Ragnarok: The New Plan

"The medicine will take some time to mend his wounds, but he'll be good to go in no time." Freya said, as the moment they returned to Sindri's place she had her brother carried into the house and placed on one of the chairs that could lean back, giving Freyr plenty of room to rest while they planned out what to do next, before she sighed, "So, Heimdall is dead and we have Gjallarhorn... Odin might not have cared for him, but he'll be annoyed that we have the horn that starts Ragnarok and that more of the pieces are falling on our side of the board as the days go by."

"Yeah, and I think we all know what needs to be done next: I need to return to Asgard, complete the mask, and then steal it before Odin can use it." Atreus stated, where he found that a number of the others turning to face him for a moment, but this time around he could see that everyone was thinking of his idea, because the mask was what Odin was focused on and taking it would derail whatever he was planning, "If it really can give Odin the answers that he is looking for, and like some sort of power in the process, then taking it will give us some time to plan out how to bring him down without causing the start of Ragnarok."

"I should come with you, both to forge the mask and to get my family out of Asgard... considering that Odin was willing to kill me, I wouldn't put it past him to target Modi or even my mother." Thrud added, because while she wanted nothing to do with her grandfather, and it was hard to think of him as such after he tried to have her killed off, it was clear that he might do something to her family to get at her father, to get him drinking again so he'd be easier to control, "And if we can't stop the end of the realms from coming, well, at least they won't be in Asgard when it happens."

"Yeah, about that... the Giants don't actually know how many realms will perish during Ragnarok: could be all of them, could just be Asgard, could be none." Flurry said, causing their Norse friends to look at them, because Tyr was the only one that actually knew what they found in Groa's shrine, after revealing and expelling Odin from Alfheim, something that was followed by her letting out a sigh as she thought about something, "Right, we haven't told anyone else what we found back in Groa's shrine... father, Mimir, you two and Tyr should tell them what is going on. Our friends and allies deserve to know the truth that the Giant's best seer had seen before her demise, even though we have no plans to follow prophecy and I have my own thoughts on the matter."

"Flurry, that means you have a plan to break Ragnarok." Tyr stated, though this was good news, because the figure was the only one among them that could truly break fate, truly change it and undo Ragnarok, and if she had a plan to stop the dark event from happening he knew that it would be best to leave her to her planning, "May I ask what it is?"

Flurry smiled for a moment as he asked Atreus if she could have one of the marbles he had collected, causing him to hand over the one that had been in Groa's shrine, figuring that was what she wanted, while at the same time Angrboda wondered what she was going to do with the Giant artifact. In the following moments she glanced at a few of the others, like Hecate and Freya, causing them to realize what she had planned without her even saying a word, and both Brok and Sindri noticed it as well as they stepped up, secretly using their own magic without revealing anything to the others. Their combination of powers had the exact effect she was hoping for, as the spherical item started to distort before her eyes, warping into a shape that looked a lot like a comma, but it was slightly smaller than what it had been previously, but that wasn't the main thing she was working towards. Once the shape was refined Flurry held her other hand out and Fafnir's mirror appeared nearby, as she was withdrawing it from her bag for the time being, to which she nodded to Hecate and together the two of them did something Freya and the others were stunned to watch, they copied the spellwork on the mirror, slightly altered it to fit what was on Flurry's mind, and embedded it inside the new item.

Tyr's eyes widened as he understood what Flurry was planning, and if it worked it would spell a literal end to Odin and all of his plans, to which he and the others stared at the smaller crystalline item, as it almost looked like glass that had a glowing light inside it that disappeared once the deed was done, and once the magic was done Flurry returned the mirror to her bag, along with the Gjallarhorn.

"Such an interesting item... and in the form of a tomoe. I hope your plan works." Tyr remarked, as this was a way to clear the main goal of Ragnarok, the death of Odin, without actually endangering the rest of the Nine Realms to the threat of being wiped out, meaning it could very well break Ragnarok like he expected from someone like Flurry, and he found himself actually looking forward to seeing her plan in action.

"Indeed, though I just need the right moment to use it. For now, I'll keep it contained inside my bag for the time being... you know, I should head inside and organize my stuff one of these days." Flurry said, where she weaved a bit of magic around the transformed item and teleported it into a safe area of her bag for the time being, since it needed to be pristine when the time came to use it against Odin, before she noticed how some of the others were looking at her, "What?"

"Nothing, just... remembering that there's more to you and your powers than I originally believed." Thrud replied, because the more she learned about Flurry the more she realized that she, and the rest of Asgard, had no real idea as to how strong Flurry really was, especially since it looked like she also had the power to head into her bag, something that sounded weird and yet seemed perfectly normal when she thought about it.

