Life as a Sonic OC Redux

*Sonic's POV*

Zoey was twitching, like she had a bad feeling about something.

Twilight asks "Who put salt in her coffee?"

Dren asks "Zoey?"

Zoey spoke "It’s just… I have a bad feeling about something."

But then a warp ring opened as Rei came out with a serious expression.

Renee spoke "We're all on edge Zoey, plus Celestia had to call another council meeting to discuss the matter at hand."

Rei spoke "Actually, Liu Kang called for you, me, Sonic, Celestia and Princess Peach."

Spike had burped up a letter from Celestia.

Twilight spoke "She can't make it due to being nine months in with twins."

Rei spoke "*Facepalm!* Talk about timing."

Zoey spoke "I’ll come along!"

Rei spoke "Okay, but to make sure that little episode doesn’t happen again, Dren’s coming along."

Danyelle dug out a magic compact that she had gotten one time when she was in the Warrior-verse.

Danyelle spoke "I got this from Warrior-verse Celestia one time in case this universe's Celestia is unable to help out. Solid oricalcum case and moonsilver plate behind sapphire glass, plus it's tough enough to withstand the Knucklehead's punches."

Zoey asks "Wait, you’re calling in another Celestia?"

Danyelle spoke "Yeah, the one we know has foals on the way. Warrior-verse Celestia hasn't had foals yet."

Rei asks "Really?"

A warp ring opens up before a taller version of Danyelle steps out.

OC-verse Danyelle spoke "Please don't freak out but I'm not the Danyelle you know."

Rei asks "*Deadpan* Who said I’d freak out?"

OC-verse Danyelle spoke "For starters, there is an alicorn on the ceiling..."

Starlight was in her Mew form while clinging to the ceiling.

Rei spoke "Mew actually."

OC-verse Danyelle spoke "Fair point."

Starlight spoke "Shut up Rei before I tell Miyuki!"

OC-verse Danyelle spoke "Anywho, since my counterpart still has that Friendship mission, I’ll be filling in for her."

Danyelle spoke "I finished it a while ago furbrain."

OC-Verse Danyelle asks "You serious?"

Danyelle asks "Are you saying I'm stupid?"

OC-verse Danyelle spoke "What? No!"

Danyelle asks "Do I look stupid to you?"

OC-verse Danyelle bursts into laughter.

OC-verse Danyelle spoke "Stupid would be Ein!"

Danyelle laughs "Can't argue with you on that!"

Warrior-verse Danyelle pokes her head out of a portal.

Warrior-verse Danyelle spoke "Golden Ingot is worse."

Rei spoke "*AHEM!*"

All three Danyelles had shut up.

Rei spoke "We gotta meet up with Liu Kang so we can get to Outworld."

OC-verse Danyelle and Warrior-verse Danyelle ask "Who?"

Rei spoke "Long story, but we don’t have the time."

Twilight spoke "I will not lie to you any longer! Equestria... No, the entire universe is in grave danger. But when I look at you all, I don't just see subjects. I see friends, family, counterparts from other universes or timelines... Strong, brave individuals who have stood by each other's side and have never, ever backed down from a fight! Today, we face a danger like none before! As one of your princesses, your friend and as a sister in arms. I ask you to fight one more time! For all of the worlds!"

The combat ready chakats yowl "FOR THE UNIVERSE!!!"

I spoke "FOR OUR FUTURE!!!!"

The Mewtwos all spoke "WE CAN DO THIS!!!"

Spyro and some of the other dragons roar.

Rei spoke "HOLD IT!!!"

Everything froze at that.

Rei spoke "This is exactly why a small group is going to Outworld with Liu Kang, because sending an army will not only make things worse, but possibly terminal."

I spoke "The ones going will be me, Twilight, Tails, Miyuki, Zoey, Dren, Sardon, Bridget, Tarb, Kiki, Danyelle, OC-verse Danyelle as well as my aunt Yuu and Uncle Kita. Orion and Kazuto will be remaining behind with the main army to protect the ones who can't fight. If Shao's army decides to attack Equis, I want the main army as well as other nations to be on the defensive."

