Author's Note

This chapter takes place in the background of two different episodes; these being "Made in Manehatten" and "Brotherhooves Social". Not only is there not much I can do that could affect either episode, but in the case of "Brotherhooves Social", the only difference would be the absence of Rainbow Dash & Scootaloo with Derpy and her sister getting the trophy over Apple Bloom and Big Mac.

Chapter 66: A Different Kind of Party (Double Background)

"Wow. Didn't think there'd be a lot of hype around the Sisterhooves Social happening this year. Lots of sisters from across Equestria are appearing this year." Button Mash said.

"Yeah. I know Rainbow Dash would've loved to compete, but she's devoted herself to being my mother and not my older sister." Scootaloo said.

"...As much as ah hate to admit it, Rainbow Dash has been doing a really fine job with you Scootaloo. Shadowbolt duties and all." Applejack said.

"Yeah. I just cannot compare to her now." Mane Allgood said.

"Did you and Snap Shutter come to document the event?" Rumble asked.

"Nah. We wanted to cheer on Apple Bloom and Apple Jack." Snap Shutter said.

"Well, me and the rest of the foals want to play more of Button Mash's Pony 64 games; especially that Pony Party 64 game." Scootaloo said. "So it'll be nice for Apple Bloom to have support outside of me and Rainbow Dash." She added.

"Isn't Cream Heart out of town though?" Applejack asked.

"Heh, who do you think is looking after the place in the meantime?" Rainbow Dash asked, holding a house key.

"...Dangnabbit Rainbow. It's like something changed with you the minute you took up Scootaloo as yer foal. I can barely recognize you." Applejack said.

"Look, I get it: I was very ego driven when we first met. But after the Running of the Leaves incident, I realized just how much my ego could get in the way of taking care of Scootaloo. So, I guess you could say our tie for last place that year, really set me straight." Rainbow Dash said.

Mane Allgood's jaw just dropped. S-she only needed the one wakeup call...and she really decided to put forth the effort and then some. She thought to herself. How was she supposed to compete with that?

"I hope you aren't thinking about me not being there Apple Bloom." White Flame said, who was suddenly right next to Apple Bloom.

"Gah!" Apple Bloom said.

"LAND SAKES WHITE FLAME, WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?!" Applejack exclaimed.

"Around..." White Flame said.

"...You know, ever since you lost Carol, you've been getting sneakier." Rainbow Dash said. Then she realized what she just said. "Oh...crap..." She added.

"It-it's fine. I know I should move on, but it's still a little hard." White Flame said.

"I know. I shouldn't have brought it up. I'm sorry." Rainbow Dash said.

Now even Applejack jaw-dropped at that. Th-this is not the same Rainbow Dash ah tied with during the Running of the Leaves incident. Not one bit. The farmer mare thought to herself.

"I said it's fine. I'll just take my mind off by cheering for Apple Bloom and Applejack tomorrow." White Flame said.

Applejack's cutie mark glowed. "...Welp, Twilight must want something." She said before heading off.

The next day, the foals were playing Pony Part 64, with Rainbow Dash, Spike, and Smolder watching.

Before playing, they read the instruction manual, as it was recommended that you read it before you started playing.

This promptly caused them all to jump to page 7 before reading.

There are a few things to know before you begin playing. First off, please note that if your of the competitive sort, it is worth it for you to know that one of the board gimmicks known as Boo can steal stars from other players. If you don't wish for this to be a thing you and your friends do with each other, if there are four of you, form some sort of truce or some sort.

That was exactly what Rumble and Scootaloo did, saying they would only steal stars from the ones that had more then them, and not steal stars while in first place. This rule was implied for all foals.

Additionally, it is not recommended that dragons play this game. We are fully aware of Dragon Greed being a thing good dragons try to avoid, and that can be something difficult to do while playing this game since the goal is to hoard as many coins and stars as possibly. Therefor, if you are a dragon that has gone out of their way to avoid Dragon Greed, we do not recommend that you play this game at all unless your just that good at controlling it.

This promptly made Spike and Smolder bow out of playing, as they didn't want to risk it. Happy to just be with each other as they watched the others played.

Finally, this game contains various amounts of stick rotating mini-games. We have included an option to turn these into button mashers in the Options House as many foals in the home country these games are made have already hurt themselves spinning the control stick like crazy. We do not encourage bodily harm, so please turn this option on otherwise you might find blisters on your hands. We withhold responsibility for your injuries if you ignore this warning.

So the foals decided to do exactly that and then the games began. Eventually, Button Mash proved his expertise in video games by winning their match before Apple Bloom, White Flame, and Big Mac soon arrived with Applejack just before dinner.

"Did you all have fun with the game?" Applejack asked.

"Yeah. We'll have dinner soon." Button Mash said.

"Mind if we join?" White Flame asked.

"Not at all. So, how'd the Sisterhooves Social go?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"No clue. Ah wasn't there for it." Applejack said. "Friendship Problem in Manehatten." She added.

"Can't...unsee...so many questions..." White Flame said.

"Uh...what's wrong with White Flame? I don't think I've ever seen him like this before." Button Mash said.

"How about we tell you over dinner?" Apple Bloom asked.

"No! Please don't! Want to forget...don't wanna remember..." White Flame said.

"Too bad! I wanna know what went down that caused White Flame to act like this." Scootaloo said.

"Oh please no!" White Flame begged.

"Oh please yes!" Rumble said.

"Your going to regret this..." White Flame said.

Meanwhile...

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE WEREN'T MANY PONIES THERE IN THE AUDIENCE?!" Crecent Moon exclaimed. "It's Canterlot. Bucking Canterlot. You should've had a sold out crowd." He added.

"We should have..." Fleetfoot said.

"...But instead, most of the seats were empty." Spitfire said.

"Great...that's just great...well hopefully the next show that's in manehatten will have a much better crowd." Crecent Moon said. Suddenly the phone rung. "Hello?" He asked. "WHAT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE SHOW'S BEEN CANCELLED?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU HIRED SOME OTHER FLIGHT TEAM?! WE'RE THE ONLY ONES I KNOW OF!" Crecent Moon was yelling.

Oh...oh no... Spitfire thought to herself. It...it begins... She added to her thoughts.
