Ragnarok: Terrible Discoveries

As they returned to the surface Kratos insisted that the Draupnir Spear be blessed, and he got Brok to do it since the Lady of the Forge didn't deem the spear worthy of her blessing, unlike how she gave one to Flurry's new weapon, where Brok did his best for the weapon, going for 'may it strike true, wielded with wisdom, and may it be put down when it's job was done'. Flurry knew that her father had used Brok's earlier statement against him, as in the 'nature of the thing was more than the form of a thing', showing that he understood what the dwarf had said and was showing him that he valued Brok's blessing, just like he valued his friendship. With that done the bell returned to the surface and they found some grim wandering around the area, like they were looking for the ones that had killed the other grim, though this was a good chance for them to test their new weapons out. Kratos found that the Draupnir Spear was exactly like what he used when he was a Spartan, back before he became the God of War and before he was gifted the Blades of Chaos, which was another reason why the Lady went with the Spartan symbol, as this allowed him to use the training he had gone through a lifetime ago.

Not only was it a return to form, allowing him to be the Spartan he had been a lifetime ago, yet the interesting thing was that he could make multiple spears and use them in rapid succession, as the core was in the ring he was now wearing and from what he could see turning the ring into a weapon allowed him to utilize it's replicating ability. He could stab and impale one of the grim before summoning another spear to attack another foe, or he could hurl a few into the same foe, piercing their body multiple times before he activated the weapon's other power, as he could tab the bottom of a spear on the ground and it would detonate all of the others with a small blast. It was an amazing weapon, that much Kratos could see, and he was already thinking of new ways to use it in combat, along with how useful it might be in tearing Heimdall down if they had to fight him, since they were unsure if the keeper of Gjallarhorn would be smart or do something stupid. While he did that Brok asked how the spear was holding up, where Kratos told him that it was great and that it would serve him well in the days to come, which caused the dwarf to smile as he made sure the weapon was put through her paces, just to make sure it was up to par with the other weapons Kratos carried.

They also discovered that the new weapon could interact with the odd windy bits they had seen in the past, allowing Kratos to form new places for his hands to rest or even ledges to grab onto, allowing them to climb out of the area the lake was in and use another tunnel to reach a brand new portion of the entire area.

It was there that they found more grim and nightmares, not even a surprise at this point, though as Kratos continued to use the Draupnir Spear, as he agreed with Brok about testing the weapon out, Flurry stepped forward and shifted her stance as she rested her hand on the katana's handle. While her father was focused on the spear, and recalling how to use it, Tyr had shown her how to use the weapon by displaying the movements with his magic version of the weapon, where he found that she was a fast learner, as she knew the motions from the other weapons and adapted to a new style with ease. With that in mind she drew the blade and slashed through her foe with one swift motion, arms flying as Kratos and the others found that she had weaved her way through her targets, almost like she was water itself, all while Tyr smiled, as he was pleased to see that she was doing well. She also tracked down the nests of the nightmares and slashed her way through them with her new weapon, finding that it's blade was sharp and that it retained it's edge after dealing with her targets, and together both she and her father tore their way through the rest of their enemies, showing Brok that the weapons were just fine.

As they cleared out the rest of their enemies, however, Kratos also discovered another use for the spear, as he could hit the windy areas and blast apart whatever happened to be in his way, which was an interesting discovery to make, especially since it opened ways for them to get at other chests, which Pandora looted and delivered the goods to Flurry. While she and her father fought their enemies, however, Flurry tucked in her wings with her magic as she spun around, quickly removing the heads of the grim that came at her, where she made sure to try different attacks that Tyr wanted her to try out, and he was happy to see her utilize new moves against their enemies. Pandora also found an item that went to the spear, just like all of the other components they had found for the Leviathan Axe and the Blades of Chaos, causing Brok to nod as he quickly confirmed that such a thing had been in mind when he and Sindri started the design for the new weapon. Such a thing made it easy for them to confirm that the brothers had been thinking about a new weapon for a long time, no doubt after finishing the Leviathan Axe and giving it to Faye, and Kratos was happy to do everything in his power to make sure the weapon was put to good use.

Following that they found an ogre wrecking some grim, to which Flurry rushed forward and lashed out at the ogre, slashing at it's arms and legs while avoiding it's attacks, before landing on it's shoulder to propel herself into the air, causing her to slash at the creature with two thin slashes of magical energy, blasting the entire area into oblivion.

"Oops. This katana is definitely stronger than what I was expecting." Flurry remarked, as she landed in the rubble of the area that the creature had been in, where Kratos knew she hadn't done that intentionally, because he suspected that she had thought it was more controllable than that, and he had to wonder just how strong her sword was if she was actually serious about her attacks, more than her practice swings, "Do you think that was the Lady's blessing?"

"Fuck no! That power, lass, was your own... that weapon is a conduit of your power, your Equestrian power. Pure magic, as far as I can tell." Brok remarked, though even then he wasn't sure, the weapon seemed like it was more than any weapon he had seen, save for the sickles that were on Flurry's belt, which was why he also thought the blade might reflect her desire to protect life, "Um... be careful with it, ya?"

