Chapter the Twenty-Fifth: Naptime

Both of them had a nice big stack of waffles, with strawberry jam for Pip and blueberry for Luna. Additionally, while Luna enjoyed her coffee, Pip was happy with a grapefruit limeade. All in all, it was a pleasant breakfast.

Though it wasn't common for either of them, Luna suggested that they lie down for a nap, and Pip agreed. It had been a strenuous evening, a rough night, an overwhelming morning, and a big breakfast, so he was definitely feeling a bit more weary than usual. Luna, however, wanted to see if this kind of reinforcement was helping with Pip's dreams. Specifically, his actions in the shower this morning had called his behaviour into question, and she wanted to see how it worked out.

Pip didn't call out to Luna once asleep. It was possible that he was actively trying not to call her, as he didn't want to risk harming her by accident. Regardless, Luna went directly to him, invading his dream and standing right behind him. He was in a meadow, completely alone, sitting on a fallen log, and watching the flowers swaying in the breeze in waves.

"Pip."

Pip turned and looked at her. "Princess Luna? What are you doing here?!" He looked worried.

This could be a major turning point, and Luna knew it. Her next action was a test. She reached out her hoof, and a jar of pickled radishes and carrots appeared in her grasp. "I brought you a cake!" she announced.

That was a spectacular feeling. While it didn't take much to do that, she had thought up the most random thing she could say and do, and then put those two things forward.

Seeing Pip's confusion, she smiled down at him and stroked his mane. "Sorry about that, Pip. I needed to know if I was in control of my own actions."

He nodded and patted the log next to him. Her hooves started moving on their own, and then stopped. "Sorry. I'm really trying not to push you."

"It's okay, Pip," she smiled, sitting down next to him anyway. "That I'm not on my knees having sex with you right now is already a very big improvement."

Luna could feel her body being pushed towards that, and then stopping as her front hoof touched the ground. Pip was still being dictated by his desires, but he was making an obvious effort to hold himself back. Tears were beginning to well up in his eyes. "Can you please leave?"

"Why do you want me gone, Pip?"

He sniffed. "I don't know if I can control myself. I want to be alone, so I can't hurt anypony. I especially don't want to hurt you."

Luna smiled and leaned in for a hug, but could feel herself being pushed back. "Pip, I'm very proud of you in this moment. I think you're being a good lay."

That was unexpected. She had intended to tell him he was doing a good job, but her words just slipped out, and her hoof was propelled to his legs, which he had closed.

"Please," he begged. "I want to be better, but the more I look at you, the more I feel my grip slipping."

Luna took a deep breath and scooted back. "No, Pip. I'm staying."

"Please? I don't want to hurt you."

"I don't want you to hurt me, either," smiled Luna. "But we don't have much time to train you. I will not push very hard, but for now, I would like to sit next to you on this log, enjoying the meadow. It is a simple enough pleasure that you can focus on it, with me representing your temptation. Try to talk with me, Pip."

Slowly, he nodded. "I feel awful about what I've done. I didn't know how bad it was. All this time, I was just following along with what I thought was right."

Luna nodded. "Why did you think that was right, Pip?"

"Well..." he fidgeted with his hooves. "I was told that when a mare has a specific thing they want to do in bed, they'll bring it up out of bed. If spanking was what you wanted to do, I was willing to try it, and it felt just a little bit nice, so I wanted you to feel really nice. And then you tied me up like some of those mares in the magazine, so I tried to learn how to do that for you. I guess that, on some level, I just wanted to be like you."

Luna let out a small chuckle. "I have damned myself."

Pip turned and looked at her wide-eyed, with the meadow crumbling around him, then it stopped and tried to rebuild itself. "Isn't that a bad word?"

"That it is. By your shock, even you should be able to tell that this is of my own volition."

"What's "volition" mean?"

Luna shook her head. "I will tell you later."

Pip lowered his head. "Oh... okay."

"When you wake up, Pip. That way you know it was me."

He nodded and took a deep breath.

"Can you tell me who gave you the magazines and the pictures?"

Pip shook his head. "I don't want to make trouble for him. His mom's already mad at him because he's failing math, and she thinks he's really good at it. I think so, too, but I might just be bad enough that even easy things look hard."

At the mention of the word "hard," the wind began to moan, and Pip covered his ears. Regardless, Luna knew who it was now, as she had looked over the dreams of the residents of Ponyville, and there was only one colt and two fillies failing math at this time.

The two sat together and talked for a time, just chatting back and forth as Pip grew more comfortable with controlling his dream. Luna did make things a bit more difficult throughout, having little spots of distraction flitting by, but when his control was beginning to falter, she did have some ability to hold him steady, as her hooves were no longer tied.

When they woke up from their nap, Pip stretched out and was about to drop to the floor when Luna grabbed his shoulder.

"Volition means through exertion of will. I chose to say something, so by my own choice, by my own power, by my own volition, I have spoken."

Pip smiled. "Thanks."
