At long last the epic finale of Meta Island Arc comes to a close. Can our favorite wise-cracking hero and her friends stop Vargas, and cured the city of Canterlot of meta-virus let's find out.

"What's going on?" Saddle Rager asked as she came around.

"Don't worry, Saddle, everything going to be okay," She looks to see Matterhorn and the others strapped as well.

"Oh, Matterhorn, they got you too huh?" Zapp asked as the rest came around. "And now I remember now after the city got meta-powers, Saddle Rager ran some sciency stuff and long story short, there's a good chance that most of the people have turned into meta-monsters."

"Yeah, I already found out about it," Matterhorn replied. "Let save you the trouble. Not only the people have become monsters, but they're also being controlled by Vargas."

"I know that," Mareveouls said. "That varmint ambushes all of us and why's my head aching."

"Well it's time we caught him off guard," Matterhorn said then freeing all of them but not before alarming the meta-monsters.

"So much for the element of surprise."

"I got knocked out for a bit, only for the entire city to turn into Meta-Monsters?" Radiance exclaimed as she fire a prism bolt at the monsters. "How revolting!"

"Don't judge!" Filli-Second said before speed through three of them. "Maybe in Meta-Monster world, they're considered attractive."

"Define attractive?" Zapp asked as she fired a lightning blast. "There are too many of them, we need to bail!"

"Problem is, here is the same as out there," Matterhorn said. "Vargas' army has taken over the city."

"That right, Matterhorn," They turn to see Vargas. "The whole city is mine! To think Stargazer Shadow couldn't even get a jon this town. And now I'm its ruler!"

"Is that why you transformed everyone into monsters?" Zapp asked. "Because normal people would be out of their damn minds to follow you?"

"Oh, I didn't create them for their minds. I created them for their strength. Destroy them!"

Then out of nowhere, a flyer came right as Vargas and the meta-monsters went to help their master.

"Come on," Monica hurried them. "That decoy will only distract them for a moment."

"Monica? What are you doing here?" Matterhorn asked.

"Saving you, with some Nexus' hologram tech. And no we're cool with each other, Twi."

"Twilight, holy crap, she knows who you are, man a lot can happen when strapped to the table!" Filli-Second said.

"That's not real, fools," Vargas said to them. "Secure the prisoners!"

"Time to go!"

"As well devour the intruders!" As one came right at Monica but she kicks it into the others.

"That's an exit if I heard one," Zapp exclaimed as they jumped out of the building. "And I've heard a lot."

"Don't worry, my pets, the tracer I placed on that gilder should lead us right to them."

...

"Where are we headed?" Matterhorn asked.

"Nexus has an underground lab that hasn't been discovered by the monsters. Starlight's there tending to my dad as well as any other survivors. Your blood cures him, but he is still out ever since."

"I'm sorry, Monica."

"Save it after we saved the city."

"How is he?" Monica asked Starlight as they came in.

"Still not responding," Starlight said as she and Sunset monitored him .

"The cure seems to have worked, but the shock of receiving Matterhorn's radioactive blood was too much for him to function," Sunset explains.

"Will that happen to everyone who gets the cure?" Matterhorn asked.

"Not necessarily, if I can synthesize your blood and remove the dangerous blood cells, it could eliminate the side effects."

"How do we start?"

"Well more of your blood wouldn't hurt. If we're going to make enough cures for the city, the others could be helpful since their blood can be used as well."

"Well then let's get started."

Hours later

"Okay, I've recreated the cure using the synthesized blood and what was left of my serum. Now we can mass produce it without any side effects," Starlight said.

"Now what?" Matterhorn asked.

"Now you rest. I check how the data readings are turning out with Caleb's tests," Then she left her and Monica alone.

"I really am sorry, Monica."

"Why did you keep this from me?" Monica asked her. "You're supposed to be my best friend."

"And your dad's worst enemy. I guess I just felt if you knew, you'd be put in a position to choose, and I think that was fair to you."

