Matterhorn Season 1

Part two of the Season one finale, from where left Monica came in as Scarlet and free her best friend Twilight from Doctor Mayhem's mind control. What will happen now let's find out...

It was a great day in Canterlot City, as The Masked Matterhorn was flying through the city.

"Woo! It feels good to be back in the right mind again," Matterhorn said. "Hard to believe that Mayhem got me to join the Deadly Six. Especially when own my mom can't even get me to join her book club. Well, guess that's why they call it mind control. I am lucky that Scarlet was there to bail me out. Wouldn't you say?"

"I haven't been able to say anything with you blabbing all the time," Scarlet said while on her glider. "And don't be so formal, Twi, I may be Scarlet, but I'm still your old pal, Monica."

"I know, but the first rule of superheroes, keep the identities a secret, okay?"

"Yeah, since Zapp learned it the hard way, and I'm still learning the works."

"Maybe we are already the best crime-fighting duo ever. I mean we took down, Black Hawk, Destroyer, and Metalhorn. All that's left is Bulldozer and Mayhem. Mayhem will be the toughest to take down. Not to mention fighting Bulldozer is like fighting a freight train."

"Yeah, but they still need to answer for the damage they caused."

"I'm getting a message from Mistress Marevelous that Bulldozer is rampaging uptown and she and Zapp are dealing with it!"

"Then what are we waiting for, let's hit him hard!"

Uptown, Marevelous used her rope on Bulldozer only to get swung across and right into Zapp.

"Damn, the guy doesn't stop," Zapp exclaimed. "You okay?"

"I'm fine, but remember his just an innocent person transformed by Vargas."

"Yeah, never give up on friends no matter how wild they get," Matterhorn and Scarlet joined then.

"What about big? Can you give up if they get too big?" Scarlet asked as they dodged before Bulldozer tried to ram them.

"Not a chance, up for a Double-Thunder takedown?" Zapp asked.

"One of my favorites," Scarlet said as Zapp got on her gilder.

"We'll distract it," Marevelous said.

"Hey, Stoner, I heard you like to dance," Matterhorn danced. "I call it the Bull shuffle."

"Nice. But cool as this!"

Mareveouls and Matterhorn jumped out of the way as Scarlet threw two electro bombs and Zapp fired a thunderbolt at him which shocked him then he collapse.

"Whoa," Scarlet lost her balance a bit.

"You okay, kid?" Zapp asked.

"Yeah, I'm okay, just felt a little queasy, probably just not used to this superhero stuff. Maybe, I should let you guys search for Mayhem."

"Good idea, you need to be in top form if we're going to defeat him. But promise me, you'll see a doctor."

"Sure. Catch you later," Scarlet got on her glider and left.

"Better get going too, we got to school," Zapp and Mistress Marevelous left on a thunderbolt.

"Wait, what!?" Matterhorn asked.

Hours later, Twilight made it to Nexus High.

"I can't believe it! I was late for the first day and now going to be late on the last day before summer vacation," Twilight ran towards Ocellus, Starlight, Silverstream, and Sandbar. "Sorry I was late, everyone."

"Twilight, what kept you?" Moondancer asked.

"I was trying to get here, but the police had sealed off the area because Bulldozer was in the area."

"At least your grades, make it up for your awards," Randall said as one of the faculty members walked to him.

"Randall, there's an intruder in Lab 319."

"319? That's Crawford's old lab."

"I thought that absurd awards ceremony would keep you occupied for at least another hour," Mayhem created a hole in the wall. "No matter, I got what came for."

As Mayhem left, Twilight reached for her phone and call the others.

"Hey, guys, I found Mayhem, at the school and I could use some help," Twilight said as she got into costume.

"Randall, we've gotta get the students inside of the auditorium where it's safe," Sandbar said.

"Never dreamed you'd come crawling back to Nexus High," Matterhorn exclaimed. "Wasn't taking over Simon Academy enough? Or trying to pad your resume?"

