Chapter 1: Luna Wants To Start Over

Luna and Celestia were sitting in the royal gardens having their afternoon tea as they did now that Luna had been freed from Nightmare Moon it had been a year and she was still depressed about it

“Tia i am sorry” Luna said while earning a look from her sister who just sipped on her tea she then put the cup down

“Luna we have been over this more than once you have nothing to be sorry for it was not your fault we all know this” Celestia said while nuzzling her little sister Luna just kept looking down at the ground

“Sometimes i wish i could start over you know just be reborn relive my life” Luna said while her sister sighed

“Luna how about i raise the moon tonight for you so you can i don’t know go and fly or something to relax something to cheer you up” Celestia said as she put a wing on her Luna while she smiled a little “Now how about you take the day and night off i must study a few things myself” She added while Luna flew off

Celestia was in the royal archives searching for something she was looking in book after book and scroll after scroll trying to find a certain spell “It has to be here somewhere i know it is” Celestia said while searching still she was looking for a spell to help Luna “If i find this then i can

give Luna her wish only if she still wants to relive her life or start over so to speak” Celestia said while she picked up the last scroll in the archives “AHHA i found it” she said reading over the spell and how to cast it Celestia decided to show it to Luna in the morning knowing the younger

alicorn was sleeping she knew this spell would also regress her mind and make her think like foal she also knew she would have to raise her from a foal knowing it would be tough Celestia decided she would do it to make her sister happy

“ Well at any rate i should prepare for this, just in case.” Said Celestia as she left the archive the scroll tucked under her wing.Celestia pondered what all of her subjects would think if Luna suddenly was turned into a foal with no explanation she decided to tell them after it was over Celestia then decided to get a little sleep before raising the sun and lowering the moon
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________The Next Day_______________________________

“So Luna did your night off help you sort out your thoughts?” Asked Celestia as they ate breakfast together; she summoned the scroll to her while still keeping it hidden, while she waited for Luna to answer

“Yeah, a bit.” Sighed Luna as she picked at her food.Not bothering to look at her sister

“And?” Asked Celestia noticing her sister’s remorse attitude.

“I still think I want to start over.” Replied Luna not really wanting to talk

“Well what would you say if I told you there might be a way for you to do that?” Asked Celestia

“What do you mean Celestia? What’s done is done, and there’s no way to change it, look i’m sorry but I really don’t want to talk right now, I just want to eat and then do what i have to do.” Said Luna starting off hostile but then cooling off when she realized she had snapped.

“But that’s just it Luna, It doesn’t have to be done.” Said Celestia pulling out the scroll and showing it to Luna.

“What is it?” Asked Luna slightly curious as to what the aged scroll was.

“It’s an age regression spell, with this i could turn you back into a foal totally and completely. You could start over and erase Nightmare’s actions out of your mind forever once you grew up again, but i need to know before i use this, are you truly ready to give up absolutely everything and start life over anew?”

“Wait i could Tia is this some kind of sick twisted prank?” Luna asked curiously while Celestia sighed

“”No Luna it is not but there's one thing you should know about this spell” Celestia said making the seriousness known

“ Well can i read it for myself?” Asked Luna holding out her hoof

“Feel free but i want you to know something about this spell” Celestia said levitating the scroll to Luna

“What is it?” Asked Luna nervously

“Once the spell is performed there is not turning back it is not reversible” Celestia said looking at her sister

“There’s nothing in this life for me now, not with everypony scared of me thinking i’m Nightmare moon with this once i’m an adult again no one will even remember Nightmare moon, if you take the right path.” Luna said

“Not all ponies think that Luna and you know for a fact that Twilight Sparkle does not think that nor do her friends” Celestia said while looking at Luna

“A handful of Ponies against millions of others who don’t.” Sniffed Luna as she started to become more depressed.

“Well Luna i know for a fact that ponies don’t think that and even after this ponies will know the legend of Nightmare Moon and how the elements freed you from her” Celestia said hugging Luna.

“You’ve destroyed legends before so i know you can fix it so no one knows about it, i mean i understand why you kept it while i was gone, you didn’t know that ponies would fear me if i returned, and you needed something to give you hope that we’d see each other again, but this time you know i’ll be back, it might be longer this time, but i’ll grow up and when i do i’ll be the little sister i used to be before Nightmare Moon and haunted by her actions.” Explained Luna as she wrapped her hooves around Celestia.

“It’s just i want you to be one hundred percent sure about it. i mean there’s no way back, and it’s a complete transformation. You’ll lose your mind and everything that’s made you, you, and it’s just that i’ll miss you as you grow back up.” Sighed Celestia as she let go of Luna.

“I know Tia i am a little scared myself but i can’t keep this up i am hated by everypony” Luna said with sadness dripping off her voice

“ Well i’m your big sister and i’m supposed to take care of you, and if you can’t go on like this anymore then who am i to stop you.”Celestia said while looking at Luna

“I know so when do you plan on performing the spell” Luna asked

“Can i have a few more hours, It’s not going to be easy for me to say goodbye to you for over a thousand years again.” Asked Celestia tearing up a little

“Tia it won’t be a thousand years you know that just until i can speak again and normally” Luna said while giggling

“You’re right but still. I’m going to miss having you to talk to little sister.”