As Flurry nodded her father attached a rope to one of the spears and threw it down to the area that the lift had been in, as they could see it from here, and while he used another as a rope line Flurry just levitated herself, Pandora, and Tyr before following after him, but when they landed they discovered that there were no dwarves in the camp.

"Ugh oh... something doesn't feel right about this." Pandora commented, where she and the others spread out for a couple of seconds, just to be sure there were no enemies in the area, before a flock of ravens appeared out of thin air and they found that Odin appeared in front of them, alone interestingly enough.

"So, um... is now a good time?" Odin asked, his tone one that betrayed his nervousness, especially since Flurry was present at the moment, though he also noted something interesting, Kratos had a new spear and the one he was worried about had yet another new weapon, as if she really needed another toy to play with, "New weapons? I imagine Brok made them... he's a talented smith, considering he helped make Mjolnir."

"They are nothing to concern yourself with. The dwarves insisted that we arm ourselves, and we have." Kratos stated, as he made no move to mention that this was in preparation to kill Heimdall, since all of them were sure he'd do something stupid in the near future, rather he made it seem like they were just preparing for exploration and the battles it would bring them, though he suspected that Odin knew they were up to something.

"...Right. Well, anyway, Loki... Atreus is fine. He's been helping me figure out how to break Ragnarok." Odin said, where he turned and walked around the area for a time, but while he could have picked up some of the items, to potentially use as a weapon, he decided not to do so, as Flurry was watching him and he didn't want her breathing down his neck, "I sent him to Helheim on a job, with some trustworthy allies... he's safe, I assure you."

"Then what brings you here, Odin? You wouldn't come here to deliver a progress report." Flurry asked, where she walked up to the All-Father for a moment, who took a step back in fear as he wondered if she was going to run him through, and she had to admit it was sorely tempting to do so, without Atreus here to stop her, "No, you want to make sure that we're not going to go to war against you, to bring about the prophecy of Ragnarok. Relax, as long as Atreus remains safe we have no reason to wish your destruction... but just remember that I'm keeping an eye on him, and the moment you break your side of the deal I'll know about it."

"Forgive me for doubting you, but you three did kill Zeus and destroy Greece... I have a right to be afraid." Odin commented, because that was another reason for his fear in the family, as he wasn't focused on Tyr right now, rather he was focused on the fact that these three had killed a King of the Gods before and part of him was worried that he was still next on their list, given the event that was ongoing right now.

"Titans almighty, can you stop thinking about that? We didn't destroy Greece... father and sister tried to reason with the rest of the Greek gods, but most of them were doom-driven and got themselves killed." Pandora remarked, as this was something that annoyed her family whenever it was mentioned, because Kratos and Flurry had done everything in their power to spare the majority of the other gods, before discovering that they were infected by the insidious power of Fear, "Though we did do some good by destroying Korthek, the Prime Primordial Evil."

"Really? You three must tell me the tale... the Prime Primordial Evil is a dangerous being, and it is good to hear that you were able to destroy it." Tyr said, as he knew about all of the Evils that had plagued Greece and about how they had been sealed away, and before he sent the messenger goshawk he had felt a dark power awaken inside Zeus' domain, which he now had an answer for, something that made him more interested in the family and their story.

"You know, something tells me I don't want to hear this story." Odin replied, where he summoned his ravens and departed from Svartalfheim, because he figured the more he listened to the more he would want to get away from the family, so he was going to leave them here and hope Atreus was doing his job.

Flurry chuckled as Odin retreated, allowing them to head through the camp and return to the area that Freya had left them in, to give them and Brok some space to forge a new weapon, and, sure enough, they found that she was in the middle of a fight with some Einherjar. She was happy to see them again, especially since this meant Kratos's new weapon was finished, where Kratos lashed out at the warriors from Asgard, stabbing them with the spear and using his shield like he had done in the past, which was when he noticed that the spear could also absorb elements, taking the Bifrost from an Einherjar so he could use it against his foes. Freya also discovered something interesting, Flurry was carrying a new weapon, like the blade Tyr had used earlier, and she tore through her enemies with the grace and skill she had come to expect from the warrior, all while her foes dropped dead as she moved by them. Together they destroyed the Einherjar, showing that they weren't to be underestimated, before Freya beckoned for everyone to follow, as she knew where another Door was located so they could return to Sindri's and plan their next move again Odin, where Pandora told her about the All-Father's arrival and rather sudden departure from the realm.

They also discovered that the spear had yet one more purpose, as Kratos could use it to strike three runic totems that were around a runic chest and using the spear's detonation power allowed him to break all three in an instant, opening the way for him to loot the chest and add more items to Flurry's collection. Following that they used the dwarven train to return to the area that Kratos and his family had used the first one in when they were looking for Tyr, where they found that the lone gravestone was a little more active than before, like it was responding to the hilt that was in Kratos' possession. Kratos was of the opinion that they wait some more, as it seemed like there were a number of these and they could repeat what they had done with the Valkyries, tackle a number of them in a row once they knew where the majority of them were resting, to which the others nodded before they left the area. Such a thing was followed by him spotting the path in question before he used a spear to form something for them to swing on, allowing them to cross over to where the Door Freya had spotted was located, and by activating the Door they were able to enter the Realm Between Realms as they made their way back to Sindri's so they could share their success with everyone else.