The two Mewtwo spoke "Got it."

Rei spoke "That might be too much."

But then Peach showed up as a portal opened with Warrior-Verse Celestia coming out of it.

Rei spoke "Ah, right on time."

I spoke "Rei, have you forgotten who I am? I'm the eldest grandson of Princes Luna for Faust's sake! *noticing Warrior-verse Celestia's confusion* Ah, this universe's Luna that is."

Rei spoke "I know. You were coming along in the first place."

Miyuki spoke "Rei dear...."

Rei asks "Yes, Miyuki?"

Miyuki spoke "Shut up."

Later, my group, Rei, Peach and Warrior-Verse Celestia went to meet up with Liu Kang as OC-verse Danyelle hid in the shadows since Warrior-verse Danyelle chose to stay behind with the evacuation before we used the portal at the Fire Temple, arriving in Outworld with the the two alicorns becoming anthro before encountering Li Mei and her fellow constables.

Li Mei spoke "You and your friends return home, Lord Liu Kang. I am to let no one pass."

Liu Kang spoke "We must see Her Majesty. She must call off her attack on Earthrealm and the other worlds."

Li Mei spoke "Her decision was unwise, but she no longer seeks my council. And I doubt she's interested in any of yours."

Liu Kang spoke "The Empress has been deceived. Shang Tsung and General Shao have fomented this crisis as a means to steal her throne."

Li Mei spoke "General Shao?! I knew he was hiding his true intentions. But join Shang Tsung? *Sigh* I knew he couldn't be trusted. Were I still Umgadi, we never would have breathed the same air as the Empress. My palace sources told me he arrived out of nowhere and immediately had the Empress' ear."

Liu Kang spoke "He gained her trust by treating Princess Mileena's condition. Tragically, she is afflicted with Tarket disease."

Those of us from this universe were shocked by that as Rei didn't seem as surprised while our Danyelle seemed nervous about that, while those not of this universe were confused.

Li Mei spoke "Tarkat?! The Empress must be beside herself. If Shang Tsung found a treatment, no wonder she embraced him."

Liu Kang spoke "I have shared this with no one. I trust that you, of all people, will keep this secret."

Li Mei spoke "Of course. Were it made public, it would being down the royal family."

Liu Kang asks "Li Mei, Empress Sindel needs our help. Will you join us?"

Li Mei spoke "Emperor Jerrod's death, the pain it caused Empress Sindel, has always haunted me. I failed the royal family once. I won't do so again."

I spoke "Equis, Mobius, Cynnth and Zoey's homeworld are also at risk of being invaded if General Shao has his way."

Later, we were being escorted through Sun Do inside a carriage.

Li Mei asks "Everything now makes sense. My Umgadi contacts had said the General's soldiers have been encroaching. But still, I can't fathom it. General Shao committing treason?"

Liu Kang spoke "It is the fruit of a poisonous seed planted by Shang Tsung. He played to the General's vanity, inflamed his prejudices, to convince him that he alone can save Outworld."

Li Mei spoke "He may be unstoppable. The Umgadi don't have numbers and my constables aren't trained for war."

Liu Kang spoke "Know that we, too, will aid in the Empress' defense."

Peach spoke "In case Shao decided to attack Equis, we have an army on standby just in case."

OC-verse Danyelle spoke "Even though I'm not part of the army, I am part of the Alicorn Alliance."

But then we heard the beast rearing as the carriage stopped.

Li Mei spoke "Driver, what is it? *Opens the door, seeing soldiers approach her constables* I may need that aid right now."

We saw Reiko and Motaro show up.

Reiko spoke "Return Liu Kang and his accomplices to the portal gate, Li Mei. They aren't welcome in Outworld."

Li Mei: I won't support the General, Reiko. Nor his plot to usurp the throne."

Reiko spoke "Then you won't live to see the new regime."

Motaro tore off a constable's arms before stomping him down as the soldiers started fighting the constables with Reiko killing a few.

Li Mei spoke "*Closes doors* They have us surrounded."

Liu Kang spoke xI am Earthrealm's Protector, Li Mei. I am no stranger to kombat.x"

Li Mei spoke "Then let's get out there."

