. I just wanted to ask...” You started but hesitated.
“Yes?” She asked looking directly into your eyes. You started shaking again but quickly remembered to stay calm.
“Princess Celestia, I really think spending time with you is great, and I think ending it makes me sad.” You paused and collected your thoughts before continuing. “And, I was wondering if... You would like to spend some more time together...”
She instantly smiled and walked a bit closer to you, it startled you a little. But she stopped and stared at you directly.
“I would love to spend more time with you Anon. You are very kind, and I also like spending time with you.” She stated.
You, on the other hand, didn’t fully grasp it. Is this real? What if it's just a dream? No way you just heard what you heard. You didn’t ask her out as you wanted, but you played it safe instead. You actually made a smart decision for once!
“What would you say about coming to my chambers with me now? We could talk some more, with the cake you brought and some tea?” She asked, the red flag appeared on top of her head as she said that.
WAIT, Now?! You... Is... Is she inviting you... to... have sex with her?! Too soon! Too soon! Red flag! Red Flag!
“I...I...” You didn’t know what to say. “I mean...”
“You don’t need to of course. I was just asking...” She said before making a sad face.
When you saw her eyes drop and her smile weaken, your heart stopped. You can’t refuse this mare.
“S-Sure... W-Why not.” You said while your face grew redder.
“Really?! Oh, that’s great! Let me teleport us then.” She stated with great happiness.
“No WAIT!” Before you could say anything she already teleported you and herself into her room.
Your body felt like being thrown into the washing machine. You hated teleporting, Twilight only teleported you a couple of times over small distances, and every time you would feel extreme pain in your chest and legs. When you arrived in her chamber you fall onto your knees and felt incredible pain in your stomach and heart this time. You clenched your hand into your chest to ease the pain a bit.
“Anon! Are you okay!? What happened?!” You heard her say before she lowered herself to your level.
“Yeah... Just give me a second...” You mumbled before you felt a bit better.
“Did I hurt you!? I’m so sorry! I’m awful!” She stated.
After a second you could feel her tears hit your back, you immediately turned around and saw her cry.
This is the second time you made her cry. You feel more horrible about that fact than about being teleported.
She needed someone to hold her right now. And you don’t care if that’s good or bad, you just can’t see her like that. You stood up, focused on her instead of pain, and hugged her, trying to calm her down.
“It’s okay. I’m okay. You did nothing wrong.” You explained.
“I-I... I’m an awful pony. I let you down today three times!” She stated between the sobs. “I don’t deserve your kindness!”
“You do. It’s alright... I... I love you.” You replied before she stopped sobbing. She turned her head to face you, she stood up, and you backed up, breaking your hug.
“What?” She asked wiping her tears.
“I...I think... I think I love you.” You replied, looking into her big magenta eyes. She stopped crying and looked at you with concern.
“You... Love me?” She asked after a pause.
“I... I do.” You replied with the most serious look you could ever produce.
“Why?” She asked, her eyes growing a bit bigger for some reason. Her wings started to flutter in place a little bit too.
“I...” You started but couldn’t find a good reason. Why? How did you get here? What is the point anymore? You took a long look at her again.
“I don’t know.” You stated. Her gaze broke for a second but after she heard you continue she looked back at you again.
“But... I think it may be because you are kind and beautiful, and you gave me hope, to reach for something out of my reach. To... To touch the stars...” you stated.
She paused, closed her eyes, and opened them again. Looking at you directly. her tears started to flow again, but she didn’t sob, nor she did care that they were there. All of her focus was on you.
“I... I don’t believe you.” She stated looking lost.
“What do you mean?” You asked.
“I... Never... No one ever loved me truly. Why would you love me? We are not even the same species!” She questioned.
“I... I don’t know, but...” You stated before taking a pause. “I know... You can’t lie to yourself. I do love you.”
She paused again.
“You would die before I could. We would be apart for so long... You are much more younger than me! You deserve some young good looking mare, not an old cow like me!”
“That’s true, I would die before you. But I would cherish each moment we would have. And you may be older than me, but you are the most gorgeous mare I ever laid my eyes on.” You explained.
“I...I can’t!” She stated. “I can’t! I have never been in love! I can’t love you!”
Her words somehow broke your heart. You should be prepared to her say something like this. You knew this could happen. Then why, for the love of God, did it hurt so much?
“Why?” You only could ask her that. Now you too started crying as well. And as she spotted that, started to cry even harder as well...
“I don’t want to watch you die, It would break my heart!” She stated between the sobs.
“You lived so long, you watched as your loved ones died before. I don’t understand...” You replied.
She stopped and make a surprised look. You never would say something like that normally. It clearly hurt her.
“I’m sorry. I should’ve not said that...” You said before she could answer.
“No...You are right... I watched them die. And I would not want to watch you die too...” She stated.
“But...” You moved closer to her, looking at her face with your emotionless eyes. “You will... Even if you don’t accept me... I will die. So what’s the point in living apart?”
Your words were cruel, but at the same time... true... Why did you continue this?