“I know that but i want to start over you know a fresh start” Luna said while tension filled the air

“So now?” Asked Celestia

“No not yet i am not ready maybe in a few hours like you wanted so that way we can spend a little more time together” Luna said while a knot grew in her stomach

“Ok i am not looking forward to turning you into a foal though i must admit.” Replied Celestia happy for the remaining time

“So what do you want to do until you know” Luna asked her sister

“I’m not sure, but we should make the most of it.” Said Celestia

“Yes we should but Tia does it say how old it will turn me that is the one thing i want to know” Luna said

“It says that it will regress the victim to the mental state and size of somepony the age of three months.” Answered Celestia rereading the scroll again.

“Wow that is pretty young” Luna exclaimed

“Having second thoughts?” Asked Celestia a little hope in her voice.

“Nope i was just saying that is young” Luna added

“Oh.” Said Celestia

“You know what we haven’t done since i left?” Asked Luna

“What’s that?” Asked Celestia curiously.

“Horn fencing, we use to do it all the time before, well you know.” Said Luna

“I am not sure about that after that last time Luna so the answer is no” Celestia said in a matter of facility

“Ok.” Said Luna a little disappointed, but she wanted something that both of them wanted to do, so she relented.

“Well we could go in the garden’s seeing as you won’t be able to do that on your own for a while”Celestia said

“Sure that sounds nice, smell the flowers once more, before i don’t know what they are anymore.” Replied Luna

“Well good thing i told the servants to go ahead and start making you a new room” Celestia said “And you won’t know much about well anything” she said with a giggle

“For someone who doesn’t want this you sure prepared for it.” Said Luna

“I had to be just in case your answer was yes” Celestia said while ruffling Luna’s mane.

“Tia, can i ask you for one thing though?” Asked Luna looking up at the sky.

“Yes you sure can” Celestia said

“Take good care of my moon while i’m gone.” Asked Luna sadly

“I did for the thousand years that you were there didn’t it?” Celestia said with a bright smile

“Yes i guess you did.” Said Luna smiling a little too. It was then that the two Alicorns reached the statue of Discord, and they sat down on one of the benches.

“So Luna have you thought about what you plan on doing when you turn a age when you can practice magic?” Asked Celestia

“Not really sure, but i’ll probably want to try the moon first.” Said Luna picking one of the roses growing from the bush.

“Oh i remember the first time you tried raising the moon you almost dropped it out of orbit” Celestia giggled at the memory.

“Really?” Laughed Luna as the two of them cuddled a little closer together. “rosa berberifolia.” She said crushing the rose and dropping it in the water.

“Oh how i am going to truly miss spending time with you Luna” Celestia said to her knowing that she had to turn Luna sooner or later

“Yeah i’ll miss you too.” Replied Luna as she stared into the stony eyes of Discord. “Our greatest victory, and i won’t even remember it.” Sighed Luna

“I’ll teach you about it, i promise.” Said Celestia as she knew the time was drawing near. ”Luna how about you lower the sun and raise the moon this time” She suggested

“Yeah one last show of my power, before i have to learn it again.” Giggled Luna as they left for the grand balcony

“There is a footnote on the on this spell it will allow you to keep your cutie mark so that way you will know something and you will still be able to raise the moon” Celestia said hugging her little sister

“Well that’s a relief at least i won’t run around like those three little fillies in Ponyville, What did Twilight call them again?” Giggled Luna

“Ah yes the cutie mark crusaders some of the ways they have tried to earn their cutie marks are just crazy and trust me they are just plain crazy” Giggles Celestia as Luna’s horn began to glow as she started to set the sun and raise the moon.

“Well i’m just glad i won’t be a headache like them.” Said Luna as she landed and followed Celestia back into the foyer.

“Well Luna are you ready” Celestia asked knowing the time have finally drawn to a close.

“Yes, no point staying any longer.” Replied Luna hugging her sister goodbye.

“Oh and when you say your first name it better be mine and not celly” Celestia giggled as she hugged her sister even tighter

“I’ll try my best.” Promised Luna as she let go of Celestia and brushed her horn against her’s

“Well then let’s get started.” Said Celestia as Luna walked to the distance indicated by the scroll.

Celestia then began to cast her spell, and as her horn’s aura grew brighter the haze around Luna grew thicker. Finally the spell has reached it’s climax and Celestia finished the spell. “Goodbye Luna.” She Said before a small navy blue foal was visible through the smoke, once the smoke had cleared Celestia saw that Luna was asleep on the ground she then picked the foal up carrying her to the newly set up nursery Celestia then put a diaper on Luna putting her in the crib and walked out of the room.

“So much to do, so little time.” sighed Celestia as she began paperwork to have some of the places in the castle foal proofed “I’ll have to let Cadance know about this.”

Celestia had awoke to the sound of crying the crying of a foal she sighed and walked into Luna’s nursery picking the foal up rocking her gently. She then slowly stopped crying and looked up at Celestia’s face.

“So innocent the eyes of the young.” Sighed Celestia as she stared back into Luna’s eyes which held not a trace of the little sister that Celestia had grown up with, lost, regained, and now had lost again, to demons that not even she could stop. “ They would have killed you. We made the right choice didn’t we, Luna.” Said Celestia as the foal simply babbled a little and stuck her hoof in her mouth as she drifted back to sleep.