Li Mei opened the doors as we came out, fighting the soldiers as Kiki stayed behind with Tarb protecting her. Reiko then confronted me, Yuu and Li Mei.

Reiko spoke "You should've joined us, not the constabulary. We could've used your Umgadi skills."

Li Mei spoke "Enough! I've no use for a traitor's compliments."

"Heh, let's see if you can keep up." I chuckled as the three of us fought Reiko with Tails, Kita and Liu Kang's help as Motaro assisted him before we soon knocked him down.

Li Mei spoke "*As Reiko got back up* I thought Shao's soldiers were better trained."

We then fought Reiko again with our three friends' assistance as Motaro helped the soldier fight us before we later managed to defeat him.

Li Mei spoke "You and your accomplices will face judgement, Reiko."

Reiko, Motaro and all of Shao's soldiers here were arrested and being taken into custody by the constables.

Li Mei spoke "*Walks back towards carriage* We must leave. Reinforcements will be on the way."

We got back in the carriage as Liu Kang closed the doors before the carriage moved again. Later, we arrived at the Hanging Gardens as we walking, trying to find our way to the throne room.

Both Danyelles were on high alert in case enemies appeared.

But then we saw Tanya and Khameleon arrive.

Tanya spoke "Word of their arrival precedes you. Surrender if you wish to remain unharmed."

Li Mei spoke "Let us pass, Tanya. The Empress and her family are in danger. They bring word that Shang Tsung and General Shao plot against them."

Tanya spoke "The General?! Are you so easily taken in by lies? Once again, you prove incapable of protecting the royal house."

Li Mei, Yuu and I then fought Tanya with Liu Kang, Kita and and Tails' help while she was assisted by Khamleon before we soon managed to knock her down.

Li Mei spoke "*As Tanya got back up* We waste precious time, Tanya. Let's finish this."

The three of us fought her again, being helped by Khameleon as Liu Kang, Kita and Tails assisted us before Umgadi managed to get a few good blows on us as we later defeated the two.

Li Mei spoke "I'm sorry you made that necessary."

But then we were surrounded and circled on all sides by Umgadi.

Li Mei spoke "Priestesses... You know who I am. Of my deeds when I was one of you I may no longer be welcome... but my heart is still Umgadi. I will always honor my vows. They are here to end a threat to the Empress. Stand against us and she will lose the throne. Stand with us, and we will save the empire."

Later, we were on our way to the throne room, accompanied by the Umgadi and Tanya as she had her hands tied.

Tanya asks "Why didn't you kill me?"

Li Mei spoke "Because we mean you no harm."

Liu Kang spoke "And that you live will prove that fact to the Empress."

Danyelle spoke "It's enough that the Alicorn Alliance was notified of the danger that Shao was causing so two of their members had to help us out."

Later, we arrived at the throne room, seeing Sindel, Mileena and Kitana on their thrones.

Sindel asks "How dare you, Li Mei! It's not enough that you let Jerrod be murdered? You'd let Liu Kang and his accomplices destroy the rest of my family?"

Li Mei spoke "My heart broke when your husband died. I lost not only my Emperor... but you, my closest friend. I know you may never forgive me... but don't be blinded by anger and grief. We are here to help you."

But then Tanya started choking Li Mei as she elbowed her and broke free while we the rest of us fought the Umgadi as Kitana came down while Sindel stopped Mileena.

Sindel spoke "No, daughter! Your condition."

Li Mei knocked Tanya out as Kitana faced her while Yuu and I backed the constable up.

Kitana asks "Your faithlessness astounds, Li Mei. How can you side with Earthrealm and the other realms against us?!"

Li Mei spoke "I'm acting for your family's benefit... and for Outworld's! If you took a moment, you'd realize it."

The three of us started fighting Kitana as I noticed Li Mei's abilities were more like fire than energy before we soon knocked Kitana down.

Li Mei spoke "*As Kitana got back up* Your Highness, please. You fight the wrong battle."

We then fought Kitana again before we later managed to defeat her.

