My Little Pony: The Draconic Sister - Reboot

Currently, Twilight was dealing with Zanth, while Starlight was talking with a strange human girl with magical powers.

"Starlight, please...listen to me..." The girl said. "You need to let go of the past. You can still change your future the right way." She added.

Starlight closed her eyes. She thought back. Really back. And with that, the scene began to shift...

It had all started that day when Twilight had revealed the incident that led to her and her friends all getting their cutie marks at the exact same time. Which gave Starlight the thought of stopping the Sonic Rainboom so Twilight and her friends could not ever become friends. All so Twilight would know the pain of how cutie marks can tear friendships apart.

At least that was the plan, but then for some reason, as she thought of it, she experienced something from Twilight's perspective. The various other bad futures it seemed.

The first one that was visited, was unlike any other, instead of Equestria, it was a land where some strange eye creature with a mass of tentacles ruled over what would've been Equestria with pure evil and darkness. Happiness was a distant memory here.

The second one that was visited, was one where some mare named Sunset Shimmer had enslaved the entire world, and she saw an alternate version of herself being forced to do manual labor forever.

The third one, was where Starlight was wishing she could end this vision. Because there, ponies were being hunted by strange cybernetic bees, that sought to turn their world into a cybernetic version of itself and control everything. Those ponies that resisted being captured were brutelly murdered.

And that's where she found the one that Twilight showed her. That future where the mysterious Zanth had turned Equestria into a lad devoid of any hope. It was full of nothing but total despair.

But speaking of Zanth, when he had shown up in that version of Equestria, suddenly, Twilight and Starlight heard chanting of four male voices in unison.

"Tim bul tuo mor ess ma di..." The four male voices chanted. "Tim bul tuo mor ess ma di..." Twilight and Starlight heard as they were suddenly drawn through a purple time portal. "Tim bul tuo mor ess ma di..." the voices continued as the duo was suddenly drawn to a place in the middle of four identical men, with different hairstyles.

"Did you...did you call us here?" Twilight asked one of them.

"We...did...urg..." One of them said before they started to fall. Twilight grabbed the one that spoke.

"Do you have any idea what using that kind of magic could do to you?!" Twilight exclaimed.

"We...don't care...we did it...for our sister..." He said. "Please...you must help her...help her stop Zanth..." The brother managed to get out before he went completely limp.

"What...what happened to them?" Starlight asked.

"They...they expended their life force to summon us here." Twilight said. She looked up towards a stone monument, where Zanth and a young girl could be seen. "Up there!" Twilight went ahead with Starlight not far behind.

"You...you took the form of my boyfriend...and tricked me...I'll never forgive something like that." The girl said.

"Ah Angela...you were so naive. But that's the cost of your hope: It's so naive. Despair will rule all. There is no room for hope in this world. There never was. I should know. I was born here. I was almost convicted here. Back then, if you were convicted of a crime, everyone would turn against you. It is the very definition of despair..." Zanth said. His voice not sounding like it usually would.

This...this must be when Zanth and Gareth were still one and the same... Twilight thought to herself.

"Once I'm done with you, I'll find the Heart of Despair, and use it's infinite power to destroy the universe. Then, I'll remake it in my own image. Where there will be nothing but despair. Because that's all that should exist. No one deserves hope. No one deserves anything. If I can't have hope, then I will make sure I remove hope." Zanth said.

"Stop this. You can still become better than this." Angela said.

"No. Despair is all there is for me. So despair will be all there is once I'm done with everything." Zanth said.

"No! I won't let you." Twilight said before taking flight.

"A new opponent huh? Fine. I was about to get bored anyways." Zanth said.

Zanth would start off by using the same basic spells against Twilight that he used against the CMC back in the true present. However, Twilight; having learned of that battle; knew how to dodge the attacks and was able to outsmart Zanth.

"Your pretty good. But, let's see you handle this." Zanth said, before he suddenly started launching all new kinds of elemental attacks, starting with a combination of Water and Lightning, which made the attack turn out to become much stronger than it would normally as when the bubbles popped, much larger and wider electrical bolts would happen shortly after.

"What the..." Twilight said.

"It's as I feared...Zanth is able to use every part of the mage magic he must've gotten from killing my boyfriend..." The girl, Angela, said as Twilight dodged a combination of Earth and Fire which created some sort of lava attack.

"What was your boyfriend like anyways?" Starlight asked.

Angela smiled a little. "Dependable, a little bit of a clutz sometimes, but he was always there when you needed him." She said. "That is what drove him to the army. He wanted to protect the way of life for all. I...fell in love with him because of that desire we shared, to protect life. Just before he...he went off during his last deployment, I had brought him back to my hometown. It caused some strife with my brothers, coming back after I left them to persue my own dreams of college." Angela said. "I wanted to research more about mage magic. It's another thing Krado and I had in common: Our ability to access Mage Magics. While not the rarest ability in the box, Krado and I...we could do more then just simple spells. While I could embue magic into other things, Krado had the ability to use combo magics like this." Angela said.

