God of War: Daughter of War
Ragnarok: The Final Pieces
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIt took some time for them to actually calm Thor down to a manageable level, which was understandable since he had just discovered that his father had tried to murder his daughter, but the promise of ruining Odin seemed to be part of the key to getting him to relax, the other being allowing him to rest with his family.
"You have more allies here than what Odin figured you might have." Thor commented, as there were a number of gods that he, Sif, and even Modi didn't know about, since the Greek gods had gone unnoticed by the All-Father, plus there was the large wolf and everything else they had discovered since coming to this place, "What's stopping you from rushing into Asgard and just ending Ragnarok now?"
"Because that would still cause unnecessary death... my plan will make sure those that deserve death will perish and those who are innocent will survive." Flurry replied, because she had a board in her mind that represented their battle against Odin, a board that was heavily positioned in their favor right now, and right now she was making sure to move the last few pieces into place before they made their move to defeat Odin, "Don't worry, he'll pay for his crimes, just as I said he would. I don't want to rush blindly into whatever trap he might have since he knows we have Garm's power on our side, and that your family has now turned on him."
"Aye, he's smart enough to plan for many things, and will no doubt rush to plan around these events." Mimir said, though he had to admit that the house was far more crowded that he thought it would be, which was due to many more gods coming to join them after feeling Flurry's rage over what they saw in Niflheim, but also knew that Ragnarok would be over soon enough, they just had to be patient, "When are you planning on making your move?"
"Soon, there are a few more things we need to clear up: I need to head to Muspelheim for a bit, take down the ravens that are in that realm... and then I need to visit the Raven Tree." Flurry answered, where her family noticed that there was a bit of anger in her voice, which was understandable since she had reacted terribly to the discovery they had made in Niflheim early into their quest to break Ragnarok, while everyone else seemed confused, "After that the rest of our allies should arrive and then we can make our move against Odin and bring this war to an end."
Kratos thought about that and knew that Flurry had asked some of the others, their Norse friends to be exact, about any and all forces that they might be able to offer to her plan, and while Midgard had no army Sindri had told her that the dwarves were ready to repel, and Freyr said he could get the light and dark elves to cooperate for a time. He knew why Flurry was so interested on gathering allies, since most of the realms were scattered and didn't have warriors to offer them, so they had to make due with what they had, plus whoever was coming to join them since he agreed with his daughter on that front. He also knew that Flurry wasn't after war, but there was a reason she wanted to stack the deck as much as she was doing, and he trusted her to do the right thing when the time came, especially since she was planning on breaking Ragnarok. The rest of the group had offered to do what they could to aid Flurry in her mission, showing Kratos just how much everyone trusted his daughter and trusted her plans, which only made him wonder what she was planning.
"So we're not dealing with Surtr?" Atreus asked, because he noticed that she didn't mention the fire giant at all, the one that Mimir had said would strike down Asgard when the time came, and it was almost like Flurry was just ignoring the fact that Ragnarok was a realm war and that the last fire giant was supposed to march on Asgard when the time came, though that only made him curious as to what his sister had planned.
"Nope. If he wants to join us, he's more than welcome to do so... but I'm not going to ask him to fulfill his part, since there is no reason to do so anymore." Flurry replied, though at the same time Brok walked over to where she was sitting and handed over another Seed, meaning she could head to Muspelheim whenever she wanted, causing her to collect the Seed as se headed for the house's main door, where her father, sister, and brother followed her, "Shouldn't take me long to complete my objectives, and then we can focus on preparing for the final event."
Kratos nodded as they headed out into the area outside the house, where Fenrir was being tended to by Angrboda, before Flurry held the Seed to the Door and it activated before their eyes, allowing her to open it as they headed to Muspelheim, a visit that was going to be short and sweet. He suspected that if they had more time they would have dealt with some of the new trials that Surtr would have created after their last visit, in fact he would have had fun seeing what might have been thrown at them, but he was sure they could focus on it in the future. It didn't take them long to step through the other side of the Door and step out into the realm of fire, where they found that it did, in fact, bring them to an area that had the trial swords, or at least one of them, but Flurry didn't care about that as she pulled her bow out and readied one of her magical arrows. True to form she loosed the arrow into the air and her family watched as the magical arrows rained down on the realm, crushing the magical ravens that were scattered throughout Muspelheim, causing her to sigh for a few seconds before nodding as she felt the last one fade away.
