Luna placed a hoof on the young colt's shoulder. He looked up at her, then lowered his gaze back to the void below him. "It doesn't feel like he loves me."
"Oh, no?" She turned and walked through a portal of her own make. "Come. Let us see what your brother is having nightmares about."
Cosmic's ears perked up. "You mean he's actually scared of something?"
"Everypony is. What would make your brother any different?"
Rubbing his hooves together, the colt rushed into the portal. He wanted to know how to scare his brother.
On the other side of the portal, he saw a smaller version of his brother being beaten up by two bigger colts. And yet, it was Cosmic's face on the body. "Is that me?!"
Luna nodded. "What your brother fears the most is that you will suffer from bullying the same way he did. He wants you to be able to stand up to him, even despite his current size."
"Why does he think that'll happen to me?"
Luna waved her horn and everything became much more clear. It truly was his brother, his lip fat and bleeding. "Take my lunch!" he cried out. "Please, just take my lunch and leave me alone!"
The larger of the two colts slammed his hoof across his face. "This ain't about the lunch, no more. You disrespected me by lookin' at my girl. You ever look at 'er again, and I'll rip the rest of your teeth out, ya hear?"
His brother nodded, and with one more kick to his ribs, they walk off, stomping on the brown paper bag that contained his lunch on the way out. The injured colt just curled up on the floor, crying and shivering.
"I had no idea," admitted Cosmic. "I thought he was just a jerk."
"A common problem," nodded Luna. "In order to better protect ourselves from that which we fear, the greatest shield we can ask for is understanding."
Cosmic flopped to the floor. "What do I do?"
Luna smiled and shook her head. "It is not my place to tell you how to solve your problems. I'm just here to help you figure them out."
They were silent for a moment, then Cosmic stood up, turned around and hugged the princess. "I think I know. Thank you, Luna."
With a small hug back, Luna turned and left, disappearing through a doorway back into the void.
That was fairly typical for her. She would pop into somepony's nightmare, help them make sense of it, and it would help them cope with their lot in life. She enjoyed it, with the reward being a string of foals that would grow into well-rounded adults.
As she was looking around for more nightmares, she felt a tugging on her tail. It was small at first, but it didn't take long for it to grow in strength, drawing her to whatever it was that was calling her. Normally, she'd let it guide her, but lately, it was always the exact same thing, from the exact same colt. She fought back, to little avail, but there wasn't much she could do. He had her in his grasp, and he wasn't about to let go.
When she landed in her cage, at least he seemed to be most of the way through his dream, so there was some good news, at least. She was surrounded by crudely-designed pirates all wearing the same belt and bandana combo, holding swords in their teeth.
Then the door busted down, with the tiny colt that bucked it off the hinges standing in the archway. "You've met your match, pirate scum!"
Luna felt her body being forced upward as her mouth spewed words she hadn't called for. "My hero! Oh, save me, save me!"
Normally, she'd blast the cage to bits and every single one of the pirates that had taken her captive, but she couldn't make that move. Not on her own volition. She was being forced to take the role of a playtoy, and she couldn't do anything to stop it.
The colt ran through the room, slashing down two to three pirates with every swing of his giant sword. He didn't even need to hit them, he would just swing at them, and they'd go flying. Such was the norm for a child's dream, but some of them didn't even look like they were close enough to even touch the sword.
Of course, all of them waited for him to rush up to them, rather than preparing for him or trying to adjust their strategy apart from just a simple sword swing. Not until the colt turned and rushed up the ramps was there any degree of difficulty presented to him. At the top, just in front of the cage, stood the captain.
He was different from the other pirates, as, rather than a cutlass, he carried an estoc. Rather than a bandana, he wore a red tricorne with a fluffy blue plume. Rather than a belt, we wore a long red coat with a popped collar.
"Yar! Ye be takin' my treasure, now, boy?"
"That's right, Captain Badguy! She's not yours!"
"Yar! That be Cap'n Badguy! Engarde!"
What followed was a very pitiful excuse for stage fighting. They were just circling their swords around until they hit each other. There was no hoofwork, no dodging, they weren't even trying to hit each other. It was just their swords clashing against each other, steel on steel.
This continued until the colt poked the captain once in the chest. "Yar!" he cried out dramatically. "Oh, no! I have been slain! Curse you, Dread Captain Pipsqueak, greatest pirate of the seven seas!"
At the captain fell over, apparently dead from a bloodless poke, Pipsqueak slashed the lock off the cage. "My hero!" shouted Luna, again against her wishes, as she pushed the door open and hugged him. "I knew you would come for me, my love!"
"I'll always be there to protect you," he smirked. "You're my mare."
As Luna fell back, the room immediately turned into Pipsqueak's captain's cabin, and her cage into a bed. It was now time for the part she dreaded, that kept coming up. She struggled to break free, but her body was not moving as she commanded. She could see her hoof caressing his face with no bindings, she just couldn't command it to smack him awake.
"My love," he breathed, penetrating her with his cock. This was highly inappropriate for a colt his age. "Do you love it?"
She didn't. She wanted to leave this nightmare, to return to the others that needed her, but her body was not responding as such. As much as she wanted to tell him to wake up, to realize what he was doing, the only words she could cry out were "Yes, my love! More!"
