Sunset Shimmer: Hero of Canterlot City

A fine day in the city as Solar looked through a hospital window to see Twilight sleeping.

"I can't believe that Twilight got a heart attack all because of me, but thankfully she's doing okay," Solar said. "I wish could've been there sooner, hope you do better in time."

Later at Canterlot High, Sunset was sitting alone in the courtroom, then Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Sprint Streak.

"Sunset, we heard what happened, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I was worried when you didn't pick up?"

"Wait all of you knew?" Sunset asked.

"Yeah, I kinda spill the beans, my bad," Sprint Streak admitted. "We just want to help."

"Help? Help? That's a good one. How exactly do you plan on helping?"

"We're just trying to be your friends," Rainbow implied.

"Well, unless you have an idea other than Pinkie throwing a party, don't bother," Sunset snapped at them then storm off while Aria Blaze watched.

"We don't need friends, we need money, and more than Platinum's would ever fork over but he's not the only game in town," Solar headed to Canterlot Tower.

Once inside she quickly subdued of the bodyguards that grab Gravestone's attention.

"Are you quite through?"

"Sure, Graves. I've proven my point."

"Which is?"

"That I can still take anything you can dish. Which leaves only one question. That job offer still on the table?"

"I still think you'd make an invaluable employee, Solar. But you'll forgive me if I'm suspicious of your sudden change of heart. You need to prove you're prepared to behave. Fight no crime for one week. Don't care if a supervillain endangers public safety, but no ordinary crime. Deal?"

"Deal."

"Great just great, with the ooze gone, I have to drop out of Everton," Barton said then saw Sunset walking. "Hey, Sunset! You cost me my job!"

"Shut it!" Sunset snapped at him and then put him through a wall. "We are tired of your whining. Shove off, Barton, permanently."

After Barton left, Sunset walked along the city then her phone buzzed showing Applejack's number.

"Applejack. What does she want with us now? Well forget it, she and Barton can join the Sunset's such a disappointment dance together."

"They sell tickets to that? Or anyone who thinks you're a jerk attend?" Aria asked.

"Don't push me, Aria, I'm not in the mood."

"Yeah, Twiliy got sick. Heck, even Duke feels bad for you. But not me, if you hang up on the farmer that proves you are still an egghead like Sparkle. A girl who can't even see when her own friends are trying to help."

"Okay. if Aria's making sense something's off. Why did I blow off my friends? Rainbow, AJ, Fluttershy. I would never do that. And what about the battle with Savage Six? The one we slept through? Or the fact we asked Gravestone for a job? Or the fact we keep thinking 'we' instead of 'I'? It's the symbiote. It's changing me. It's taking over my life. I have to get it off!"

Solar headed to Canterlot Clock Tower and once inside she started to pull it off.

Stop, Sunset. Come on. You're overreacting. The suit, the Symbiote, it's made life better. And there's no else we need. Not Rarity, Not Fluttershy...

"Not even, Twilight? Those weren't my thoughts!"

Wait! We need each other. Stop!

"No, move the ooze!" Then Solar back into the bell causing the ooze to react violently. "The bell! The vibrations! You don't like them!"

Solar punched repeatedly then easily took it off.

No, we do not like the vibrations. They're unpleasant. But not enough to destroy our bond.

"Well, see about that," Then Sunset was glued to the wall.

In anger, you sought to hurt us. Instead, you made us stronger, We shall demonstrate.

The symbiote from a cocoon around her then it hardens.

Where am I? What's going on?

In a memory bubble. Sunset saw their class trip to Stables' laboratory where the Stables were showing them multiple power-enhanced experiments where a red geode had somehow jumped into Sunset's pocket.

It's like deja vu all over again. I got to stop it.

How can stop when it all already happened?

In another memory bubble, Sunset saw her past self sleeping in her apartment unaware that the red geode was starting to glowing making Sunset's body different, faster, stronger, and more alarmed than ever.

I'll admit it was awesome that day, I imagine what are the possibilities.

A third memory bubble showed Sunset that her past self made a costume due to the lessons of fashion design from Rarity and entered into a wrestling match as Solar Eclipse with the grand prize of winning a thousand bucks. Then her alter-ego won the match but certain obstacles got in the way.

And that's when I realize, that the wrestling gig was a bust and at that moment I heard something horrible happened. Pinkie's uncle was shot, during a robbery. And made me intervene.

A fourth bubble showed her that Solar Eclipse had cornered the man who killed her best friend's uncle and then got a good look at him. Solar realized the burglar was the same person from the arena the one that she let go.