Once that was done the family returned to the Realm Between Realms for a few moments, where Freya and the Greek gods followed them through the Door and traveled to Niflheim with them, where they stepped out a few moments later and everyone looked at the large tree, where their eyes widened as they realized what was in front of them.
"Are those what I think they are? Please tell me I'm wrong." Freya asked, echoing a comment she had made previously, as she could see the white ravens and could see what they really were, a fact that made her realize why Kratos had told her that Flurry had been so pissed off when they came here the first time around, "Those... Those can't..."
"Be the souls of children, sacrificed by their parents and sent to Odin, only to be perverted by his Raven Keeper into all of the green spies I've eliminated? Sadly, they are." Flurry answered, where she stepped up to the area that the tree was in, while at the same time expanding her magic so the others could walk around the outer edges of this region, because she needed no help for what was coming next, causing her to glance around for a moment, "RAVEN KEEPER! Get out here and face your well deserved punishment!"
"Get away from my children!" a voice said, where a powerful looking revenant appeared behind her and Flurry grinned as she engaged her magic, something that was followed by the rest of the group watching as the Raven Keeper was caught by magical chains, forced to the ground by Flurry's magic.
"Titans, I expected more from Odin's most loyal acolyte! You're a moron, just like he is!" Flurry remarked, because she had to wonder if Asgard was full of morons, and if they were a lot of people would die when she made her move against them, before she focused on the figure that was in front of her as she moved the Raven Keeper into the area that was right in front of the ravens, "But back to the point: you are going to pay for what you did to all of the souls that you tormented and twisted into Odin's little spies, and the ravens will dispense your sentence. I could behead you, slice you apart, turn you into a living bomb... it all depends on what they want, really."
"Fool, the Pale One will feast on your heart!" the Raven Keeper replied, where they heard a roar as a dragon, which was slightly smaller than the first one they had faced during their first adventure in Midgard, appeared in the distance and just flew towards them, a black dragon with a body that looked malnourished, as she could see the power inside it, and there were small circular tatters in it's wings.
Such a thing caused Flurry to chuckle as the dragon landed on the walkway that brought them to the Raven Tree, though instead of it fighting her, like the Raven Keeper wanted, the dragon bowed it's head and let Flurry pet it for a few seconds, causing the detained revenant to just stare at them for a moment.
"She's a death dragon, and I'm the Goddess of Death... I outrank you." Flurry stated, which was amusing when she took a few seconds to think about it, that the Raven Keeper thought she was above death and could bring down the goddess that was linked to that aspect, before she faced the figure once more, "Now then, the ravens shall decide your fate."
There was a series of chirps as the white ravens seemed to talk to each other, debating everything that had happened and what they had seen in their forced servitude to Odin, before one flew down to her and chirped out the answer, which was when Flurry extended a hand and a sphere of deathly energy appeared above her palm. It was just like the one she had used when she tried to turn Odin into a living bomb, but this time around there was a difference, a second spell that was mixed into it and would activate when the first one ran it's course, which was followed by her pushing it into the Raven Keeper's chest. Sure enough it merged with her mana, causing her veins to turn into fire as she screamed in agony, and it looked like her body was burning from the inside out as Flurry did this, though Kratos noticed that she took no joy in this cruel form of torment, rather she was doing it to appease the souls of the children that were around them. In the next instant the Raven Keeper exploded, a small scale explosion that was focused on her and no one else, though Flurry caught the soul before it could escape and weaved a bit of magic around it, creating a small white raven with green markings, the Raven Keeper transformed into a new form.
"While I don't approve of this, the children insisted that you suffer the same fate that you forced onto them... you are now trapped between life and death, just as they are," Flurry said, where she raised her hand for a moment and placed the former Raven Keeper on the lowest branch of the tree, a symbol that she was no longer on top and that she was below all those she had tortured over the years, before she sighed, "The children know I can help them, fix them... but they want you to be the one to free them from their cursed existence, to repent for your sins. Free the children from their forms and I will release you as well... until then, you shall remain here, just like those you have cursed."