"Well I got news for you, Sparkle, you may be telling yourself, but I don't believe it."

"Your right, it wasn't about you, it's about my family, my friends at Nexus, about everyone that's close to me. If my enemies found out my secret, everything that I care about could be destroyed."

"Well, Matterhorn's done a fine job of destroying my life since he arrived so it hasn't made a bit distance whether or I know or not. You even got canned from Nexus High."

"I told you, I had nothing do with that!"

"Even if you didn't, I can't even ask my dad because your blood made him unconscious!"

"My blood is what cured him!" She shouted then heard banging.

"Shit! They found us!"

"Protect your dad, I'll save the cure," Matterhorn then fell on her knees.

"You're in no condition to fight."

"I need time to recover."

"Don't worry," Monica puts on her mask and then turned on her flame sword. "You're not the only one who can defend us."

Then one of the meta monsters engaged with Matterhorn then Starlight kicked one then Sunset, Mareveuols, and Zapp came.

"Great timing guys, we're going to need all the help we need."

"Anyone got any ideas?" Monica asked they ran to the heart of the underground lab as one of them broke through.

"I got one," Fill-Second said before firing a vial of the cure on it returning him to normal. "Eat cure, ugly."

"What was that?" Zapp asked.

"I took half the cure into lab so we could produce it faster."

"Oh my god, I could kiss you right now," Starlight exclaimed.

"Don't flatter yourself," Fill-Second said.

"Let's celebrate yet. Those monsters are going to find another way in," Marevelous said.

"And we need to get the cure out to the whole city," Matterhorn added.

"We may have the cure, but it's only half of what we planned on," Sunset said. "So every shot counts and with injector gun, we're gonna have to find new ways to administer it effectively."

"Then let's get creative," Radiance suggested.

...

"With the cure in most of the gear, we can cure them without getting to close," Matterhorn said. "And with Filli-Second's speed it and Monica using her cure bombs it should be more than enough."

"Let's do this," Zapp exclaimed.

...

"Alright, darlings, time for a makeover," Radiance said as they fired the cure and meta-monsters were turning to normal.

"The cure's working but not making a dent. There are too many of them. We need a faster way to do this."

"What if used the dispersal unit, The Stealth Matterhorn used?" Zapp suggested.

"The one that tried to poison the city?" Starlight implied.

"Not the point, Monica, do you think your dad could help build one to cure the city?" Saddle Rager asked.

"I don't think so, the transfusion has left him incredibly weak. But if he can make one, so can I. I just need to get to my gear at Simon Academy."

"Wait, we have to go back there, that place is crawling with monsters."

"I know a way."

...

"I don't know if you know this, but Simon Academy is at top of the Simon Tech building, not at the top bottom," Mareveouls said as the group walked under the city.

"I know, but what I'm looking for should help get us up there," Monica explained. "My father feard the meta army before it came to hold. He tried to prevent it."

She showed them a hall of Destroyer suits.

"In the event, he couldn't he created something to fight it."

"The Destroyers!" Matterhorn said seeing a whole lot.

"Now we're talking!" Zapp exclaimed. "I spent battling these things from the outside. Sure is going be nice fighting inside the thing."

"We should combine what we left off the cure," Starlight suggested. "So, Monica can load it into the dispersal unit."

"Good idea, anything else we need to do?"

"Yeah, suit up!" Everyone prepped the Destroyers.

"Let's kick some monster's ass!"

"10-4!" Fill-Second said as they took off.

Just above them...

"Where are the bodies of the Power Ponies!?" Vargas asked as the Destroyers came from the ground.

"Top floor. Swimwear. sporting goods, and-- Oh yeah, massive monster beatdown!" Matterhorn shouted. "Set all blasters to stun!"

"Attack!" Vargas orders the meta-monsters to attack.

"Let's see what this puppy can do!" Zapp said as she started to shoot the cure at them turning back to normal.