Mayhem chucked a security bot at her but dodged it then tried to blast her but instead the head of state was destroyed.

"He did that on purpose!" Randall exclaimed as Sandbar pushed him.

"You know there is a better way, to ahead in life, right? Like stayed my teammate and fought on the side of good."

Matterhorn fired an ice beam at him, but he dodges it, then proceed to blast her.

"Make no mistake, Masked Matterhorn. There are many reasons for my shift toward villainy. But your dopey quips were reason enough to end our partnership," Mayhem jet boosted to her and then punched her.

"That's okay. Because guess what, I've got better friends than you."

"Really, who?'

"Us!" Fill-Second exclaimed she can with a kick to his face, then Radiance fired a prism bolt that stunned him allowing Scarlet to trap him in an energy cage.

"You fools! Your contraption won't hold me forever!" Mayhem exclaimed trying to get out but to no avail.

"Again with the new tech, you're just full of surprises," Fiill-Second said then Scarlet's finger blasted her only to miss her.

"Hey, I didn't mean I want more of them!? What was that about?"

"There's only room for one of us, and it's going to be me," Scarlet draws her sword.

"Monica, what are you doing?" Matterhorn asked her.

"There is no one else! Only Scarlet!"

Scarlet fired lasers at the three forcing them to dodge, then Matterhorn created a grapple and lasso on Scarlet's glider then both collided their punches at each other only knocking her back, then Scarlet fired a clamp at her and trapped at the wall. Then Scarlet charge her wrist blaster.

"Back off, Scarlet!" Fill-Second came right at her with a punch.

"Hang on, Matterhorn, we'll get you out," Starlight and Moondancer tried to free her. "This looks like an electromagnetic link."

"Get out of here before you hurt!"

"No way! If we can cut the current, we should be able to get out," Moondancer replied.

"All of you are protecting a criminal, Masked Matterhorn is a menace," Scarlet fired her laser at Fill-Second and Radiance.

"And when you've come to your senses. You'll join me in bringing her down or be destroyed with her!" She knocked both to the ground and then threw a bomb at Matterhorn and others.

"Girls, get clear!"

"We're almost there!"

"Almost isn't going to cut it, unless I use the bomb's momentum to reserve the trajectory. " Matterhorn thought to herself then was freed by Moondancer.

Matterhorn use her magic and send the bomb right back at her and exploded then she left.

"What in blazes did you do to upset Scarlet?" Radiance asked.

"I have no idea, but I'm going to find out."

At the Simon penthouse, Caleb was watching the news on the fight between Scarlet and Matterhorn his phone rang showing Twilight's number.

"Oh, Twilight."

Oh, uh, hi, Mr. Simon. I'm trying to reach Monica. She wasn't feeling well earlier, so I thought I'd check-in. Can I speak with her?

"Oh, that's nice of you Twilight, but she's been asleep all afternoon. Must need the rest I'll tell him you called."

"Thanks, I got to go."

"Take care."

Much later...

"Monica, are you in here, Twilight just called," Caleb walked into her room.

"Yeah, dad, I'm here," Monica woke up from her bed. "That's odd, I don't remember wearing my Scarlet gear?"

"Because you been busy. Look," Caleb showed her the news moments ago.

"What I don't remember that? Why would do such a thing?"

"I think you're stepping into the light, Monica. Your subconscious must be taking over, turning you into the hero our family and this city need."

"I don't understand."

"Think about it. All those serums you tested on yourself to find my cure, all those trials, who knows what effect it's had on you?"

"But..."

"Just rest, daughter. You should be proud of yourself. You're finally achieving the greatness I've always envisioned for you," Caleb said then rolled out.

Then Matterhorn was outside of her room.

"Twi!" Monica let her in.

"What's going on? I thought we were cool with each other."

"We are. I don't know what happened."

"You attack me and my friends is what happened."

"I know, I saw it on the news, I don't remember any of it. I must've blacked out again."

"Look, if you are still angry about me blowing the school, I get it. But can we talk like normal people?"