Why would you blame yourself? We didn't hurt Pinkie's uncle. The world took him away from her and us. The world takes everything we love. There's no one you can trust, Sunset Shimmer. No one except us. Join us. Make our bond permanent. Together nothing can stop us, and everything we ever wanted will be ours.

The demon became her demon self and then tried to merge herself with Sunset before it came in contact, a purple hand came in and stop it.

"Not so fast," Sunset looked up and saw Princess Twilight in her human form.

"Princess Twilight?"

We don't need you anymore, princess.

"Too bad. I'm sticking around," Twilight and Sunset walked away.

Wait, stop.

"Sunset... are you feeling okay?"

Sunset blinked a couple of times, slowly nodding her head. "Twilight can you be honest with me?" she asked quietly.

"Sure."

"If you could do something, and do it better than anyone else, then it wouldn't be wrong to cash in your talents. right?"

"Well, that would depend on what talents we're talking about. But, I went through the exact same thing as you when I came to be a princess. The point is just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. In the words of Ben Parker With great power comes great responsibility.

Pretty words. But what good did they do?

"Just watch and see," Princess Twilight said as she used her magic which a fifth bubble showed Solar recognized the robber from before and hanged him over a window.

Wait. Watch her take her vengeance.

"Part of me wants me to drop you, but I'll learn that revenge isn't the answer because with great power comes great responsibility," Solar said as she gave him to the police.

"And that was just the beginning, from stopping the Dazzlings, saving human counterpart from Equestria Magic, destroying the Memory Stone, and saving people..."

But they ain't denying it, the great work we've done. But how were we repaid? No money, no real friends. None, that is, save us.

"I beg to differ," Twilight counted reminding her of all the friends she made.

"She's right. I'm alone in this," Sunset sternly said. "And I am not giving who I am to become one with the ooze!"

You cannot reject what you already are.

"Let him have it," Twilight said then disappeared.

Both Sunset and Symotie Sunset collided with each other Sunset grabbed the demon by the waist and tossed it into a wall.

"There's more where that came from, last chance to vacate."

Vacate? Where do you think we are?

Demon Sunset submerge her surroundings then large tentacles came out and grab both Sunset's arms and legs.

We have taken root in Sunset Shimmer, mind, body, and soul. Why bother struggling? There's no place you can hide.

"Why would I need to hide," Sunset's body glowed in Equestrian Magic breaking free of Symbiote's hold. "I'm stronger than you think."

"Now mud stain, shall we dance?"

Sunset quickly did two magic blasts and took down most of the tentacles then Demon Sunset rose up and tried to punch her but missed, then Sunset blinded her face then got close and punch her then followed it up with a kick then did blasted with a monster flame blast, to wit caused the cocoon the crack then Sunset broke free.

Don't think this is over, you will be ours!

"Don't think so, Symbiote. I know what you are now, and what you need," Sunset said then punched the bell making it wince in agony allowing her to rip it off. "You feed off negative emotions, so now I'm starving you out."

Stop! Don't do this! We only want to help you, and be with you!

"Sorry, Symbie. I know this must hurt. But we're just no good together, considered yourself dumped."

Later Solar made it to the Stables lab and put the ooze in the containment cell turning the cooling function and making it frozen.

"Sorry, if you lost your job, Barton, because of me, but it's too dangerous to study," Solar said then left unknowing that Barton watch the whole thing.

"Do you know what you've done? You destroyed my last chance!" Barton shouted. "You suppose to be a hero, but she's bad as Sunset. What's worst is that people are blind to what they truly are..."

Then suddenly the ooze broke out and called to him.

"You're alive and you're calling to me," Barton was shocked then opened it allowing the ooze fully wrap him.

Barton, we sense your fury, your hatred. And its taste is sweet. Do you hate the Solar? Do you hate Shimmer?

"Of course I hate them."

Or so you thought, well let's shed some light, some light, Solar Eclipse, and Sunset Shimmer more alike than you think, in fact, they're the same person.

"Same person? That would mean that Sunset is Solar Eclipse! Why didn't see it before? I don't have two enemies. I have one."

We have one enemy. The Eclipse, Shimmer, sought to destroy us too. Bond with us, Barton, mind, body, and soul.

"Yes."

Accpet the gift the Shimmer rejected.

"Yes!"

And together we will have our desire!

"Yes!" The Symbiote merged with Barton having the red and black outlook but with armor having the eclipsed sun. "And together we will have our revenge!"
