My Little Ball of Fire & Vengeance

Time passed and I was considering the first of many potential acts of vengeance against that two bit stage magician Trixie.

I was caught between three ideas. My first idea was to throw a bunch of stink bombs from the prank shop. My second idea was the classic bucket of water over a door. The third option was the least legal choice, arson.

I chose not to rule out arson but due to the legality I decided to save that one for a rainy day.

But before I could choose which of the other two options I wanted to go with Cheerilee began today's lesson.

There was something about her expression that told me that she was preparing to surprise the class with something fun, "Good morning, every pony! I hope you brought your thinking caps, because today we're going to learn about physics!"

Scootaloo voiced her displeasure but I could tell that she was going to change her mind very soon.

As the conversation continued Miss Cheerilee began her reveal, "Your going to need it because tomorrow your going to using it for building carts to participate in the Applewood Derby!"

The rest of the class began to cheer and I was left to question what the Applewood Derby was, "From the sound of it you all sound excited for the derby but can some pony please explain to me what we do in this Applewood Derby?"

Miss Cheerilee gave me a friendly smile and began to explain, "There'll be a block of applewood just like this one waiting for you at Sweet Apple Acres tomorrow, and you've got one day to turn it into a race-ready cart."

Some of the students groaned and Miss Cheerilee continued, "Mm-hmm. Luckily, you'll each get to pick an older pony to help you! But choose wisely, because they'll also have to ride in the cart with you during the race."

The moment I heard that we got to choose an adult I immediately had an idea.

An evil idea.

Shortly after class came to an end I walked out of class I asked Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, and Rumble who they were planning to ask to help.

Diamond Tiara sighed and replied dejectedly, "My dad is going to be out of town tomorrow for a business trip so I will have to ask Randolph."

Silver Spoon nodded in understanding and continued, "To bad about your dad but at least Randolph will knows what he's doing. I think that the only pony I have to ask is my older sister Silver Standard. Not that doesn't know her stuff but once she tries to put it together I doubt she will let me anywhere near the tools."

Rumble gave a sarcastic chuckle before speaking with confidence, "Don't worry you're not the only one who has to deal with that kind of stuff. Cloud Chaser is exactly the same, and unfortunately Thunderlane is no good with a hammer. That leaves me with Flitter who is unironically awesome. Only Rainbow Dash could out do her in sudden erratic turns without either losing speed."

Looking back at me Diamond Tiara questioned me, "So since you were asking who will you be asking for help with building the cart for the Applewood Derby?"

While I knew who I had planned to ask I had no idea if they would actually agree to help me so I would have to be careful not to let my idea slip.

With a thoughtful expression I answered, "Well I'm not really sure if I know any pony I could ask for help but I think I have a few ideas.

Either way I have to go see if I can find them so you three can head off without me and I may see you three later.

Ohh and Rumble if you could be a dear and tell either Dinky, Carrot Top, or Derpy that I may be a little late that would be great, thank you."

I then ran off in the direction of the edge of town heading in the direction of the Everfree Forest.

As I did so I briefly considered how funny it would be for me if I brought a fully grown dragon to help me, but I doubted that I would be able to do that and even then I had an even better idea.

Approaching a very particular cottage I happened to know that around this time every Tuesday Fluttershy would be having a tea party with Discord.

Reaching the entrance I knocked on the door rather than open normally it fell forward as the welcome mat spring boarded me inside before reverting to normal.

Rather than landing on the floor I found that I had landed on the ceiling before I heard Fluttershy ask, "Oh my! Sorry about that, I hope you didn't get scared by that entrance. What can I do for you? Ohh and do you want any tea?"

I looked between Fluttershy and the spirit of disharmony and lord of chaos Discord.

One of Discords' eyes suddenly sprouted wings and flow off his head towards me.

Discord examined me quizzically and smiling I began, "Well in class today I was informed that we would be participating in the Applewood Derby and when I learned that we could ask as adult for help, there was only one who came to mind.

So Discord do you want to help me make a cart that follows all the laws of physics. *wink*"

With a questioning expression Discord asked, "Did you just say wink at me? And why did you emphasize all?......

.......

......

.....OHH! I like the way you think."

Looking between us Fluttershy said, "Should I be worried?"