Li Mei spoke "You must be smarter, Princess."

Sindel spoke "*Stops Mileena again* No, Mileena. I forbid it."

Mileena spoke "I must. If I won't risk my life for the throne, I'm not worthy of it."

Mileena started fighting Li Mei as she managed to knock the constable back.

Li Mei spoke "I remember teaching you that, Princess. You were but a girl."

Mileena scoffs "Hmph! That was long ago. Much has changed."

Li Mei spoke "My loyalty to your family hasn't. Trust me now as you did then."

The two fought again before Li Mei knocked the princess back and down.

Li Mei spoke "Please, Princess. Just listen. We shouldn't fight!"

But then Mileena's eyes were different as her mouth looked sharper before she got up and faced Li Mei before Sindel ran in to stop her.

Sindel spoke "Mileena!"

Mileena then faced Sindel before tackling her, pinning her down before Li Mei pried her off as the princess growled.

Li Mei spoke "*As Yuu and I backed her up* Forgive me, Princess. But I won't allow you to hurt yourself or anyone else."

We then started fighting Mileena as we saw her use dark energy and teleport attacks along while wielding sais before we soon knocked her down.

Li Mei spoke "We must be careful. We cannot harm her."

Yuu spoke "Right."

"Got it." I noted as we fought Mileena again as she used some bite attacks and arm blade attacks on us before we later defeated her.

Li Mei spoke "Tarkat makes victims of us all."

The fighting stopped while Tanya was freed as Sindel helped Mileena sit up while she was rasping before the empress backed off as Tanya used a syringe on the back of Mileena's neck and injected the serum, reverting her back to normal.

Tanya spoke "*Smile* Praise Argus."

Sindel spoke "*Stands up, facing Li Mei* Thank you. I am in your debt."

Li Mei spoke "No, Your Majesty. There can be no debt between friends."

Liu Kang spoke "I am glad she is safe, and that our conflict has ended."

Sindel spoke "It is paused, not ended. Li Mei has earned my goodwill. Whether you or your friends do remains to be seen."

Liu Kang spoke "I seek only peace, Your Majesty."

Warrior-verse Celestia spoke "He is right about that."

Sindel spoke "*Skeptical* Is that why you send minions on secret missions into my empire? You and your accomplices have proved yourselves the enemy I was long warned you lot would be."

Liu Kang spoke "I understand your anger. But I and others had reason to believe that Shang Tsung posed a threat to all of us. Until I confirmed them, I did not want to burden you with my suspicions."

Sindel asks "And now?"

Liu Kang spoke "They have proven true. Shang Tsung... Quan Chi... The General... They conspire to conquer our realms."

Sindel asks "A serious charge. Where is your proof?"

Liu Kang spoke "At Shang Tsung's laboratory. If what you see there does not convince you, I will surrender Earthrealm without a fight.

Whoa, major guts on that bet.

*Zoey's POV*

*Heave!* We were later at what Johnny Cage called the "Flesh Pits" after he and the group returned to us before, and... It was way worse than he described.

Kiki groans "*Vomits* That wasn't because I'm pregnant."

Tarb spoke "I think it was a bad idea to get the Alicorn Alliance involved with our universe's problems."

Dren spoke "Cork it Runt, they chose to help us out. Shao is a major threat to all worlds. Who knows how much damage he could do to the Equians, Mobians, humans, beastmen, Cyniclons and other sentient races."

Sardon spoke "Exactly, we have to stop that madman."

Sindel spoke "*Horrified gasp* How could I have so misjudged them? For Shang Tsung to indulge in such depravity. For General Shao to condone it... They are not the men I thought them."

Liu Kang spoke "Despite my best efforts, neither man, nor Quan Chi, are who they were meant to be."

Sindel spoke "They're not your responsibility. They're Outworlders."

Liu Kang spoke "But it is I who crafted their destinies... along with those of all other beings, at the dawn of history."

Kitana asks "You created the realms? Is... Is your mind addled, demi-god?"

Liu Kang spoke "I am a mere demi-god now. But eons ago I was more powerful than all of the Elder Gods combined. I was a Titan, and the Keeper of Time."