"Save the cure for the dispersal unit, Zapp," Sunset said. "We'll need every bit of it!"

"This is better than video games!"

"Distract them while heading for the lab!"

"Off of you scoundrels!" Radiance initiated the jet boots on hers that allowed her to escape then Matterhorn fired a monster off from Starlight.

"Thanks!"

"I owe you for saving me earlier."

Then Vargas and three monsters tore right through them.

"Taste feet ugly," Fill-Second ejected from hers and kicked all four on the face.

"Nice going, hope Monica's got the unit ready?" Mareveouls asked.

"I got it, but my tech is down!" Monica said.

"Package secure," Radiance created a bubble shield around it.

"Fly it up here, we'll displease from the roof,"

Just as they took off, Vargas grabbed the unit.

"Nice try, Simon, but you old man failed to stop me and so will you!" He exclaimed then smash it.

"No!"

"Nice plan to use the Destroyers. but even Caleb has a fail-safe for his own creations," Vargas shut down the Destroyers. "Feeling a little heavy in there? Now those suits are nothing but tombs. I have to hand it to Caleb, brilliant things were created here at the Simon Tech building. Sadly, future generations will know it as, the Simon crater!"

His monsters initiated a bomb and a countdown started.

"He's blowing the building!" Saddle Rager said.

"This place has outlasted its uses. Much like the rest of you. Hasta la vista, Matterhorn!" Vargas and his minions left.

"Don't worry I'll have you out in a second!" Matterhorn frees the others.

"No need I can do it myself," Starlight got out and headed to the bomb. "There's gotta be a way to shut Vargas's bomb down. If only Moondancer was here, she can do it faster than any of us."

"I don't think so, it has way too secure. It would take a genius with a lot more time than we have."

"Let me try."

"There's no time, Monica."

"Oh, and you're smarter than the rest of us."

"I'm just saying, if don't we'll be spread all over the... that's it!"

"What's it?"

"If we can't stop this bomb, we can use it to spread the cure around the city."

"Won't the school get destroyed?"

"Not going to happen, I can save the school and the city."

"Guys listen, get these people out of here while I rig the cure."

Matterhorn strapped the remaining cure on the bomb.

"Monica, I could use your help in getting the people to safety."

"And I could really use your help being quiet while disarming this thing!"

"That's everyone."

"Almost everyone. I'll meet you down there."

"I gonna hold you to it," Zapp trusted her as they left.

"I'm almost there," Monica said.

"We've got to go, Monica."

"I can't. I can't lose everything my father worked so hard to build."

"You have to, Monica," Matterhorn grab her and left just as the bomb went off and cure was airborne.

"Why did you stop me?!"

"Because you would've been killed!"

"I could've done it, I could have been the hero this time! But you couldn't stand that, could you? And now it's gone. Everything gone."

"But the cure it's working. We saved the city/"

"No, you saved the city. And you destroyed Simon Academy! Literally wiped my name from the sky!"

"Monica, I---"

"Go away, you got what you wanted!" Monica snapped at her making her leave.

...

"Have to say, I prefer Cantetlot City without Meta-Monsters," Zapp said seeing the cured people.

"We did it, guys," Matterhorn said.

"Where's Monica?" Saddle Rager asked.

"I think he's checking on his dad."

"I tried, dad," Monica said while carrying her dad in the wheelchair. "I could've saved the school, but Matterhorn stopped me."

"Not to worry, we're lucky he destroyed the school and not the entire building," Caleb said.

"But what about Simon Academy My work! Our legacy!"

"There can be no beginnings without endings, daughter. Besides you no longer need the school. You've graduated."

Hours later...

"Weclome to Canterlot City. Population: Eight million people. A whole lot different from eight million monsters. I know Monica is crushed that her school was destroyed. Hopefully, the lives he saved should help balance it out. Because it is things we love in life that are important. It is the people. Twilight thought as she hugs her parents, her brother, and her sister-in-law.