As they did that Flurry felt a surge of magic coming from Midgard, like the Einherjar were heading out that way, something she knew since she was becoming familiar with the magic that Odin's forces wielded, causing her to stop as they stepped out into the area in front of Sindri's.

"Before we do anything, I'm going to check out Midgard." Flurry said, where Kratos and Pandora glanced at each other for a few seconds, knowing that she was thinking of something and she likely wanted to be sure of her thoughts before worrying them, before nodding, showing Flurry that they understood her and were silently wishing her well.

Flurry produced her Key before heading back to Midgard, where she picked out the Lake of Nine, and when she stepped out of the Door she unfurled her wings and took off, seeking the magical signature that had caused her to come here in the first place, and it wasn't long before she spotted what caught her interest, a surge of Einherjar landing in the forest. What she found to be interesting was that there was a new figure among them, an annoyed Thrud by the looks of things, meaning she must have had words with Atreus or might have done something to annoy Odin, or Heimdall since the Keeper of Gjallarhorn didn't seem to like Thor, or his family. It seemed like they were on a scouting mission, or maybe a mission to take care of the local raiders to appease the people of Midgard that were outside Asgard's wall, but from what she could see there were at least fifteen Einherjar and only one of Thrud, far too many for a scouting mission and even too many for the raiders, based on what she saw during her time in Asgard. Something about this seemed fishy to her, causing her to hold out her hand as she summoned one of her other weapons, the Dragon Cleaver to be exact, as she watched what was going on, because if things went south Thrud was going to need someone to keep her safe.

Now she wasn't sure exactly what they said, she didn't have her brother's way with languages and got by with everything Faye had taught them, but Flurry was able to figure out their meaning when one shouted something, mentioned Thrud's full name, and struck her in the back before she could react, causing Flurry to drop out of the sky and quickly land between the two groups.

"You know, I have no idea what you guys said, but something tells me it can't be good." Flurry said, though at the same time she noticed that the wound on Thrud's back was bleeding and held a hand out, where she used her magic to heal the wound in a matter of seconds, no doubt annoying some of the Einherjar that were in front of her, "Thrud, do you know what they said before I arrived?"

"Th... They said 'By the order of... of the All-Father: d... death to Thrud Thorsdottir'." Thrud replied, something that explained much to Flurry in the span of a few seconds, especially the fact that the warrior that Atreus had befriended, to a degree, was confused and in pain, the emotional kind, and now she knew why.

Flurry growled as she turned on the Einherjar, because this was just annoying when she thought about it, where she spun the axe and quickly slashed through one of her targets before he even realized what was going on, causing them to quickly surround her as they focused on her and her alone. Flurry sighed as she turned the axe around and rushed at her enemies, spinning around as she hacked another one to pieces, before planting the head of her weapon in the chest of another as she shifted her stance, causing the enemies around her to turn their heads as they focused on her again. In the next instant she drew her new katana and diced her way through a few more Einherjar, dropping them like they were nothing, before holding her hand out as she recalled her axe to her and charged at the rest of her enemies, using both weapons to cut down each of the remaining Einherjar that were in the area. It was then that she found that there was one more enemy, a larger soldier from Asgard that carried a scythe, but as he attacked her, however, Flurry dodged the attack, disarmed him, and then swung her weapons, slashing her foe apart in a matter of seconds.

Thrud, on the other hand, was simply amazed by what was going on, as this allowed her to see just how good Flurry was in a fight, even though she was also confused by the statement the Einherjar had said, and when the battle was over she found that Flurry stored the axe in her bag and sheathed her other sword before helping her up.

"So... Odin wants you dead, no doubt to force your father to start drinking again." Flurry remarked, though while that part was easy to see, since the All-Father had been annoyed by Thor not bothering to drink any of the mead he had brought during his attempt to talk to the family, but it made her wonder if Odin was going mad, because this would give her more reasons to want to bring him down, since he was now targeting his own family.

"I... I don't know why he'd order such a thing. Sure, Loki and I failed in Helheim... he freed Garm as well... but I don't know why grandfather would want me dead." Thrud said, where it was clear that she was lost, betrayed by someone she had no doubt looked up to, especially since now she was starting to see why Atreus and the others didn't like Odin too much, but she also revealed something else that was interesting to Flurry, her brother had messed up again.

Flurry told Thrud to come with her, as she knew that the girl could benefit from being with those who had been betrayed by Odin in some manner, though now they also had to deal with Atreus doing something incredibly stupid, figuring out how to fix his mistake, and then worry about Odin's stupid plan, causing her to sigh as she wondered what the next couple of hours had in store for all of them.