"I swear, I've forgiven you! At least I think I have."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"I don't know. Something my dad said. What if deep down, I haven't forgiven you, and my subconscious is acting out?"

"All the more reason to see a doctor."

"No, I'm afraid to. When I was trying to find a cure for my dad, I-- I experimented on myself. I'm not proud of it, but it's what I had to save him. Now I'm not sure what coursing through my veins. And I'm terrified at what I might've done to myself."

"Monica, listen to me, we are two brightest minds in this city. The best way to solve this thing is with a team-up."

"I agree, Twilight. But it can't be with you. It's not safe. You got to get far away as possible."

"I'm your best friend, I just want to help."

"I know, but you can't. Look you told me once that you couldn't share your secret with me because it would put me in danger. Well, now it's my turn."

"For your protection, you've got to stay until I can figure out."

"Find, I give you some space but I hope you'll reconsider it."

Once Twilight left, she came across the Simon Tech Tower...

"I can't help feeling Monica is making a mistake. But why am I surprised? This building is a monument to geniuses who made the wrong choices. David Crawford, Gunther Anderson, and Axel Smithers. If only Monica can learn from them and accept my help. Maybe that's it, maybe friends don't take no for an answer."

As she was flying her Danger Radar went off.

"That's not good."

Then a bomb exploded from behind and send her to the ground.

"I told you I wouldn't rest until you were destroyed, Masked Matterhorn," Scarlet said as flew down to her. "You are a cancer to this city. I intend to take you out!"

Scarlet did a seismic blast that shattered the glass and the shards fall on her.

"No!"

Matterhorn created a magic bubble to make glass shards bounce off.

"Good luck surviving this!" She blew the up bridge.

"Oh, no! The bridge!" Matterhorn got underneath it and lifted it. "Everyone, get out of the bus!"

"The doors won't open, we're trapped!"

"I can't hold much longer! Can't help these people! Can't even help my best friend! Maybe I'm not the hero I thought I was. What I'm saying? I can't stop trying! I have to be the hero that everyone sees in me! I have to be The Masked Matterhorn!"

She used all of her strength to lift part of the bridge then threw it off.

"Matterhorn are you okay?" Mareveouls asked as she came down to her. "There was an explosion nearby and I thought you were in trouble?"

"It was Scarlet again, but she got away."

"No she didn't, she ran into the rest of us, then Fill-Second was able put a tracer on her. My folks always told me that helping out a friend was more important than chasing the bad guy."

"Thanks. You and the others got my back."

"That's what friends do."

"Not always, I hate to say it, but Scarlet is Monica Simon."

"Don't want to be a bad guy, Zapp already figured it out."

"She did?"

"Yeah, her tech might be upgraded but it's still the same gear."

"Turns out all her anger at The Masked Matterhorn may have caused her to snap. But I feel like I need to help him."

"You want me to come along?"

"No, you and the others need to check to make sure that anybody here is okay. Besides if I can't reach him on my own, then I'm not the friend I thought I was."

"I know this place. Last time I was here, Caleb Simon had me trapped right next to Snaptrap," Matterhorn said as she unlocks it. "But if memory serves it was blown to bits."

"Look like Monica's subconscious has been more than fighting," She looked around. "It's also been redecorating."

Then Danger Radar went off making her dodge a dart that exploded.

"I'm surprised you followed me, knowing I'm the one who will bring you down," Scarlet said.

"Monca, we can work this out together."

Matterhorn fired an ice bolt at her only to deflect it.

"Just let me help you!"

"You've got it wrong my friend. You're the one who's going to need help," Scarlet fired lasers blasts at her. "Hogging all of the heroism, taking all the credit for curing Meta-Island."

"Tonight the lies end!"

Scarlet threw a bomb at her that sent her back then grabbed her by the neck.

"What the hell? I must've blacked out again," Monica came in then look up.

"I'm going to find out who you are, and expose your secret to the city!" Scarlet's hand glowed with electricity.

"Find out who l am? You're not Monica!"

Matterhorn froze his eyes and then kicked him off the gilder.