She could not hold herself. She sat down and couldn’t say a single word, she just cried and looked at you directly, with her pupils now 1/4 size what they normally were. Indicating that she realized that she was wrong.
She blinked, her pupils now became big again. She looked at the fireplace for a couple of seconds and looked at you back.
“Would you like some wine?” She asked wiping the tears from her face.
She seemed calmer, and at the same time almost at the edge of crying again. It seemed weird to just ask that when you just said you love her, but there was something behind this action.
“I would love some wine...” You replied, wiping your tears as well.
She deliberately switched the tone to think about what just happened. Your mind agreed to that terms because you needed that too.
She stood up and walked to one of the glass cabins that were filled with dishes and alcohol. She grabbed one bottle of red sweet wine and almost dropped it. She catch it before it fell and poured some into the two big glasses. After she filled them she came back to you and pointed the glass in your direction.

“I just…Never got to speak like this in the past, and… I realized that if I don’t take the chances I still have. I will regret that later on.” You spoke as you sat down on the bed, not really thinking about your manners.
“Would you like to talk with me for some time? With every passing minute, I’m more intrigued by your past life.” Celestia asked while lying down on the carpet.
“I would love to. But, don’t you have you know. Princess stuff to do?” You advised the sunny mare.
“To be fair… Nothing that I do lately has any impact whatsoever. So If they really want me to do something then they will come here. I don’t see why a couple of hours without me would make any difference.” You see as Celestia said that she made a cute pout with her face. Her voice seemed different too, a mix of annoyance with boredom.
“Wait. You want to talk for hours?” You asked confused.
“You said you didn’t have anything else planned before dusk comes right? There is still a lot of time until then. Of course, if you don’t want to, that's alright.” She stated before trying to get up.
“No! I mean… I want to. Please let us talk.” As you said that you saw her drop again on the floor, her fur making contact with the carpet and a couple of pillows. Were there pillows before? She must've grabbed them with her magic a second ago.
“Great! I really want to know how you grew up. Can you tell me about your family, friends, and your time in this different dimension?” She started to ask.
I really think that this is going a little too fast. But she is a Princess after all. Maybe she is just bored with all this Princess stuff and just wants to talk for a while.
“Of course. But I want to know about you too. So let us do one question at a time. You will ask me something, then I will ask you something.” You proposed.
“Alright. Then, please tell me about your family.” She stated before correcting herself into one of the bigger pillows.
“I had only my mom. My dad passed away when I was very young, I had no siblings.” You stated to Celestia's surprise.
“Your mother must be a strong woman then. Raising you on her own.” She stated, before giving you a warm smile.
“Yeah, she was.” You simply added.
“Oh, I’m sorry… I didn’t know-” She tried to correct herself before you gave her a quick wave with your hand.
“Don’t worry about it. I’m over it.” You said while looking her directly in the eyes.
“So, I guess it’s my turn. Well then, tell me please how long have you been ruling posies.” You asked. You can already tell that she is older than you by some couple of ye-
“I have been ruling for two thousand one hundred and thirty-seven years now.” She replied with a poker face.
“Celestia, I gave you my answer without any games. Please don’t lie to me.” You said clearly taking this as a joke.
“I’m not playing with you dear human. I’m serious. If you don’t believe me you can ask other ponies, or look them up in the books.” She stated, very seriously.
“Then how are you still alive? You look like you are twenty. It sounds ridiculous.” You say to her.
Celestia blushes and gives you a quick look before speaking again.
“All alicorns are immortal, It is both a blessing and a curse. But… I’m pleased that you think I’m ‘that’ young.” She said while placing a hoof on her face to cover her embarrassment.
“Well then…I’m speechless.” You simply said.
You proceeded to spend hours chatting with the Sun Princess. She asked you about everything she could think of. But in the end, there were more questions than answers. But it was time to move on, at least for now.
She wanted to accompany you to the gardens as well but her assistant Raven Inkwell said that there is a massive pile of documents that need her attention right now. So there’s no way she can do that. She had spent her entire evening with you, so you should be grateful for even that.
Now you found yourself in the middle of the gardens, light escaping the world as the sun settled on the horizon. You watched as the Night Delights bloomed and filled the dark with their glowing leaves and pollen. Reminding you why you love them so much. This flora is so exotic and vibrant that nothing on earth comes close. You kept watching them bloom for some time, deep in the gardens. You took the time to look for other flowers and animals that were here as well. This place is like a jungle, but at the same time like an oasis.
This was nice. But… The evening spent with the princess was even better. You thought. Recalling every question the Princess asked you. And every question you asked her. She is a kind and loving pony. And the best ruler one would ever want. Something about her feels like being with your mother. And at the same time with someone out of your reach at the same time. She is an Alicorn goddess after all.
Finally, you decided to stop on a bench and rethink what to do next. This day kept on going forever and you didn’t have time to think about what to do next.
Then, suddenly it finally hit you.
’Holy shit the train!' you finally remembered.
