Spike looked out at the universe from a telescope. It was daytime, but he could still see the round moon hanging down above, and the sun was almost blinding to look at, but his dragon eyes helped. Princesses Celestia and Luna embodied the two spheres he was observing, and he wondered if they knew he was looking at them. Twilight had told him to study the stars and celestial bodies, so what better subjects than those two he already knew? His timing was impeccable, because he was about to watch an eclipse! The round sun passed in front of the even rounder moon. He’d have to write down this observation so he could tell Twilight later. He took a moment away from the view to snicker.

He was shocked to look back and see an unamused eye staring back. How could she have seen him all the way from Ponyville?