"Who is it, Matterhorn? Who's been framing me?"

"Let's find out," Matterhorn pulled the mask off and it revealed to be Caleb.

"Dad? But why?"

"To fulfill your destiny. I know you can become a hero, Monica. That's why created Simon Academy. To mold you, to encourage you, to turn you into something better."

"That's why you got me suspended from Nexus, isn't it? So you could keep a closer eye on me."

"I couldn't let that fool Randall Mclean destroy my legacy. You needed a true mentor, someone who could create what this city needed. A new hero for the younger generation. But then The Masked Matterhorn showed up. Stole the very job I envisioned for you!"

"And now you're stealing it from me!"

"I knew you didn't have the stomach to kill her, so I decided to do it for you, knowing once she was gone, you could take the credit."

"Like hell, you're doing for me, you're doing for yourself!"

"I'm doing it for the Simon name!" Caleb grabbed her.

"Let her go, Caleb!" Matterhorn came in but Caleb clamp her.

"Once Matterhorn as well the others are gone, the world will know that Scarlet is their savior."

"Dad, no!!!" Monica zapped him from behind than most of the lab started to give in. "What I have done?"

"Quickly, daughter. We can still save ourselves. The Simon legacy must survive!"

"Monica, get me out here!"

"Monica, please. Come with me, I'm your father."

Monica grabbed the sword and her dad up.

"Thank you, now destroy the Matterhorn. Fulfill the Simon Legacy."

Monica engaged the sword and walked straight to her.

"Monica, no. Don't do this!"

Monica struck at her only to free her.

"I can't... I mean I won't."

"Then you've failed me, and deserve what you've wrought!"

The toxic sludge reached the fire and exploded right behind him.

"Dad!"

"Monica look out!"

Matterhorn blasted the debris that came falling on her.

"Monica, I'm so sorry."

"We need to get out, now!"

Monica and Matterhorn left just before the fire was all over the place.

A couple of days later...

"Hey, Monica," Twilight came in with drinks in her hands. "I didn't know if your new schedule left you time to meet at Topanga's. So I got smoothies for you."

"Thanks, Twi," Monica thanked her.

"How are you doing?"

"Fine, I guess. It's just after everything that's happened, I miss my father, and yet in some ways, I feel like never knew him. And now I'm expected to take over his position. It's enough to make a person's head spin."

"Well, speaking scientifically. the best way to fight dizziness is to focus on the thing in front of you."

"Your right, Twi, thanks for being a good friend. I hope the corporate world takes to me as you do."

"Well speak of the devil, Twilight," Randall saw her. "You're finally on time. Too bad the school year's over."

"I'm just here to clean out my locker," Twilight replied.

"Well, I'm glad I caught you. I wanted to tell you how far I think you've come this year."

"Thanks, Randall. It's a bit of a shame that your statue got destroyed."

"Luckily, the workers can fix it while they're putting in the new addition."

"What new addiction?"

"The one of the Masked Matterhorn," Randall said as they unveil the new statue.

"Really, but why?"

"Well, the faculty decided she's done so much for the students of Nexus High that she's practically become our mascot. So why not?"

"What about the others?"

"I told both Celestia and Luna of what we were doing, and they decided to build a statue of the others at their school."

At Canterlot High, most of the students along with Sunset and the others were gathered at the front of the school.

"Students, of our school," Celestia grabbed everyone's attention. "In the long history of our school, they many uncertain things that have transpired over this year, even in our community there are always heroes who are willing to put others before themselves."

"We are proud not in the Masked Matterhorn of doing her job. Zapp, Misstress Marevelous, Radiance, Filli-Second, and Saddle Rager for what they have done at our school we have built this in their honor."

Luna pulled off the tarp and showed a statue of them posing heroically in response to the students clapping.

"Wow, A statue of us, as alter-egos," Rarity exclaimed. "Sorry if you couldn't be a part of it, Sunset."

"No worries, you did a lot to cure the city of the Meta-Virus."