"If your magics were so different, why did you fall in love with him? Your not equal." Starlight said.

"What's the point of equalization anyways? I never understood my brother's stance on that." Angela said.

"Wh-what?" Starlight asked.

"My brothers...they wanted to find a way to get rid of mage magics, because they believed it orchestrated those that didn't. They believed that magics separated others. But I never understood it. I even have a few friends from college who don't have mage magics, and I made sure they were never orchestrated for that." Angela said.

"But...but why? Why would you do that? Why would you not want to get rid of your magic for a more even playing field?" Starlight asked.

"Because my magic makes me unique. Just like how my personality makes me unique. If everyone had the same skills, they would grow bored of having those skills. If people had the same personality, they would grow bored of hearing the same personality all the time." Angela said. "Equality...that's a fool's errand. To become truley equal, you'd have to make everyone basically the same. Make their talents the same, their personalities the same, their skills the same..." She added, as she closed in on herself. "I...I can't imagine why anyone would want to do something like that. It just sounds like something that would get boring." Angela said.

"Boring..." Starlight was suddenly questioning her own ideals. Was it really worth it then? To create something that could become boring? Something that would cause others to basically become clones of each other? That was never Starlight's goal, but upon hearing Angela...that's exactly where her ideals would lead to. It didn't matter if that's not what Starlight would want.

And Sunburst...

Suppose she did find him? She did manage to make him a part of her cult? What would happen is she had gone so far as to make sure he was equal too?

No.

No she couldn't do that.

It brought tears to her eyes just to think about it.

"Starlight Glimmer...that's your name, isn't it?" Angela suddenly asked, causing Starlight to pause.

"How...do you know..." Starlight Glimmer said.

"It doesn't matter. And I don't know why your tearing up. Could it be that you were thinking along the lines of my brothers, without you knowing what could come of that thinking? I told this to them, and they had the same tearing reaction. But your thinking is rooted in your past." Angela said.

"Then what I am supposed to do?" Starlight asked.

"Focus on your future. You still have the chance to do what's right." Angela said. Zanth was building up to a big attack. "Starlight, please...listen to me..." Angela said. "You need to let go of the past. You can still change your future the right way." She added.

"...Your right..." Starlight said.

"Good. Then I'll need your help for this next part." Angela said before she started sharing her powers with Starlight Glimmer.

"Whoa!" Starlight felt her magic become the most powerful it's ever been.

"BY THE STARS IN THE SKY, THE ONES THAT SHINE EVEN IN THE DARKNESS...I HEARBY CALL UPON THEIR POWERS TO LEND US YOUR AID. HELP US DEFEAT THE MONSTER KNOWN AS ZANTH!" Angela shouted. "NOW WITNESS THE MOST POWERFUL ATTACK OF ALL TIME...GALACTIC STAR RUSH!" She suddenly shouted.

Without warning, a bunch of magical stars fell from the sky, hitting Zanth where it hurt and hard. They kept bombarding the monster without mercy, without end it seems.

That is until one final giant star fell onto Zanth, seemingly obliverating him. "GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Zanth called out as he vanished.

Twilight noticed something. There! So that's when Gareth must have been freed from Zanth initially...

"Huff..." Angela said. "My brothers...where are they?" She asked.

"They...they sacrificed their lives to bring us here." Twilight said, sad.

"...I see. So much destruction...there is only one way to heal this world..." Angela said. "But you need to head back now." She said. Suddenly, Twilgiht and Starlight were sent back to where the duo would witness the Sonic Rainboom which Starlight would not stop now. "...I know what I must do..." Angela said.

Suddenly, after this event, the duo returned to the proper present.

"One castle of friendship, check." Spike said. The other main 6 ponies soon showed up too. "And one group of friends, check." Spike said.

After much debate, it had been decided that Starlight had learned her lesson. However, for the time being, she was under Twilight's supervision until the mare learned true friendship.

However, elsewhere, Blueblood and Derpy soon found something even more disturbing in the Parish District.

A house with strange pictures in it. Pictures that showed strange beings. When he showed them to Princess Celestia, the princess ordered all ponies living there to evacuate until further notice.

"...How can this be? Carbon dating matches with the rest of the things you found, right?" Princess Celestia asked.

"Yeah. But I've never seen creatures like these before." Prince Blueblood said.

"...Well, Twilight has. As have I. That's how I wanted it to stay. But..." Princess Celestia said.

"But what, aunty?" Prince Blueblood asked.

"If these pictures exist...that could be most devastating to one White Flame." Celestia said.

Meanwhile, present Zanth was looking around places. "Where is it? Where is the Heart of Despair? If I'm going to have any chance of defeating those ponies and their friendship now, I must find it." Zanth said.

But also meanwhile, The Wildman was looking out towards the Crystal Empire.

"So this is where you ended up, your highness..." The Wildman said. "Soon, I shall return the throne to your bloodline, King Thorax. That is the promise I made to your parents." He added.