"You know, now that the path to the Lady is secure, maybe we should ask her if she'll make something for the runt... I mean, if he's going back into Asgard he'll need something to help him out." Brok commented, as he wasn't even remotely surprised by Flurry's comment on entering her bag, in fact he had been expecting such a thing after watching her draw things out of it and put them in all the time, so instead his focus was on Atreus and his part of the plan, "There's no telling what the All-Fucker will have him do or where he'll send him, right? Best we give him something that will protect him, maybe even draw out his latent dragon abilities... since he isn't changing one way or the other, towards being a boy or being a dragon, I figure we can make him something special."

"The Dragonmail Cuirass, as we were thinking of calling it, will be designed to help him tap into his dragon potential, while at the same time protecting him from danger." Sindri said, showing them that the brothers had been thinking about this for a long time, no doubt after seeing how Atreus was unable to move one way or the other, and he already had a bag prepared for such a thing, though he did have to approach Flurry for a few additional items, "He should be able to tap into the powers that a dragon can: fire, lightning, earth, and everything else... should be able to grant him the power to keep himself safe."

Kratos, Flurry, Pandora, Tyr, and Thrud joined the brothers as Flurry showed Fenrir where the Lady's forge was located, causing the wolf to open a rift outside the house without delay, allowing them to step through it and return to the area that her family had been in previously. Once the group was ready they used the bell to descend into the lake, allowing Atreus and Thrud to see the mermaid for a moment, who didn't even seem surprised by the fact that they were back for something else, and the brothers handed over the materials without delay. Flurry still found it amazing how the Lady was able to weave all of the items into a single force, in fact she could see the water weaving the materials into an interesting set of chainmail that looked like the links had been forged to look like dragon scales, hence why the brothers wanted to call it the 'dragonmail', as it was a combination of dragon scales and chainmail. Just like before the Lady required the blood of the one the item was being made for and Atreus offered it without delay, where they watched as it was weaved into the material, giving the armor a silver and red coloration before it changed to match the scales that were currently on Atreus' body, which caused Flurry to realize that this was the elemental aspect.

As the armor was completed they found that it took the form of a heart shaped locket made from dragon scales, where the group found that Atreus could focus his power for a moment and it expanded into it's armor form, just like Kratos' ring, and with how the chainmail looked he almost appeared to be a full humanoid dragon in this form, since the armor seemed to flow over his arms and legs.

"Woah, so this is the Dragonmail Cuirass... amazing." Atreus remarked, as he could feel it's power resonating with his own, like it was designed to do, and now he realized that he could complete his mission, in fact he was sure that he could do this without Flurry watching over him all the time, causing him to turn towards his sister for a moment, "Do you trust me?"

"Yes, I do believe I do. Go, brother, and get that damned mask... and then we can begin the endgame." Flurry stated, though this time around she knew this wasn't arrogance talking, her brother had learned how poisonous arrogance could be and, at long last, had become the best version of himself, as he was talking with the confidence of someone who knew what they were doing and knew that even if he failed he had people who were willing to back him up.

Atreus smiled as he retracted the armor into it's locket form and made sure the locket was under his armor, unseen so he could keep a secret from the All-Father, though with that done they returned to Sindri's house and let Fenrir close the rift in seconds, before he opened another that returned Atreus and Thrud to the area he had called the ravens in. Following that he called for the ravens and sure enough they appeared, warping him and his friend back to Asgard, back to Modi's room, to which the god in question nearly dropped his weapon as he noticed them arrive, and his first action was to hug his sister as soon as he noticed her. In that moment Atreus held a finger up over his mouth, indicating that they had better be silent, to which Modi nodded his head before heading outside, where he returned with his mother a few moments later and Sif did the same thing that her son had done, she hugged Thrud the instant she saw her daughter. This time Atreus that Odin might have told them that Thrud's group had been wiped out, meaning Thor already knew the news that Odin wanted him to focus on, but they would change that and make sure Thrud's family was safe from Odin's wrath.

In the next moment Thrud showed them the image of what happened, as she still had the crystal Flurry had given her, and the path were furious by this discovery, especially Sif, but Atreus was happy to see that they were willing to trust him, since Flurry had a plan to get them out of here, since Sif clearly trusted his sister, but for the time he and Thrud walked into the area that Odin was in.

"I'm back, and I found someone while I was thinking in Midgard." Atreus stated, making it sound like he hadn't been up to anything at all, plus with Flurry wiping out all of the spy ravens there was no information Odin could have learned in the very short period of time he had been gone, all while noting that the All-Father made no move to speak about Thrud, "So, I've been going over the inscription on the mask, and I think I've cracked it... the inscription that took us to Helheim was simply part of the Giant's game to mess with you, and it changed once Garm was focused on."

"And what does it say, young man?" Odin asked, because there was something about this that didn't make sense, the pair in front of him seemed far more united than he thought they would be, since they had been arguing with each other the last time he saw them, but now they seemed to be presenting a united front.