Liu Kang summoned Geras as he appeared from a dust devil.

Liu Kang spoke "This is Geras."

Geras spoke "*Bows in respect* Your Majesty. Your Highnesses.c"

Liu Kang spoke "Geras is one of two guardians of the Hourglass. *As Geras made a sand projection of said artifact* A celestial object which lies beyond the realms, the Hourglass regulates time and destiny. When I wielded its power, it was upon me to craft all of existence. Which I did, alongside Arceus, when I restarted history."

Sindel asks "Re-started?"

Geras spoke "This timeline was preceded by billions more, though this is the first of Liu Kang's design. The others were designed by his predecessor, Kronika. *Shows events from the past timeline* Kronika was obsessed with equalizing good and evil. When a timeline veered too far to one of the other, she would halt it and restart history. Tinkering with lives and events in the hope of achieving her golden balance."

Liu Kang spoke "In prior timelines, Kronika gave Shang Tsung and Quan Chi mastery of the most vile magics. Shao was not a general, but a tyrannical ruler, bent on conquest. You, Sindel, under a mind-corrupting spell, were his ruthless wife, who would do anything to preserve your privilege. When I took the Hourgless from Kronika, I vowed to do better. So in this timeline, the sorcerers would not gain their dark powers. Shao would be your loyal follower... and you would rule Outworld firmly, but fairly."

Geras spoke "But someone has interfered with Liu Kang's design. Shao, Shang Tsung, Quan Chi... all have been groomed by an unknown entity to be the villains they were in previous timelines."

Sindel was definitely at a loss of what was revealed. "Where to begin? Am I to kneel to my creator? Do you expect worship?"

Liu Kang spoke "No, Your Majesty. My prior role was thrust upon me by circumstance. I am in no way divine."

Sindel spoke "You had power over all of existence, yet you gave it up."

Liu Kang spoke "Because I saw how it drove Kronika mad. I knew I would fare no better, had I kept it."

Danyelle spoke "Being one of the Avatars, I know that power can corrupt anyone. Luna, OC-verse Luna and Warrior-verse Luna are three big examples. With great power, comes great responsibility."

Noe spoke "*Pops out of Danyelle's shadow* You got that right."

But then the door was slammed open as General Shao came in, accompanied by Rain, the vampiress and Goro.

Sindel asks "You. How dare you conspire against Outworld?"

General Shao spoke "Not against Outworld, but against your misguided rule. Your deference to him leaves us all vassals."

Sindel spoke "So you sanction these unspeakable horrors? Lie to me about the threats we face? Thanks to you, Earthrealm blood is already on my hands. Blood shed without cause or provocation!"

We were about to attack when...

General Shao spoke "*Brings out a dark glowing amulet* Don't. Move."

The amulet gave me bad feelings all over.

Liu Kang spoke "Empress. Everyone. Stay back!"

Sindel asks "What is it?"

Liu Kang spoke "The Amulet of Shinnok. A weapon of terrifying power."

Geras spoke "It should not exist. Its maker is powerless, as Liu Kang designed."

Liu Kang spoke "Yet more proof of foreign interference."

General Shao spoke "Enough prattle! You'll all both bend a knee to Outworld's new emperor."

Liu Kang spoke "Put down the amulet. Its evil is beyond your control!"

General Shao laughs "Ha ha ha ha ha! Do you think I'd do battle not trained with my weapons? I am more than prepared!"

The amulet suddenly shot out beams as Liu Kang, Sindel some of us dodged, but they hit Geras, Kitana, Mileena, Tanya, both Danyelles and Noe before they were sucked into the amulet, becoming captured as everyone else started fighting the conspirators before Sindel faced the vampiress after getting hit by a claw swipe while Warrior-Verse Celestia and I backed her up.

Sindel spoke "So General Shao casts his lot with Outworld's enemies against me. *As Nitara hissed* He's a fool to ally with you bloodsucking fiends."

The three of us then fought the vampiress as she used aerial attacks and blood magic before we soon knocked her down.

Sindel spoke "*As Nitara got back up* Still you fight on? It is a pointless endeavor."