Kratos looked at Athena and the other Greek gods, as this was very much like what some of the others from their own pantheon had done, using their powers to curse a follower or someone who annoyed them, often resulting in the victim being turned into animals or monsters, and Flurry was continuing the tradition. Of course he knew that she didn't want this at all, realistically she would have just beheaded the Raven Keeper and called it a day, but she had a habit of helping those that were wronged, just like he, Pandora, and Atreus had done in the past, and helping the souls of the children that were trapped here was something she would do. This also crippled whatever forces of Odin's were left, as his most loyal of followers had been taken from him, plus the dragon that served her was now on Flurry's side, that much he could see as they watched her for a moment, meaning Odin would be freaking out once he realized what was going on. Plus he could see that the ravens were happy by her helping them, while the former Raven Keeper seemed to be cowering right now, a fitting fate for someone like her, which was followed by him and the others catching up with Flurry as she opened the Door and returned to Sindri's house again.
As they did that, however, the group found that Ratatoskr was waiting for them, which meant that something big had to be happening if he was waiting on them and not tending to the tree like he usually did, but they doubted that it was Odin, otherwise he was stepping up his game, which was a bad thing.
"Master Kratos, everyone, the magic of Yggdrasil is shuddering, coming from the edge of Midgard. Something's coming, and it's big." Ratatoskr stated, where they could see that he was worried about whatever he had felt, though this caused the family and their Greek friends to glance at each other, because it sounded like what they were expecting after listening to Hecate telling them about their remaining allies, "And what's more there are multiple 'somethings' coming our way... and from what I can tell it's coming from where you guys first appeared, all those years ago."
Kratos knew where that was, they had collected the material of their shattered boat and set up a marker they recognized to remember the area they had crashed in, something that caused them to turn towards Fenrir, who pawed at the space in front of him and opened a rift for them. From there they returned to their home before following Flurry as she started to retrace their steps back to the edge of Midgard, walking through the forest while not even seeing any signs of reavers or the other hazards that used to be in the Woods. Those from Greece could feel the energy the moment they returned to Midgard, the power of the Titans that was masked so only they could sense them, and, sure enough, Flurry found that the coast had a number of normal sized human sized figures standing together. One was a woman with an earthy body, Gaia no doubt, while another was an older male with a white beard, Kronos most likely, and so on, each Titan possessing a new body that reflected their gender and whatever aspect was the one they were known for, like how Gaia was connected to the earth and Kronos to time.
In the next moment she realized that these were fragments of the true Titans, because off in the distance, in the fog, she could see something massive moving towards them, a number of somethings by the looks of it, and behind them were a number of large ships baring the flags of Sparta.
"Kratos, Flurry, Pandora... we have arrived. The Titans, the soldiers of the Land Between Realms, and the remaining Greek gods have come to join your ongoing war." Gaia stated, speaking as soon as she and the others noticed the group, while at the same time they bowed their heads, showing respect to the gods that were in front of them, because they knew that standing against them was a bad idea, "Eos and many of the other surviving gods have realized that Zeus was wrong and that working towards a better future was the smart thing to do... and they have sworn to aid you, if at all possible."
"And I bring some assistance from Egypt." a familiar voice said, where Flurry smiled as Anubis appeared nearby and had a smile on his face, while at the same time most of the group paused as they noticed his presence, though Tyr also smiled as he noticed the god standing there, and Anubis even smiled as he patted Flurry's shoulder, "You have progressed well, my student, and it would be my honor to stand beside you and see this through to the end... you have my aid, and the aid of my undead army."
"The Deathrite Daggers. You were able to communicate and learn how to be a Death God from Anubis." Tyr remarked, as he and Anubis had made a deal a long time ago and he was happy to see that Flurry had used them to speak with Anubis, allowing her to learn about her powers and become stronger as a whole.
Flurry nodded and told them that Anubis wanted his aid hidden until he told her she could tell the others, but now they knew the truth and Kratos understood, though at the same time Flurry smiled as their forces started to gather, as now they were ready to face Odin and she could only hope that her plan worked as intended, to break Ragnarok without anyone dying in the process.