Atreus told him without delay, that it was the 'cry of first breath', which Odin identified as Niflheim as he handed Atreus the mask and the sword he had left behind, before tasking the pair with finding Thor so he could send them into the realm, as he realized it would be best to leave them together for the time being. Thrud knew where to find her father, they just headed out into Asgard and walked down the street, where they found a tavern that was in the middle of the usual drinking and the constant fighting, though she found that Mjolnir was resting on the Einherjar that usually collected the weapons of those who entered this place. Her father, as she expected, happened to be sitting at one of the tables and had a mug of mead in front of him, but that was when Atreus found something interesting, he wasn't drinking it, rather he seemed to be thinking about something important, which was that Thrud, as far as he knew, was dead. It was rather sad, seeing him seemingly shattered in a way that likely made him useless to Odin, but a look of joy appeared on his face when Thrud stepped in front of him and he realized that she was real, that the report had been a lie, and that he was willing to work with Atreus for the time being, since he still owed Flurry, as if sensing that she was behind this.

Once Thor retrieved his weapon the raven flew around them and dropped them off in a new part of Niflheim, which was far from the first area Atreus and his family had fought through previously, causing Atreus to slip the mask on again and found that it was directing him to the final piece of the puzzle.

With that in mind Atreus focused and allowed the Dragonmail Cuirass to flow over his body, surprising Thor since he hadn't used this the last time they had seen each other, and he found that there were Hel-Walkers in front of them, though as he did that he noticed a rain of arrows on various points of the realm, Flurry wiping out the rest of Odin's spies. Once that was done Atreus grinned as he held his right hand out and his magic caused flames to appear on his hand, doing no damage to him while he could damage the Hel-Walkers that were in front of them, confirming that his new armor doubled as a weapon, he could channel the elements to hurt his enemies. In addition to that he discovered that he could also use runic magic and lightly scratch his targets, allowing him to chain foes together before blasting them with a single bit of magic, and he even did it while leaving an opening for Thor and Thrud, allowing them to tear through their enemies as well. In addition to that he also found that he could wield Freyr's sword, she actually allowed him to do so, and he slashed through the enemies that were in their way, allowing them to literally carve their way through whatever foes happened to be in this realm.

Instead of being arrogant in his new strength, and the power that the armor gave him, Atreus focused on making sure that he used his bow every now and then, finding that he could even channel his new power into his bow for more powerful hits, in fact a single lightning arrow could cause a thunder strike that knocked all of his enemies away.

"Kid... where did you get your new toy?" Thor asked, because this was unlike the last time they had been in a realm together, as Atreus was now a force to be reckoned with, like he had found a way to utilize his dragon side in a way that none had seen in the past, which was why his father had been so interested in learning how the boy had done what he did back while they were in Muspelheim.

"Tell you what, I'll tell you once we're done here." Atreus said, though in the same moment he reached the end of the path, because with his new skills, Thor's power, and Thrud's abilities they had reached the path's end, allowing him to draw out the last piece of the mask from the portion of Niflheim that it was stored in, completing the mask.

"I don't know how you did it, but you completed the mask." a voice said, where Odin appeared out of thin air thanks to the raven that was following them, to which he held out a hand for a moment as he looked at Atreus, as if he was expecting the mask to be handed to him after all of this.

"You know, there is more to the mask than what's been said." Atreus remarked, where he found that Thrud realized that it was time for them to go and made sure her father was standing next to her, while at the same time the ravens that were here, Huginn and Muninn, found themselves confused as their heads rapidly moved around, where he realized that Flurry was still in the area and was helping him out, "And it ain't yours."

As Odin realized that he was being betrayed, something he might have seen coming, Atreus released a burst of light energy at the ground, blinding their foe, before whistling, which was when a rift appeared behind them and he rushed through with Thrud and Thor following after him. They appeared outside Sindri's house once more, though this time they found that Modi was there with his mother, because the discovery he had been shown meant it was best that they get out of Asgard before Odin turned on them, though this did surprise Thor. As the god understood that something was up, since this was beyond what he was expecting, Atreus removed the mask while Thrud showed her father the crystal that held the event that had shaped how she and the others had chosen to go about things. For a moment he just stood there, watching as the group of Einherjar betrayed Thrud, attacked her while her back was turned, and tried to murder her in cold blood before Flurry came to save her, and the rage that was on his face was understandable as he gripped the crystal hard enough to shatter it.

"Flurry, tell me you have a plan to make my bastard of a father pay for this!" Thor stated, because this was crossing the line, that his father would order Thrud's death, and it enraged him to no end as he thought about it, while at the same time he found that Atreus handed the mask to his sister, who stored it inside her bag.

Flurry nodded and told Thor that she had a plan, she just needed to place a few more pieces on the board before she was ready to spring her trap on Odin, and she was sure that all of them would be quite pleased once she was done with him in the next couple of days.
