Rainbow Dash was in Luna's room. "You wanted to see me, Princess Luna?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Yes I did. When I was Nightmare Moon, I believe I had tempted you with something known as the Shadowbolts. The truth of the matter is, long ago they were indeed my version of the Wonderbolts in every sense of the word, with one key difference: I also made sure they had the capabilities to fight if and when needed." Luna said. "It was my way of trying to keep Equestria safe. But as I noticed more and more ponies siding with my sister and her Wonderbolts, it helped spark the situation that created Nightmare Moon in the first place." She added.

"But I doubt the Shadowbolts are still up and running, considering you were gone for a thousand years and all that." Rainbow Dash said.

"They may be no longer running right now, but I am currently looking to renew them once more. My sister has actually considered it a good thing that I am considering it, as she wants her Wonderbolts to have some actual competition since my banishment a thousand years ago." Luna said. "I honestly can't believe she wished for the competition, but I suppose that is her way of showing that she wants me to be as equal to her as possible. I am currently in the process of seeking out ponies I believe will do well together, but rest assured, the ones I seek will be in the initial line up." She added.

"Why do I sense there's a catch?" Rainbow Dash said.

"There will be a series of tests in place to see where everyone will be on the actual roster. The one who becomes captain will be the one who earns the highest score through the tests, with a tiebreaker race scheduled just in case there's a tie." Luna said. "I know I had mentioned you being my captain as Nightmare Moon but--" she started.

"Actually that's fine by me. I prefer to earn things under my own merit. It's not worth it if it's just given to me." Rainbow Dash said. "...That said, I'm not exactly sure about it. Do I have time to think it over?" She asked.

"Oh you have plenty of time. I'm waiting until the month after the Equestria Games will be held this year to hold the tests. All of those I'm calling for a personal meeting will have until the end of the same month as the Equestria games to come to me with their decision." Luna said.

"That works well with me. See you around then." Rainbow Dash said.

Rainbow Dash was on a cloud above Canterlot skies for the time being, more so just contemplating a few things. Suddenly she noticed a Pegasus Stallion coming towards her. "Oh. My. Gosh. It's Soarin of the Wonderbolts!" Rainbow Dash said.

"Fancy seeing you here again Rainbow Dash. I'm willing to bet your here for the same reason I am: Luna wants to create a Shadowbolt unit. And she's offering me a transfer into it." Soarin said. "...And I'll be honest, I'm seriously considering it." He added.

"But your already a Wonderbolt. Why would you want the transfer?" Rainbow Dash said.

"Spitfire may be the team's captain, and we may have a manger, but the Wonderbolts have these three ponies who have the final say in the team and it's roster. We call them the Higher Ups, and trust me when I say they are pure politicians, only giving the greenlight to those in the Wonderbolt Reserves they feel would give the Wonderbolts the highest public viewpoint. And trust me when I say there are some really good fliers in the reserves who I would like on the main team in a heart beat, but each and every time I see them get skipped over for someone whose more favorable in the public eye and doesn't have the absolute best of the best in terms of flying skill. It's honestly gotten to the point where I'm sick and tired of it. I know for a fact Luna would never let that happen as Celestia has no clue about the higher ups." Soarin said.

"...So your saying that my chances of getting into the Wonderbolts are very slim..." Rainbow Dash said.

"I'm saying that you should consider if you want your status as a stunt flier to be about you or if you want it to be about politics. You are after all one of the ones who saved Princess Luna after all, that's already a high public profile. But then there's the fact that you went and saved me and several other Wonderbolts. Not going to lie, that's another huge high public profile on your resume. What I'm trying to get you to understand, is that if you do get on the team, it's going to have everything to do with Politics and nothing to do with your actual skill. And you seem like a mare who prefers skill over politics." Soarin said.

"You've got me there Soarin." Rainbow Dash said. "Now I'm really not sure what to do as Luna's already filled me in on the details." She added.

"If you ask me, you should stick with what you value the most. I do wonder however, if you wouldn't mind actually hanging out with at the Gala? I'm sure I can slip away from the rest of the Wonderbolts for it. The nobles aren't going to give a single bit over a suddenly missing Wonderbolt at the table because they only care for the fame we bring. But I figure your more about the skill." Soarin said.

"Heh...well, if you can manage it, I'll certainly enjoy it." Rainbow Dash noted. "But even if you can't, I think you've given me a lot to think about Soarin. See you around." She added and flew off.

"...Make the right choice Rainbow Dash, the right choice for you." Soarin said.

Meanwhile, Rarity was in the actual castle wondering around aimlessly. "...Oh dear, it appears I am lost." Rarity said to herself.

"Oh Rarity was it?" It was Shining Armor. "Something the problem?" He asked.

"Yes well, I seem to have gotten lost in the castle finding Blueblood's room." Rarity said.

"...Yes, you most certainly have gotten lost. Considering Prince Blueblood's room is on the other side of the castle and I mean that in the literal sense." Shining Armor said. And then Rarity fainted, a couch suddenly being teleported to her. Where on Equestria did she get that couch? Certainly not one of the castle's couches. My sister's new friends sure are strange between having a farmer with a royal guard-like grip, a party planner whose had too much sugar, and from what I've heard about Rarity, a Fashion designer who can teleport a couch to her for whenever she faints. The Royal Guard captain thought to himself.

After being guided by Shining Armor to Prince Blueblood's Room (and recovering from her fainting spell which Shining Armor was pressured into not talking about), Rarity headed right on in.

"Miss Rarity, I see you took your time. Either that or you got lost. But then again, from what I heard it's customary for a mare to be late." Blueblood said.

Oh I'm going to enjoy ripping into this one for Spike. Rarity thought to herself. "So, is there a reason for you to summon me?" Rarity asked.

"Well considering you live in ponyville, I was wondering if by chance, you've come across a particular mare I've been looking for for the past three years." Blueblood said.

"...Seriously? That's why you called me? Twilight was right, you really are a pompus jerk." Rarity said.

"N-now let's not be so hasty..." Blueblood said.

"You think I'm going to listen to you? I saw what you did to Spike all because he stood up for that one unicorn colt. You should be ashamed of yourself for harming a growing youngling, even if he is a dragon. I hope you never find the mare your looking for. Ever. You deserve to be forever alone for what you did to Spike." Rarity said before storming right out of the room.

...If she had stayed, she would've seen Blueblood actually crying in deep shame.
