TCB - Zero Hour

Prologue

In the Year 2012 a mysterious bubble appeared in the Pacific Ocean. It’s inhabitants, sentient pastel coloured ponies offered humanity a chance to drink a special serum (part magic, part technology), and become a pony in order to emigrate to Equestria. Their Princess Celestia said that the barrier that surrounded Equestria was expanding and that she could not stop it, the barrier would eventually cover the entire earth and that if humanity did not all convert into ponies then they would perish. At first humanity worked with Equestria and established Conversion Bureaus to accommodate the conversion of humans to ponies, but then people began asking questions for which Equestria’s representative Twilight Sparkle had no answers.

The final straw came when Twilight Sparkle insulted humanity on a global news program, after this event relations between Equestria and Earth began to deteriorate. Equestria had already swallowed much of South America by the time that humanity finally declared open war, the combined Air and Naval power of the nations of the world pounded Celestia’s barrier like a drum. Until on 22nd July 2013 the barrier finally fell and the invasion of what the ponies called “the Exponential Lands” began. The war lasted 5 long, bloody months and claimed millions of human lives, but a bigger toll was taken on the Equestrian Royal Guard; of whom 75% were decimated. Eventually Humanity penetrated deep enough into Equestria to threaten Canterlot with Nuclear attack, seeing the impossibility of making a deal with human military leadership Princess Celestia and Princess Luna surrendered unconditionally. The two sisters were taken back to Earth to stand trial for crimes against humanity, they were found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment at a facility specifically designed for the purpose.

After the trial of Celestia and Luna Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armour ascended to the throne, humanity also created a government controlled organisation called the OHR (Office of Human Relations) to ensure that Equestria could never again threaten Earth. The OHR quickly expanded its power, eventually becoming the most powerful human entity in Equestria. It has been 2 years since the human victory and the establishment of the OHR, now Twilight Sparkle has begun a research project into chronicling the war and the events preceding it, unfortunately the OHR are being less than helpful, almost as if they don’t want the truth to come out.