We then fought the vampiress again as Sindel fought with physical attacks, magic, her hair and banshee-like screams before we later defeated her.

Sindel spoke "You're no better than Shang Tsung's monstrosities."

Liu Kang managed to knock Rain down.

Liu Kang spoke "Tanya, your daughters and our friends. They are not dead, but trapped in the amulet. We can still save them."

General Shao was about to use the amulet again before Li Mei kicked him in the head, making him drop the amulet as Sindel grabbed it.

Tails shouts "Everyone fall back!"

We then started retreating from the Flesh Pits before soldiers charged in as Liu Kang shot red and blue fire, making them back off before Sindel let out a banshee shriek at the ceiling, causing it to crumble as it blocked the soldiers' path, allowing us to escape to Shang Tsung's laboratory.

Reiko spoke "Detain them!"

We arrived as we saw Reiko, Motaro and more soldiers fighting the constables, having escaped arrest as Sindel, Warrior-verse Celestia and I faced Reiko with Li Mei, Peach and Dren backing us up.

Sindel spoke "It's no surprise that you are party to Shao's treason. Know that it will cost you your life."

Reiko spoke "I owe him mine many times over. Sacrificing it in his service would be an honor."

The three of us then started fighting Reiko with Motaro assisting him as Li Mei, Peach and Dren helped us before we soon knocked him down.

Sindel spoke "*As Reiko stood back up* That Shao misled you makes you no less culpable. You will answer for this crime."

We then started fighting Reiko again with our three friends' assistance as Motaro helped him before we later managed to defeat them both.

Sindel spoke "Your rebellion is doomed."

Then General Shao showed up as Rain arrived and shot a blast of water. Li Mei pushed Sindel and took the hit for her, knocking her back as Warrior-Verse Celestia and I helped the empress up.

Sindel spoke "Your betrayal hurts most, Rain. I thought of you as a son."

Rain spoke "I've outgrown you, Empress. Shang Tsung's taught me that I've just scratched the surface of my power. To explore it, I can't be bound by your limits."

The three of us started fighting Rain as he used water and some storm magic before he managed to land some hard blows on us as we soon knocked him down.

Rain spoke "*Getting back up* Shang Tsung's taught me more than you know. It's time I show you."

We then fought Rain again before he soon knocked us down.

Sindel spoke "*As we got back up* You've sacrificed your position and reputation. Neither will you get back."

We then fought Rain one more time as later we managed to defeat him.

Sindel spoke "You are forever dead to me."

General Shao killed two Umgadi as he faced Sindel. "Your reign is over, Sindel!"

Dren and Tarb pulled the two bodies from the battlefield.

Sindel spoke "I remember the weak, sickly boy you were. How your father fought to push you past your infirmities. Now you repay him by spitting on his ideals? Your revolt shreds every value he held dear!"

The three of us started fighting General Shao as he soon managed to deal some big damage to us before we later knocked him down.

Sindel spoke "*As General Shao got back up* You've forsaken both me and the Empire. Your family name will be forever tarnished."

We fought General Shao again we soon managed to beat him.

Sindel spoke "You are relieved, General."

Liu Kang spoke "The amulet, Your Majesty."

Sindel gave Liu Kang the amulet as he then used it, freeing everyone trapped inside as Sindel hugged her daughters with them, hugging her back.

Liu Kang spoke "I hate to disrupt, but we must act quickly to save Earthrealm."

Sindel asks "Is that the command of my creator?"

Liu Kang spoke "No, Your Majesty. It is the request of a friend."

Twilight couldn't help but smile at that as General Shao, Reiko, Motaro, Goro and the rest of his soldiers were arrested and taken away for real this time, despite Rain and the vampiress escaping, now being on the run, but we decided to let them go since General Shao was captured.

Noe spoke "So that's what it was like truly being trapped. *Shudder* I don't like it."

Liu Kang spoke "Do not worry. It won't happen again."

"Come on, let's get back to the others and ready ourselves to get to Ying Fortress." I said as Dren and my friends agreed.

The two fallen Umgadi were given proper burials.
