Blueblood was at his locker in his new school until further notice. He met other ponies his age and they were nice enough but he felt like they judged him for his family's wealth and that they were living in a house known to be haunted.

"I can't believe they bought the fucking burned out shabby structure somepony would call a mansion!"

"I know right! That place is haunted by some bitch filly who died of inhaling smoke." Blueblood felt anger rise up in him! Nightmare was a wonderful creature and hearing what she wished for the most made him feel protective of her in a sense. The mirror he hung in his locker so he could comb his mane he saw Nightmare looking back at him and nodding her head in the negative for him to pick a fight.

"Holy shit! That's her reflection in Blueblood's mirror!" A filly had screamed. The unicorn filly known as Nightmare had levitated a backpack and smacked the screaming filly with it.

"Geez it's not like I haunt your place!" Blueblood had snickered and the principle upon arrival saw no reflection. Blueblood just caught a glimpse of the principle a polished brass button; in it he saw a glint of Nightmare behind him.

Throughout the day Blueblood's classmates were either nice to him and were curious about what it was like in a haunted house....or some bullied him for being such a loner. He didn't give any fucks, he happily whenever it was feasible he'd use his phone camera in the selfie mode and talk to Nightmare. The latter was telling him that the her wish of being able to be in the world of the living was the only wish she had.

Blueblood had been doing research on the old mansion at the Canterlot library and Nightmare had explored the city she once knew. The librarian was curious why he was so into the haunted mansion. Nightmare's parents and siblings had perished in various ways, but her father in his last days had donated a wing to the Canterlot University of Gifted Unicorns and it was lovingly dubbed - "Dream Catcher Wing: Dedicated to my beloved daughter Nightmare"

Back at school that afternoon he found Nightmare at his locker and she told him that she learned after exploring that her father had dedicated a university wing to her. Blueblood shared what he learned; but held back what he knew of her family members deaths or the means of how they passed. He planned to tell her one day he hoped that she'd be able to handle it and that he could when the time came to tell her.
